I purchased a light-colored sectional and matching console from Modani in Paramus. Upon delivery and unboxing, almost every piece had visible stains and damage. Following the sales representative's instructions, I contacted customer service and submitted photos and videos documenting the issues. They arranged for a third-party cleaning service, which initially seemed like a reasonable solution. However, the experience quickly declined. The cleaner arrived dragging a steamer across a sidewalk covered in melting snow and salt, then entered my home wearing only flimsy shoe covers, leaving wet, dirty marks all over my hardwood floors. The equipment itself also left marks. While he addressed some of the stains on the sectional, he completely ignored the console, which had clear discoloration on the corners--similar to wear caused by repeated handling in the same area. He took photos and said he would report back to customer service. After that, I received no follow-up. When I reached out, I was told that my claim was no longer valid because it fell outside the 30-day reporting window--even though they were supposed to follow up with a resolution regarding the console and failed to respond. I was also told that the discoloration on the console was merely "the customer's perception," based on the cleaner's feedback. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. While the products may look appealing, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and dismissive customer service make it difficult to recommend this company. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared. I purchased a bed frame from Modani (William King Bed, Gray) for over $2,000, expecting quality and durability i was used to from their products. Within approximately two years of normal use, the bed began to show significant structural failure. Multiple metal support legs bending and buckling at the connection points, and the platform boards warping, making the bed unstable and unusable. I contacted Modani and provided photos. In their response, they acknowledged that structural failure under normal use is not expected. However, they refused to offer any type of solution--no repair, replacement, or store credit--solely because the item was outside of their warranty period and has been discontinued. So essentially, a $2,000+ bed failed prematurely, and their position is that the customer is fully responsible and with no recourse. No offer of store credit, repair, partial refund nothing. This was especially disappointing as I am a repeat customer and have purchased multiple items from them. I expected a company that positions itself as high-quality to stand behind its products. Buyers should be aware that once you are outside their warranty window, you may be left with no support--even in cases of clear structural failure. read more

Terrible is an understatement. The quality is poor, you'll see the couches fall apart within days. We paid for the extra warranty and they wouldn't cover it, even though it was a manufacture defect well within the warranty period. Don't pay for the warranty and shop elsewhere. You'll thank me I'm only writing this review because I want to help anybody who is doing their research to never shop at this store. From the Manager to the sales people, they're just basically useless. I'm sure the team has turned three times by now, so it doesn't even matter, but I would really stay away from here. The absolute worst. The bedroom set I purchased from them is stripping all around. It's black pleather and for a while I couldn't figure out where these black particles were coming from in my daughters hair. It turns out, it was from the bed. I purchased the warranty, which was pointless and worthless because they couldn't fix or replace it because it was considered "wear and tear". There are parts of the bed that's stripping that isn't even used. It's just a bad product. I would never recommend or buy anything from Modani Furniture again. read more

Unfortunately, our experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Within just eight months of use, the sofa's stitching has started to come apart. Upon contacting Modani's customer service for assistance, we were advised to reach out to the insurance provider. However, the insurance company directed us back to Modani. This back-and-forth between Modani and the insurance provider continued, with no resolution in sight. I strongly advise others to avoid Modani Furniture. When looking to furnish my new home I stumbled into Modani in Paramus quite accidently and walked out just a bit poorer. I've been buying things for the better part of my life. I'm a true consumer in that respect and have done business in more places than I can remember. What I can't remember was getting better service than provided by Richard at Modani in Paramus. From arranging delivery to answering my design questions promptly, Richard is a true gem. STOP! DO NOT BUY HERE!! You have been warned. I'd give this dump a ZERO star if possible! Summary? Sure! We furnished most of our brand new home with Modani, received it a month ago. All of it is crap. Master King Bed is falling apart while we also wait for a replacement of a broken nightstand. Sales also has a penchant for lying. We had to decline a massive sectional couch after waiting 4 months, because they though we wouldn't notice they completely switched materials to a cheaper leather. It looked nothing like what we bought, but they claimed it has to be factory mistake! Ha! I don't think Chinese furniture which takes 5 months to ship would be shipped without being checked beforehand. And the kicker this happened because the salesman told us they didn't have another similar couch in stock anymore, and that was a lie. They could have replaced this with the stock black bergamo but nope, ultimately they're stuck on stupid! Go to Natuzzi next door or Lazzoni for a better experience. Heck even go to Bobs you're still doing better than this fake Italian garbage dump! Update!! - Notice their response? It's all about passing the buck, and taking zero ownership for their faults. When I asked for an exchange, they said it was discounted so we don't do any return or exchanged. It was discounted because I bought many things. I placed my order a week ago, made the payment and since thnever receive any kind of communication. I tried many time to call them to get an ETA of delivery. Nobody ever answer calls. It feels like I threw thousands of dollars into the sea. Be aware of this store! Now it looks like I will have to dispute the charge... Update: I finally got a call from the store to schedule delivery after 12 days from my order date. My deliver date was scheduled 5 days after and they said I will got a call one day in advance to tell me the delivery time window. Guess what, nothing happened! No calls, no emails, no delivery! I was taking a day off to wait for that delivery! Horrible experience. Major damage done was to the walls of my building which someone claiming to be the owner rudely argued with me that existed before they got there. I live at the end of the hallway and look at these walls every day, especially this morning prior to delivery. Even the neighbor came out and said that the damage wasn't there this morning. And then 1 of the pieces they delivered was damaged and another one was missing parts. read more

I was shopping for a bench seat for my dining table. I stopped by in various places along rt 4 and rt 17. Either they didn't have what I was looking for, or they didn't have what I was looking for to see in the showroom. I made my last stop at the design center in paramus. I randomly walked into this store, without any expectations...as this was my 4th store I was checking out. I walked in and immediately saw what I was looking for on the showroom floor. I flagged down a gentleman named Richard, and he also happened to be the store manager. He took care of me, and was extremely accomodating. I received the bench, but it had a few light scratches on it. It was still in great condition. I decided to give Richard a call to explain the situation. To my surprise, he went above and beyond to rectify the situation by giving me a partial cash credit back to my credit card. I am very satisfied with not only the product, but the professionalism that Richard brought to the table. The furniture itself is good. But...DO NOT buy a mattress from them. Literally double the price I saw on Amazon and when it got delivered, I think sleeping on tile floor is more comfortable. I reached out within 24 hours to find out about the return policy and was told if there is no provable defect (like with a picture), then it's a 35% restocking fee to return it. What a crock of s***! I was originally considering a couch 3 times the cost but was really impressed with Modani through a referral. The only suggestions for improvement are fabric swatches to take home and color options. We had such a fantastic first-time experience at Modani. When my husband and I walked in (after driving an hour in a blizzard to get there) we were greeted by a friendly staff eager to help us find what we were looking for. We were searching for several specific pieces for our new home, and after viewing them online, we wanted to see them in person. We were helped by Ricardo, who was incredibly helpful in showing us the pieces, helping us measure them, and offering design advice. He spent over two hours with us and was able to coordinate a very complicated delivery schedule for several large items that were going to two different houses- one of which is in Florida. From beginning to end, it was a professional and successful experience. When the furniture arrived it was absolutely perfect! Avoid at all costs. I'm in disbelief at the customer treatment I just experienced. In short, a piece of hydraulic furniture I purchased from Modani malfunctioned today, leaving my husband trapped and in danger. Upon calling customer service, I was routed to this Paramus store, where a rude woman refused to help us. She insisted we hang up and call back and select the customer service option. We told her 3 times we had already done that, and it just reroutes us to the same line. She only repeated herself, trying to get us off the phone. She finally said, "Well, they're closed today", thereby admitting she had no intention of helping us. I said, "So you're trying to get us off the phone by directing us to a number that you KNOW cannot help us today?" She replied by saying she didn't have time for us, she's dealing with three other customers-once again making it clear she had no desire to help us. It's bad enough that our furniture malfunctioned after less than 2 years, but the treatment from this woman was beyond rude. This woman shouldn't be permitted to interact with customers. I would appreciate a call from this store manager-if they actually care about their customers' safety-to help rectify this situation. Update: Twice now I've called another customer service number, been connected to a person, and twice the call has disconnected. Despite both agents confirming my name and phone number, neither one of them ever called me back. Modani, this is a serious safety issue with our furniture, and nobody is willing to help a customer who paid thousands of dollars. read more
