We had dinner at Applebee's on Friday, 4/18/25 prior to attending the Santana concert at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheater. We had a terrific dinner (Fish & Chips, Appetizer, drinks & dessert). The food was fresh & tasty. The service was even better. Our Server, "Felix", was amazing - very personable, efficient & helpful. When asked a question about the food prior to ordering, if he wasn't sure of the answer he would check with someone rather than just give a generic answer. Felix checked throughout the meal to be sure that we were satisfied with everything. Most importantly, Felix obviously enjoyed his work (we noticed that he gave the same personal attention to all of his tables which was most impressive). In addition, the Manager stopped by our table so that we could tell him how much we appreciated our Server. read more

So we get here about 4:30 and the restaurant is almost empty but we're told there will be a 30 minute wait because they are in the middle of a shift change and have no servers. What kind of management allows no servers to be on right during the Sunday dinner hour? THEN... Didn't have any hot tea because...their hot water wasn't working?!?!? Microwave? Hell, even a pot of water on the grill would work... Finally got seated and served after waiting 30 minutes. The food was ok... The food was very blah. All the meat was weird; dry fish, fatty steak, weird tasting steak. Our service started out really nice but once we got our food, we were ignored for a while. My man's steak wasn't edible so he had it remade. When the manager brought it out he just dropped it off. The food is usually great but this location is horrible. I called and let them know I had arrived at the estimated pick up time. Another 20 mins passed. I went inside to talk to someone and they said my order hadn't been started. I let the girl know if my order hadn't been started they could go ahead and cancel it. I've asked to talk to a manager after my online order was not ready on time. The manager never surfaced to speak to me and there were no concessions offered for my food being so late. When we arrived we were seated right away. All the staff was friendly and professional. It wasn't very busy while we were there. The server took our order quickly and we got our food very fast. Again, our waitress was friendly and fast. All of our orders were correct and all of the food was good. ALL YOU CAN EAT - Saw the all you can eat ribs, chicken and shrimp deal on a commercial for $12.99 and automatically I had a craving I had to relinquish. Proves I am a sucker for marketing. Or I must have been hungry when I saw it. Nevertheless, ended up there on this day for lunch. I asked for the Texas BBQ flavor ribs, with no explanation of how this all you can eat deal works or what flavor options available, my waitress told me that I could ask each time I order. Well soon after, out came a plate of meat, with fries and side of coleslaw. The ribs were pork ribs, but were NOT the ribs I had in mind. They were not baby back ribs or even spare ribs, they were pork button bones. What are PORK BUTTON BONES? When the spare rib is trimmed the small feather like bones on the bottom portion referred to as "button bones". It was tender and soft but I reminded me of the McRib. The ribs were soaked in a generic tasting BBQ sauce that had a little peppery bite of spiciness. The fries were kind of tough and didn't taste fresh. They did not have a crispness like they were out from the fryer but dried and tough like they were sitting under a heat lamp. Slaw was not actually that bad. It was not drowned in slaw juice. lol. It tasted more salady. At least it added a little crunch of freshness. Ordered another round and got boneless wings (another marketing scheme to make chicken nuggets sound fancy) Out came another plate full with fries and coleslaw and the meat. Great, just what I needed, more cardboard sticks. Didn't know till after that the meat portion could be ordered alone, fries and slaw did not have to accompany the protein every time. Boneless wings were just heated up balls of pre-frozen breaded meat. Pretty basic. Next ordered shrimp and Zesty Asian ribs.The shrimp was ok. I think these were the only things that were cooked fresh because they were still hot when we ate them. Asian ribs had a generic sweet chili sauce on it but a little sweet to be slathered on ribs. I think the shrimp might have been good with a side of the Asian sauce used for the ribs. On a sidenote: I found it weird that they served MOIST TOWELETTES on the plate with the ribs every time. The towelettes sank into the sauce. Not sure why they could not give them to you on the side or upon request. This is like a plating faux paux right? It was overall MEH. This all you can eat is all I can regret. I think the coleslaw could have competed as the best part of the meal. I might have been expecting too much from Applebee's but all in all, it tasted like cafeteria food. read more

Horrible everything! Waited 30 minutes for our drinks, 45 minutes for cold food and another 15 minutes to get the salad dressing for our salads. Helper couldn't bring it to us because the server didn't add it to the order? What kind of garbage is that?? And then charged us for it! The booths are beat to hell and the bathroom is dirty. Do notttt come here. We got on the waitlist and everyone was going in before us, an HOUR later.. we had to ask what's going on and why nobody is calling us in. The guy just looked at the list and apparently had us marked off as if they already had called us in. But NO ONE ever called us. They let in everybody in before us even the people who came way after us. If we never came in to ask, we would've waited the whole night and nobody would have called us in. Pathetic service. Closest location to my home, so I gave this place a try on more than one occasion. The first few times, no issues. Tonight, I received my order of a chicken quesadilla without any salsa or sour cream in the bag, so I returned to ask for the condiments that go with the meal. The manager Justin, had someone bring it out to me in the waiting area. I get home with the food, and halfway through eating, I find a plastic wrapper of some sort in the salsa, I'm assuming it's from the bag that their salsa comes in. Definitely could've got lodged in my or my child's throat, and could've turned into a Medical emergency. I hope they discard the salsa for the night for the safety of others since I've called back to let the Manager know what happen. I even offered to bring the food, and salsa back to the store which would be me returning to the store for a 3rd time tonight but the manager said it wasn't necessary and had offered me a refund within a few business days. Although the manager handled the situation professionally, I will not be returning to this location and now I do understand why this particular location has a 2 star average rating. read more

This review is for the Applebee's at 59th Ave and Peoria in Glendale. I ordered a meal to be delivered. My food was prepared exactly as I had requested. It was very very tasty. I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint was with the driver who didn't follow instructions for delivery and caused my ice cream for my dessert to be melted by the time he finished wandering around and finally found me. I popped the ice cream in the freezer and by the time I was ready for it, it was frozen again. This Applebee's also has wonderful dine-in service as well. A great spot to get your food! read more

Got charged for dressing when we ordered a salad, they claimed it was a "side". Seriously? Was told by one waitress that she couldn't bring us salad dressing because our waiter had to ring it in. Well things started off rocky. The table they sat us at was extremely dirty but several tables around us were clean. The place was not busy, very few patrons but we did come in at 7pm on a Tuesday night so maybe that is the norm at this time in this area. We were driving from Mesa to Orange County CA so not sure of their busy times. Anyway, hostess had us stand there while she cleaned the table, that was fine. She was sweet. Then came the train wreck we couldn't jump off of. I ordered the bourbon chicken & shrimp but STRESSED for the mushrooms & shrimp be completely cooked separately away from my chicken & onions. First plate the sit in front of me is chicken smothered in shrimp with the onions & shrooms on the side. Next dish they bring is a plain unseasoned chicken breast with shrimp, onions & shrooms off to the side. Not the bourbon chicken I ordered. I asked if there was any sauce, bourbon sauce, sweet Thai chili sauce that we just had boneless wings rolled in for an appetizer. He says well we have Heinz 57. I said um no I want some sweet Thai chili sauce you just rolled the wings in. He brought me a butter sauce. What the actual heck? He says this is the sauce we have for chicken. She finally brought them and I asked for BBQ sauce & straws 4 TIMES mind you we ordered another drink and it yet to be wrong AGAIN until we finally told the server we just wanted our bill. Since my first review of this location this place has gone DOWNHILL by a lot! They need new management here, it seems that they don't know how to run this restaurant. There is always CRAZY wait times when there is tons of empty tables. The excuses are "servers are doing something else" or "we are short staffed." It's always the same excuses. Why do we still come to this location? Because after a few months we forget why we hate coming to this location until we arrive and see empty tables and still wait 30 minutes for a table for 2 even after we see group after group leaving and no one being seated. Manager is never to be seen. I always appreciate the other Applebee's locations because there's always a manager checking on their guests. Not this one, he probably knows he will hear about how awful he's running the place. read more

Okay, let me start with I was ready to give this Applebee's -5 stars!!!! Here's why.... so my friend and I walked in and decided that we'd like to sit at the bar! So to the bar we went, there was a server there however she (didn't ask her name wish I would have now but she sucked anyway) didn't speak, she was doing what I'd like to call busy work...wiping down stuff that already looked clean. The vibe to me was she just didn't want to be bothered. So maybe 5 mins later I heard Her co-worker Ariel (loved him) say "do you wanna grab them or do you want me to get them started???" she was like "you get them" with out even looking up!!!! Ariel came over and was like "hey, I'm just helping her out..." I cut him off and was like "ummm she was rude I don't want her" (if you have meet me you know I'm not with the Sh#$) So he was like well this isn't my section and I asked where his section was and we promptly moved one table back so we could be treated like the paying and tipping customers we are!!! ARIEL was amazing like AMAZING! He was busy but still was on it, had it NOT been for him I more then likely found somewhere else to spend my money! read more

We were socially distance from tables, and I hope this will continue. The service was very attentive. The food was hot and tasty. Price is always reasonable, and serving size is so wonderful that we take food home. The only trick was which door to enter, and I'm still uncertain why the front door seemed rather unwelcoming with piles of papers. Trifling, the bathroom looks as though it hasn't been cleaned in days! On the way to the bathroom there is a group of flies and gnats flying in a circle as you walk through to get to the bathroom. The waitresses literally stand at the front and gossip. Instead of keeping a clean establishment. I and my fiancé order the 8oz steak the sides was okay. They didn't sear, our steaks and the broccoli was dry. In certain sections it smell like spilled alcohol. The floors at certain tables have spills on the floors. A smaller footprint than other Applebee's we have visited. Kathy was our server and very attentive. She suggested soda refills and brought them quickly. Very friendly. We were there with our 3 teenage grandchildren. One had the quesadillas, another and my wife had the chicken Alfredo, the other had the chicken tenders. I had the 6oz sirloin steak with cole slaw and fries. Everyone loved their meal. Must be a Spanish area as lots of Mexican music is played. The only regret was few customer left their seats to exit wearing their masks. I would still recommend this Applebee's. read more

Besides there being a bug in my food we had a server who was terrible at listening to what we were asking for. I had to ask for water 3 different times. My dad ordered steak and was served without a knife and steak sauce. We had to ask a busser to grab our server for us because he does not check in on us. Our server was Isaac and he just doesn't pay attention to anything we ask for. Our steak was well over cooked when we asked for medium rare! I'm extremely disappointed with the service we got here. The wife and I thought we would stop in and have the all you can eat wings, riblets and shrimp. WOW, this might actually be the worst food I have eaten in a long long time. How bad this food was, they should have charged $7.99 and given you back $7.98. If they don't improve the quality of the food, I don't see them staying open much longer. I mean there are too many choices just up and down 75th ave. Could have went to Texas Road house which is always a home run. Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn steakhouse, Chili's, Hooters, even Whataburger. All of those places to eat are way above the quality of food you are going to get at Applebees.
