We purchased a XS Iphone with a screen protector, this was something Apple sold to us. If screen cracks "Apple" (not belkin) will warranty the screen. After the screen cracked we did what they said to order the new screen and go to Apple and they would install it. Once we received the screen and went to the Apple store, Apple employees made it seem like they were scared of even touching the iPhone bc they don't warranty belkin (even though they sell belkin) instead of just taking care of it like good customer service, they came up with a million reasons why they could not do it. 3-stars because only after we asked management why the sold a product they don't warranty did they finally take care of it. read more

So there I was, my iPhone 6S had burnt out it's battery, one of my friend's is a tech guy so he lets me know the battery just dies overtime or when exposed to a lot of heat: which, in Arizona, is pretty common. So all I need, literally all I need, is the battery replaced. I call ahead thirty minutes before I arrive, ask them if they can do this, they say yes and tell me to just bring it in. Now when I finally get there and find someone to help me, after awkwardly insisting he know my name, which isn't 'customer service' it's trying to establish some kind of awkward relationship: I want my product and I want to leave, period. Anyway, he asks me if I have an appointment. From his name, I know this guy is the same person I spoke to on the phone - and he never told me I would need an appointment, or even offered to make me one. So after a wait, I go meet with who I assume is a technician. He tells me they cannot replace the battery on my phone. I ask why. He says it has been modified through a third party, and therefore Apple cannot even touch it. I'm confused. I bought this phone, unused, brand new, from a provider. So I tell him that's not possible, unless Apple themselves are packaging modified phones and giving them to their customers. He reinforces that, the screen was bending off, and iPhone screens never do that, and the only way they can do anything is to fully replace the phone. So, I leave. I go to a third party phone repair store and ask the manager there. He says it is an iPhone, it hasn't been modified, all iPhone screens will bend and break if subjected to the heat mine was, and he fixed all of it on the spot for half the price. He tells me Apple does this to a lot of people, he used to work for them, and they just want people to buy their new products. I hardly ever buy phones, I buy one every couple of years: best believe I'm never touching another Apple product after this. Scam, absolutely disgusting and a complete, utter waste of my time. This was my first visit to this Apple Store at Arrowhead Mall. This was not by choice. This Apple Store just so happened to have my communications toy I was looking for. I was attended to as soon as I walked in. I told the nice gentleman what I was here for and he pointed me over to where I should stand and wait. The closes Apple Store to me is located at the Biltmore on 24th St. and Camelback. I don't often have reason to head out to the northwest part of the valley. Yesterday was one of those days. As always all Apple Stores have a lot of customers and it's like there is a sale going on for expensive electronic toys. I guess I am one of those customers but, I am an Apple fan and I don't apologize for it. I don't know how the Apple Store employees are able to keep a smile and be helpful at the time? ABSOLUTELY hate this store! I've only been in about 3 times to this store but there is a reason for that. All 3 times I've ever been to the store it seems no one wants to help me. Everytime I've been in, I stand there for 5+ minutes with no one to help me. Not even a friendly "hello". My most recent visit was to just simply pick up a new phone case for my son. Walked in, waited, and waited. Numerous employees would walk by, have direct eye contact with me, and continue to ignore me. People who walked in after I had arrived and waited were getting helped right away before me. I really don't like making an issue because I've worked years in retail and I know how it can be. But customer service is a big deal to me and if it's a terrible experience, I will give my opinion. Otherwise how do you learn it's a bad experience. But I decided to let a store employee know that I had waited, was never greeted, and had other shoppers helped before me. This is the last time I'll ever go into this store. I will only go to other ones I've had better experiences at or shop online. Here's are the facts: I migrate to apple back in 2010 when my galaxy s5 overheated one day and there was no replacement available at the Verizon store here in Arrowhead, but one of the sales reps recommended to switch to the brand new iPhone 7 due to the new ip67 water/dust resistant rating, The second number in the IP rating pertains to how well a device is protected from liquids (think soup, milkshakes, beer and, of course, water), A rating of 7 indicates that the device is protected from immersion in liquids at depths up to 1m for a time period of up to 30 minutes, Pretty convincing, matching my personal needs I had nothing to loose, and with the 14 days of satisfaction bring it back guarantee it was unbeatable so I decided to explore the iOS world. And the rest is history! I can honestly say that I'm a very satisfied customer after all this years, many many iPhone upgrades Macs iPads headphone watches etc became part of our daily life's for me and of course for my family we were and still are extremely happy with the premium hard to match quality that Steve Jobs created. Now in 2020/2021 during this pandemic the newest and greatest got released once again and now with an improved ip68 rating An IP68 water-resistance rating means that the device being tested can at minimum withstand temporary immersion in liquids at a maximum depth of 2 meters for up to 30 minutes. For the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the rating is even higher, at 6 meters for 30 minutes, but is still considered IP68 level protection, FANTASTIC RIGHT?! Well not to fast! I have never been a fan of refurbished devices but hey! It's better than paying a full amount for a Brad new one so if you have to deal with a few lemons so be it! With the back ups Available and all passwords secured now you just have to worry about Apple Pay and that's about it! Not biggie ! Well about two weeks ago I dropped my phone on the tile cameras first and completely demolished the rear glass, luckily I always have apple care . So I went to Arrowhead and the entire transaction went smoothly and very pleasant as always. Now all I had to do is go home back it up and back in business! And that's exactly what went on! A few short week later we were out having some family time and some water splashed over my phone for a few minutes, I honestly didn't think of anything with Many many MANY water encounters using my devices I didn't even considered anything. Well by the end of the day Hours later I set up my sleep music on my AirPods and before I enter my sleep , I noticed my music got paused so I thought I don't changed my pods so I rolled over and went to bed! It wasn't till the next morning when my phone died during a call I was a little irritated about it but even than it never crossed my mind about liquid damage or anything like that. Well moments after realize that the rear and front cameras were foggy and at that point the phone had enter a safety mode, by turning the device off over and over to prevent further damage. I made the arrangements that morning to revisit the store one more time to share my experience, I knew based on previous experiences that they were gonna do the right thing and make things right, Instead they guarded themselves with the fine print and with a very cold and short sentence I was waved another refurbished device and I was told that I shouldn't be using my phone the way I have been for the last 9 years! .... WAIT?! This is an ip68 higher than my iPhone 7?!! Wait what if it was human error while refurbishing the device? I was told that apple is perfect and there's no margin for error while reconstructing their devices! So sad huh? After all this years and nothing but enjoyable moments this "BAD APPLE" was trying to ruin my pie! But instead I stayed calmed I repaid the $100 dollars once again than the manager said wait! I feel so bad for you guys let me give you 50% off would that make you feel better?! Dude! You just crashed popped and burned my bubble! It's not about the money Sir, it's actually insulting! It's about how this got handled! Never once apologized for the inconvenience never invited us again it was extremely draining and disappointed. I'm not going to mention any names I don't need anyone to reply back all I want for the upper management is to utilize this experience for better coaching and training, listen to the customer so you can respond to the situation instead of REACTING, the customer is not always right but we are always going to be the customer! If you're hoping for customer service at this store... Forget about it. Being that I'm tall, I'm able to listen over people's heads. I was ear-hustling about 3 customers in front of me and I heard the Apple "Greeter" turn away everyone in line in front of me with various rebuttals... If I was to expect a different outcome for myself, I would be insane... But I'm not. Lol I asked for the manager and Aaaaaaah (insert sound of the Angels singing)... Yeah right! 45 minutes later the manager appears and talks to the Greeter and tells her to check me in for a walk-in appointment (this would entail a 2 hour wait). So... I wasn't going to just sit there and pretend that I couldn't hear him talking about me less than 5 feet away. I look up and said, excuse me, are you the manager, and he says, "yes I am. We went there because my daughter brand new iPhone X screen went dead after having it for only a month. She has a protective case and there was no water damage (iPhone X is water proof). The screen was blank but the iPhone was working because it still made noises. We didn't have an appointment and were originally told it should only be around 45 minutes to and hour wait but we ended up waiting for 4 hours. There were a few employees chatting with other employees during our wait but they were unable to help. They just appeared they were trying to look busy. Once we were helped, they took the iPhone and said it would be ready the next day because they would repair the screen in house. The following day we went back to the store and this time we wait again for another 45 minutes before anyone would assist us. We told them we were there just to pick up the iPhone X but because we didn't have an appointment we had to wait because people they didn't have enough staff. There were a couple of employees doing nothing again except standing around taking to each other about their weekend. When someone finally saw us, they said the screen was broken and they ended up giving us a new iPhone X. I was on crutches and this location is in the mall and they made us wait a ridiculous amount of time. As many products has we have around the house (phones, Ipad, computers, etc.) I really don't consider myself an Apple acolyte. It's a qualtiy product that has become a meaningful part of our everyday life, much like a toaster-with apologizes to Mr. Jobs. The P(rincess) added another notch in the yearly belt in January and decided on getting an Apple Watch based on a conversation at a Christmas party a few weeks earlier. It was now past Valentine's Day and we still hadn't made it to an Apple Store to look at watches. She picked out a perfect rose gold version for her dainty wrist and I picked up a replacement Magic Mouse for my Mac. The watch itself is truly amazing-especially that she did 99% of the set up herself and she is NOT that good at things like this (no insult intended, its just not an area of interest for my beautiful wife). However, the main purpose of this review beside the amazing innovative toasters from Apple is their industry leading customer service. They hire and train the best customer service people around. We had the nicest young lady (name started with a J-I can't remember the entire name and it wasn't on the receipt). She was phenomenal, juggling about four customers at the same time with equal parts smile, intellect, and understanding. I love it when people love their jobs (and others). Retail is getting harder by the day and when you see it done right, there's still hope for humanity. I don't know if Mr. Jobs set out to create this type of service but someone at Apple clearly is and to them I say, well done- both on products and service. read more

How is it they don't have spare batteries in their store for all of their products. I would hardly think an iPhone 6s would be ancient technology. I was having a problem with my MacBook Pro. The cursor was freezing up and the trackpad was not responding. I tried to problem solve by watching videos in YouTube and Googling the answers on how to fix it. After different attempts to fix it, nothing was working. The cursor was still frozen. I gave up, went to the website - support.apple.com. All I wanted was to make a reservation at the Genius Bar so I can get help. As I was trying to make a reservation, I was getting stuck on on a profile that trying to solve my problem, it won't continue and load up to make reservation for the Genius Bar. My frustration was getting high. Again , I called the Apple Store at Arrowhead Mall. When I called, I was on hold for 40 minutes until someone picked up and helped me. Spare me Apple, spare me. Went into this store to get batteries replace on an Iphone 6+, a 6S+, and my 7+ and get the keyboard fixed on my under 12Mo old Macbook 12 with stuck keys- 2nd time in service during my first year. Thanks to apple trying to rip off the consumer by slowing down old equipment 2 out of the 3 phones are dragging, bad. News of the so-called $29 replacement seemed like a way around the Apple-imposed throttling we're suffering from. Plan was, drop off the gear, go to dinner, come back and hopefully we have working equipment like we paid for, quickly, quietly and without having to listen to absurd excuses. The first problem is the silly apple scheduling- talk about a PITA. The scheduling system MAKES you choose ONE day to replace the battery. Fine, did that. made 3 schedules around the first one so I only have to go and sit in that Apple store (which resembles a giant white kindergarten playground) for only an hour, Apple wants you to spend the entire day with them holding hands. PITA. I get there, with all my new but broken apple gear, get to the used car salesman OOPS I mean the Genius, 1)- had to listen to this stupid over-the-top pitch about Apple's fancy diagnosis and "how Apple would NEVER force anyone to spend money they didn't need to!!" and how the new software would cause the older equipment to "shut down" and sat there and listen to this whole pitch about how the magic apple diagnostics says "Phone is just fine!" and no batteries are needed. Salesman also made it a point to bring up this new banner indicator that says "New battery needed" - which, in my years of Iphone ownership I have never, ever seen even when the battery was truly bad- they probably added it after the scandal hit. 2) Literally that's what the guy said- what kind of corny pitch is that?- No, I don't believe you, or your magic diagnosis machine. Your contrived answer really makes me think you're hiding something because it simply doesn't make sense. I do think they just changed the definition of "bad" to a lower standard, to avoid having to eat all these batteries that are coming in, and to obfuscate the fact they did brick the phone. If their diagnosis all of a sudden says it's "Fine" then you can't accuse Apple of bricking the phone, now can you? A bad battery easily manifests itself with early shutdown, says 25% then drops dead. Your car will start one minute, then not the next. Your remote control on your TV will respond the same. Every bit of battery powered tech in our lives does this. It's what batteries do- we all know this. When your gear becomes outdated, it lags. That's another fact well known by people who use tech gear. Apple has simply given the iphone symptoms that look like outdated gear in hopes you upgrade, that's all. 3)- On the 2nd claim, if Apple's new upgrades causes the older equipment to shut down and malfunction- WHY ARE YOU STILL SELLING THE OLDER EQUIPMENT? The 6+ and my 7 are all still available NIB. 4)- THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE BATTERIES TO INSTALL. So, go to the store, have to hold hands, waiting there sitting on a crate, for a long time, wasting your day only to get schommozed by the car salesman, and only to find they didn't have anything to offer. Total waste of time. I hate going to the Apple store, hate sitting all day waiting on a wood crate, hate the pitches and frankly the product has turned to garbage as of late. I was once convinced it was good product, but now it's just a really expensive Microsoft. Constant problems, things quickly break, etc. etc. The store was dirty as well, fingerprints everywhere, wouldn't look out of place in a 3rd world bazaar. We love looking at the new Apple devices every time we go to the mall! It's a must! 20 minutes ago upon an APPOINTMENT to make a return I was harassed for wearing a bandana as a mask by this store. They REFUSED to finish processing my return and harassed me. Like many during this period I have respiratory issues. Also if my bandana was an ISSUE then why was I graciously walked into the store by an associate? The manager NATALIE was no help in solving this issue and I now won't be purchasing ANY apple products.
