This place was on the outskirts of town and we have a favorite in town, but my husband wanted to…read moretry something new, so we went in. It's got a bit of an old world atmosphere, which I liked. We were greeted upon walking in and seated right away. I saw an outdoor patio with about 3-4 tables occupied and there were 3 indoors besides us. Our server realized it was our first time in and was patient with our questions. She also strolled by another order to show us the different size burrito's. We went with the pizza and the non wet grande burrito. My margarita was slamming with a tajin rim and my husband really liked the tea. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our found to arrive which was piping hot. First but of the pizza and I was shocked. It was absolutely mouth watering delish. It's kinda layered with the topping, so you don't miss a thing. The burrito was pretty yummy as well but I had to add pico and salsa to it for more of a kick. The quality of the food was very good. All in all it was a fantastic first experience. We will put it on our rotation when we come into town for sure. Good eats y'all.

Ok, so I'm going to rate Tacos Tio Froy five stars, but it's because of its geographic location…read more This taqueria is located in Clearlake Oaks up in Lake County where there isn't a huge selection of restaurants to begin with. If the store was in the SF Bay Area, Sacramento, or Los Angeles it would be a solid four-star taco shop. I ordered my Supreme Burrito el Pastor mojado style from the owner, Froy, himself. He was personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. He shared with me that he actually prepares both the pastor and pollo on the traditional spits on Saturdays and Tuesdays. It took a little time (because they prepare everything fresh), but the burrito was worth the wait. The salsa atop the burrito was very tasty, as was the pork. The size was very good and the presentation was spot on. The decor inside the establishment is very authentic Mexican with artwork on the walls showcasing the Madonna and other religious and cultural pieces. The covered patio area is also very nice and the color scheme of both the exterior and interior make you feel like you're south of the border, even if only for a short while. Tacos Tio Froy is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for some good, traditional, taqueria type food.

We decided to stroll over with our dog, because she could sit with us outside on their small porch while we dined. The food and service here were supurb! We started with chips and how nice it was to get a selection of salsas and sauces to choose from. (Delicious and generous portions) I enjoyed a chile verde burrito and he had a shredded beef chimichanga and was delighted to find cheese inside with the tasty meat, the way he was used to having it years ago where we live, at a long gone restaurant in our small town. The counter service was friendly, fast, and accurate, the cooks, right there in front of us were also upbeat and friendly, and our outside delivery was pretty quick. We will enjoy coming back in the near or distant future. Gracias, Mi Pueblito, for a perfect dining experience.

I NEED TO TALK ABOUT TAQUERIA DOS AGAVES Folks. FOLKS. I…read moreneed everyone in Ukiah, Mendocino County, and frankly the greater Northern California area to drop what they're doing and listen up. I walked into Taqueria Dos Agaves a regular person. I walked out a CHANGED HUMAN BEING. The portions here are not portions, they are ARCHITECTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS. I ordered what I thought was a reasonable amount of food and the server brought out what can only be described as a small mountain range, plated. I actually gasped. My dining companion gasped. A stranger two tables over gasped in solidarity. Now let's talk sauces, because these sauces walk their own path and I RESPECT IT. Were they what I expected? No. Did I expect them to rearrange my understanding of flavor as a concept? Also no, and yet here we are. 10/10 for creative bravery. Was it a little pricey? Sure. But you're not just paying for food, you're paying for an EXPERIENCE, and possibly for two days of leftovers, because good luck finishing that plate in one sitting. But here's the real MVP of the whole operation: THE PEOPLE. The staff at Dos Agaves are so warm, so genuinely kind, that I nearly asked if I could come to Thanksgiving. Every single person working there acted like they'd been waiting all day just for the joy of feeding me. It was FUN. It was WHOLESOME. I left with a full belly and a full heart.
