This store has everything! I needed an outdoor light to replace the one over my garage and bought an LED rechargeable that triggers from motion. I was blown away by how bright the light actually is! I also wanted to replace all of my hi-hat lights (about 24) with LED lights to save on energy and not have to replace them any more. I got a great price and when I changed all of the lights, the new LEDs were perfect. They even worked well when I dim them. read more

This is the WORST store I ever went to! I went there to replace my halogen bulbs with LED bulbs, and Larry, the owner, sold me the wrong bulbs TWICE. I went there with specific information from the Lighting Store on the exact bulbs to get, but Larry ignored my information. When I went back the second time to return them, he claimed they worked and refused to give me my money back. Larry is rude and obnoxious. He claimed he could prove they were the correct bulbs, but NEVER DID! Instead, he cursed at me as I left the store, and I returned the verbal abuse. This has a lot of specialty/novelty-like lights that you may not be able to find in hardware stores. It is more expensive than the hardware store, but if you're in a pinch this is a good spot to try. The cons are that the staff could be friendlier and parking is confusing. I've gotten boxed in a few times because people park right behind you. read more

I purchased bulbs two weeks ago. They weren't working properly. I brought them beck for a refund. I didn't have my receipt. The first young man was trying to be helpful but the older rude, obnoxious older man was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional and when I asked "Whatever happened to 100% satisfaction or return for a full refund?" He replied "Home Depot has that policy. We don't!" This is the manager of a fairly new business. I work with approximately 130 interior designers and hundreds of clients. I am notorious for calling and complimenting services. I am also notorious for slamming bad business people or their employees. read more

The Lightbulb Store was referred by a salespeople at a local lighting store who said they can fix just about anything and he was absolutely right. The manufacturer of my track light fixture told me the burned out sockets in the lamps could not be replaced and I'd have to replace all of lamps - not true! The Lightbulb Store was able to replace the sockets and voila - they saved me hundreds of $. Thanks to Whitney and the fellow who was able to make the repairs. In addition, Whitney suggested using LED rather than Halogen bulbs, I had reservations because of how they would look and she encouraged me to buy a few, take them home and try them. She assured me that if I didn't like the way they looked they could be returned. No issues, I was able to return them and she took them back with a friendly smile. I was looking for two types of Bulbrite nostalgic bulbs. the first was NOS20T9 which i received and paid $12.67 each for a total of 10 bulbs. The second type of bulb was NOS25T6/SQ/E12. A small candelabra base bulb. At first they did not quote me a price but they mentioned that they would call me once they found out the price to confirm if I wanted to place the order. They did call me and quoted me $5.82 a bulb. I agreed and placed an order for 25. I Placed the the order on a Monday and i was promised to receive it by Thursday of the same week. Guess what? I had to wait till the Following Wednesday. The biggest issue is that they made a HUGE mistake on the invoice. They charged me $12.67 for all 35 bulbs I purchased. On my invoice you can clearly see that the price for the smaller bulbs was originally written down as $12.67 but then crossed out to $5.82. But sure enough they did the math at 25x$12.67. I called several time and the airhead lady that answers the phone didn't want to hear it because according to her I should have checked the invoice before leaving. you can google NOS25T6/SQ/E12 and you will see that those bulbs are in the $6 dollar range... Bought three 250 watt photography bulbs in person on my first trip. SLOW counter service but no one else in the area seemed to have them so I waited 15 minutes for the one customer before me to finish and then paid the extra bucks they charge over NYC stores.. The second time I used them was for three 500 watt bulbs which they did not have in stock so I had to wait 2 days. When I picked them up there was AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 charge on my bill for shipping. "David" insisted that he has told me this on the phone but he did not. Had he; I would have just bought the bulbs at B&H Photo the next time I was in NYC and saved $10.00+ but I needed the bulbs for a shoot later that day, and he was obnoxiously stubborn so I had no choice. HOW DOES IT COST $10 to ship 3 very light light bulbs anyway? As I left pissed off, the guy behind the counter (looks like Randy Quaid) wished me a smarmy "nice day." No doubt he had seen his share of pissed ripped off customers before and knew I'd never be back. By the way, if you're epileptic - STEER CLEAR. The inside of the place is lit up with flashing and crackling bulbs like an amusement park on steroids. I almost had a seizure as I waited, and waited, and waited and waited..... Hot as hell too with all those light bulbs on in there.. Today's lighting technology is such that a good bulb will last you a very very long time. That's great, and the prices get ever lower, which is also wonderful. The one regret about all this progress: my pilgrimages to the Light Bulb Store to stock up on whatever I need and to learn about the newest most efficient lighting possibilities are restricted to once every couple years. This place is like a museum or learning center, in addition to being a bulb store. Don't ever shop here. We went in to buy 4 light bulbs. The salespeople were friendly and recommended that we buy a more expensive LED brand costing $122 but they said they were very long lasting. We agreed and they went into the back and packaged the 4 bulbs. When we got home we discovered they were not compatible with our dimmer. They never once warned us or asked us if we had a dimmer switch. We tried to return them and they refused to take them back. Not only that but they were rude and arrogant. We would have purchased the 4 lights we needed that did work but they refused to honor the return. We will never go back there. read more
