The course is in decent condition. Certainly commendable for a municipal track. Personnel are helpful and friendly. The course does get plenty of play. Weekday round will take 4.5 hours. Week-end game will take you 5 hours. I played yesterday. The weather was warm and sunny. My playing companions were delightful. My golf expertise, as it is (14 handicap), was nowhere no be found. My final score was deplorable. Yet I had plenty of fun. If you are a golfer take my word, it's near impossible to find a better course for a meager $30 fee.

This place does have a lot of beginner golfers like myself, and everyone playing the course was fairly nice. My issue was with the staff and the way we were treated. My partner had asked the staff at the front if we could play alone, since his gf is new to golf and he also asked for a cart. Low behold, they had no carts and the guy told us we had to wait until someone returned one. Then he started going off about how if he gave preference to us he would have to do it with everyone blah blah blah. I'm sorry but what? We were not asking for preference merely for him to work with us? Every other course we've played at locally has been accommodating and have normally let us play alone and if they can't at that moment, they are nice about it and will tell us if we want to start earlier or come back another time. I will also add that we choose to go at times when it's not so packed for this intent and purpose because I'm still learning so I'm not as fast as the other players neither as good. I'm not sure where the attitude came from. Especially when it appeared like they overbooked the damn course, since there was 0 carts and 0 carts to carry your golf bag!! If they overbooked that sounds like an internal problem and also you don't need to be mean or rude to new players. This is one of the main reasons women don't play golf because of experiences like this. I was shocked and disappointed at the comment because he could've just said hey unfortunately I can't right now or can you come back later or something. He acted like we were asking for special treatment, newsflash I see golfers play alone ALL the time it's really not that big of a deal or an ask... Majority of places locally understand and at least work with you. They understand if you're a beginner you might need some extra time vs shoving you in a group to get the course moving because they overbooked. I will also add that the people in front and in the back were pretty far from us the whole time so I'm not sure what the big deal was with allowing us to play alone. Anyways the experience left a sour taste on my mouth. I don't think I'd ever come back.

I didn't get to warm up but the driving range had Top Tracers in each bay. Pretty awesome when a place has it installed as it makes practice so much more fun. The tee boxes were good and the fairways good too. The greens were fast and a good challenge overall. Definitely a casual course to play on. The rough was a bit tall and if you missed the fairway good luck finding your ball. No cart beverage service during our round was a bummer as we gor pretty hungry and needed to restock on beverages. Overall great course to check off my bucket list.

One of my new favorite golf courses…read more It was my boyfriends birthday and we had afternoon plans so we arrived at 7:15 for a 7:40 tee time. I was happy to see the coffee shop was open. They were serving Starbucks coffee and I grabbed a drip coffee - it wasn't anything special but gave me the energy I needed. I was just along for the ride this time, so I can't speak much about the difficulty of the course. That said, the conditions of the course were great, and the views are even better. Our group finished all 18 holes in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. About two thirds of the way through the front 9, an employee brought us a new cart saying that ours was running low on battery. I appreciate that they were on top of that, as it would have been a bummer to get stuck with a dead cart. If you're looking for a scenic round of golf on the coast, this course is definitely worth a stop.

Bodega Bay golf links is a very-very difficult golf course. It is very hilly with many uneven lies…read morein the fairways. There is never a shot where the combination of your lie, elevation change and the wind factor hugely in your club selection. But getting to the green is only 1/2 the problem. The greens ( although somewhat smooth) are impossible to have success in putting. The greens are loaded with grain and there is absolutely zero consistency as to where it exists on the green. Zoom in on the last photo and you'll see what I am referring to. The darker areas are not wet or damp spots. That's how severe the grain is. Literally, you can have a 20 foot putt and have 3 maybe even 4 grain changes from ball to hole!!! The superintendent should get the vertical mower going asap.

Check-in was smooth but does take a few minutes to fill out their questionnaire and waiver. The front nine id say is easier and more straight forward. The back 9 is a different beast of its own. Lots of tricky shots, tight fairways, tons of slope, really tests your golf game in all the right ways. Greens were rolling pretty nice and overall we had a great time out on the course. The driving range was solid. Decent size practice putting green to roll some putts before your range. Nice golf carts too. The layout would take some getting used to because a lot of tee boxes intersect so be sure to follow the signs and don't assume the tee box closest from the previous green is the correct one. Having played Bay Club's other course, Boulder Ridge, the amenities here are a notch below. Only one bathroom (clubhouse) on the entire course, and the water is from a fountain. They got ice but no cups readily available. Luckily the bev cart was nice enough to provide an empty plastic cup. Note for next time, bring a water bottle. TLDR: Really fun, challenging course. Bring extra golf balls and a water bottle.

The driving range was pretty unique as it was hitting uphill. Although, the ball dispenser was a bit weird as I tried to buy a large bucket and it kept giving me small. The mats were nice considering it was outdoors and it also had rubber tees. The pro shop was nice and clean with a ton of clubs and merch to check out. Bought the obligatory souvenir ball. The pro shop guy was very nice and welcoming. The course itself was worth the drive. Great fairways all around. The roughs were in good shape too. The greens were superb.
