I was in Ukiah doing some business and we were craving Chile rellenos. Plain and simple. There were not a lot of options (not every place is open during SIP) but we found Villa Del Mar and it was perfect. Went inside to order. Server/cashier was very friendly, professionally welcoming and seemed grateful for the business. Chile rellenos - ooh boy, spicy! Lots of seeds remained but the creamy cheese and soothing sauce helped balance the heat. It was a very loose, liquidy sauce but the flavor was good. Carnitas taco - straightforward and tasty! Nicely crisp-fried and salsa topped was excellent. Fish tacos - my mom gave it a thumbs up! Flavorful side of refried beans. Mmmm. Winner! read more

Enchiladas with beef - not great, no flavor, beef and sauce did not taste fresh. Carnitas burrito was ok, but overall this place was mediocre at best. Burrito had bare minimum. read more

3.5 stars rounded up for the great churros and excellent service. Stopped by here around 8 pm on a Thursday. A couple people already in here and several more came after us. The food is good, service great. We had the #18 (grande taco?) which was beans, lettuce, choice of meat - we had shredded chicken (YUM!), guac and sour cream inside a fried flour tortilla shell. It was decent but I would have liked a bit more flavor. My husband had a Chile reallano which was also decent. Our daughter had the #4. She really liked the taco but said the enchilada needed more flavor. We all had a churro - fresh cooked and sooo good! Ya gotta get the churro! read more

1st time visit. I had a carna asada super burrito. Something wasn't right... maybe the sour cream was going bad. Other than the weird taste, there wasn't much flavor. I really enjoyed the food I ordered. I ordered the chicken flautas plate with beans and rice. I thought it tasted good. The waitress was quick to seat us and was very friendly and attentive. There appeared to be somewhat of a family vibe. In that there were multiple customers that either came in or had already been seated when I arrived. Each of those groups appeared to be regulars because the waitress welcomed them all by name. Overall, it felt warm and inviting. That being said, the restaurant is small overall. This is not a restaurant to bring a huge party because space would be cramped. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this spot for the first time tonight. Ordered a couple tacos (shrimp and carnitas) and a supreme steak burrito. Everything looked great so we quickly dug in! Unfortunately, we were unprepared for the level of spice on all items. Amazing flavors, but too hot for our liking. Next time we'll have to ask for mild. Chips were also stale. They don't skimp on meat, which is awesome! read more

I would give it less than one if i could! The lady who took my order was super rude and seemed bothered while taking my order. Then my food was disgusting to top it off. They used the sauce from mole as enchilada sauce and I ordered the simplest shrimp (al mojo de ajo) and the basically just threw a bunch of minced garlic on the shrimp! I am so upset right now! I am throwing this shit away! I don't like leaving reviews unless they are positive, but this was ridiculous! read more

I think this is the best Mexican food around- and honestly- the best Mexican food anywhere. Their grilled chicken is amazing in burritos and tacos. Their fish tacos are bomb too. As a local, I eat here at least once a week! read more

One of my favorite lunch spots. This place is within walking distance of my work. I always order the carne asada super burrito and it never dissapoints. The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating and even though their signs say they charge for refills, she always slips me a refill of my soda for free. The kitchen staff is super quick and lunch comes in mere minutes and it always piping hot and fresh. Don't get me started on how fresh their salsa is....the regular salsa they serve with your chips is a perfect temperature (cold) and they include a small spoon so you can load your chips (trust me you will want to). Their chips and salsa are the best combo for mexican food choices in Ukiah. I will be back at least once a week as long as you are open. read more

Like people have said, best fish tacos in the area! And budget friendly. The Spanish rice is delicious and their salsas are good, but might be spicy for people who can't handle spice. It's perfect for my husband and I. Also great customer service. read more

Wow! Came looking for authentic food, and boy did we find it. So pleasantly surprised by the food, the staff, and the salsa. Ordered Lengua Enchilladas (not on the menu, but they were happy to accommodate), and my partner ordered the carnitas plate. We were both very happy! She says "The Carnitas were super flavorful, moist on the inside, crispy on the outside. Perfect!" We'll be recommending to family and friends, and be coming back. read more

Very good salsa bar. Many seafood items. Good flavor on all the dishes. Chile relleno was light on the cheese but had a perfectly cooked poblano as the chile. Pros: good salsa bar, including pickled jalapenos and carrots. Very good tasting meat. Many salad like options. Cons: Margarita of pretty low quality. Lot of bad art all over the walls. read more

Solid Mexican food! Villa burrito is great for meat lovers. Cheese enchilada with the lettuce and tomatoes take it to the next level. Their chile relleno could use a makeover but their habanero salsa is the bees knees. read more

Friendly, fast and fantastic food, I recommend Villa to all my So Cal friends who think the only good Mexican food is in LA or south of the border. Villa always becomes their noted exception. Other places may be slightly cheaper, but their carne asada super burritos are without comparison. The humble interior makes for a mellow atmosphere, and acts as a dramatic foil to the culinary ecstacy that awaits. Chips and salsa always gratis. read more

I really enjoyed the place. Pretty standard Mexican food place- just a simple room where you can eat chips and salsa and a glass bottled coke while you wait for some awesome fish tacos it carne asada. It wasn't as small or oppressively hot as some taco shops- I gotta give that credit- but it was still the simple atmosphere that just focuses on the food that I like. read more

We had great food here! I ordered the Villa Burrito (I think that was the name). It was filled with bacon and other meats with red and green sauce atop....very very delicious...I highly recommend this lovely burrito.... My beautiful wife had to make over 1,000 changes to what she ordered, and the nice lady patiently endured it.....all the food ordered was delicious and everyone in our party was pleased with what they ordered..... If I'm ever in Ukiah again Villa Del Mar will be a mandatory stop.... Cheers!... read more

I don't live in Ukiah but I live within 30 minutes and whenever I come to town to run errands I always try to eat at Villa Del Mar. They're soft tacos for the best. The Carnitas are my favorite but it is hard to pick a favorite as everything is so good.Once in a while I will have a burrito and they are a perfect example of everything operate it should be. All the ingredients are fresh and the salsa bar is loaded with yummy pickled vegetables, radishes, limes, cilantro and a few different sauces. Cannot recommend it highly enough read more

Waitress was nice, but the garlic red snapper was tasteless. The garlic was canned/jarred/whatever, so no garlic taste, just maybe vinegar. Best part of the meal was the chips and salsa, but they were just ok. Probably won't be back. read more

What was it like inside? Bleak, dingy (kinda homey maybe?)... low light level. K, how was the food? It was "meh"... not "dazzling!", certainly not inedible. Oh, but one thing is apparently "plating" is not a thing that exists, if you ask Villa Del Mar (...I didn't ask). The food didn't exactly jump off the plate, it looked sad. It wasn't like "eat me!", it was like "idk eat me I guess, it's your life". Funny. Was the staff-person nice/agreeable/courteous etc? Not particularly, but that kind of thing has a lot to do with the person who's ordering, like how they see the world and what kind of expectations they're putting on the people around them... Ya know? Guys? Where'd everybody go?! Okay, well were they at least professional? Yeah sure I guess. Anything stand out as particularly bad? No. Good? No, not exactly. K, no more questions please thanks. Just wanted to tell you how the "wet burrito" I got: DIDN'T. COME. WITH... cheeseontop :O Kind of weird because literally every place I've ever been to has put cheese on top of my burrito, but... It's like guys, seriously, have you ever even made a wet burrito before? I appreciate these guys being there to make me that burrito when I was craving one. Honestly I probably won't go back there, but it's not because they're "so bad", it's just there's so many other places to eat out in the world and this place didn't particularly impress me, or make me feel comfortable, and stuff like that. read more

It was a Wednesday just before noon, there was one table there already, and we ended up as the only diners. It must be the case that the bees that make the ambiance, because when we walked in it had the top end of the cafeteria look for its chairs and tables. The service was attentive, but there was always 'something' that made me on edge. Maybe it was the heavy amount of fruit flies, or the sneezing and coughing coming from the kitchen, or maybe the oom-pah Mexican music (which I generally love) which was a total disconnect in a Spanish Tapas place. Where was the nylon string guitar music? In all fairness the food saves this place. A solid 4 star that can be described as 5 stars. If I lived in Ukiah, I would go back when the bees are buzzing. Because of the food.

This place is family owned amd operated and it shows in the effort they put in gor sure! A buddy and I had a rainbow roll and a spicy tuna roll, amd both werr absolutely top shelf. The owner is very friendly, the service is fast and super friendly. I have absolutely no idea why O'Haru had a 2.7 star rating but this is my third time here this month alone and it's been great every I've ever been here!
