There wasn't even an apology from corporate. Instead, I was met with dismissive comments and implied blame. The store manager, district manager, and corporate leadership failed to take this situation seriously. Endless emails, deflection, and silence made it clear that customer safety and ethics are not a priority here. When I returned the mattress due to how poorly this was handled, I was blindsided again: the adjustable base was suddenly labeled "non-refundable" (never clearly disclosed), and I was charged for "free gift" items at inflated, above-market prices. Sales Experience (October) My wife and I initially visited the Paramus store and worked with two different sales associates who provided inaccurate information and offered no real expertise. We were told every appliance on the floor was the "best option," with no meaningful guidance. Frustrated, we left and visited the West New York location instead. Shortly after, the Paramus appliance manager called us, apologized, and personally asked us to return--assuring us he would take care of everything. Based on that assurance, we returned and purchased four appliances (three GE Café and one Whirlpool refrigerator), totaling nearly $9,000. Paid Pre-Installation Check -- $50 Wasted We paid $50 for a pre-installation check to ensure everything was ready. This service provided incorrect information and failed to identify installation issues that later caused real problems. The fee was never reimbursed. We were told "not to worry" because a $250 gift card would offset the inconvenience. First Delivery & Installation Issues I took a full day off work for the first delivery window (12-4 PM). The crew didn't arrive until 6:15 PM and didn't leave until 9:15 PM. Problems during this delivery: I was charged to modify an emergency shutoff valve behind the dishwasher--without being told it was installed incorrectly The GE Café range was defective (error codes, constant beeping, would not heat) The GE Café dishwasher arrived with a broken component, which we only discovered after the installers left due to the late hour Follow-Up & Replacement To their credit, the appliance manager agreed to replace both appliances instead of sending a technician--mainly because GE service was significantly delayed. We were fortunate we delayed installation until after Thanksgiving; hosting a holiday with a broken oven would have been unacceptable. Second Delivery & Additional Costs A second delivery required me to take another full day off work. This installer confirmed the emergency shutoff valve should never have been placed behind the dishwasher. As a result: $120 paid to the first installer $250 paid to relocate the shutoff valve correctly $50 paid for the failed pre-installation check Total out-of-pocket cost due to their errors: $420 While I received a $250 gift card and a $250 credit, only $130 actually offset my costs, meaning I still absorbed most of the expense--despite spending nearly $9,000. Overall Impact Two days taken off work Incorrect pre-installation inspection Defective brand-new appliances Improper installation requiring paid correction Significant time spent coordinating fixes What was most frustrating was being told by the general manager that this was "the best that could be done," while continuing to reference the original gift card--despite the fact that it was issued for early failures that were not my fault. Bottom Line This experience permanently damaged my trust in the Paramus location. For a purchase of this size, the service failures, misinformation, and lack of accountability are unacceptable. Unfortunately, less than a year later, all pieces were already pilling and fraying, which is unacceptable for furniture at this price point. The furniture looks like it's a decade old. One recliner's motor stopped working. In July 2025, a technician came out to inspect the chair and said a replacement motor needed to be ordered. When he returned in August, he arrived with the wrong motor and, rather than ordering the correct part, told us he would "make it fit" and forced it into the recliner. That repair failed. My mother reached out again in November, and another service appointment was scheduled, but the technician did not come out until over a month later, in December. At that visit, the technician explained that forcing the incorrect motor had stretched the wiring and caused the wires to pull out. He took photos and advised that if the recliner had not been unplugged, it could have caused a fire. He himself was shocked that another tech would have done this, knowing the risk it posed. On January 8th, my mom received an email stating that the correct motor part was still unavailable. As a result, this recliner has now been broken for months, despite being fully paid for and covered under warranty. We've submitted multiple service requests and emails documenting these issues, and nothing has actually been addressed yet. There were times we had to put in 3 or more requests before even getting a reply at all. For comparison, we own a chair from Bob's that is 10 years old and remains in far better condition than this set. I am extremely disappointed in both the quality of the furniture and the lack of follow-through on warranty service. Given the repeated delays, failed repairs, and documented safety concerns, I am hoping someone from Raymour & Flanigan customer care or management will reach out to review my mom's case and provide a prompt resolution.

Within approximately two years of normal use, the bed began to show significant structural failure. In their response, they acknowledged that structural failure under normal use is not expected. However, they refused to offer any type of solution--no repair, replacement, or store credit--solely because the item was outside of their warranty period and has been discontinued. So essentially, a $2,000+ bed failed prematurely, and their position is that the customer is fully responsible and with no recourse. No offer of store credit, repair, partial refund nothing. This was especially disappointing as I am a repeat customer and have purchased multiple items from them. I expected a company that positions itself as high-quality to stand behind its products. Buyers should be aware that once you are outside their warranty window, you may be left with no support--even in cases of clear structural failure.
