I'll stop into this Homesense store after I've shopped at the Trader Joe's next door. (If you're going to brave the parking lot in this shopping plaza, you may as well hit up both stores). I found some cute home decor and seasonal items for the winter holidays and lunar new year. I also like the furniture pieces and lighting that are featured towards the front of the store. We've been browsing around to see what would look like a good purchase for our place. Homesense had nice pieces that you can touch/sit on. So even if we do not end up not buying from there, what they have on the floor was/is a good source of design inspiration. read more

Not quite nonsense -- and not exactly couture. Somewhere in between for me. Homesense is a riff on its "off price" cousins TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. The emphasis here is on made in India and China furniture and furnishings -- with a decent selection of kitchenware and gadgets. No clothes, jewelry, shoes or fancy foodstuffs in this iteration of the ever evolving chain of stores owned by TJX. Homesense improves on the chaotic and frenetic merchandising practices of its relatives. In other words -- you will find the aisles logically organized with more limited and better curated selections. If you are looking for that odd off price piece -- like a sofa, chair, table, love seat, carpet or new china, this place is worth a look. As with all the other TJX retail stores, you are buying "off the floor" which means that the stuff has been sat in, handled, returned, jostled about, dinged, etc. -- so inspect carefully before buying -- especially with the higher priced furniture and carpets. Top Tip: Shares a parking lot with Trader Joe's -- which means PACKED on Saturdays. Best shopping experience is early or late -- midweek. read more

I usually love visiting this store when we travel into town. We were so disappointed this time! The store was beyond over cluttered and chaotic; the staff members (including the on duty manage) lacked appropriate customer service skills; and it was flat out dirty/littered with trash. When one person in our group went to check out, the cashier attempted to give her over $11 back in all quarters. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

My friend took me here for the first time about 2 months ago and I'm just getting a chance to write my review! I am completely obsessed with this store!! I didn't even know this place existed until she told me about it! It is furniture heaven!! They have a ginormous selection to choose from and pretty good prices to say the least! If you are moving into an apartment or your first house and are looking for furniture or decorations Homesense is the place to go! They have such cool, unique items! Things you won't find in other stores and some high end brands that have budget friendly prices! I can spend all day here! I also like how they keep it organized and things displayed. This is a store like home goods, plenty of daily deliveries of furniture finds that are unique, fancy salt and pepper shakers, wall decor, rugs (7x10 for $300), shower curtains, water bottles, storage ottomans, coffee tables, fake flowers, Halloween decor, Christmas decor and lamps... I love this store, however, I have trouble with liking a piece of furniture and finding a small chip or even a very obvious chip or break on it. I would love to see these things in the back. It's unfortunate to fall in love with something and wish it was perfect. No, I'm not looking to take it home for a discount. I just wish they put them in the back clearance. That's all. HomeSense is basically a slightly more upscale version of HomeGoods. There are some things that you can only get here, although, the majority of the things here can also be found at HomeGoods, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx. Here's the thing. They picked the absolute worst location for this. This store shares a parking lot with Trader Joe's. Anyone who knows Trader Joe's knows that it can get crazy there. For over a year, Trader Joe's had this parking lot to itself and even then, there were times you could not park, especially on weekends. Like, literally no spots. Needless to say, things are now even worse. Ugh. read more

Beautiful store full of things to buy. I am a die hard tj maxx homegoods marshall's fan so to say I was excited about this store would be an understatement. It definitely has a bit of a "warehouse" vibe I would almost say. Things are organized very well by function or product type. There are also sets out together (such as living room or dining). Great selection of lighting and rugs especially. Price is on the upper end for things- I am sure these are higher quality brands because the deals were definitely nothing insane like you find at homegoods/marshall's. However, definitely wanted to buy a good half of it during my stroll through! read more

I usually bounce between here and Homegoods for decor. Pricing is reasonable. I like the layout of the store w/ exception to the aisles--they're too close together. For people that don't have cart etiquette, you're either stuck in an aisle behind them or being slammed into. Staff may have to be more mindful of keeping the place tidy, the pillow aisle was a disaster area--I'm sure it was either kids or rude customers, but a mess does not make shopping very appealing! read more

An affiliate of TJX Companies, this store is similar but smaller than HomeGoods, but still mighty. They have a little bit of everything: big to small, useful to fun. Furniture, home decor, kitchen items, holiday decor... all things home. Because of their affiliation, you can use your TJX credit card here, and any rewards you may have. The check-out line is similar to it's affiliate stores, littered with small items to gander upon and add to your pile before you purchase. They share a building and parking lot with with Trader Joe's, with an entrance off of RT 17N or the back road off of Midland Ave. Great location for one-stop-shopping! read more

I was just in Homesense today Sept 17, 2020 at 12 PM purchasing a couch, chair and rug. Two women ahead of me at a cashier were not wearing their masks properly, the masks were on their chin not covering their mouth or nose. When it was my turn at the register it happened to be the same cashier. I said to the cashier that they were not wearing their masks properly .... her response floored me. Natalia ( her name) told me " masks don't work anyway and that that was fake information " I reported this to the manager. How are we going to get out of this pandemic, how are customers to feel safe going out shopping if employees are not endorsing safety protocol. It seems employees need to be rigorously trained to keep personal opinions to themselves when dealing with customers and companies need to be vigilant regarding employee training. We will never get out of this pandemic and business will continue to be in jeopardy if we don't all follow safety protocols . This is sad. read more

Understaffed. 1 register open, over 10 customers on line. During a weekday on lunch break. I spent 80% of my 15 min in this store just trying to check out. Just go to HomeGoods, same family of stores, up the street. The lines, if long, at least keep moving. read more

Most terrible experience. Every time. My fault for giving them other chances. Just called to pay for an item over the phone- and put on hold for 20 minutes. 20 minutes!! Mark gets back on phone "oh, no one picked up... please hold!..." "No! Mark, I'll just put it on hold..." He was gone. For another 12 minutes!!! You would think after putting the customer thru the first 20, he would simply grab a post it and take the 40 seconds to do it himself. Nope! I ask for manager when Mark picks up again. Now over 30 mins... Cathy , manager, gets on. Asks what the problem is. Doesn't say a word while I go over how I've lost 35 minutes of my day to put a piece of furniture on hold... or PAY for, God forbid. She's silent. I explain this is the same lackluster (to put it gently) experience I've had. Every. Single. Time. It's a shitshow, frankly. Put something else on hold actually in the store, while I went home to see if I could arrange movers. I went back and it was gone. And same play-dumb routine. No patience for it anymore. I finish with "I must say since you are the manager, & this has happened so many times, it's a poorly run ship, to say the least!" Well, now she speaks- "so you waited 35 minutes to tell me I run a poor show..." Done. Home sense: Had potential...But u will lose a day bc they have all lost their mind. I have gone to Homesense in Paramus on a number of occasions and they just really have poor customer service skills. I ran into one young man on a Friday afternoon and he asked if I was finding everything okay and I was actually shocked! This was the 1st time anyone ever offered any assistance in this store ever!!! Times past and even today I would go into the store and the line would be fairly thin and the cashiers would look at me as if I was a statue and offer no assistance whatsoever!! Nothing!!! I would eventually have at ask which registers is open???? Today my friend found a really nice wreath and we spoke with the manager Dan about offering a discount because it was really beat up. Without hesitation he said no! He goes on to explain that the items come in at a discount already and he would not offer a discount. He said if she would turn it around no one would even notice the damage to the back of it. Really??? Now, discount a side it was the way he explained why he wouldn't discount the item. Then a light bulb went off and I realized why the employees didn't have great customer service skills, it is because management doesn't!! This will be my last visit to Homesense. read more
