I dine here up to once a week, with family or friends. The waitstaff is AMAZING, so friendly and SO good. They are really good with substitutions or changes on the menu, so long as you ask. If something isn't right with your meal, they take it back, and usually take it off the bill or discount the bill. The manager, (Mark) is an awesome guy. The bartender, Alison, was very compliant towards satisfying my needs. I've never had a bad experience. I would recommend this place to my friends. I feel like a new me after every meal. Just left Applebee's and we had a really nice time. Our waitress Brittney was amazing. Normally I hate Applebee's because the food is just very generic but the reason it's getting a 5 Star review is because our waitress was so great. We got drinks and apps and we were slightly needy but she didn't mind. My boyfriend loved his all day brunch burger. He said it's his go-to burger here. I had the honey bacon chicken Mac and cheese. My chicken was really good, the pasta and sauce was just ok. Our drinks were good and we even got some meals to go. All together with three drinks, three appetizers, and three meals all for 58 bucks. That's honestly a steal. Not to mention we had such a nice time. Like I said before I usually stay away from Applebee's but this experience just might have changed my mind entirely! read more

Young female bartender really upset my mother while her and my stepdad were dining there tonight. My parents decided to stop in for dinner on their way home tonight from taking a trip up north. They had brought their dog for the ride because she enjoys car rides. Anyways, they parked their vehicle, left the windows open for the pup- I should also add that pup is a rescue, underweight due to previous neglect, and gets cold easily- and they proceeded inside to dine. 2 minutes into the visit, a manager comes over to tell them "patrons" are threatening to call the police over the pup being in the car- in fact it was the female bartender who was making a fuss because my mother heard her talking. My mother went out- started the car- and ran the AC for the dog and proceeded to at this point attempt to enjoy dinner. Now, why wasn't the situation assessed prior to threats being made? Do the bartenders run the managers? Why bother having managers if that is the case? I understand the "everyone wants to be a hero" mentality, but there was nothing wrong with what my parents did. The way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. read more

Terrible sat for 30 minutes and nobody came to take drink order when saying that we had no service they looked at us like aliens

We live locally and we visit once in awhile. This time I tried the riblets, I had them before and they were pretty good. This time they tasted like a boiled meat and had LOTS of gristle and little taste. The waitress was awesome, asked if I would like something else, I had a burger. The food is slightly above Mcdonalds and not better on everything either. The waitresses and hosts are fine, They do a consistently good job. The food though, jeez, c'mon corporate needs to do some mystery dining or just fire the cook or microwaver or whatever he or she is called. We won't be back for awhile, hopefully the quality, not the menu, changes. read more

We decided to order car side to go..I have done this before in the past and it wasn't bad BUT this time I could not believe how bad our order was. My $20 of steak was two little pieces that were not even cooked...I honestly think it went from the fridge to my plate..my boyfriends chicken looked old...we got our money back and went somewhere else..I see a lot of comments about not fully cooked food...I think it's time they get new kitchen staff. read more

If it was possible to give any lower of a review I probably would have the food today was not great we thought we would take a family member out for a nice lunch for their birthday and the food was cold not cooked right there was poor time management it was well worth over $100 worth of food we were unsatisfied animal is basically humped of the six meals none of them were cooked right either the bacon was forgotten on the burgers the wings were bone cold the four cheese mac and cheese was requested without chicken yet chicken was given on it the drinks were subpar I probably will not be returning I'll leave it at one star and give credit to the waitress who apologized and yelled at the grill cook for us I think the grill staff need better training and better time management skills if they learn time management the food won't be bone cold but they need to pay attention to what they're cooking how they're cooking it maybe if you get your stuff together I'll return otherwise you won't be seeing me again for a while read more

Most recent visits on 12/24 & 1/2/17 left much to be desired. Service was poor at best, food took forever and was overcooked. My husband had the "nerve" to question our server about the status of an appetizer which took nearly 25 min to receive - in a virtually empty restaurant. The delightful response from our server was that "it will be out when it's done cooking". Being a classy couple & having our young children with us, we refrained from reacting to the sassy, snotty response. The breakfast burger ordered medium was crispy, egg burned and hash brown unrecognizable. We are locals & this is a convenient spot for a meal. Two strikes, third....you're out! read more

Recently moved up to Torrington and finally decided to have a date night, so we chose Applebee's. Everything was going great, our server was Alexis and she was super nice. We order two appetizer, the wonton tacos and boneless wings. Appetizers came and one of the wings was 100% completely raw inside. After my husband bit down into he made the comment that it was ice cold only to spit it out and see a raw piece of chicken. Totally grossed us both out. Alexis came back and we brought it to her attention and she immediately brought the manager over. He gave us some speech about when they flip the baskets sometimes a piece flies out into the other fryer basket, said they were training someone new in the kitchen . Well tell them to be careful with raw chicken!!They took both apps off of our bill. Food was kind of tasteless and service was friendly. Don't think we will be returning. read more

We got here and it wasn't that busy but for some reason it took about 10 minutes to be seated then about another 20 minutes to get waited on and it took about 45 minutes for the food to come out and the meals weren't fully cooked my brother got chicken and his plate wasn't cleaned off all the way my mom got the 4 cheese Mac and cheese and her pasta was over cooked and my sister got the same thing and it was cold Everett were but under the chicken my dads chicken sandwich was cold and took about 20 minutes to get the check I would only recommend his place if u like cold food and waiting a long time. read more

In town for camp visiting day. Took almost an hour to get served our food which was ultimately a mixture of a soggy overdressed salad ( which was supposed to have no dressing), over cooked meat and cold side dishes. Friendly staff but falling very short on food quality and delivery of said food in a timely manor, waited 35+ minutes for breadsticks.

I usually eat here when in Torrington ( 5 or 6 times a month ). My wife and I went on July 4th around 1:00 in afternoon. They were not busy. We asked for a high top in the bar area, The waitress had a little attitude and said sit any where we want. After 5 to 6 minutes she finally brought menus. After 15 minutes we still were not waited on. After 20 minutes someone that came in after us was being waited on so we walked out. We will be eating at 99 down the road in town from now on. On June 2,2019 @ 1:30 PM my wife and I visited the Torrington Applebee's located at 1690 East Main St. for lunch. I asked for a booth and the hostess had developed an attitude and placed us in an obscure booth near the back of the restaurant. The restaurant was not busy and after 15 minutes no one had come over to take either a drink order or acknowledge our presence. When another couple walked in, seated by the same hostess and were afforded immediate attention by a waitress we both got up and walked out. I can say without any reservation that this had been the worse service I had ever received. We drove a couple of miles away to a 99 Restaurant and were immediately served. I will not be going back to this Applebee's. read more

So gross. My expectations were low, but the food was inedible. Double crunch "shrimp" was grey and soggy. Apps weren't cooked all the way (cold) and too salty. Service was slow and bathroom was disgusting. Looks like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall, seems poorly managed. Won't return to this location. read more

I stopped in for a lunch today and found many changes made in the restaurant compared to what I thought Applebee's was. They have new tablets to order off of, which I found did not work. I ordered my drink to be refilled and was never served a drink again... I was disappointed to see their new tablets offered games. It's like they were promoting families to embrace technology rather than have conversations at the dinner table. I found that upsetting especially their whole theme is neighborhoodsy yet they are promoting staring down at technology rather than striking up a conversation with the neighbor. Overall the food was mediocre, however I was surprised to find an affordable dessert option! A brownie bite for a $1! Finally a cheap and small version of dessert. Thank you for that! read more

Last time I was in an Applebee's was the flagship one on 42nd St. several years ago. Not for me, just average. I go here 1x a month for dinner . I like the burgers, the appetizers and specials are always good . I like the salads, steak dishes, wings , and shrimp dishes , brownie bites with ice cream the best ! Friendly staff and I like the waiters and waitresses ,always personable . Lots of tvs in the bar area. very affordable, (without alcohol. ) I switch out fries for veggies or salad and they don't charge you for the switch. read more
