Absolute Garbage - Don't Waste Your Time at This Store If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Every single time I go to the Cox store on West Bell Road, it's the same ridiculous experience. You walk in, and there are five employees standing around doing absolutely nothing. They're either chatting with each other, pretending to be busy, or looking at a computer like they're solving world hunger--meanwhile, customers are waiting forever just to be acknowledged. This place is the definition of inefficiency and a complete waste of time. If you actually need help with anything, forget about it. You're better off calling Cox customer service (as painful as that is) or just driving to another location. I don't know how this store is even open with the way it's run. Bought a new modem elsewhere. Cox said I had to bring my old one in & so I did. They were wrong and that night Cox support could not connect my new modem over line so I went the next morning to pick up my old modem. They had sent it on a truck and could not get it back even thought it should not have been turned it. I explained everything & they gave me a modem to use. The online techs could not get it connected. A tech came out & found that the modem I was given would not work. He had another one and that one finally got connected. Cox charged me $100 when none of this would have happened if they didn't erroneously request my old modem and also gave me a modem that did not work. The tech was very nice and said Cox would not charge me since I had no choice but to have someone check to see why nothing was working. It had nothing to do with what I had done or anything to do with the equipment on my end. The tech was the only helpful and respectful person. I called Cox and was bluntly told that I would not be refunded. Even thought it was no error on my part, I did not pay for extra coverage so the $100 service fee remained. I am extremely disappointed with the way this entire matter was handled. read more

I don't get it. In my opinion this was not just a good company but for me an excellent company until the very last moment. I was a snowbird in Phoenix and setting up an account, getting the service installed, using the service was top notch. After the 6 months I easily set up our cancellation date, returned the equipment and supposedly that was that. As I was finishing the process I asked the rep how I was going to get my $50 deposit? He said it would be refunded to me after the closing of the service was complete. I said thanks and I'll see you next year. Fast forward almost a month and all I got was a thank you email and no refund. I went to my account online as it says the account is closed. What a bunch of BS. read more

Done with Cox! Way too expensive and horrible customer service. And now they are liars! Quit cable like ten years ago and never regretted it. Now I have hulu and sling for WAY cheaper and more channels. Just got Verizon 5G home. Very happy with it so far. Getting speeds around 300mbs. Only $35/mo with my Verizon cell service. No limits on data and no outages so far. So I called Cox today to cancel but they told me that they could lower my monthly bill to $33 with the same 250mbps speed. Wellll...checked my email to see the receipt and it said my new bill would be $68!! Of course I called them and was told that the other part of the discount would only apply if I qualified for a "special Covid rate discount". Lol. I told them to CANCEL my service immediately. So now I'm completely done with Cox and will never go back! read more

My 60 year old mother went to this cox location on 09/06/2024. She was informed through an email from Cox Communications that she should return the modem to the nearest store location as per the website states as well. My mother lets Jason know there was some confusion in whether or not she should return the modem or let it stay at her past apartment which she has now moved from. She also exclaimed that there were two cox representatives (Hector and Jared) that had spoke to her on the phone in regard to canceling and returning the modem. Hector told her that she should return it to the nearest store location while Jared told my mother to leave it at the apartment. Jason then tells my mother the same thing that she should leave it at the apartment that she used to live at. My mother then contested with the fact that there is miscommunication and that she believes that Cox together as a whole from their website to their personal employees should be on the same page so that there is no confusion. My mother then tells Jason that she would like a receipt at least to show that she returned it and it's in safe hands. But Jason refuses to give my mother a receipt and tells her that she should take it back to the apartment that she no longer has access to. My mother then tells him that she's at least going to take pictures of the modem being in the store as well as Jason in the picture so that she has proof that she returned it so that she is safe on her end. Jason then tells my mother to go ahead. She in response takes photos as proof of the return and takes a picture of him to show who she gave it to. He then shouts at my mother in front of other employees as well as customers "To get the F*** out of here" not once but twice did he do that. I find it very distasteful that Jason yelled at my mother the way he did and that he failed to recognize that as a physical representative of Cox he could not even think about helping my mother in anyway and just make it harder for her especially after moving. It shows that the customer service is not up to par and that this representative Jason is obscenely rude and inconsiderate and has no care for cox customers past/current/new. read more

I just had the worst experience on the phone. Monica was one of the girls that I spoke to and I'm not sure the gentleman's name that I was on the phone with before her. My husband passed away and they wouldn't do anything to help me credit his account or anything and she was so extremely rude. I just wanted to go and cancel my and go through direct so I suggest don't use Cox I'm going to. And I hope that they are monitoring the phone calls because they will see how extremely rude this Monica is to their customers. Cox is the sleaziest internet service provider/cable company ever. I just rented a house and ordered internet with Cox. When I ordered They say the house is ready for internet just go pick up and self install kit and connect the coax on the wall and it will be fine. I picked up and tried to connect for over 2 hours and nothing worked. Called their tech for two hours and finally they said we need to send out a technician. It was just before July 4th so they had no appointments available and we had to wait. Then the technician came and found a jack next to the fireplace that had signal. So he hooked it up and left. Now I received my 2nd month bill and they charged me for $100 for the technician who came and plugged in something that should've worked to get service started. They claimed that he had to make repairs to get service back up!? Hello? No service yet? It's the first time connecting the cable modem. Anyhow, I'm still trying to get a supervisor to talk to me but they play with words that essential I had to pay for activation installation and it's costing me $100 just to turn on the damn modem. Mind you I used to work for several telecommunications companies and I am a Cisco certified sales expert. At this point anyone who's reading my review should immediately take your business elsewhere without hesitation. This company is out to get you. Their customer service reps are up sales people whose only mission is to get you to upgrade and not to service your issues. They start to bill you the moment you place your order. Not when the service actually turned on. So I was billed for over 4 days before I see a green light on my cable modem. Their business practice is outright illegal and sleazy! I am going to file a complaint with the FCC and state better business bureau. Do not go near Cox! read more

I called Cox Communications back in February 2020 to have internet only installed into my new home in Peoria, AZ on March 3, 2020. They told me no problem. On March 3, the technician came out and could not complete the installation as there was no "hard" drop in my yard for them to connect to. There has been no communication from Cox as to when they will come out to complete the installation. The COVID-19 pandemic hit and that was the excuse given for the delay. Fast forward to November, 2020. I called Cox again to follow up. They sent out a technician on the 10th and he verified that there is still no "hard" drop in my yard. Supposedly he opened another ticket to trigger this drop to occur. The installation was not completed. On the 17th, Cox sent out another technician to complete the installation and the same result, there is no "hard" drop and the installation was not completed. No one in Cox has any clue as to when this "hard" drop will be completed and the installation from March 3 can be completed. Their only answer is that Cox is very SORRY which I am not accepting as a reasonable answer. There only answer is that the ticket is "pending". Not even a supervisor will take the trouble to contact their outside contractor who is supposed to be completing this "hard" drop to get a firm date. I guess from the other reviews I am reading on yelp that I am just one of many dissatisfied Cox customers. Can someone give me any advice as to how long I should wait for Cox to install internet service to my house or should I just give up and contact another internet provider in the Peoria, AZ area? read more

This company is completely aware of its greedy practices and management could care less about you. Be with them for years and have no issues. The moment you try to get out you pay over $500 in "fees" even though you moved three months ago and stopped service. LOL there was another older gentleman getting double charged for October and getting screwed and proved our point. They ALL KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING. Screwing over an old lady over a modem, a father out of $400, and a young couple out of over $500 trying to leave cox. I received an email advising that my decade plus cox modem was outdated and they wanted to send me new equipment. When I received 2 modems they appeared to be used, and one looks nothing like the email pictures. I spent 2 hours trying to activate them, so I called tech support, and they said I was sent 2 devices in error, and I was to send 1 back with my old modem. The 1 I was instructed to return was the panoramic modem. After spending 2 more hours trying to active the new modem with tech support, I was able to connect, but about an hour later, the internet began to fail. For nearly 3 weeks, every day for several hours at a time, the internet would fail, so I tried to reboot the system, and I moved the modem and router around, but nothing helped. On 12-05-24, I took the faulty device to the Cox store. I was told that they would perform a hard reboot, and if that didn't work, I'd have to pay $125 to have someone come out to repair and/or replace what is supposed to be a brand new, updated modem. This sounds like a classic bait and switch tactic: send me faulty equipment then force me to pay to have devices that I don't even own repaired or replaced. Consequently, the hard reboot failed to work, and I only have access to internet services about half of the day. read more

Update: service constantly cuts out. Pretty much anytime I download a file more than a few MB, have to retry 3-5 times. Cox provides 2 networks, 1 is so slow as to be completely pointless (i.e., struggles to even load the Google homepage), the other one craps out and requires me to reboot the modem constantly. Horrible service, I'm not getting what I'm paying for at all. If I ask them to come out, they just tell me they're going to charge me, and I doubt they'll fix the problem. Glad I'm getting out of this burning city soon and won't have to deal with them anymore. read more

I'm a long time Cox Customer for internet and phone service. Currently, Cox is offering a "special" of $49.99 for up to 250mbs internet. I am paying $85. When I inquire about the deal I am told, "Oh that's only for NEW customers it'll cost you $75". Thank the stars for choices, I've been testing T-Moble 5G at my house and am constantly getting 175-220mbs. No issues with work zoom calls, 4K TV, multiple individuals using the internet at the same time. Cox customer service and business practices SUCKS as it has since they arrived in the valley decades ago. They were a monopoly but thier position is being eroded by changes in how content is delivered and advancing technology. I'm happy that my money will no longer support them. read more

I canceled my service because of spotty WiFi and would disconnect several times a day for 5 seconds and then go back on. Every time I called Cox they just suggested to reset the modem. As soon as I would hang up the same issue. The modem I was using was the Panoramic which I made monthly payments on. After the bad service of internet and lack of resolution when calling I decided to switch to Century Link who added fiber optics with a free modem and free installation. I was told when cancelling my service I needed to return the modem to a retail store which is again another inconvenience of me having to go to the store and wait in a long line just for them to scan in the modem. I asked if I could mail it in and they said no I had to return it to the store. I'm know there are great customer service stories and people with no issues but after dealing with this for the past three months, I had to make a change. read more

COX CABLE ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!! My family and I have had Cox for 2 years and we are disappointing in the service. They have now on 3 occasions marked are bill up $90 with no explanation! Our bill is already $150 so another $90 is a crazy amount extra to have to pay for no reason. The first couple times they fix it and took it off the bill because they cant explain it. Today we call customer sevice and they were rude, they cant tell us why again but refuse to fix it. They transferred the call 4 times and on the 4th transfer we were magically disconnected. During the 3 transfers all they kept doing was trying to up-sell us on higher monthly payments and that is very unprofessional if you ask me when we dont know why the bill is higher. I cant believe after 2 years we are seeing issues and a company that wont help there customers find a solution. We are now loyal CenturyLink customers, and they are only charging $45.00 a month!!!!!!!!! If I were you DONT use Cox they are BIG CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I signed up online for internet only at $30 a month, then when I went into the store to pick up my equipment I was talked into cable and internet for $115 plus tax, which I was ok with seeing as I wanted cable just didn't want to pay Xfinity prices... I then called in to add a few sports packages which brought my total to $140, again I'm ok with that... then I get my bill, and it's $230! I call in and the rep in retention places me on hold for 35 minutes while he "looks into it" then disconnects the call when I show him proof of the plan I signed up for! In September 2022 we spoke with Fredrico in the Loyalty Department at Cox. We were told that we would have our rate guaranteed at $193.31 for two years. Recently, our rate went up to $202.66. I called the Loyalty department and Spoke with a rep and then his manager, Joe (ID XRXGOLRA). They both said that what we were promised in September is not guaranteed, since it was a verbal agreement. I have had nothing but HORRIBLE experiences with this company from day one. The only reason WHY I pursued cable was because of the pandemic!! Otherwise I would have never!!!!! I've called, I've texted and I've been hung up on or disregarded...A MILLION TIMES. When ever I need to call in...EVERY SINGLE TIME. On the phone no one knows what they are doing and act like they work in collections. No, they work somewhere that I am paying an amount of a luxury car payment for! I have been on the phone with 2-5 different people, on different calls the past three days all bc I requested to TRANSFER services!!!! Now I have two accounts, charges for a tech install (that I was not disclosed!!!) and WiFi that was once active but was disconnected when the error was discovered. BUT Now I am told I have service BUT it is not active BUT now is BUT doesn't work and...wait for it.......wait... ... ... I need another tech to come out which means another charge AND........AND..... I am getting emails that my payment went up $15......and then another email that is $30 higher than my original payment AND ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TRANSFER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!! read more
