Arrived at 6:10pm on a Wednesday. Explained the purpose of the visit to genius greeter. Port a number from old phone to new phone purchased from the garden state plaza Apple Store that morning. Passed to three different geniuses, with no explanation they said give him to that genius, three times till we landed with genius #4. Then, standing there for 45 minutes, of watching genius #4 chatted up everyone in the store while others who refused on helping us did nothing. Then, finally, genius #4 attempts to port the number. By that time Verizon app on genius phone grayed out, the only solution offered, you can go to the Verizon store. Just an absolute waste of time. Zero geniuses. And zero customer service. Don't buy, don't shop, don't waste your time at this store. read more

Since 2017, Apple Stores worldwide have offered free classes as part of the in-store programming called Today at Apple when one needs a quick tutorial on the latest Apple device or software. As an owner of a recent iPhone 16 Pro Max, I had the opportunity to take a free 30-minute in-store session offered at the Apple Garden State Plaza in Paramus. The reservation was easily made via the Apple Store app to the selected location. Our instructor, Rui, greeted me and one other person on Get Started: Camera Essentials on iPhone. We went over the basic camera app and explained in detail each usage from the flash through the exposure tabs as well as the video, which was very helpful. I would like to take a further workshop: Take Better Photos on the iPhone. This will teach how to set up one's shot, try out new techniques, and explore features as well as editing tools. I can recommend this class to further enhance one's knowledge, and it's free. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS APPLE STORE!!! This place is absolutely terrible. If zero stars were possible, I would give that. This is the first time I've ever felt that even one star is too generous. I visited on Saturday, April 4, 2026, with a 3:30 PM Genius Bar appointment. What I experienced was not just poor service--it was customer neglect, irresponsible management, and behavior that felt discriminatory. I came in because my iPad Pro (less than 3 months old) would not turn on or charge. The first technician, India, did not greet me and showed a dismissive, unprofessional attitude. While I was locating the serial number (1-2 minutes), she suddenly left for her break. Even worse, manager Joe allowed her to walk away mid-service. I was left with no explanation, and my appointment was pushed to 4:40 PM without my consent. I arrived on time, yet I was the one who lost time due to their mismanagement. Then manager Bobby made things worse. Instead of helping, he said things like, "So what do you want?" and "If you want it fixed, you just have to wait." When I asked for someone higher, he sarcastically replied, "I am one of them." His tone was disrespectful and unacceptable. What made it more upsetting was that other customers were continuously helped while I was left waiting. As an Asian customer, this felt discriminatory. I understand Saturdays are busy, but that does not excuse abandoning a customer mid-service, delaying them without consent, and responding with disrespect. After over 1.5 hours, I was told the replacement was out of stock and to "come back in a few days," with no clear resolution. Given the number of other 1-star reviews, this appears to be a serious ongoing issue with this store's management. I expect a clear explanation and a formal apology. Do not come here. I would never go back to this store. I have direct interactions with sales associate Bob, store manger Beatrice and genius associate Ricardo. Ricardo was the only person I had positive experience with. I went their store to purchase a MacBook Air, and their sales associate Bob was friendly and knowledgeable when I asked him about purchasing a new MacBook Air. But as soon as he finished the transaction, he disregarded my need to transfer data, and difficult time waiting for the Genius bar appointment. The Genius Bar associate Ricardo was great. He was very helpful and patient. But the real issue was the staff scheduling my appointment. After I bought the new MacBook Air, the sales associate Bob advised me to make an appointment to transfer data. When I made an appointment with Alex, Alex told me to wait at the Genius bar. I waited for about 50 minutes. And the sales associate Bob and I had eye contact several times during this wait, and he did nothing. I asked another genius staff about the wait time, and he said there is no indication of how long I will be waiting. Finally, I came up to the person who sold me the computer, Bob, and asked him to figure out how much longer I still needed to wait. He referred me to their store manager Beatrice, and she said, Alex should have told me the wait time was about 50 minutes when I made the appointment. But because he is new he did not mention it. I told her that I had been waiting for so long if there was any way to help me faster, and she said no. I asked her what she planned on doing, but she did not give me any answer. Later on, when Richardo helped me. Beatrice told Alex what happened, and Alex wanted to come to me and apologize. And Beatrice literally told him no, and said: no need, just be careful next time. I asked Beatrice her and Alex's names, and she was only willing to give me hers, because she said:" I need to protect my new employee." Absolute TERRIBLE service. Some of the worst customer service ever experienced. I had bought the phone and did my trade un ahead of time and made an appointment to pick it up at the Apple store. The 15 minute visit turned to an hour and 45 minutes. When I first arrived for my appointment, they told me to wait because there's a lot of people regardless of the appointment I made. Sebastian and the female supervisor working at 11am on Thursday were completely disrespectful and rude. Sebastian erased all the data from my original phone and then struggled to get the esim working on the new phone & said there's "nothing they can do" and sent me over to walk to T-mobile to have them "fix the situation". Made me walk 4000 steps from 11:15-1pm because they directed me to the store near amc which was closed. When I came back to the Apple store telling them it was closed, THEY LAUGHED. Both Sebastian and this supervisor (110% should not be in that role) laughed between each other saying how the store has been closed for a while now and repeated that there's nothing they could do to fix the situation and issue. The experience was truly terrible to the point where I felt that both employees should be fired. I kept my calm and tried to hold a normal conversation with them in hopes that their attitudes would improve which it did not. They then made me walk over to a different T-mobile store because they made it official on their end that they weren't going to help with the set up of the phone or get the data back which THEY ERASED. When bringing up that the iPhone 12 has radiation issues (reasoning for the trade it), they consistently said "no" it doesn't and that it's "not true". They also kept trying to make me buy the charger which I told them I didn't need because I already had one and they DID NOT STOP trying to push the purchase onto me while repeatedly telling me that my phone won't work without that charger. I just happened to have had the bad luck of showing up on release day for the 13. Needing a fix for my under performing battery, I signed up and got in line. Only took about an hour and a half to be seen as a walk in, and since I didn't have an appointment, that wasn't awful. I shopped a bit. Then went to the food court and had some fries and people watched while I waited. It's a beautiful mall so no issue there. Time flew! Once I was checked in at Apple, I was so impressed with the customer service. I was told with all honesty that replacing my battery wasn't worth it. That investing that money instead toward a newer version of the iphone would be more beneficial. I wasn't pressured into buying a new phone, only given advice. I came in here for some tech help so my review is basically on my experience with the technician I interacted with. He was down right awesome, and very helpful. He gave me a lot of insight, and some helpful pointers of what to do and not do on my new iPhone. I also had another question, on a MacBook Pro, that he was also extremely helpful about. He must have sat with me for about a good hour. FYI: If you plan on coming here for some sort of tech help I highly recommend you make an appointment or reservation with Apple. Moien was kind, patient and helpful in assisting me to select a new Mac Airbook to replace my very tired 2015 model laptop that was slow and stalling. Ricardo was also kind, cheerful and helpful in doing the data transfer from one laptop to the other. Nick was cheerful, kind and patient. He helped me to add some more customisation to the data transfer and assisted me in selecting a protective cover for my new laptop. He also took my old laptop and chargers as well as my kid's old iPad for recycling. He told us about the HomePod and we promised to come to see him another time in order to buy the HomePod to replace our dying Amazon Alexa. This store is run by fools, I almost got tackled by the security guard because I followed the woman that was answering my question about my phone pick up. Because I didn't get a temper check. Meanwhile I have 2 masks on, no temperature. The disrespect in the way they spoke to me made me decide to cancel my 1200 dollar phone and never buy another Apple Product. The guy with the iPad told me that I had to wait for 20 minutes to get an associate to help me with the transaction. It would be an in and out deal where I knew exactly what I wanted. PROS: This Apple store is bigger than any Apple store I've been to, even counting the NYC one. Most staffed and stocked with inventory. The place is always kept clean and they manage their customer stations very well. During the pandemic they set up booths at the front door that prevents you from walking around, but they are happy to assist. They also have crowd control on the outside CONS: They take forever to help customers which causes a long line and when they did allow you to walk the store it was tough to get someone even with full staff. My wife and I have bought three Mac desktop computers at this particular Apple Store and it is always a pleasure. The store is bright, clean and comfortable, with a friendly and helpful staff. Not only am I huge fan of apple, but during this time of social distancing, their preventative measures was amazing. They have express booths where you can speak with an agent. There is a glass protectant between u and the agent, they are wiping down counters after every customer, and before using the phone they were also wiping the device down. They stated they were limiting times with the agents to about 15 minutes where they have the ability to quickly troubleshoot and/or let you know when you can expect to return to pick up your device. If you're looking to purchase a device, you will still need to make an appointment as they are not seeing anyone or allowing anyone into the store without an appointment. read more

For being arguable the biggest cellphone producer in the world, the efficiency at the Apple Store in the garden state plaza was TERRIBLE at best. 15 minutes to flag someone down to get added on to a queue to make a purchase. And then a 45 minute wait once on the queue. Felt horrible for those on the line that formed while I was waiting. Humorous that a tech company "doesn't have the capability" to add a phone number to your name in the queue to call you. Instead you stand around and watch clusters of employees talk with each other for 20 minutes at a clip, instead of assisting customers. Not to mention when asking an employee how many people are ahead of me. I was hit with the, "I can't check that" as he's visibly looking at his device. I'm quite shocked to see such bad reviews for customer service here. Stopped by yesterday after placing an online order for pick up between 6-6:15pm. I got there right around 6 and there was one regular line for people waiting to get in the store and one line for pick up orders. There was only one other person in front of me though so I was only on line for maybe a minute. After checking in, I was told to wait in the corner inside designated for pick up orders and was out of the store with my purchase within 5 mins. I've come here several times for Genius Bar appointments as well and never had any issues with customer service. read more

I had a terrible experience with the service here. It was worse than bad--it was execrable. When I approached someone in a green shirt, all they did was seat me, completely ignoring my appointed time. The staff was lazy and apathetic, and at the end, they tried to push the work onto me. I do like how they handle things here They are actually very organized ( at least in my experience) with how they run things. It's covid and they have a system of getting customers in and out . I just took one star out due to long wait but nothing can be perfect. For this instance, I needed to replace my phone. There's one team outside the store scheduling appointments and informing ppl it'll take 2-4 hours before I can be seen which I appreciate the transparency. Then when you get your appointment scheduled, they send confirmation texts to your phone to tell you when to show back up to the store. At exactly 2 hours I get the text and wait on line to go to the store. They take temperature before going in and I didn't wait long and it was a quick in and out. No issues. I love apple products, but hate going in the store. The sales people are friendly but a lot of the tech support are rude. I was here to set up a brand new computer. I sat at the table and no one offered to help. As soon as I was brought to the table and introduced to the tech support at that table his response to his coworker, in front of me was, " Sit her here, but I'm going home in five minutes" Then this employee and I guess others that were leaving at the same time talked about what they were doing when they got out. So my experience is based on two parts: creating an appointment/ the wait time (2 stars), and the tech himself (5 stars). TLDR: the techs are great but there are too few of them. The store is disorganized and there are too many reps (regular associates) who can't troubleshoot. The appointment: wow this place is unnecessarily confusing. I knew this place got hectic very fast so I made an appointment. I show up...and they can't find my name. Apparently, if you choose Garden State Plaza (GSP) as your location and they're busy, they'll send you to another location for your appointment but won't tell you! My confirmation email said GSP, but when you click on "get directions" it takes you to another location in Paramus. How would I know to do that? This other location isn't even an apple store, it's some kind of third-party affiliate. If you say the location's one place, don't change it without telling me. The reps at the front of the GSP store then tell me I need to reschedule which is annoying and the wait is an hour. It ended up being more like 1.5 hours. They were nice but the organization of it all was so inefficient. I made an appointment and STILL had to wait. Side note: one of the reps who tried checking me in knew me from yeeeears ago in high school, and kept asking if I thought he was cute. At first, he misheard me calling him cute when in reality I said it was COOL that he worked here. So I get the misunderstanding at first...but not after I corrected him and he kept asking it. It definitely made me uncomfortable. The tech: Alex was amazing! He did an amazing job at explaining everything to me so I knew exactly what was happening and why. The rest of the store techs were not helpful. I walked up to the one who was initially supposed to help me and he literally put his headphones in and walked away....ridiculous. I then had to wait another 20 minutes to be seen by Alex. Alex also apologized for how long I must have been waiting which I appreciated. The number of store reps (the people at the front who don't troubleshoot but just do housekeeping) is too high, and the number of actual techs who can help you is really low. There were two huge tables of about 30+ people who had appointments but were waiting to be seen while these reps just walked around on their phones. I had to send my MacBook out to be repaired, which takes 3-5 business days so that's an inconvenience but they're giving me a 90-day warranty so I don't mind! I checked the order status on UPS and it said it arrived back at GSP 1 days after being sent out but they didn't alert me until 3 days after it arrived there. So, it took about 2 days to fix my laptop and another 3 days for GSP to let me know. Once again showing how their organization is slacking. Pickup was good and not a problem. But they had no idea what the cause of the problem was...they just said "this sometime just happens" which is really unhelpful. It's a 2 year old computer so I would have appreciated understanding what caused the problem so quickly. read more

He took care of all of my issues (I had a laptop and iPad that needed updating) including backing up data that had sentimental value to my family. I've called this store multiple asking about my phone repair, when I had dropped it off in the store they said it would take about 3-5 days to return and ended up being 11 days as off now. I don't like this place. It's cold, crowded, you need to make an appointment and if you are 5 minutes late you loose your turn... while you can be kept waiting for an hour after your appointment time. The place is big, but given the amount of volume that passes there - it's not big enough! After waiting an hour past my appointment (on a Friday night), a technician can to quickly evaluate my phone. He couldn't find anything wrong but gave me some quick tips on what to do with my issue (battery dying quickly) but it was all too fast - someone should have told me to come there with a pen and paper. Unless you have been there and know where you are going - it's all very confusing when you come in. When I entered, I waved the first person at the door that gave me a second look. She confirmed I had an appointment (I was only 4 minutes late - phew) and ushered me to where the headphones were. I sat there, again - hoping someone will notice me. Within a quick moment someone did and I got a new seat. I was ready to wait for a technician. It was a Friday night. I came after work and was hungry and thirsty. I couldn't leave because I would miss my turn so I ended up sitting and waiting for someone to come by. There were people of all ages around. Some parents brought their crying babies. I felt like I was on a plane going nowhere with no way out. Finally the technician came (yay!). I think by then my face was showing signs of an attitude (being hungry and tired didn't help)... I complained about my battery. He did a quick diagnostic and said it was fine. Then he proceeded to look at my history commenting (with what seemed like judgement) on the amount of time I spend on the phone and on Instagram. I had an appointment - was coming from a good distance- and was stuck in terrible traffic, which caused me to get to the store 12 min late. I arrived and was sent to be checked in at the genius bar. Every associate at the genius bar was engaged with a customer - so I was not checked in for an additional 3 min - when I was told that my appointment was canceled because it was now 15 min after my scheduled time. I explained what had happened AND that I was actually there with a few minutes to spare on the 15 min grace period. The "genius" was unsympathetic and unhelpful - telling me I would have to make a new appointment which might be a few hours later. I was so upset that I spoke with a manager who made sure I was helped right away. The 2 stars is because I needed to speak to a manager just to get the reasonable customer service an Apple customer should be given automatically. read more

It's always been an experience I've enjoyed. You're spending a thousand dollars right?, there should be a joyful excitement attached to that. This store experience had me thinking about buying a Samsung. Yes, that bad. I'm a loyal apple customer so I left and will just pick a store that trains their employees better. Went to the Apple store at GSP for my laptop that became unresponsive due to the big sur update and had my laptop held there for over three weeks and received different responses until they ultimately decided the issue was water damage (???) and wanted to make me pay over 1K since I only had limited warranty. I also was hung up on and given attitude by some of the workers when I called for updates on the repair. Note: I have been to this Apple store many times in the past and it seems service just has been getting worse. Went to two different repair stores and was told that there was NO liquid damage at all and that the laptop was just not booting up correctly. The second place I went to is an authorized Apple service provider and was much more helpful! They repaired my laptop within 1 WEEK and it was covered by my limited warranty. read more

I've been there twice this year, and today the guy that "helped" me and my family was super disrespectful, or mean. We were trying talking and trying to find out what the best choice of AirPods were better for my dad, but I guess he was tired of being there, or tired of us. His attitude, and the way he was looking at all of us... I don't even have words, and I'm not trying to be a Karen, but... Well you can see from my check-ins I have been here many times and was satisfied, but, today was not a day to be satisfied so here we go. I arrived on a Friday before the lunch hour crowd around 10:45am. I checked-in with the earliest appointment being 12:50. An hour latter the first Apple person inspected my phone and confirmed the charging connectors on my iPhone 5S and my charger were defective. I purchased my 5S in May 2014 so only 4 months have passed. I had to wait another 2 hours for a technician to confirm same and replace my gold 5S and charger cable with a new products at no cost. This is not a smooth process considering the fact my iphone is still in the process of syncing up. My loyalty to Apple is diminishing considering this long service experience. Considering how much Apple charges for their iPhones and how much profit they make they should have more service support especially considering the quality of their made in China products are deteritorating. As a result I downgraded Apple from 4 stars to only 3 stars. I was not happy today. read more

THANKS SO MUCH, GSP APPLE STORE! Thanks to this store with its terrible customer service and unfriendly personnel, I was able to save a whopping $2,000! I went the store to purchase a MacBook with Apple Care and other accessories but thanks to absolutely nobody helping me, I left! I stood around for a while as absolutely no one was in sight. My friend was with me and managed to stop one employee walking with the full force of a Mack truck. He quickly said, "I can't help you but I'll find someone who will. Did you put your name on the list?" Without waiting for an answer, he barreled down the aisle. List? I have to be on a list to buy things now? What happened to the people who used to scan items with their iTouches or iWhatevers and run my card right there? 30 seconds after the Mack truck walker left, another employee overheard our conversation and said the same thing, "Are you on the list?" I gave my name and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. I guess my time isn't worth sh*t to you, Apple GSP. The mall was closing soon so we just left. No acknowledgements were given as we left. No one gave a poop. I'm never shopping here again. I'm never looking at this store again. I am currently on my fourth iPhone. Aside from my primary education, I am military trained in electrical engineering (avionics), and hold multiple certifications in information technology. I do my absolute best to stay out of this insane, overcrowded, cattle pen, but unfortunately every once in a while a situation arises where it makes sense to pop in here, generally for warranty based repairs. Unfortunately, today was one of those days. My iPhone had developed a hardware issue (the sleep/wake button ceased to function). I have disassembled and repaired several iPhones and iPads for myself and friends over the years but this is a known hardware defect (verifiable by the phone's serial number) and is covered and repaired by Apple free of charge; how nice of them to correct their own manufacturing defect. For this repair they generally give you a loaner phone while they send out your defective phone for repair. Typically I would repair this myself, however believe it or not, the power button repair for my model of iPhone requires a complete tear down and is one of the most difficult repairs. I figured, why not save myself an hour of labor and let Apple do the work this time to fix their known hardware issue... Let the adventure begin! As I mentioned previously I do my best to stay out of Apple stores as I find them to be full of half-ass techie fansters, however I must admit years ago they were once emphatic to user problems with their hardware and they were willing to work with you to come to a mutually fair solution. Those times have changed. Welcome to the new generation Apple, where no customer approach from 'nice guy' to ' maniac' will get you anything but robotic, pre-programmed answers from the Apple androids employed at an apple store. I spoke with three different employees ( including the store manager) to try and get my power button fixed under the Apple replacement program that 100% covers this defect in my phone. They came up with every irrelevant excuse you can possibly imagine to not cover the power button repair. The rigid posturing by the employees at this location makes me sick. The bottom line is: The power button is defective. Apple corporate approved this repair for every device with the issue. Nothing else is wrong with the phone mechanically. Apple should fix the power button per the recall! Combined with a lack of standout features In recent Apple devices, along with a slowly dying jailbreak (unlock) scene I am being being pushed closer and closer to the edge of switching to the competition.
