What a great day on the course. We are vacationing next door at the Trendwest resort so I thought I'd play a round today since the weather was warm and I thought that might keep people away in the afternoon. I was very right, and I enjoyed playing a quick round. The carts seem good and not sluggish as in other places. Tee boxes are in decent conditions, some a little more beat up then others but plenty of area to get a good footing. The fairways nice and green and the rough at the right hight, just enough to penalize but still able to hit it out. The greens were in great shape with a lot of slope, which is always fun. The place is very pretty with all the water hazards. I wouldn't recommend walking but some were, a lot of the greens tend to be elevated. Over all I'd play again and if you are near and would like a nice day on the course give this a good try. read more

customer service there is horrible. Went yesterday evening. I called this morning because I lost something when I called. The guy rudely interrupted me had a rude tone and then hung up on me when I asked which cart or tried to ask which car I used yesterday. I find it extremely unprofessional and lacks customer service. Nice golf course, Friendly staff. Golf course is kept very well. There is a little snack bar, to grab something to keep you going if needed, they have beer, waters, and soda too. Golf carts come equipped with small coolers. Decent cost, if you stay at worldmark you get a Golf discount on any club rentals as well. read more

Amazing course! Lots of water everywhere so bring extra balls if you struggle around water hazards. Staff was super cool at pro shop. Getting food on the turn was a little frustrating because there wasn't the normal staff on a Saturday morning but we got through it. Course rate was well worth the experience! read more

I like their driving range. It's actually on grass and not the mats. The course is fun too. Only reason I give them 3 stars is because our cart ran out of battery on the 14th hole. Bummer we had to wait on them to bring a new one out. read more

We had a foursome yesterday. Tee time 9:40am. We walked the course. If you're a WorldMark hotel guest from next door you get 10% off green fees. Even waiting at every hole with a threesome ahead of us we finished under four hours. The back nine has more water hazards and it's an easy walking course. I'm liking it more as this was my third visit here. The morning started off chilly but warmed up soon after. There's a snack bar inside the pro shop. We got hotdogs and polish dogs and sat in the outdoor patio for our 19th hole. $5.50 per dog. read more

$90 for what? Maybe the guy in the clubhouse. He was cool. The girl in the snack bar? She was on task. It ain't for the golf. It's middle of June and hasn't rained in 8 weeks. Why is there slop on the DOWNHILL slope? The greens are bumpy as the face of the teenager shagging carts, he was good at that though. The traps are mud. In June. If you're gonna charge $90 invest some of that in upkeep. Just being close to Healdsburg doesn't give you license to charge destination prices. Players: if you are coming from out of the area play Bennett Valley or Foxtail North. Way better value. read more

Played there today, and it was beautiful. Guy in the shop was really nice! Greens rolled nice and smoothly. Sand traps were a little hard, but that didn't bother me much. Loved the up hill and down hill holes, the tree placement, and the water placement. Everything felt very well kept. Would definitely go play there again! read more

This was once one of the better courses in Sonoma County. It has now fallen from Grace. It could possibly be the worst course in Sonoma county I played this course for over 20 years. It's in the worse shape I've ever seen it. They charged top dollar and give you a crap course. The greens are horrible. I emailed the management they didn't care. This course is about average in design and appearance. The fairways could use some better upkeep with seed and fertilizer. It is one of only a few 18-hole courses around the area, so it is pretty popular and pricey for the quality. The fairways are forgiving but there are a few challenging holes. You will tee off over water a few times. If you prefer to walk the course you will get a good workout with hilly terrain. It's fun to play here, just wish the grass was nicer. read more

I've been wanting to play this golf course for years and never got around to making a tee time. A friend goaded me into playing here, she too has never played the course. And our shared judgment? Not so good. Why? The course layout is a total confusing mishmash. The driving range for a warm-up is by the 10th hole, the first hole is 500 yards away. Holes do not proceed in a logical manner. There are holes where you walk to the tee box by crossing another hole. For example, You get to #6 by crossing #16. There's lots of blind holes, where the tee shot is a total mystery where to aim. The scorecard map is so tiny it is no help to figure out the course. The course is mostly flat land, we walked without physical punishment. Condition of the course is okay, the turf is generally good, though there's lots of divots out in the fairways that are not sanded nor seeded. As other Yelpers have said, the pace of play is slow. My friend & me were behind a slow foursome. Our round was 4 hours 30 minutes. Way to long for a 6100 yard track from the white tees. My home course is Oakmont west in Santa Rosa. I much prefer Oakmont. read more

Nice course if you don't mind a racist environment. Our group of friends have played there countless times and always had a good experience. Recently, our friend who is black joined us two different days. Both days we experienced similar treatment unlike any we had ever have before. The Marshall continuously patrolled by us, would park close by and watch us for prolonged periods of time while just driving past every other group. The prejudice was apparent to everyone in the group and it was pretty sickening. Even seeing how everybody in the restaurant kept looking over at him and staring was pretty pathetic. It's 2020 and Windsor Golf Course continuously made it apparent with their actions that if you weren't white, you would not be treated like you belonged there. Pretty disappointing. read more

One of the better public courses in the Bay Area. Typical winter conditions but overall, excellent for this time of year. The course is interesting and has some challenging holes. This is only the 2nd time I've played it but will definitely play again. read more

The layout is a bit odd, from the location of tee boxes to the location of the driving range, but once you get used to it it's no problem. Played there with a group of friends on 5/26 when it was a nice hot day of about 97 degrees. The course was in good shape and we survived the round without any ill effects, in part due to an unexpected gesture by the course. On the back nine a marshal drove by and offered free bottles of cold water. Trust me, he could have sold them to us and we'd have jumped at the chance to purchase them. The fact that they were more concerned that we hydrate adequately rather than make a buck was greatly appreciated. Kudos to whomever initiated the wonderful gesture. read more

Overall, a nice golf course with a few little quirks. You start off innocently enough with a straight away Par 4. One of the nice features is that the course seems to get progressively harder, with the extremely tight #2 being the only surprise early in the game. If you end up with a local in your foursome, by all means ask a lot of questions. There are any number of places you can get into trouble if you simply grip it and rip it. #4 is a great example in that if you choose to hit straight towards the green which is hidden from the tee box, you will end up in a farmer's field on the right. Similarly, it can be difficult to figure out where to put your tee shot on #17 unless someone informs you of the fade necessary to get down the fairway and the invisible water on the right. We played to the wrong pin off the tee on #10 until we were informed it was to the left of the pin we were aiming at. One quirk is the proximity of the course to the Sonoma County Airport. Airplanes fly at very low altitudes over the course seemingly constantly. While not necessarily a distraction to one's golf game, it's not exactly the most peaceful of settings. One of the most unfortunate downsides is the lack of service. The day we were out there was no beverage cart. Additionally, instead of a full bar and restaurant they merely have a small snack stand in the Pro Shop with a couple cheap beers and the obligatory hot dog. (When are golf course owners going to figure out people want more choice than Miller, Bud, Coors and Heineken?) There is a nice restaurant called Charlie's adjacent to the 10th tee, but they don't do food for the turn. Green fees are reasonable. We paid $56 each at the absolute peak rate of Saturday morning. A good variety of tee boxes can make it fun for Beginner through Scratch golfer. A 127 Slope Rating puts it in the moderately challenging category. However, the course is also of moderate length so the ability to bomb long drives is not necessary. read more

Not a bad little spot to hit some balls. The driving range is grass so if you prefer the mats this is not the place for you as they don't have both. The ball machine takes credit/debit cards so that's definitely a plus. It's normally pretty busy here and since I like to come after work, it's kind of annoying to hit into the sun since you cannot easily see where your ball lands. That said, the course itself looks nice and well kept. I have not played here myself. Pro shop is totally hidden of this weird bridge. Not that easy to find when you drive into the parking lot. read more

Played here while I was staying nearby at the Worldmark Windsor Resort. Got the twilight special which was only $39 on the weekends. This course is pretty challenging - I'm a high handicapper and I was able to get through it but if you're a beginner, I wouldn't recommend it. The greens were pretty smooth. Hole #16 was a fun hole where you your 2nd shot has to go over a water hazard and a huge sand bunker guarding the front of the green - par is a good score on this hole. I recently brought a group of 16 golfers to Windsor for my bachelor party. From making the tee time to checking everyone in, the staff here was incredibly accommodating. Bob and Jim gave us great service and were friendly every step of the way. As you could imagine with this large of a group here for a celebration, it took us a while to navigate our way through 18. The rangers were firm with reminders that we weren't keeping pace, but were never rude in any way. My apologies if any fellow Yelper reading this was golfing behind us. Worst golf course I have ever had the misfortune to play at. The grass is over watered (in a severe drought), to the point that on a 90 degree day there was puddles of water and the grass was drenched. The staff is unhelpful and overcharged me until I questioned the $400 bill for 4 golfers. Other golfers on the course were rude and loud. Worst golfing experience I have had. read more

Played 9-holes here on Saturday morning prior to attending Barrel Tasting 2010. The rate for half round including cart was $35.00 per person, an OK price for what they offer. The driving range is real glass, which is a plus. The staffs here are really friendly. But I just don't think this place had something that makes me want to drive 1 hour from East Bay to play here again though. read more

I love windsor. better than Bennett Valley, Rooster Run, or Oakmont West - my previous home course. the environment is wonderful (hot air balloon, blue sky and green carpet), the course is well maintained, even the water for the water hazard is clean with no algae (unlike oakmont). for my skill level - 230 yd drives, 15 handicap - the course is a nice mixture of hard (e.g., hole 2) and forgiving. the greens are much more difficult than oakmont. some of the par 5s require laying up, and the bunkers are well placed to catch my drives - interesting and challenging. read more

This course is a muddy swamp in the winter time, and the rates are ridiculous at 80 dollars to play with a cart, and its cart path only. This course is fine in the spring, summer and fall. I will definitely not play this course in the winter ever again, and especially not for 80 bucks. read more

Walk the course if you're going to play here!!! The carts I had to choose from this morning had obviously NOT been clean or sanitized. They were all dirty, with beer or beverage stains and garbage left in them and this was a 8:10 am tee time. I complained to a assistant manager about the carts condition and was told they only have 75 carts and are short staffed, so they sometimes have to flip them right back out!!!!...Unbelievable that this kid admitted that they are not following proper protocols to protect their customers during a pandemic! If Windsor Golf Club doesn't care enough about my health and safety...I don't care about spending money at your golf course and neither should you!! read more

Staff was friendly, course was beautiful, and really the value is quite good if you do their twilight or super twilight specials. The only problem that I had with Windsor was that the pace was SO DAMN SLOW! I paid for 18 holes, was playing as a single, had a 2:15 tee time, and by 5:45pm I was finished...WITH THE FRONT NINE! I had to leave because I had dinner reservations to make. Windsor really needs to consider having a Marshal on the course to speed people up or assist with playing people through. But a nice golf course for sure! read more
