I hadn't been to this bowling alley for over 20 years! I had a great time. We only bowled but next time I want to go upstairs and check out the arcade room and even try mini golf. It's a fun weekend activity to get out of the house and enjoy time with family and friends. We got a few beers, some pizza and fries. It was tasty. Staff was all friendly. The bartender was extremely rude to a group of my girlfriends and I. We bought a game of bowling then after, wanted to play pool. Went in and asked how we can get a game of pool started and she mimicked and said "What do you mean how do you get a game of pool started?", we clarified if we had to pay her or pay somewhere else then continued finally said where to pay. She continue to eye roll and mutter under her breath while my girlfriends and I took fun pics, played a game of pool, AND bought drinks . She said out loud "Oh my god". What a fun bowling alley!! Lots of lanes and very well maintained with new screens too. Also a cool blacklight mini golf and arcade upstairs. They have a full bar too! The snack bar has pretty tasty food and good prices, we had the burger with fries and chicken strips with fries. I forgot to get pics because I was hungry and it was good! Decided to have my son's sixth birthday party here last weekend for the second year in a row. And WOW was I impressed! Two young ladies and the manager (I believe) did an amazing job hosting the party. They checked in with us periodically and kept us on a good schedule with all our party guests. They even let my son take home a bowling pin that all his friends got to sign everyone complemented how great the party was, and I have got to say their wings and chicken ceasar salad were a hit! Friday night Rock & Glow at Windsor Bowl?! Who knew that this was the place to be?! Everyone! Everyone but me, LOL! A friend and I wanted to bowl and started our night at Epicenter. But after circling the packed parking lot many times, we sadly but not surprisingly found out that the bowling wait was 1.5 hours! Epicenter...also the place to be! So we stopped at Windsor Bowl just in time to snag 1 of their 24 lanes. The place was packed! It's a no-frills, old-school, local bowling alley that brings me back to bowling when I was a kid. The lanes (or maybe it's the spaces between them) are narrow so just be mindful of your neighbors, especially if you do a celebratory flail or dance after a strike. Rock & Glow is offered on Friday and Saturday nights only and involves dim overhead lights, neon up lights, and hip music beats! The snack bar sells fountain sodas (note: Pepsi brands), candy, and fast-food snacks (think fries, nachos, pizza). There are a few drink and snack vending machines. And beer is available in the adjoining bar area. $6.75/person/game (after 5pm) + $4.75/person shoe rental + a soda = a cheap night out! This is a small bowling alley, focused on family fun. I come to the bowling alley to play in a league. There has not been one person working here who doesn't deserve kudos, but two stand out to me. Cindy in the bar makes the best Mai Tai, and has always made me feel welcome. I've seen her put up with crap from people who just want to cause trouble, she handled them with grace. Linda in the snack bar always had a smile and a good word. She watches her ordering to make sure she gets it just right. They all do their best and care for their customers. The prices are good and the place is clean. read more

We visit Windsor regularly for my Husband's board meetings. Holiday Inn Express is next door. This trip we decided to check out the black light mini golf experience as well as some good bowling alley food. It's upstairs and you pay for the balls for each player and choose a putter. The machine was cool to dispense the balls. We were not disappointed. We had so much fun. There wasn't anyone else there so we had the place to ourselves. The art is really fun. It is sort of archaic animals meets futuristic machines. The music matched that as well. We finished and ordered food. It was tasty bar food and I had no complaints. We went to the arcade after eating and it is small but still fun. One of the machines wasn't working and took our credits so I went to the front desk and they had it fixed immediately and gave us double credit back for the trouble. The ladies in the front were nice and the guy serving the food got it to us really fast. We will definitely visit again. read more

Had a work event here and got gift cards for the employees. The female bartender was shaming the team because they were using gift cards. Not subtle either, very direct. Before we sat down we had a discussion amongst the team to make sure we leave a tip after using the cards but after that attitude we decided not to. Really unfortunate. read more

Customer Service here is nonexistent, the older female bartender couldn't be any more rude. Not a single smile when taking our groups order, super cold and dry and almost looked as if she was annoyed we were there, mind you the bar was empty besides us. After she gave us our drinks she rudely told us her friend was sitting where we were ordering, we weren't planning on sitting there anyways but the way she told us was unnecessary. Our group got there at 10 and we asked the guy at the desk how long we could bowl for which a female who came out of no where butted in and rudely said they were about to close, in two hours? She also looked very annoyed that we were even there. Again not a single hello or smile from her she immediately took over for the guy who was the only person who was actually being polite to us. Pre Covid, would have given 5 stars. The employees and owners were so welcoming. In fact my son took up bowling because of the proximity to our then home and joined the youth bowling league. Covid hit and monies paid for events and league never returned. Ok, spilled milk, not going to worry. Post lockdown Covid, completely different. All but two employees are a bit rude. The place is dirty! Tables are left unwiped. Lanes are constantly malfunctioning. League...no body shows up. They book other leagues without notifying league participants or their guardians. It's just sad to see this place deteriorate. So moving forward, will be going to double decker in Rohnert Park. read more

Showed up at 8:00pm to bowl. Closed at 9. We booked an hour. 40 minutes in the game stops and front desk tried to tell me I paid for 2 games with shoes. Staff guy said "it's money bro you gotta pay for it" even though he messed it up. As if he received any of the the proceeds that the bowling alley makes. Have to drive an hour to get here. Even if I had "paid for two games" you'd think the decent thing to do would be to just let us finish the game. Pretty ridiculous won't be back. read more

Fantastic bowling experience. I don't know much about kid stuff or bargain day rates or anything like that but for "bowling" you have got one of the most professional teams with well conditioned lanes in northern california. Lots' of teens work the front desk as it should be expected in a local family friendly establishment but also some of those "kids" consistently bowl 200+ games and could be a great help if you asked them. Owner is almost always on sight. The bar is nothing fancy but has what you need and the bartenders are nice and professional. Snack shop is open in the later parts of most days and actually has pretty darn good food. Proshop is legit. Super legit. If you are going to seriously bowl, tell them that at check in and they will get you on the best lanes and tell you the condition of them thus far in the day. Two thumbs up. 5 stars. read more

The lanes are in very nice condition, the equipment worked well, and we all found suitable balls easily. Great. The step up onto the lane is a bit higher than standard and all of us kept tripping for the first few frames. Funny at first then annoying. We eventually got used to it--a small detail, worthy of mentioning perhaps only if you're bringing someone a bit elderly to the lanes. We arrived for an afternoon weekday bowl and discovered that all the other amenities (snack bar, upstairs arcade & mini golf) are closed until 5pm. Mostly, we just wanted beverages. Three out of four people got sodas from a vending machine, but the last person lost their money and got no soda for their effort. Lastly, in both men's and women's restrooms, all but one urinal/stall was broken/out of service. We still had a fun bowl, but a bare bones bowl it was. read more

I love this place! So divey and tucked behind Windsor - but it's great! They often have groupons, but even full price this place isn't badly priced. We usually bowl a few rounds on a Friday during their neon nights and get a few pitchers - ends up being a fraction of the cost of a night at the other venue that has strings on their pins Rumor has it there is Top Golf on the roof now - but I will have to check this out! read more

NOTE: This review is for the new escape rooms upstairs at Windsor bowl, not the bowling alley itself, since I've never bowled here. In what is obviously a newly-built upstairs area at Windsor Bowl, you'll find a black-light indoor mini-golf course and two 'Race 60' escape rooms. My friends booked a room for a surprise birthday celebration for me (yes I'm in the upper part of my 40s and yes this is right up my alley). Escape rooms are all based on the same basic principle - you're locked in a space and you have a fixed amount of time to get out by solving a series of puzzles. These puzzles can involve any of the objects or decor in the room and your team works on decoding, manipulating, and interpreting the features of the room to find solutions. The two rooms currently on offer are Pharaoh's Revenge and Inventor's Workshop. I opted for the Egyptian tomb-themed Pharaoh's Revenge. The decor of the room, the props, lighting, sound and mechanics were all well done and challenging but fun to figure out. Of course I won't give away any details of the room, but we really enjoyed it and managed to solve it! The coordinator running the experience was really friendly and welcoming, and she was able to provide gentle nudges to us via the screen in the room. We didn't ask for specific clues, but she did let us know when we were on the right track and maybe just needed to 'think a little differently'. They said that they plan to rotate the rooms every year or so. Selfishly, I'd love to see them change more frequently. We'll be back soon to try the other room for sure. read more

It's basically affordable family fun. They've done a lot in the last few years to offer more entertainment, like adding mini golf and a game center. The workers were friendly and helpful but I found this out as we had multiple problems with their equipment. We had two problems with the score keeping equipment that required help and one with the game ticket system. The kids game set up, like most, is a complete rip off, but this was unusually cumbersome. Still issuing paper tickets, but then you have to cash in your tickets for a paper receipt that you then put into a different prize vending machine that is extremely slow and frustrating. Especially when the points receipt was invalid according to the vending machine. *during the pandemic, don't go if you're a mask stickler. About half the people were not masked and there was nobody addressing the issue Overall, not a bad way to spend a few hours in a rainy day. read more

Generally good place, old, but clean. House balls are mostly good, no top weight, so if you throw a straight ball, good for you, otherwise it is very difficult to hook. The rental shoes are, in a word, disgusting. Pins "are nailed to the floor"....very little pin action here. When I walked into the facility the smell of the oil on the lanes was gross. Great local family bowling alley. Gets a bit crowded so you have to pick the right time to go. Overall though it's a great place to go with the family. Little bit smaller than other bowling alleys I've gone to But if you pick the right time to go it will be fine. They don't have an arcade section, and the prices can be a little steep unless you buy the Groupon's that they have from time to time. I've bowled here once, but I'm not enough of a bowler to give a very useful review on that count. My score was distressingly low, but it would probably be unfair - if tempting - to attribute that to the facility. Everything was fine; pretty much in line with that I expect out of a bowling alley. I can speak more knowledgeably about the new escape rooms they have upstairs (along with glow-in-the-dark mini golf and, soon, an arcade). This was my fifth escape room experience, at five different locations, and I came away from this one pretty happy. I believe the experience is designed and installed by a firm dedicated to the task (as opposed to being designed in-house), and quality of the room and design of the puzzles was good. It felt a bit 'glossier' than other escape rooms I've experienced; whether that's good, bad, or indifferent is up to the reader. We did Pharaoh's Revenge which was billed as the easier of the two options. It still presented a fun challenge to our brilliant and dashing team of five, and we emerged with less than 10 minutes to spare. We're eager to try the Inventor's Workshop room. The person running the room was very nice and helped to make the experience a good one. She's able to communicate to you in the room by writing messages on a TV screen. We could have asked for hints (we didn't, of course ;) ) and other than that she still provided some gentle nudging or clarification at times. It's a welcome addition to Sonoma County, and I hope to make it back to try the other room, and further rooms when they become available. read more

I have been to Windsor bowl many times in the past, for bowling with my grandkids, bowling with my sisters, doing the Rock n'Bowl on Monday nights with groups and so forth. Most have been very positive experiences. I especially like Greg who has helped me with groups on Monday nights, and Jeff who runs the pro shop. The bartender is great too! My review is being written for the experience that I had at approximately 3 PM on Thursday afternoon, 12/6/19. My sister and I went to bowl and were greeted rudely by an older man at the front desk. He made snotty comments when we asked to please be placed away from others if possible because we were shy and self-conscious about our bowling abilities. He even went so far as to hold up his hand in front of my face to stop me from talking. This is no way for someone in customer service to act. I won't be going back for a while and if I do, it sure won't be in the afternoon! What a shame. Windsor Bowl used to be a sweet little place to go. read more

Not a great experience. The woman running the desk was totally rude. Brunette w/ a pony tail and wearing some Ed Hardy looking shirt. She was rude from the moment we started. My friend called to schedule a kids birthday part 2 months out and they were booked for the party rooms. She had the party at Round Table and the woman previously told her to call before they came and she'd hold a lane for them. She called before we left and the woman was rude on the phone and said we had better get there or we wouldn't get any lanes. We went over and there were lots of lanes left. The woman was short and snippy in person as well. Multiple adults in our party had bad experiences with her when paying for things, getting change, etc. Place is kind of a dump. The ceiling tiles are stained. The bowling alley floors are so worn that they are peeled and on bare wood. Our lane kept failing to properly keep score and the keyboard at our station didn't work so we had trouble adjusting it. Again we get to go and ask the lady at the counter with the attitude to help us. Same lady as the one on the phone, she is likely an owner or manager. She came over and was again rude, snapping at us when trying to explain what happened. She was snitty and rude and fixed it and left. The crappy equipment kept malfunctioning and not recognizing our balls and turns. We finally asked a guy there that was much nicer and he moved us to another lane that actually worked (no thanks to snitty). The place could be worth going if all the staff were nice. When you go bowling or any recreational thing you go for fun, not to have someone be rude. I've not had someone in a customer service situation be so rude in quite a while. Between the run down, non-working equipment and this woman's attitude, I would avoid it for now. read more

Went in on a Wednesday at 4:45 to bowl with 3 people and was told the entire center and all lanes were unavailable due to a bowling league starting. Oh but we were told we could play one game If we "hurried". Seems odd to close an entire center to the public. Poor service, rude. Wont be visiting here again. read more

Windsor Bowl is such a $hit hole!! The lanes are jacked up, the bathrooms are disgusting, the carpet is filthy, half the time the equipment doesn't work, and the place has an odor that can only be described as decomposing rodents. I can't believe this place is still open and hasn't been shut down by health and safety, YES IT IS THAT BAD!!!! Go into the bathrooms, and look at all the spit on the walls, and the feces on the floor, then go back a month later and take note that it is all still there. I use to bowl there regularly, but with the unsanitary conditions, and the declining lane conditions destroying my equipment at an accelerated rate I am done. I hope this place gets taken over very soon by someone who has some personal pride, as the current proprietor doesn't care at all. read more

They said that they don't make reservations on Mondays, that it was first-come-first-served. When we arrived they told us there were two parties reserving all the lanes. This place is FUN. I'm no pro bowler, but I can walk up to the line and roll that ball with a force strong enough to *sometimes* make a spare, and even the ever occasional strike! There is a food counter that puts out decent enough fries, corndogs, hot dogs, pizza, salad, etc. There is a full bar with 2 pool tables, and drink prices are very reasonable. Good beers on tap, decent dirty gin martini, and friendly service. The little ones can opt to have the bumpers up when it's their turn to bowl, and they have these cute little dinosaur 'slides' to push the ball down, so the ball actually gets momentum and makes it to the pins. I had my daughter's bday party here last year and the kitchen staff were extremely helpful, friendly and generous with their supplies (napkins, plasticware, etc). This is going to be a fun date night place to go, because darn it, sometimes we just want to have a couple drinks and play a few games of pool, and not have to go to the Wagon Wheel to do it. No offense to the Wagon Wheel. They have 5 great pool tables, very friendly bartenders, pinball and a shuffleboard table!
