Don't go to P C Richards Paramus to purchase anything. The sales staff and managers are incredibly rude and they lie about hidden charges. I purchased an overhead lid/fan for $159 to go with the stove they sold me. It took over four hours on the phone including time on hold, disconnects, and hang ups. I had to deal with eight different salesmen and a manager called Tom, none of whom mentioned to me there would be an additional installation charge of wait for it... $189! Guess when I found out about this charge? When the delivery men were at my house. I called the store back while the delivery men were in my home. I was put on hold and disconnected another three times. Finally another manager named Saab (?) confirmed the installation charge was an additional $189 and told me if I didn't want to pay it I could cancel the whole order. I was disgusted. This way of doing business is unprofessional and unethical. Do yourself a favor and go to a different store. I filed a complaint with NJ Consumer Affairs (https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/ocp) and with P C Richards national headquarters (150 Price Parkway, Farmingdale, NY 11735). Sales Experience (October) My wife and I initially visited the Paramus store and worked with two different sales associates who provided inaccurate information and offered no real expertise. We were told every appliance on the floor was the "best option," with no meaningful guidance. Frustrated, we left and visited the West New York location instead. Shortly after, the Paramus appliance manager called us, apologized, and personally asked us to return--assuring us he would take care of everything. Based on that assurance, we returned and purchased four appliances (three GE Café and one Whirlpool refrigerator), totaling nearly $9,000. Paid Pre-Installation Check -- $50 Wasted We paid $50 for a pre-installation check to ensure everything was ready. This service provided incorrect information and failed to identify installation issues that later caused real problems. The fee was never reimbursed. We were told "not to worry" because a $250 gift card would offset the inconvenience. First Delivery & Installation Issues I took a full day off work for the first delivery window (12-4 PM). The crew didn't arrive until 6:15 PM and didn't leave until 9:15 PM. Problems during this delivery: I was charged to modify an emergency shutoff valve behind the dishwasher--without being told it was installed incorrectly The GE Café range was defective (error codes, constant beeping, would not heat) The GE Café dishwasher arrived with a broken component, which we only discovered after the installers left due to the late hour Follow-Up & Replacement To their credit, the appliance manager agreed to replace both appliances instead of sending a technician--mainly because GE service was significantly delayed. We were fortunate we delayed installation until after Thanksgiving; hosting a holiday with a broken oven would have been unacceptable. Second Delivery & Additional Costs A second delivery required me to take another full day off work. This installer confirmed the emergency shutoff valve should never have been placed behind the dishwasher. As a result: $120 paid to the first installer $250 paid to relocate the shutoff valve correctly $50 paid for the failed pre-installation check Total out-of-pocket cost due to their errors: $420 While I received a $250 gift card and a $250 credit, only $130 actually offset my costs, meaning I still absorbed most of the expense--despite spending nearly $9,000. Overall Impact Two days taken off work Incorrect pre-installation inspection Defective brand-new appliances Improper installation requiring paid correction Significant time spent coordinating fixes What was most frustrating was being told by the general manager that this was "the best that could be done," while continuing to reference the original gift card--despite the fact that it was issued for early failures that were not my fault. Bottom Line This experience permanently damaged my trust in the Paramus location. For a purchase of this size, the service failures, misinformation, and lack of accountability are unacceptable. Run don't walk away from this company. Ordered a dishwasher, installer came in saying it would be "easier" for him to CUT the dishwasher out of my cabinet. This dishwasher was barely in the counter since hubby disconnected it. Then the salesmen calls me to tell me that I need a different dishwasher and I have to pay an additional 200? Excuse me? You don't get to choose which dishwasher goes in my home. I had to say on 3 different occasions "cancel the order" before the salesmen actually did it. Very unprofessional. Never again will I ever walk into this store. I'll wash dishes by hand before they ever come back in my home. Be prepared to threaten to call your cc company to start a fraud investigation. I came in here looking to buy a new TV. I met up with Jack and Brian who were on the floor. They helped me out with figuring out what to get and what I needed. They also told me about the offers and promotions they had. They made me feel comfortable and that I can earn their trust. No sales pitch just up front scenarios of what to do. At the end I made the decision, and I was happy with it. Even though I took pictures of a "Samsung 65in 8K QLED" tv, I ended up getting an "LG C1 4K OLED". This is a very new model, so new it was not on the showroom just yet. It is a great TV, but you will need to do your research and homework. Jack and Brian, went above and beyond to help me understand all the features of these TV's (Sony, LG and Samsung) which made me feel super excited in buying the LG C1. FYI: They also sell mattresses and they give better discounts if you purchase a mattress and other appliances or TV's. I was tempted to buy a new mattress just to get the bigger discount, but I had a fairly new mattress. NOTE: They always have sales here, so ask. Beware! I've always known to look to PC Richards for customer service, that's what they've always been known for, and they're leaving a lot to be desired. I had PC Richards install a Bosch dishwasher a month ago, it's already dead, there was a factory defect, not PC Richards fault -- wouldn't blame them for that. What does suck is that I called them to schedule a repair. There's a list of 15 repair companies they (and Bosch) contract with that service my area for repairs. They booked me for 2 weeks out -- 2 weeks without a dishwasher. So I called one of the other 15 companies, and the guy told me he could be there THE NEXT DAY. So why didn't PC Richards reach out to any of the other options? Repair guy came yesterday, and pointed out that the machine is a lemon and I need a replacement, he told me he'd have the report sent to PC Richards and Bosch first thing this AM (which he did... at 7 AM EST) and he told me to call and try to get the ball rolling on getting a new unit. I called yesterday, and was told they couldn't do anything without that report (not even put a hold on my credit card for the price of a new dishwasher). I called this morning after they got the report, and was told it takes them 24 hours to get the report through the system, and they can't do anything for me to get a dishwasher to me with any urgency. So no, please don't use PC Richards if you're looking for customer service, cause they just don't care... They won't lift an additional finger to make anything happen a little faster read more

Bad enough they're so woefully understaffed that when we went on Friday to choose our new fridge we couldn't get someone to fill the order. Saturday morning bright and early and they entered our order and set delivery for 12-3 today. Well first 12-3. Then 2-5. Then 5-8. This is unacceptable. You've now not only wasted my entire day waiting for you, now you're gonna cut into my family dinner time? You'd think with the amount of other options people have for making substantial appliance purchases, you might actually try not sucking this badly. I have a few more big purchases to make, they won't be seeing any of that business thanks to this fiasco. EDIT: P.C. Richard upon reading the review has refunded our delivery fee, which is really the bare minimum that they should have done. P.C. Richard & Son - Compressor replacement - Electronics Near Me - Paramus, New Jersey

Be aware of P.C. Richard & Sons when purchasing appliances. I purchased several appliances from them back on July 5th, 2022. They sent installers to my home, representing P.C. Richards, however, when they do damages to the home, P.C. Richards will refer you to a complaint department and tell you that they are not responsible for damages. Actually, I was told that the damages are not visible and therefore, not responsible for what they did. When the installers came to my home to install my microwave on 9/3/2022, they were not in my eyes, professionals installers. They literally ripped the old microwave from the wall, causing the tiles on the backsplash to come off and break. When they installed the new one, instead of putting the screws from the top, they said that the holed didn't match anymore, so instead of making new holes from the top, they decided to put holes on the inside of my kitchen cabinets and into the microwave. They also ripped the finish on my top cabinet and left without installing the vent. And the microwave was not leveled in any way. This will all show in the pictures that I will upload. P.C. Richards told me to contact the complaint department, and I was first told to get an estimate for the damages. The damages came to $710.90. When I submitted it, I was told that and inspector would come and look at the damages. When he showed up he said that the microwave needed to be replaced and the work was done all wrong. As if that wasn't enough, they sent a second inspector and was told the same thing. I received the second microwave on 10/11/2022, and the person that installed it, when asked about the damages, I was told again that the damages are not visible, and they even told me that the inside of your cabinets, have other holes (the holes to adjust the shelves that are suppose to be there), and therefore washed their hands of everything. I also had problems with my dishwasher, after I paid for full installation, the installers wanted another $50 telling us that the hose wasn't long enough, and left the connector loose to indicate that there would be a leak. My husband asked to look at the connector, and tightened it in front of them. Please be careful who they are sending into your homes, the installation is not cheap and keep an eye on what they are doing. The General Manager from P.C. Richards was supposed to follow up, we spoke last Monday, and I told him to make sure he follows up or I would post this on Yelp today, and have not heard back from him. I went to PC Richards back February 2021 and ordered a 48" Kitchenaid refrigerator that cost nearly $10,000.00 . I was told by the salesmen that it would take 6 weeks to arrive. With the state of everything this year 6 weeks was not that bad. In the end of March 2021, I get a notice from their bank that they wanted payment for the refrigerator, I told them that I would gladly pay when the refrigerator is delivered to my house. What about if it never gets delivered and i am out all of that money. I have been eating over 12 weeks and no refrigerator, today I get a letter from them canceling my order a but I have to pay $400.00 for a crappy free gift they gave me and interstate's from Feb. What an experience. Lots of sales people milling around the entrance which can be annoying but we were approached by Richard. (Easy to remember given our location!) So these guys don't know why you are there which honestly makes the experience even better. They are trained for whatever you are looking for!! Amazing. Richard was extremely knowledgeable and helped us with our tv needs. You need to be on the up and up with this technology as it changes so frequently. Richard wasn't pushy at all. Listened to our needs and then got us laser focused on a few models. It was great because walking into that tv area can be overwhelming. Richard didn't stop there...he ensured our delivery needs would be met and even reached out to the warehouse for us because dummy...(me) left the tv mount in the store!!! Ugh! Have no fear, Richard called the warehouse and had the delivery truck bring the shelf with them. What service. I was blown away from my PCR experience from start to finish. From the second we walked in our experience was a good one! we were greeted right away, In a very friendly and courteous manner by the salesman Dave. He has been there for 25 years since the store opened and he couldn't have been more helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. The store manager Craig was also very helpful! He came over to give us some tips that we otherwise would have overlooked. I cannot rave enough about the overall experience! Terrible!! Had purchased a washer and dryer 3 years ago bought warranty. Something happened to the washer where it probably wasn't draining with some loads. Technician comes "fixes" the issues and I question him about fixing it. He says that's the problem, the drain pump. Runs a 3 minute cycle says it's fixed. He leaves I decide to run a load and my basement floods!!! I immediately call the service dept and it's closed (New Years eve it's 3pm) call the regular number to complain that my basement has flooded after the technician has left my house! They have left for the holidays and was instructed to call the following day. Call the next day will not be open until the following day. Call and instruct them not to send the same technician since he made me feel uncomfortable. Representative says he will not send the same guy and technician knows what the problem is with the washer and will need to order parts! Wtf! Okay couple days later the same guy shows up! I do not open the door and I ask him to leave. I call them immediately and request to speak to a manager for the 4th time. I'm told their in a meeting. Call back again and say that they will need to put in a request to speak to a manager. The run around. I took a personal day to deal with these damn shenanigans. NOT my fault that this was overlooked (not to send the same person) and now it's a Friday and being told they will come out some other day which is Wednesday. Don't buy the warranty! We bought a 75" Sony tv, 50" Samsung, Bose soundbar, two tv mounts and you would think it would be a fast service oriented process. It has been the longest, worst, most agonizing experience. Almost 4 months into this ordeal my refridgerator issues are still not resolved. My Samsung fridge that i paid over $2,000 for 5 years ago is still broken. My ice maker, and my ice maker motor has been replaced once already. The compressor motor has been replaced. Lost all my food, because they couldnt come out when the parts came in. I had to wait 2 weeks. The noise started again. I called to make an appt had to wait over 1 week to get service. They came and my thermostat is bad, and the control panel was bad. The temp in my fridge is 50°. AGAIN i lost all my food! What is PC Richard & Son going to do about this? NOTHING! Don't buy from them, go somewhere else. Whats up with this place these days? It seems certain salesmen received their training from Used Lemon Car University - School of High Pressure Sales. A few months ago I visited the Paramus, NJ store to purchase a washing machine. The salesman recommended a decent enough model, but then he wouldn't let up about about my need to buy some crappy oxygen attachment. He B.S'd me left and right with his schtick. I declined. While writing up the order he tried to mesmerize me with some lame Speaker system and a dopey uncomfortable gaming chair. Ha ha! Is this guy for real? Later I noticed he didn't give me the best price on the washer. I had to go back to the store and and had to hear him further B.S me that he "forgot" to give me the advertised sale price. Having grown up in the North East, I've always been a PC Richard guy, as opposed to hitting the big box electronic stores where you are just another body walking in the door. I feel like you generally get better service and more knowledgeable sales reps at PCR. All that said, I recently had an over the top customer service experience at the Paramus location and I have to give a few shout outs. Here's the back story.... Wife and I are moving to the burbs (shoot me) and we're building a kitchen from scratch. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. So many options and decisions when undertaking such a project and appliances are a big part of that. White or Stainless steel, oven vs range, 4 burner vs 6 burner, counter depth or regular fridge, ugh!! So we walk into PCR Paramus saying to ourselves this is an exploratory mission. If something really blows us away, perhaps we'll pull the trigger, but lets feel it all out and learn. Low and behold, Davis and the store manager Craig held our hand throughout the entire process, educated us on a ton of items, and really put us at ease. I don't know crap about half these items and Craig was able to dumb it down for me. He also laid out all my options from high end to low end without being pushy or too sales-y. He seemed like he was genuinely there to help. Think the opposite of a used car salesman.... Well after a few hours we not only rewarded Craig's location with our kitchen business (WOLF range, fridge, dishwasher, micro, hood, etc) that we even purchased the washer and dryer we needed for our new home. No bs, this store has my appliance business so long as I live in NJ and I have a pulse. Prices are just as low as anywhere else but the sales guys know thier stuff. Even when it came to scheduling the delivery, the online portal is quite intuitive and I appreciate that as a techy. If you're even contemplating purchasing some electronics or appliances, stop in and see Davis on the sales floor or Craig managing the showroom for at least a conversation.
