We both love golf but we both also have a lot of miles on our bodies after military careers, so we just don't have the ability to do a whole 18 holes. 9 holes or less is really our ability level and searching for that brought us here. We came in on an overcast weekend morning and didn't have to wait long to tee off. They did have some carts so we rented one, threw our sticks in the back and started down the course. The layout is a head scratcher, but once you get a hang of it, it's not so bad. I wasn't super thrilled with the quality of some of the tee boxes, but overall, the course was fun to play. Prices are reasonable for those looking to have a short round, and for us on the more sorta beginner side of things, the course wasn't too hard. Biggest issue we found was having others golf onto the wrong fairway, and mixed up balls I kid you not, like 6 separate times. Other than that, this was fun, not super expensive, and a great quick nine on a local course. read more

For a beginner this is a challenging course. Beautiful set in the outskirts of Sebastopol. Located at the END OF SCOTTS RIGHT OF WAY. Maps took us down a different route. Do not trust google maps. Cozy pro shop. Was greeted by a cute white dog who is there early Sunday mornings. Very friendly. Was easy to walk on instead of seeing when a tee time was available. Once the clouds burn off you can see how beautiful the course is. When it's overcast the course is rather wet so make sure you bring a towel to dry off your ball and clubs. For someone who is not a beginner it seems to be an Irons course. There is a rather large water hazard on 8 but there is also a nice fairway that runs to the right of the hazard that is easy to navigate and still get a decent score. But I do wonder how often they dredge the pond- or how many balls are in there. read more

A hidden gem approached down a leafy hidden road. Friendly, relaxed golf experience which you can feel is still run by one family, who all live and work around the Course. After the first 2 holes, the course opens up with some longer and more challenging holes. The 8th over water is fun and the 9th it's tempting to used a driver... What a great 9 hole course. Unique and fun, this course is great for beginners and still fun for the seasoned golfer. Hole 8 is a real fun one, enjoy whacking the ball over the nice little lake in the middle of the course, it really is a blast. The staff is nice and helpful and never try to rush you off the course when they are closing. If there was one thing I would change about this course, is the carts, they could use an upgrade, however, that doesn't bring down the charm and fun of this course. I suggest giving this place a shot, their twilight rates are very reasonable and it is not a very busy course during those hours, making it easy to go around twice for 18 in a few hours. I'm a 9 handicap. I live on the Oakmont west course in the Sonoma valley. I've played Sebastopol 2X 'cause I was in the neighborhood with the sticks in the car trunk. It's a short little 9 hole that'll serve ok for iron practice. A decent golfer can leave the woods in the car. Course conditions on my visits was just okay. The grass is trimmed but this ain't TPC sawgrass. Putting greens are not trimmed for competition play. For $10 & a 70 minute investment of your time this place is fun enough but a good golfer will demure to call it a real golf course. read more

Every time I'm in Sebastopol, I make a point to come to the Sebastopol Golf Course. The greens and fairways are well taken care of, the people are friendly, and for a little 9-hole course, it's quite a challenge. The fairways are quite unforgiving; a little slice/hook here and there and you will quickly find yourself in the bogey range (or in my case, rapidly going through balls). Definitely respect hole 8. It doesn't seem far, but shortchange it just a hair, and you'll be in the water; put too much on it, and you're in the trees. You can always take the option of going around the water, but who wants to do that... read more

This is one of my very favorite little courses. It's always well taken care of, the staff is always friendly and they are open on Thanksgiving! yes, really - while my turkey was in the oven, I was on the links... Fun little spot to go play, you don't need a driver, or even usually a full set of clubs to do really well on this course, and it's inexpensive and a beautiful walk around the 9 holes. They mix it up from time to time so it's not always the same course. Some holes easy, some holes challenging. Always a favorite! read more

Been to this course a few different times don't think I'll return after treated so rudely went on a holiday weekend with a friend and his little brother and girlfriend who both had never played and after waiting 45mins to tee off he refused to let my friends little brother or girlfriend play and did such by coming out and yelling at us from the pro shop we finished playing the 9 holes. we were not offered a refund for the 2 golfers that weren't allowed to play read more

If you have the chance to check out the Sebastopol Golf Course then I would say go for it; you will be happy that you did. This 9 hole course has some of the best taken care of greens that I have seen on a course of this size. Not to mention they have a 2-person practice cage that you can use with the purchase of a round of golf (9 holes is about $15, quite a deal). It's quite and peacefull, tucked away from the road and any major traffic/distractions. Beautifull trees and a small small creek run the course and with few bunkers and only one water hazard this course is deceptively easy. If you can hit the ball straight and don't mind a little up-hill/downhill then this is quite a fun course. No hole longer then 210 yards but none shorter than 114 (from what I remember). This course would be a 5 star course if it weren't for the small drive out to Sebastopol from Santa Rosa. However, if you've got the time then spend it here, one of the best bangs for your buck as far as golf courses go. read more

"If heaven doesn't have a course like this... I don't wanna go". This is one of the best 9 hole golf courses in NORCAL and I would rank it above many full 18 hole courses in the USA. The people that play here are as cool and friendly as you will ever meet. Its family owned and operated by great people. Their respect for land, their love for the game and gratitude of providing happiness to so many people sets this course apart. With a year around spring fed creek, water is always available and used to keep the lush green slopes of the fairways happy and taken care of. Under the shade of coastal oaks, firm bunkers and greens emerge that are not too fast. Flora and fauna is everywhere around the course under the other hardwood trees that will shine in full color of crimson and gold under fall blue skies. In a word, gorgeous. Do I need driver? Not if you are a long hitter. 3W at the most - instead throw in a 64deg wedge instead cause this is the place you work longer irons and hone your shots 135 and in. Hole #8 is THE best water hole in Sonoma county requiring a perfect high trajectory 7 iron from the front tees or a 3W 3H faded from the tips if the wind gets up. Food - NO, Gatorade and Beer YES. Pro shop ? Its not a full service shop but they have a great selection of last years Putters, Hybrids and Irons for sale at good prices. Carts ? - Yes this is a walkers course but an electric one is available. Driving Range ? NO, but use the hitting cage- its works just fine. Dress code... Tie Dyes and Flip flops are always welcome. BBQ pit and tables are available for tournaments too. Recommend waterproof FootJoys in the early morning - lots of dew. It burns off by 11am. read more

As a senior, I pay only $10 for 9 holes of golf on a beautifully-maintained gem of a golf course in Sebastopol. The owners lovingly care for the greens, fairways, trees, and flowers as if they were in their own back yard...which they are, as they live on the property. The staff is always courteous and kind.
