My computer is better but I'm livid. I had never gotten a text message alert that access was blocked to someone trying to get into my email before today, after my computer was dropped off at this store. I called and stated these facts (had to be forwarded to 3-4 people explaining the same thing over and over before getting someone to actually talk to me about the issue). Mike, the manager I spoke to was rude and defensive from the first instant. I was hoping to hear that something similar had happened with another customer that he could have shared to allay my concern. He directly asked me right off the bat if I was accusing them of something and I directly said that I wasn't. The two voice conversations that I had with Mike will attest to the fact that I stated the facts, expressed my concern, and asked if they had an explanation for these facts. I even forwarded an email that came from Gmail at the same time as the text so they could help me determine what had happened. Also, when I picked up my computer, the attitude of the woman who gave it to me made it evident that she had heard an earful about me from him before coming out. She also said that it was in my notes that I asked for the software NOT to be updated due to the email 'accusation' issue. Again, at NO point did I say anything even close to that. I brought it in to be serviced! And, on top of that, the notes were also obviously inaccurate, because the computer was in fact upgraded... I welcome and encourage someone at Apple headquarters to listen and assess the two consecutive calls. Training in customer service 101 would have made this go a lot more smoothly. read more

I highly recommend not coming to this store because of the ridiculous amount of rudeness and unwillingness the employees (including the managers) at this Corte Madera store give off. Was there on iPhone launch day and a whole bunch of customers were talking about how they were disrespectful to people even just standing in front of the store, asking for reservations, etc. Making a return is also a problem so if you are indecisive about which product to buy and you take one home not liking it, don't even think about returning to them because all they'll do is make it a problem and accuse, make fun of, stare, discriminate, etc. No matter whether you report your experience to apple customer service or not, they don't take action or accountability for what they do wrong. Managers at the corte madera store need to be demoted for sure. Terrible management and to be honest some employees are fine and do provide support when a customer needs it but it's the managers who don't treat customers with respect. Feel free to report the store because I truly believe they need new management. I hate to see other customers go through what I and other customers went through at this store. read more

I have been shopping the Corte Madera store for the past few years and it is usually a madhouse of humanity. Some of the employees are fantastic and others not so much. My real issue is with the Apple support or lack there of. For a company built on fanboy-fangirl enthusiasm you would think they would covet the opportunity to interact with their customers. That just isn't the case any longer. The service is usually underwhelming, frustrating, and off target. The experience to simply wade through the automated system to get to a human sets the tone for frustration. You no longer can speak directly with employees in a brick n mortar store so you are usually at the mercy of customer support until you are willing to travel in person to a store. The products are still fun, most of the employees try although some are arrogant beyond belief if you are not a fanboy or fangirl, and for the most part the technology remains the draw. But if you are really in need of help, it's a tough road ahead. read more

Got there at store opening today for a simple replacement under warranty. The store was open with maybe 3 customers inside and perhaps 12 or more employees busy with sanitizer but not helping anybody. Nobody in the appointment line and 3 people ahead of me in the "walk-in" line. There was a guy working his way down the "walk-in" line making appointments because they were not taking ANY walk-ins. I was browsing through the apple store online, and noticed the colorful pride apple watch band, and I was unsure of what size to get, For $115 I wanted a size that would fit me, I went to the apple store after work, and feeling lost, I walked around, hoping to insert myself somewhere so I could purchase the apple watch band, and thats when I heard the sincerest laugh, and saw Robert, with the apple watch band that I was seeking! He made it a very joyful transaction, First we needed to determine what size wrist I am, we used a special tool, and I did not know how to navigate it at all, I wore it so close to the edge, Robert noticed and humorously asked me if I wear my watch like that normally, and we both laughed because it was definitely not normal. LOL, Next we found that I have the wrist size of 3-4, (the smallest they had was 1) I told Robert I felt self conscious cause Im 28 yrs old with a wrist of a child, and he kindly reassured me that it was completely okay, It was all in good fun though. They didn't have the size 3 and I didn't want to wait, I ended up purchasing a size 2 band! Great Interaction with Robert and I wish I had more money to spend so Id have more time with him. Based solely on the iPhone 6 launch, Corte Madera's Apple Store did a great job of organizing the chaos. I was one of the lucky millions that managed to place a pre-order but was forced to do an in-store pickup for whatever reason. The last time I waited at an Apple store for an iPhone was in 2008 and although fun, it was something reminiscent of Black Friday. I figured if I got in line by 6:30am, I'd be fine since doors open at 8:00am and I already placed a pre-order. Even though I was running a little late, I managed to get there by 6:30am and I was 10th in line. It's important to note there were two lines; a general line for those that did not pre-order, and the pre-order line. The general line had a good 200 or more people hoping to get their hands on a new iPhone. Apple was kind enough to supply free coffee and a marketing team from Double Tree hotels was handing out their signature cookies as everyone counted down to 8:00am. As it got closer to 8:00am, more and more Apple employees began to come out and three minutes before 8:00am, Barry Bonds cut me and 300 other people. Once the doors opened, Bonds was first in and immediately taken care of. A few minutes later, I made my way in and a employee pulled up my order and by 8:13am, I had my new iPhone 6. So I have a pair of Beats they are about 5-6 months old. The wire that runs through the piece that wraps around your ear, broke. No misuse or pressure, just normal putting on and off. Probably really cheap metal is the cause, I bet lots of them are experiencing this failure. Went into Apple store around 10:30 today and as usually, it was very busy. I talked to a clerk and showed her what happened and she looked on her scheduled and said it would be about 1.5 hours before I could see anyone. I said that it seemed like just a simple replacement for a defective part and couldn't I just get a new one. No, I needed to sit down with someone and fill out forms and then it would be mailed to Beats and I would need to wait for them to evaluate them and see if they could be fixed. I next asked for an appointment so I did not have to wait 1.5 hours or that I be provided the forms to complete so I could quickly fill them out and leave them. No can do on the forms, have to do it with an employee. First available appointment, Saturday at 1:00pm. It is Wednesday by the way. Apple, you have a defective device, do not make me wait 3-4 days to meet with someone to fill out some forms so I can wait several weeks more to hear whether you can fix the product or will be giving me a new one. You have an obviously bad product here and need to make this easy for your customers, not create more problems after you have sold a defective product. This mall overall is very "high end" and being not blonde and blue eyed, I can definitely say we get looks for just being there. I went into this store to look at a few things as I was weighing my options on what I wanted to buy and had a few questions. This store, although busy was adequately staffed to handle the large volume of people. I stood at the same computer for almost 5 minutes waiting for someone to come and touch base with me to at least ask if I was doing okay, but once a worker finished with one client, they beelined the other way. We had to chase workers around just to get someone's attention. I would've bought what I wanted then and there, but am not going to support a store that ignores customers. Too bad people judge others by the way they look, I value quality not quantity and am willing to spend money for something that is good quality so too bad they missed out. read more

I have an IPhone 6 and went to get the battery replaced. After being told it would be 45 minutes I waited 1 and 1/2 hours. When I went in to check my apt had been canceled!! They did help and told me to come back in three hours. When I came back Apple said my "water sensors" were on and they had a refurbished phone for 325.00. They refused to put in a battery. Came in for a walk in, usual 45 -60 minute wait time. I was helped by kyle. We talked about my phone and how my Apple care is used up. I asked him how could that be, and he said "Look, i'm not going to argue with you". At that point I asked him for a manager and he threw my phone across the table back to me and stormed off in a fit. Manager didn't come for at least another 15-20. He was able to help me more and was a sign of real customer service. However it is sad that if you have an issue at the apple store, most employees tell you that you have to spend a ton of money and never ever believe what you are saying if it something against their employees. I went with my father to purchase an Apple Watch and a new IPhone for his business. As well, we had to update the current IPhone 8 he had that was having technical issues. I have to say I was not looking forward to it because my father is not a very patient man, and I knew that the process could take time and for the non-tech savvy(my Dad) , be a bit of a challenge! Yesterday was the worst experience I have ever had at an Apple store. I purchased a laptop and was having the data moved from my old laptop. The tech "genius" was useless and had no idea how to problem solve. She only knew to say I can't do that... She left me sitting outside in the 85 degree heat telling me that I was not allowed inside the store. And she could not give me any personal assistance. What is her job? I asked to purchase 2 power adapters. She told me that she could not get them for me and I had to make a different shopping appointment. I asked for a manager. I have recently upgraded to the iPhone X. Being a part of the upgrade program I have turned in my iPhone 6 at the end of transaction after completing the data transfer at the table. I should have known that something was not being handled right when the associate said "I guess, I'm supposed to take it now" when I handled the old phone to her. Fast forward a week or two, and I get an email from apple saying I have one week to turn in my old iphone. At that point I realized that the associate at the apple store did not know what she was doing. Very disappointing and surprising at the same time. I now have to finish payments on my citizenone loan, and there is nothing anyone can do. Lesson learned: demand receipt/proof for anything that you do there, and do not assume anything. read more

I went in because my iPhone 6 dies at 80%, and the GPS doesn't function. They told me the only option would be to replace the phone entirely. Seeing how I would hate to buy a whole new phone to discover that it works equally poorly, this sounded like a pretty bad deal for me, the customer. If I were to buy a new phone, why not buy one that works reliably from another brand? Sure apple products are user friendly, but they don't stand behind their products when they don't work, and they seem to stop working rather often. Service in Corte Madera makes me hate Apple. They so worthless and selfish in some cases. Just a few people there care about customers. I brought my laptop to estimate repair couple weeks ago. I waited for appointment and all of that. Price was close to $1k so I took my time to think about it. I brought laptop today and A boy with appointments tells me that I have to wait around for 2 hours and wait for their text when I need to come back, because their system erases everything that is older than five days. I'm there btw with a toddler and a stroller. Not like we're so sorry we such a crappy high-priced services. Entitled attitude like it's not a big deal to make people wait for 2 hours. We go in and they tell us to check in, so we do and they say a 15 minute wait and ask us to stand near the iPhone table. After standing there for 15 minutes watching blue shirted Apple employees wander around seemingly aimlessly, we find a different employee and tell them we're waiting. Only then we get "help" but ultimately no help and they tell us to go to AT&T store so we do and they have one person and one manager helping one customer but tell us each session takes 45 minutes so they can't help us because they close in 30 minutes. read more

Went here to get my husband a new phone since he had a gift certificate for the latest iphone. The store was super crowded when we arrived. We also had our dog with us and one of the workers told me it was ok to have a dog in the store when I inquired about their pet policy. Some of the workers gushed over our dog and some of the customers came by to pet her too so it was all good. Anywho, it took us about 45 minutes to get a new phone. We were put on a list, waited a bit, was seen, discussed about phones and cases we wanted, got the phone and case, had a short tutorial and inputed info, and then off we went. Go to another Apple store if you can!! For anyone who is sick or disabled, you have to walk far through the mall to get to the store, making it had to carry heavier items, such as iMacs to the store. This store doesn't have many of the amenities that the other apples stores have such as an actual Genius Bar, making repair services sower and their knowledge of products is lacking. Most of the staff are very young, undertrained, and seem as through they have just been hired. I imagine they have a high turn over rate. Most of the staff seem as though they don't want to be there. I have been to many apple stores and this one seems to always have confused employees, long lines, and staff who are undertrained and seem to be reciting from the user manual. For example, I just dragged my iMac into the store to get it repaired under warranty because it is faulty. I was 20 min early and they told me I couldn't leave it there for a moment while I went to my car to get my phone. So I had to lug it back to my car. Logically, this rule makes sense, but courtesy should over-rule here. These things are heavy! Especially when the parking lot is so far. When I returned to the store on time, the guy who said he had checked me in actually hadn't and so I had to wait some more. Overall, I ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes past my scheduled time. Most Apple stores I've been to have far better service, way smarter employees, and see their customers on time. After all, what's the point of forcing people to scheduled an appointment if you aren't going to see them on time. read more

I just had an incredible experience at this store getting a repair with help from Coltey. He was very kind and helpful- spent an hour with me working on getting my trackpad and keyboard working again by fixing a wire mishap. The total charge was going to be $87, but he talked to the manager and got my price down to $11 total. He spent an entire hour working as quickly as possible with me, got some crucial components fixed, and I paid all of $11 for it. I'm not one to typically write reviews but I had to for this experience. Saved me so much money and made the process entirely painless. Thank you Coltey! P.S. Apple store was courteous with COVID precautions. Did quick fever and symptom checks. Appointments were required so the amount of people in the store was limited. Unfortunately, this Apple store continues to 'wow' customers with service when making purchases but sets a different standard when customers are needing direction and questions answered post sale. Beware! Don't get me wrong when I say "I love being treated aggressively by store staff". Brought MacBook in to have an issue with the fan fixed, they replaced my logic board without warning, which mean I lost everything I hadn't had a chance to back up. Worst of all, their repair team was completely indifferent and I never got the promised call back from the manager. Lesson learned...go somewhere else. My first time in an Apple store, pretty impressed with the mob of customers they had. This place had like 40 sales reps running around the floor helping people, it was nuts. I pre-ordered all my stuff with their business team, and picked up our merchandise without much hassle. The Parking lot to this shopping plaza is a joke though. The spaces are so small they are only suitable for small cars. The worst was when I blew out one of my tires hitting a huge pothole in the parking lot. read more

I had a great experience picking up my new iPhone 6 today! Yes, there was a small line when I arrived 90 minutes before the store opened because I knew there would be a line today. I was pleasantly surprised that they opened early. The woman asked me if I had ordered my phone already or was just going to buy one. I told her I had ordered it and she brought me right into the store. She assigned me to an Apple employee who help me set up my new phone and answered all of my questions. It was terrific customer service. I would definitely return to this location. The only issue I had was that they didn't have any cases for the new iPhone 6 models, nor did they have any screen protectors. I don't like to write negative reviews unless it's deserved. I go in on time for my appointment dealt with 2 people who were awesome. I then sit and wait for my tech. He comes, sits across from me and reviews the notes of my issue. Without even touching my phone he says "to replace a phone it is 599 and someone has to pay for that and it's not us" serious?! I didn't even ask for a replacement! I want it repaired... a phone that is faulty! I explained to him my issues..again ...and what has been done and again he responds "I don't feel comfortable to replace your phone" Again, that's not what I asked for I just want resolution! He goes to the back and has me waiting for nearly 20 minutes before he comes back and says it's the provider I have or it's "you". Wow again you haven't even touched my phone to see and you come to that conclusion? Respectfully, I responded to his conclusion and he sits there rolling his eyes brushing me away. I didn't raise my voice I didn't disrespect him nor did I make a scene but he insults me by saying It's not that I don't believe you it's that I have exhausted all avenues for resolution. Again, you have not even looked at my phone! I left and called to speak to the manager and they couldn't even find my appointment he must have deleted it! Got to the store for Genius Bar and after waiting 30 minutes decided to fire up the new computer. It wouldn't turn on so who knows where the data migration is. I bought my iWatch online and picked it up here. The pick up process was very quick. I showed them my ID and order number and I was out of there with my watch in 15 min. After a month of purchasing the watch the glass shattered. It's understandable giving that I'm a very active person and I'm always bumping into things. I probably bumped the watch several times and it faired well but I remember the time the glass broke was when I hit it against a metal table. In the laws of rock, paper, scissor I guess is the metal beats glass. So I went back to the store to have it repaired without an appointment. I checked in, they had me sit down and within 30min I was tended by a staff member. They shipped my watch to have it repaired. I opted to have it brought back to the store instead of shipping it to my address. It would take about three to five days and within third day it was ready. They didn't repair it instead it was replaced with a new watch. I thought the iWatch would be more durable considering the the caliber of the Apple brand and of course the price. I could have given the store one star for the broken watch after a month of purchase but I value customer service above all and the staff at this store was very pleasant. Today I finally was able to get a ride from SF to the Apple Store in Corte Madera to return/exchange an Apple Watch I received from my daughter for Christmas. I had called Apple.com on Dec 26 and entered the Order number, Serial number and all other info that was requested. I was directed to take the Watch to the nearest store. There was no mention that I must do this within 14 days or I would not be eligible for a return or exchange. For me that is the Corte Madera Store. I had bought a computer from this store in the past and Katherine was very helpful and a joy to work with. Todays experience was the exact opposite. A young man greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I told him what had happened and that I would like to return the watch. He said that Apple will not take back anything after 14 days. He went onto say that they had extended the return policy by 7 days for Christmas but that I was outside of that time period also. I explained that I do not have a car and this was the soonest I could come in. He looked at the box and the wristband and said that I should not have opened it. I explained again that it was a Christmas gift and that it was way to big for my wrist. I asked if I could exchange it for a smaller watch or towards a phone. He said no because I had opened the box. I had given him the Order # and asked for a printed receipt so I could sell it on Craigs List ...Nope he could not give me any proof of purchase. Let me back track to give all a little history!! I have been a good customer of Apple for 30+years. I have bought several apple computers. 20 or more for my business and personal use. I have always had Apple i-phones since the first day they became available. My daughter was raised with Apple products. I am a stock holder. Needless to say I now have an Apple Watch that is way to big for my wrist. The other part of the Order has been on Back Order and not even arrived and because I opened the box on Christmas Morning it is useless? I am stunned and sad that this Company that has been such a large piece of my family for so long is so uncaring. My hope is that it is just this store and not the whole company. Come on Tim help your customers! There is another review on this Yelp site regarding agism and that is how I feel that I was dismissed because I am an older woman. Here is the rub Apple. My mother went for help to this Apple store. After waiting 1/2 hour for her appt...started late, she was greeted by a genius guy that was rude as soon as he walked up...an attitude that was oh geez I have an old lady! Well my mother might be a senior but she is sharp, smart, kind, and friendly ... and, she knows Apple products, has been buying them for decades. The genius bar man was horrendous to my Mom. He asked what was wrong and she was explaining the issue and he yelled at her to speak up. Dismissive, condescending, verbally abusive, and then just walked away from my mother saying he would not help her leaving her alone with no help. At first, being such a nice person, she asked his name...his response 'you don't need to know or worry about my name.' WHAT A JERK! He grabbed the computer from my mother while she was trying to explain what was not working. She said please let me explain and his response was I don't need your explanation. She said: 'This has happened before and she was able to fix the issue, but she need a little help and it should not to take long.' His response ... 'yeah, everyone says that.' After the genius guy walked away, and waiting another 1/2 hour my mother asked someone at Apple to find her someone that could help. Again, she waited. Finally, a woman came over and was quickly frustrated and this woman said this is not an Apple issue and too bad she could not help and no one would help me. My mother said ok.
