I a custom spec MacBook Air through Apple's customer service and requested it be delivered to the Avalon store so that I could take advantage of an appointment pickup that included 30 minutes of setup at the "genius bar". I left without the MacBook after an hour or so because there was no direct support from the staff. The genius bar was basically a couple of apple store employees trying to assist well over a dozen people; rotating between them. There was certainly no one on one support but for maybe 30 seconds at a time. Perhaps my expectations were too high, or I was led to believe there would be a short 'sit down' with someone to help me log in and familiarize myself with the product. The MacBook was almost $2k plus monthly subscriptions. I had a terrible experience. It really is disappointing because I still need a new laptop and was absolutely looking forward to this new MacBook. Shame on them for providing the exact opposite experience that many others enjoyed. They even stated that my 14 day return window started the day I placed the order and already had 13 days on the clock, so 1 day to evaluate. I would have left with the MacBook and tried to book an online session or returned to the store again with a 2nd appointment to get setup assistance but the team lead said he could extend that window but could not offer anything written, only a verbal 'I got you'. Well I've been dreading this and putting it off for some time now. But it was finally time to upgrade my iPhone. So I bought the new phone on line and made an appointment with the Genius Bar, took a deep breath and went in. What a very pleasant experience. I told them what I was here for and within minutes out came my new phone ( already paid for online). Justine was the floor Manager that was helping me and was just plain awesome. Knowledgeable, very pleasant and anticipated every question. After getting the accessories out of the way ( glass covers, cases, new charge cords and nightstand charging station) she turned me over to Xavier the Genius Bar associate. And what a Genius he turned out to be. So after a few questions we had a game plan. He would do the entire data migration from the old phone to the new phone right there in the store. What a seamless and amazing process. The timer in the little window said it would take about an hour to move everything to the new phone and suggested I go have lunch. Perfect. After a nice lunch (my next review lol) I went back to the store picked up my phone and was one happy camper. Just a fantastic experience all the way around. Terrible service this week for my water damaged iPhone. Checked in a few minutes before my 4:00 genius appt but when I was "helped" my phone was never looked at and I was sent to service. Went to a sales table as directed where no one helped me for 15 minutes. Many green shirted apple employees walked around talking to each other. I even reminded the man who had sent me there after 9 minutes that I was still waiting. He promised the team was in the way. When I started to leave I was approached and was told that I could get help. The young man did not offer to use either of his 2 devices to get info from the primary account holder ( my husband). At and T requires an extra security step and we needed that code but I had no phone to call him. The employee showed me his personal phone and the store obviously has access but he did not offer. Despite the store being very crowded, we still received great service. I really thought I took more pics but apparently, I didn't. This location has a nice open layout with apple products displayed on tables. There's also a huge display screen on the back wall. Read this if you're coming to this store for support: This is my second bad experience in a year, so I had to leave a review. I booked a Genius Bar appointment to transfer photos from my iPhone to my Mac. After waiting for my scheduled appointment, they told me they don't do that in-store because they're not comfortable handling customer photos. I get that--but if that's the case, I shouldn't be able to book an appointment for it online. They suggested I call Apple Support instead. So, they had me sit in a corner and call, which is ironic because I still had to share my screen with them. (For the record, my photos are just normal PG/PG-13 memories.) After an hour on the phone, support couldn't help me either. They told me to go home, update my iPhone from iOS 18.1.2 to 18.1.3, and call again. Apple stores are great for buying products, but not for support. Thankfully, I'm slowly leaving the ecosystem. No more Apple Watch Ultra, no more AirPods, no more Apple Music. Just need to replace my MacBook Pro in a year or two--then the iPhone. And this is coming from someone who lined up for the original iPhone in 2007 and was 4th in line. I had to get a new iPhone as I completely destroyed my previous iPhone 14 Pro Max. Parking: I parked along the street and paid the meter. Please be aware, they are considered digital parking meters so everything is cashless with an app. Staff/service: The service was fantastic! Stopped in here today to help check out some of the new Series 8 Apple Watches. We are planning on getting our mother's one updated since hers is 3+ years old and dies regularly. When we walked in, it's basically sensory overload. People everywhere, conversations happening so you're immediately in a brief stage of panic and anxiousness. Luckily, I hear a voice ask me if I needed help. It was Doug, who listened to what I needed, understood the guise in why I was bringing my mother there and connected me with an expert...while telling her I was lying to my mother so she could evaluate watches as a "favor" to me. Thanks to Doug, we were talking with an expert within a minute tops! Kash was super helpful. She was patient with us, answered all of our questions, and also took the time to show us different sizes, models, and bands. I have to say, standing and helping our group (totally lost and indecisive) that she never lost her cool. Total professional. We left with a lot of knowledge and she also sent me a review of what we looked at so I could share it with my brother and we can plan accordingly. Cool stuff! I love this location! It is in a beautiful outdoor shopping center called Avalon in Alpharetta. The lines can get long on the weekends but they move quick. I came here to purchase a new phone during summer 2022. I was debating between different models, the iPhone 13 I currently own or the iPhone 13 with the nicer camera. I opted for the cheaper one. I went in to have my screensaver replaced. I bought a new 16 Pro with case & screensaver. When I walked into the store the greeter (skinny, black kid with glasses) told me I had to contact Belkin for warranty. After a brief exchange where he and another coworker made light of the fact that I could either contact Belkin or pay them again, I left the store. They apparently thought they were pretty slick making this older guy either jump through hoops or pay again. As I turned to leave, the kid yelled sarcastically at me to, "Have a nice day". I'm not a frequent shopper at the Apple Store, but I did have a positive experience this time. I was having issues with my PowerBeats earphones, and they were still under warranty. I went online and chatted with someone at Apple who told me that my earphones would need to be shipped back and I could do so at the local Apple store. They made an appointment for me and sent me on my way. When I showed up for my appointment, I then found out that it basically placed me in a queue to wait for Apple Specialist. They then found me in the store and took my headphones in the back to evaluate the issue. Of course, it couldn't be repaired in store, but rather would need to be shipped back. The impressive thing was that I dropped off my headphones on a Monday, and they were ready for pick up on Thursday or Friday. The disappointment we have with this location is beyond disbelief. After being a long-time Apple customer it is time we focus on purchasing electronic devices built to last and not placing the blame on consumers for poor quality. Firstly, the sales associate Robin wasn't very friendly from the start. Setting that aside, the issue at hand was the iPad was replaced less than 8 months ago. A complete replacement that shouldn't have stopped working after only 8 months. The iPad replacement wouldn't power on. Robin requested to take the device in the back. She stated the damage is to the pins and that was the reason the iPad wouldn't power on. This issue is what Apple deems to be physical damage. The pins for a completely replaced iPad shouldn't have stopped working within 8 months. That's unacceptable, poor built product and blaming the consumer for a pin that defaulted within 8 months. The problem is Apple promotes purchasing a replacement is a great alternative to a repair situation. When in fact it's false and misleading, the replacement product comes with only a 90 day warranty. If any of the parts allegedly replaced defaults, they will not replace them and the consumer is invited to purchase a new replacement. Requesting to speak with the Senior Manager "Jeff" at the Avalon location was even worst. He questioned me "whose fault was it that the pin stopped working?" Of course, as a longtime customer in this situation, I asserted that I didn't feel like I did anything wrong. The pin shouldn't have malfunctioned this soon! The iPad replacement was poor quality and the pin defaulting shouldn't result in me having to replace the entire iPad! The Replacement offer from Apple has is a complete setup and not honorable to the consumer. I didn't feel comfortable purchasing another replacement that could potentially have the same malfunction. The experience was embarrassing and very disappointing. Apple refuses to accept any responsibility for poorly built products and defaulted materials. That's unfortunate and I will stop at nothing to voice my frustration and experience to the highest level of government officials regulating this type of abuse!!! read more

I went to the Alpharetta Avalon Apple store twice and instead of offering me a repair, they decided to sell me new pairs of headphones The AirPods Pro costs almost 270 dollars, but it wastes money. You'll have to buy new headphones as soon as the warranty expires. Mine lasted a little over a year. Think twice before buying these headphones. Or be prepared to change them every year. read more

While Apple stores are known to have busy periods on the weekends, I've always had good customer service and support. Yesterday, I came in on a Sunday to (1) trade in my old iPhone, (2) transfer service and data to my new iPhone, and (3) purchase/install a screen protector on my new iPhone. Sounds simple enough- it takes 30 minutes. Krupin helped with the first half of the process and was great- explained all the steps and asked through the process if I was OK with the following. Once service was transferred to my new iPhone and it was almost done with the new software update, he transferred me to Ashley to put on my screen protector, continue the software update, and lastly transfer data from the backup (pictures, contacts, apps, etc). Without asking any questions, Ashley turned off my new iPhone mid-software update and rushed through putting the screen protector on. In a panic, I asked her if it was OK to turn it off mid-update. She brushed me off with horrible attitude and said it was fine. No next steps, no follow up- nothing. She walked away and left us with a phone that did not turn back on to resume the update process. We sat there for 20 minutes not knowing what to do until Krupin, Yukio, and Lemon all had to work with us for an additional HOUR AND A HALF to undo everything manually and set me back up. They were extremely apologetic and supportive- and agreed to give feedback to management that not asking customers what they came in for, what is currently happening with the phone, and if it is OK or not to turn it off IS NOT OKAY. This was a horrible experience and I hope Apple better selects and trains their employees. read more

I was surprised to see the lukewarm reviews here, but was desperate for a Genius Bar appointment, and this was the first one available that I was able to get within the Atlanta area in a reasonable amount of time. I had dropped my phone for the 100th time this weekend, and somehow managed to break my back camera. This is a tragic mishap, especially when you are an avid Yelper, and cannot take pictures! So I was hot to trot to get this phone fixed, although dreading the cost of it. The wait time was not bad at all, maybe ten minutes from my designated time. The guy who helped me was so kind. He was great, and he even cleaned up my daughter's ipad screen as well as mine. I was worried about the cost, but it was only $85. I was expecting a lot worse or having to buy a new phone. He said there was the possibility of losing anything that wasn't backed up, and also the chance my little crack in my screen could worsen. But nothing happened! He said it would take two hours, and he was right. But I get it...they are super busy here. The only thing I found annoying was there was a woman speaking over a microphone talking about a new app and showing how to use it. But she was super loud, and it was difficult to even hear yourself above her. I think it's nice they are trying to get you to learn about new things, but I wish she could tone it down just a touch. Also, what I love about this store, and the Avalon in general, is that it is very dog friendly. So you can bring your dog into ANY store on property. If you are a dog lover, this a real treat, because my dog love to go everywhere. I found service to be fantastic, time quoted correctly, not charged an astronomical fee, and they didn't lose any of my stuff on my phone...so I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. read more

The employees here are actually helpful, and not just salespeople. I only get a new phone every 5-7 years and came in pretty open minded. As I explained what I was looking for, the employee showed me some tips on how to make my phone faster and said I could save $100 on the same phones if I came back in a few weeks after the next Apple launch. I give 4/5 because prices are still crazy high, but the experience of buying a phone is much more transparent and less stressful than it used to be. read more

I would give 'em five stars, but there's an employee -- a talented, well-versed employee -- who teaches class center/rear with a microphone, that made the place overly noisy, and well -- hard to hear my 'genius.' (That's what they call the techs, right?) So, they have a $29 battery replacement program in force till the end of 2018. At a $50 savings, it's a deal worth pursuing. And I have to say, Apple is totally organized and efficient. Make an appointment, come at the appointed time, return when directed (generally an hour and a half later, but no longer than three hours) and voila, you're ready to roll. I'm a technophobe -- actually a techno-idiot -- and the staff couldn't be nicer or more obliging. As others reported, the space is large, airy and pleasant. (Don't forget noisy.) While you wait, you can shop at the myriad of stores in Avalon. And one never has to twist my arm to do that! read more

Went to buy a phone today, they didn't have what I wanted, I get it the new phone is popular but the guy I was dealing with seemed a little confused and another guy jumped in. He was very smug and condescending towards me. I get that Apple is the greatest thing since sliced bread but this guy was an a**hole. Ultimately I left without a phone and checked their website. Horrible customer service! I made a special trip to ask a few questions before buying a top of the line Mac Studio Ultra & monitor, an $8500 purchase! Instead, I was met with unfriendly, unhelpful, disrespectful, lazy staff, which at best, just seem to be going through the motions. Either all Apple stores are going down like a burning ship, or this particular location is the worst Apple location to exist. I have been an Apple customer since 2004 and have gone to their stores domestically and internationally. I came here to purchase an iPhone 13 Pro Max 250+GB. I decided to trade-in my previous iPhone and data transfer the existing 100GB of data, that's less than 50% space usage for the new phone. I even took the time to clean out most of my old data for the transfer to occur properly. The sales person was unusually rude and didn't know any of the specs of any of the devices we inquired about. Then when I decided to purchase, they said it would take 2 hours, but come back at 4just in case. I told him that he could give me a call on my business phone or an email when it's done or if they have issues. He said "it's not our policy." I gave them 4 hours and when I returned they said it failed to transfer, and I can either leave my phone overnight and possibly get it properly transferred over night, or reverse the trade in. If I reversed the trade in I would not be able to transfer my phone for 6 months. Not to mention they broke my current phone case. Not only did they rob me of my entire day, they left me in a worse position than I was before coming. Thanks Apple of Avalon.
