Meatball and sausage/onion calzones, excellent!
Kelly H.

Our moment of fright came when the new menu didn't list calzones, but our worry was quickly assuaged when the waitress said they were still made, and our meatball and sausage/onion calzones were great as always. The place is casual and traditional; you get bread and butter before the meal, and salad or soup come with the pasta (lemon and buttery chicken francaise and linguine, yes please!). They've updated the decor in the last year or two with brick panels--not too high end, but cozy--and neat wood slice feature walls. The bar and bar tables are more contemporary though, and there's a decent beer and wine list wherever you sit. The staff is always kind. I don't think they've been short with us even on a busy night. I've ordered the vegetarian pizza with bacon, wanting the combo, and didn't get a funny look for my odd request. The food is Italian (comfort for me) with a long pizza list, and they have pick-up or Grub Hub for dining in. It's more casual than Portofino's, and the kind staff and satisfying food favorites keep us coming back.

Linguine gamberi

I came here for my grandpa's birthday. My family lives close to this restaraunt and comes here a lot. I'm from New York and this was very good food. I didn't try the pizza but my family loved it. All the dishes were excellent. Huge portions and so affordable ( I'm used to NYC prices so this was really a treat) Service was great and the waitress brought over bread right away. I had the spaghetti and meatballs but asked for vodlka sauce instead. Soo good and tons of sauce. A huge bowl of spaghetti which is what I was looking for. The meatballs were very good a bit small compared to the massive amount of pasta they were in. My dad had the veal special which had artichokes and mushrooms on it in a lemon basil sauce. I had some of it and it was very good as well. Warning though the sauce was extremely buttery and rich. My mom got the linguine gamberi and it was delicious with 6 huge shrimp fresh mozz and proscuitto. Was huge also and so affordable. The veal parm and eggplant parm looked good too. We had 10 people and the restaraunt was accomadting and brought out a slice of chocolate cake for my grandpa's birthday. It was all so nice. Come her for a warm family meal. You will leave very full and happy.

Don't get the negative reviews. The pizza and the wings were outstanding, with generous toppings on the pizza. The prices are pretty decent too. Definitely try if in the area.

Medium Tomato Basil Pie - enough for two really hungry people.

Excellent Food, but the wait staff are mostly stiff, perfunctory and not friendly. The chicken Sioux is some of the best!

I love the hanging lights over the bar, the really add light without making the space too bright. We sat on the couches next to the next place and although it wasn't lit, the vibes were sooo cozy. As a tequila girl I went for the maleficent. It was sweet and the lavender really added to the drink! I typically like to try different drinks but I stuck to this one all night. Our bartender was so friendly and quick! I'll definitely be back soon!

Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots. He gave us the rundown of how you're actually supposed to taste tequila. And I have to say I've never had an experience like that before. I wish the party didn't stop and I will definitely be coming back specifically for Agus and of course the drinks!

The space is vibrant, with high ceilings and comfy quilted bar stools. I got their charcuterie board which had some tasty cheeses, salami and delicious prosciutto, etc. I also got their horchata, which I never had before, and it was very tasty. This is a Mexican, rice drink flavored with cinnamon, I really enjoyed. They have fun music playing here. My next time at The Industrial, I got their Mary Y Sol and my friend got the New Brit. I really enjoyed Mary Y Sol, its a subtle sweet rum, cocktail, sweetened with pineapple and coconut. It's a very different type of sweet. I really enjoyed this one. The New Brit was also great but the Bourbon base was too strong. As much as I like their vibe and their craft here, the service is lacking. I asked for water three times, and it never came. It also wasn't particularly busy. This is a huge turn off, especially for a brand new place. This is a beautiful space, that's bringing new attention to Downtown New Britain. I wish the bartender was a bit more attentive, a little smile never killed anyone. This a new place worth checking out, but their service could use a little attention.

For the price we paid, we were definitely disappointed. The tamale was essentially all dough and barely any chicken... and the fondue that was supposed to come out with artisan bread and fresh vegetables came out with crackers and basically all broccoli. The ratio of cheese wasn't even enough for us to dip everything that it came with. The cheese itself wasn't bad, but the broccoli had some dark spots and didn't seem the freshest. We were curious about the chocolate fondue, but after not being happy with our lunch, we decided against it.

Very personable and driven to make sure we were pleased. The food was great! We got there in time for happy hour, my favorite!!! We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, the best we've ever had! I actually don't care for them, but this chef changed my mind! We ordered a plethora of wings; Garlic Parmesan, Peach Habanero and Sweet Chili Thai Wings, all of which were big, not dry, and perfectly glazed. We also ordered the Goat Burgers that we had to bring home. The kids scored those! Plating was to perfection and definitely impressive. We will definitely be back with family and friends! Honestly, after reading the reviews, I wasn't too confident I would even be able to eke on in for dinner, but my God was I able to get in, and thank the LORD I was able to find a parking spot with such a full lot of cars! What started as a solo trip to J Timothy's became a welcome table event when fellow Yelper Angie showed up with her husband and invited me over to their table. I'm SO glad we were able to have that happen! It became one of the best post-event dinners I've had yet. It did take a bit of time to decide between the three of us, but we eventually split our checks, with me taking care of my order and Angie taking care of the rest. We had Kate as a waitress, and might I say, she was not only nice and efficient, but she was very knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful and accommodating. I immediately requested a take-out box and she delivered just like that. She was even knowledgeable on what foods and such were made in-house and what wasn't, which is honestly very impressive! Also note, we all got to have a taste of everything that came in tonight, so we got lots of food to get to! We did have the wings for our appetizers. I did the 10-wing Dirt Style Honey BBQ Gold for mine, and they got I wanna say 20(?) Buffalo wings. They were cooked to perfection, and I was able to twist the bones off the flats. Both flavors were good, but even though it could possibly be my bias talking, I did prefer my flavor of wings. I will say the Buffalo had that signature spice level there, but it didn't overpower the wing, which is awesome! Oh, and there were also the potato skins which was rated perfectly, and that tasted really good as well. For the entrees, this is why I immediately requested the box. My order was the full rack of ribs. Angie got the chicken pot pie. Usually, I don't eat pot pies, but the one Angie ordered was honestly very good. Flaky, buttery crust top, and savory filling or chicken, potatoes, peas, etc. As for my ribs, whenever I tried to cut them, all the meat kept falling off the bone! That's how you know it was cooked properly! And dear God were these ribs were delicious, succulent, and delicious! Did I mention they were delicious? The BBQ sauce was a symphony of bliss that helped make each bite of rib taste like I went to Cloud Nine! The coleslaw it came with was good, but it's not something I would say can compete with the South. But good all the same. Drinks were great too. I got the Dragon Fruit Martini(?), and that was sweet and relaxing to have after a long summer and a long drive to Plainville. Oh, and we also got dessert! Again we picked different things: Angie ordered the "Not Fried Chicken" while I went with the Key Lime Pie. Wherever these guys get their key lime pie from, keep them coming and let me know so I can get some more myself! The raspberry sauce was a great choice for accompaniment and complimented the pie nicely. And the slice was divine! The Not Fried Chicken is a very innovative idea, and it tasted good as well. I can see now why this place gets so much love. It's insane how good this place is in just about every aspect! The sink did take a bit to learn, but that was about my only criticism, other than that this place easily gets 5 stars from me, and I am so glad to have had this dinner with Angie and meet her husband. #KeepYelping

We chose booth seating on the 2nd floor, which was cozy, and boasted a cool view of the downstairs area. For my beverage, I chose the Cherry mocktail, which was oh so fizzy, refreshing, and a nice mix of sweet and tart. We shared the Chili Dirt Wings and Fried Calamari. The Wings were fried twice and generously sauced. They were satisfyingly crispy and full of bold flavor with a bit of a kick. The Fried Calamari was light and crunchy. I had a tough time selecting my entree, but finally went with Taverne Grilled Meatloaf. This dish consisted of beef and pork meatloaf, loaded mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. The Meatloaf was cooked perfectly on the char-broiler, giving it a slightly smoky taste and bit of caramelization, then smothered in a tomato glaze. Meatloaf was delightfully tender and well seasoned. Loaded Mashed Potatoes was mouthwatering, covered in melty cheese, bacon, and scallions. Veggies included carrots, zucchini, squash and had a great consistency, adding a fresh element to the dish. For dessert, I had to get one of my favorites: Sticky Toffee Pudding. Their version was a moist, dense sponge Bundt cake with caramel sauce. It was decent, but overly sticky sweet even for me. Service was solid. Our waitress was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything came out in a timely manner. If I return, I would want to try the Shepherd's Pie, Boneless Braised Short Ribs, or Pierogies and Kielbasa.
