The Apple Domain store was filled with people yesterday, however, when I walked in an Apple Store representative immediately greeted me. I did not think my transaction would take long so, I parked in 15 minute parking near the store. I told the representative that I needed a charging unit for my phone along with a chord. She grabbed the two accessories in less than a minute. The only decision point was the length of the chord - 3 feet or 6 feet. I asked if the 6 feet chord was about my height. She said no taller than your height. Haha...ok you're right I'm 5'6". I paid for the two accessories and was out the store in about 5 minutes. Though the Apple Store is very busy...always, there process is super efficient. I happy to report that my phone is charging without over heating. read more

My experiences at the Apple Store Northside Domain 3121 Palm Way, Austin, TX 78758 have been less than stellar and quite often a frustrating experience. I go out of my way to avoid that store, and alas, still ended up having to go there and suffer excruciatingly poor service from the manager, John. I called Apple to have my wife's Apple Watch serviced (battery). Unfortunately, I was told I couldn't send it in from my home via mail. I would have to go to an Apple store. I was given an appointment at the Domain store on Monday, January 5th at 10:30, and I arrived 30 minutes early. I waited 40 minutes. Eric seemed nice and helpful, but even with me explaining that the watch had already been diagnosed. I just came here to have it sent in. We spent over an hour erasing the watch (my wife's watch, who was not there with me) and upgrading it and syncing it with my phone, just to diagnose the watch to confirm it needed a new battery, which I already knew. After dealing with this torturous experience, it was time to pay for the service so the watch could be sent to my home. I would have loved not to have to set foot in that godforsaken, technology-lethargic hellhole that is Apple Northside Domain. Their card swiper showed errors on 3 attempts. Eric brought over the manager, John, who talked over me when I attempted to explain that my chip sometimes has issues, and I could use my Apple Pay. He didn't listen nor hear me. He told me they would have to change the watches shipping to the store, and I could pay when the watch was shipped back. I did not want to do that, but was left with no other choice based on John's impatient insistence and lack of listening skills. Think about this for a moment: "We are having trouble charging you in store, so come back so we can charge you in store..." I'm frustrated, my kid is tired, and I acquiesced. Alas, before I could even get home, I noticed two "pending" charges from that Apple store. I called John, who continued to talk over me, I told him he wasn't listening, and I cussed. I explained to him my frustration, and all he could think to do was complain and threaten to hang up because I cussed. Mind you, I did not call him a name or curse him, I just cussed, cuz I was pissed and frustrated and because he wasn't listening. Example: "You told me there was no charge on my card, and I get home and see to friggn charges on my card!" Anywho, I told him he's in tech, he's heard worse, and to get past it. He explained I would have to wait for the charges to fall off. I explained, How does that help if I come in to pay, and the same thing happens again with their card machine? Either way, I have been in customer service for over 55 years and a public servant for 33 of those years, and John's approach was not customer-friendly. I get it, I would be overwhelmed and stressed working at a chaotic, shit show like the Apple Store Northside Domain, too, but my experience as a consumer has been consistently dreadful and laborious. John didn't help make it any better. Not even an apology for the miscue, let alone the long wait and poor service. In this case, I have no solution for how to make this experience better, other than I wish I didn't have to pay for the poor service, I wish I didn't have to go back to that store, and I wish Apple could just send my watch to my house. I went to purchase the iPhone Pro Max, and the salespeople lost all my files during the transfer. First, I never trade in my iPhone because I worry about the fact that during transfer, I will lose my important documents that have to do with work. I'm a realtor and a podcaster, so I have contracts, agreements, etc. I repeatedly told the girl I'm not trading in my iPhone, but she convinced me that my files would not be lost. I blame myself. I lost everything. The so-called tech employee tried to go to the cloud, and there was nothing. How could this have happened? One guy really tried, and nothing. Despite the tremendous number of people in the store the experience went smoothly. Went there to unlock a new laptop. Challenging a bit to figure out how to get help. Once I found a person with a red polo shirt, got logged into a queue and was directed to a specific seating area the estimated wait was supposed to be 30 minutes. Once a staff member approached me the problem was solved in almost 30 minutes. Parking is in various garages and is very challenging at this location which is in a very popular upscale outdoor shopping center. I have been to the Apple Store at The Domain multiple times. Almost every time I walk in, I am greeted and helped almost immediately. Of course, it depends on how busy they are, but probably 90 percent of the time I get help right away. I recently picked up some new headphones and my new iPhone, and they brought everything out to me quickly. The setup process is usually straightforward, though I would not recommend using their Wi-Fi since it is pretty slow. If you can, back up your stuff at home and do the transfer there. It will save you some time. Weekends are much busier, but the store always seems to have a lot going on. They run tutorials and presentations to show you how to use your devices, which could be cool if you are into that. Personally, I usually just swing by to grab what I need quickly, and that is easy to do through the Apple Store app as well. I live nearby, so it is convenient for me to stop in and check out all their new products. I just got my iPhone 17 Pro with a new case, and it is running great. My Apple AirPods 3 are also awesome. I like them a lot more than my previous AirPods Pro. Overall, it is always a solid experience at this location. read more

Apple stores generally offer a consistent experience, at least in the larger locations. It's been a while since I can remember not being greeted upon entry to the store by a staff member asking how they can help. I've purchased several computers, iPads, and iPhones at this location and the staff has always been very helpful to get product for me from the back room and also assist with transitioning to the new product (iPhone for example) with a minimum of fuss. Items that I am looking for are almost always in stock. Weekends can be a little problematic when they get inundated with shoppers but aside from that, I really enjoy shopping at this store. I'm a resident at the domain so to me it was a good idea to walk over to the Apple store because I was ready to purchase all in one Mac desktop for my office at home. I walk inside and see a bunch of customer service reps in dark blue shits just standing around talking among themselves while customers are looking lost. I waited and waited to see if someone would at least approach me to ask If I needed anything, but I received absolutely nothing. I finally got upset internally and left without ever being approached by an apple staff member. I wouldn't recommend anyone visit this store if you care at all about good customer service. I am giving three stars because staff is nice. But once again, Apple sent me away swearing my phone issue was addressed, only to find it wasn't. This is par for the course with Apple. I live an hour away and nothing they did helped. My phone froze and I am no better than when I walked in. And they talked me into a 2tb upgrade on ICloud. People here are nice and are quick to help without being "salesy". The first time I came this week, I met a kind guy named Taylor who told me about the new MacBook Air features. I was in the area and remembered I needed to get my iPhone's battery replaced. I had no appointment (walk-in) and one of the staff members quickly checked me in after a brief chat. Typically, this type of service can be done within 30mins or less, but I came on a Saturday, which is usually their busiest day. Total service time was around 2 hours as a lot of people came in for service appointments. I did not give it 5 stars because of an OS glitch. Within the FM app, my iPhone has an icon and prompt, Ready for Repair or Trade In (device remains fully functional in the repair state). This message should automatically disappear upon completion of service. Wow..I LOVE Apple...at least I did. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years and always buy from Apple directly for the "Apple Care" warranty and, for the previously amazing customer service. Today I had an appointment at 12:45 to buy a new Iphone 17 and have my MacBook pro checked out (warranty goes out next month...nothing wrong just a check up). Easy appointment...a new first week employee could handle...I checked in at 12:40 and was "seated" for my 12:45 appointment. Great so far...as usual. 1:00 rolls around, nothing so I go check to make sure I properly checked in...I'm told "someone will be right with you grey" apparently referencing my grey hair...yea, I'm 61, offensive to the young tech crowd working the floor of the Apple retail store in the Domain? I wait at my assigned seat, and am ignored for another 20 minutes so I decide to go grab a bite to eat (since I am on lunch break and they're stealing my time) and ask that they text me when they're ready for me and I'll come back. Reasonable? Or am I supposed to sit for an hour til someone mercifly helps me? It's now after 5pm and I still haven't heard from them. Apparently, they don't want to help me because I'm just not the target market hipster. Or because they're a company in decline? Mistake. Apple you need to Extend my warranty for a year because I'm headed to Los Angeles to work and be back in the fall '26. Horrible experience at Apple Domain Northside. I asked them to replace the battery in my I phone. They said they could do that, but then noticed a small crack in my camera, and said they would have to also repair that. Because the cost of that would be very high, they said the best thing was to get a new phone. I told them I didn't want the camera fixed, I just wanted a new battery. They said they couldn't do that, they had to fix everything in the phone. I subsequently went to another, non Apple store, and was able to just get the battery replaced on my phone. I feel the service at the Apple store was very dishonest. They were clearly just trying to pressure me into getting a new phone, instead of just dealing honestly with the simply problem I asked them to fix. We had an appointment set up today to get my son's IPhone 14's screen repaired. Unfortunately since the back of his phone was also cracked he needed to get both sides repaired which ultimately gave him a replacement phone (Soo thankful for AppleCare!). During this visit, we received the most wonderful customer service from Kendra. She thoroughly explained everything as we went through the process and was the sweetest person. This Apple location is quite big and was super busy today. However, despite being busy we didn't wait long at all for service as Kendra came right up to us to assist. I also learned today that they offer sessions there like the "Create your own emoji" class they had this afternoon. Pretty cool. read more

WTH Apple! I'm disgusted that you would hire these type of people. The sales woman charged me double tax. (Called my credit card and they are disputing it for me). Said she had to because Apple calls the color blue, lavender. I kid you not. (Where are the smart people Apple). Your failing!!! I didn't want blue. So she brought me a pink phone which I accepted. If you're coming here for a repair, be prepared for a vastly different experience than if you're buying something. This Apple store is located on a corner of a busy intersection, which took about 10 minutes just to get thru due to the heavy volume of people trying to cross the different streets. For bulkier items like iMacs, Apple discontinued free onsite service and there's no curbside drop-off option here. Luckily, I was able to find parking nearby and didn't have to lug this huge iMac all the way from one of the parking garages, which aren't exactly nearby. This is a serious safety issue and ironically, while waiting for my appointment to begin, I overheard customers talking about how there have been people held up and robbed at gun point in the Domain. By the time I made it into the store, I was a few minutes late to my appointment. They directed me to a table that was seated with a bunch of people and then the wait began. As I waited I began to notice, you can tell by people's demeanor the two distinct reasons they're in the store. For people shopping, they are excited and they're getting service right away. The store honestly, doesn't feel big enough for the volume of people in it. Then all the people waiting for service are the polar opposite - stone faced, going on irrate because your device isn't working as expected and having an appointment seemingly doesn't mean anything as they've likely been sitting there for 30-60+ minutes beyond their appointment time. And after waiting about 30-35 minutes PAST MY APPOINTMENT time, I finally got asked if anyone had helped me yet. Wow, 30-35 minutes to even get acknowledged but if I had told them I was ready to buy a new Mac, I could probably get help in seconds. When my "Genius" finally arrives, he has me take the iMac out of the box. It almost feels awkward in the middle of this crowded space to take this huge computer out and put it on this little cramped table. But someone decided, that this - being crammed on top of each other like passengers in coach on an airline - was a better experience than having a dedicated space for support like the Genius Bars used to provide. Meanwhile, tables devoted to sales are spaced out amply, like first class on an airline. Nonetheless, I get my iMac setup and as it's powering on and I explain that it's been to an Apple-authorized repair place three times for the same issue and they keep giving it back to me citing no fault found. Yet the problem continues. He unsuccessfully attempts to run a diagnostic on it and then without any official troubleshooting starts to spit off a list of things it could be. As I'm thinking this is odd, he pivots and out of the blue asks "have you thought of trading this in? It's currently worth $325." I'm so stunned and caught off-guard I was literally lost for words. This computer is not that old (2019 and we're barely entering 2025). Apple's computers aren't cheap and I'm literally being offered 1/10th the purchase price, yet you haven't even done any sort of troubleshooting on it. It dawns on me that "Geniuses" don't exist anymore. Everyone's a sales person. They don't care about getting your device working. As far as they're concerned, it's disposable and they likely get more accolades for getting you to upgrade over repairs. Ironic for a company that's supposed to be all about the sustainability and the environment right?! I explain to the "Genius" that Apple doesn't make an iMac comparable to mine. My display is larger, RAM is 64GB (which isn't even an option on the current model) and has more ports, etc. The only system they sell that's even close to mine in spec would be the Studio which is $3999 and doesn't even include a monitor, keyboard and mouse ($5,896 after adding all of that). Even after this explanation, he's un-phased. He gives me a quote for the most expensive component that could be the cause of the issue that we can't even confirm IS THE ISSUE (in this case, $598) and it's completely lost on him that this is 90% cheaper than buying a comparable new system. It's amazing to me that if you purchase AppleCare and you run into an issue after it ends (it's worth noting there was no option or offer/extend coverage), I have nothing to show for that money spent on the plan. A company that claims to be about the customer can't even be bothered to go "hey, we see you had AppleCare on this and you never used any of the plan, so we're able to offer you a 25% discount on the parts" or something to that effect. Something that really exemplifies the service and sustainability they claim to stand for. The rest of my appointment was tailored towards upgrading pressure tactics from the Genius stating the repair is only warrantied for 90 days to trying to make me prepay and sign agreements for parts not received or service not completed with no issue resolution guarantee. Basically trial and error on my dime (for parts and labor) until they find a fix. I took my iMac and left. read more

Both showed outstanding knowledge of the job they do and their customer Service was Awesome. They were able to take care of my issues and I was out the door in lest than 15 minutes. By far the best experience we have ever had purchasing a new phone. We went to upgrade two phones to the 16. Uko was the most thorough employee we have ever had. The website said take them to the Apple store. So I drove over to have them looked at. When I got there there was a line around the corner to get it. I walked up determined to wait... not too long after I got in line a gentleman came around asking if I had been spoken too yet. After explaining what I was there for he informed me that I would need a service appointment and that there were none to be had for that day. He said I could wait, like stand by, but it may be a very long wait. Then he said that most issues fir AirPods resulted in having to ship them off or getting new pieces and most of those can be handle by calling the Apple care line. Sometimes you make a product that is so great that you use it to justify running a retail location in a way that is completely asinine and frustrating for your customers. I have an iphone with a dead battery. So I come in to have it addressed. A "genius" tells me I need an appointment to have it looked at. I tell him I know what I need, which is a battery replacement. The "genius" tells me it's going to be 30 minutes to get someone and then it will be two hours. So I'm going to wait a half an hour to then wait two hours. Not ideal, but neither is a dead phone so let's get it over with. I spend the next 90 minutes watching 4-6 pairs of store employees at any given time talking to each other and not customers, certainly not me. So thirty minutes is a guess or a lie, but certainly not reasonable. Finally I just walked out. Save yourself the aggravation and avoid this place. Not only will this completely avoidable BS keep me from returning here, it will keep me from buying future Apple products. Check out ANY OTHER RETAIL BUSINESS, GENIUS. read more

Complaint Apple Store, 3121 Palm Way, Austin Texas Horrible Last Thursday, 10/17, i took my 86 year old mother to the Apple Store in the Domain as a low vision specialist recommended the ipad for its many options for the visually impaired. She called to make an appointment and explained her needs but they just told her to just go to the store - no appointment necessary. We arrived about 11:00 am we waited a very short time for a salesperson. The hostess told us upfront about the wait and we had no problem waiting. The sales associate, a young man, was so helpful and he showed her everything she needed. She decided to purchase the Ipad and the sales associate said they would get her set up and transfer the info such as contacts, messages etc from her iphone to the ipad. He walked us back to a table and introduced us to a young man who he said would take care of her and process the credit and he would check back.. She had had an old ipad mini she wanted to trade in, if possible. So he started the process). The mini was dead so they needed us to charge it to make sure it worked. So the nice young man told us to have a seat and that he would keep an eye on the ipad mini. And he did. It took a while and the ipad finally powered up and he started the process for the $40 credit. As he was getting info he kept talking to other customers and we kept having to wait. Since we hsd never been in the store we thought this associate was asigned to us to complete the sale with us. She had been standing for sometime and was getting confused- they had her inputting her info into the phone,old ipad and new ipad and then waiting for the associate gor the next steps while he was helping others. After this went on a while i finally asked him if we could just finish her up. (We were never rude or disruptive) but the next thing you know this large man, who said he was the supervisor or manager, said his name was Kevin, came over and said loudly " i sense some negativity here and started "a loud condescending lecture" on how it works at the Apple Store and how could you possibly think that we could tie up one person for just you went on and on. He was so rude and loud and totally out of line. We had no idea what your process was. As a "manager" he should have asked us what was going on. We were stunned. If it wasnt for my mother I would have walked out. Then he pulled the young man who was helping us and said "walk with me so we can talk" and a new associate came over. This process went on and on and I think associate number four came over (because the 3rd associate helping us was given some trainees to train at that table and never looked up again). Assocuate 4 asked what Mom was trying to do and she explained they were transferring her info (contacts, erc) from her phone to the ipad at which point the associate told her he did not recommend putting info from the phone onto the ipad. After all this time, he was the first to mention that to her. She asked what he meant and what he recommended but he never gave her an answer. She was so confused so she just said transfer from phone. Then during this time Kevin came back and as i turned around to speak with him my hand brushed his arm and he said "dont touch me, you can ask me anything but dont ever touch me". I was flabbergasted and speechless! And i was furious. But i held it together for my moms sake. Then he pulled that guy that was helping us (we were waiting as the ipad was updating). and we got the fifth associate. Once the ipad finished updating and it rebooted, the fifth young man walked her through a quick set up, but never tested it out to make sure it worked properly and we left well after 2:00. i will never ever visit that store again. I have had iphones and ipads for years and used Apple products since the first black and white Mac Classic. I will be rethinking any future purchases. And i will share this experience!. Well my wife's headset started to fail this morning and she will be traveling tomorrow and needed a replacement ASAP. I ordered online and requested pick up at the domain. When I pulled up it looked like the place was mobbed. I parked a half block away and went to figure it out. Apple has this covid stuff down to a science. The worst customer experience. Both from this store and the main apple center as well. Bought the beats earbuds for 199.00 and it lasted couple of months. I got one of them replaced (since they say, they don't repair). They call it "new", but it actually is a refurbished item. (It happened for me for the phone in the past too. They just recirculate your damaged devices while under warranty.) Now after another couple of months, it stopped working again and this time, they refused to repair it since the mesh was loose/damaged. How would I even know what condition the mesh is, since they 'recycled' it before. Am I supposed to open it up every time? The people have no idea, what the company is doing and they just blindly blame the customer... I have more than a dozen apple devices now and I am no longer going to buy any more of their devices...
