The worst customer experience. Both from this store and the main apple center as well. Bought the beats earbuds for 199.00 and it lasted couple of months. I got one of them replaced (since they say, they don't repair). They call it "new", but it actually is a refurbished item. (It happened for me for the phone in the past too. They just recirculate your damaged devices while under warranty.) Now after another couple of months, it stopped working again and this time, they refused to repair it since the mesh was loose/damaged. How would I even know what condition the mesh is, since they 'recycled' it before. Am I supposed to open it up every time? The people have no idea, what the company is doing and they just blindly blame the customer... I have more than a dozen apple devices now and I am no longer going to buy any more of their devices... What's the point in being proactive and scheduling an appointment ahead of time, only to arrive and wait for more then 30 minutes in a queue, to then have to leave so you can get back to meetings at work before you're even attended to? These guys know what they're doing. I have never walked in and not been asked if I have been helped. The store is wide open like most of their stores and is really a cool vibe when you enter. Everyone is happy because their customer service is amazing and their products are laid out in a really great way. You can run your eyes by their set up and practically know where everything is in a glance. I love this location and the fact that they are so on point with their service. Parking is what it is here. I had a pretty stressful experience here recently. My new iPhone 13 pro had been having issues, including not taking charge. I come in with an appointment assuming they'd help and it'd be a pleasant fine experience. The guy we got was in a weirdly aggressive mood the entire time. He couldn't find anything wrong, and then kept insisting the issue was having too many apps open. When I questioned if really that would cause battery problems, he got increasingly defensive. He then made me close them one by one, while he counted them in a weird condescending tone, and then was like "see the problem??". I then didn't know what to do...he didn't really help, and my phone still wasn't going to charge. I ask further if there's anything to do that might help and he starts being like "what, is getting a new phone the end goal here for you??", literally being accusatory and talking like my issue wasn't real. And it's just like uh....I just need any solution at all. It was extremely stressful, he didn't seem to know what he was doing at all, and his attitude was just crazy for someone whose one job is to be friendly and helpful. I love being friendly and helpful myself, and couldn't imagine talking to someone the way he was talking to me. It was my first experience having an issue with my phone ever really, and I didn't expect the customer service to be so weirdly bad from Apple, which is a company I always thought of as respectable. read more

The wait to pick up preordered items has been short every time I have come to this location, even on a super busy day like today. Their system for greeting and triaging guests is seamless. You don't stand waiting forever for someone to even acknowledge you like you do in cell phone carrier stores. They also send you quickly to the right person to meet your needs. I've never been redirected because a person can't help me with what I need. You can also make appointments online, which is very convenient. Last time I came, my wife forgot to put me down as the one picking up my AirPods and the person who helped me was very patient and helpful. She walked me and my wife (on the phone) through the process of getting me in the system so I could pick them up. I was very impressed. I appreciate the customer service at this location. If you can't find street parking, just turn by Second Bar + Kitchen and there is always parking in the garage or in the parking lot to the left. It's a short walk! read more

My iPad wouldn't turn on and I was not about to lose my data. Hustled over to Apple Northside to see if they could fix it. Actually called in advance to schedule an appointment. I typically get to appointments early, this was no different. Unfortunately they will not check you in until 30 minutes before your scheduled time. So I found a seat under one of their inside trees to wait. While waiting to check in, I took pictures of the crowded waiting area, decided there weren't enough seats, wished they sold bottled water for us waiters, played games on my iPhone, checked my watch numerous times so I could check in. Finally the guy who told me I had to wait to check in, found me to say he is checking me in now. Nice touch, he remembered me. Waited 2 minutes and a pre-techie asked me what the issue was and informed me someone will be with me shortly. She wasn't kidding. Another 3 minutes and my Genius came looking for me. I did all this for nothing. Turns out the iPad decided on its own to do a hard reboot. So I needed the two finger turn on instead of the one finger turn on. The genius told me next time to use the call in support first before coming all the way in to Apple support. Thank You Apple for making this almost painless read more

Yesterday started out so fine. I had made an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Domain for a new iPhone battery. This is a very common repair and requires only average technicial skills. I had one iPhone battery replaced in 30 minutes at Walmart. But not this day! I dropped off my iPhone and 230pm yesterday. I returned at 410pm as told by the Geniuses to pay $90 and collect my iPhone with its new battery. How perfect! About 30 minutes later the Genius tells me my iPhone's mother board died while replacing the battery. What! No explanation! How unexpected is this! They will generously give me a "new" iPhone for $399 plus paying $90 for the battery replacement with the new iPhone battery. Of course to me, this was kinda outrageous, unfriendly and unfair as my iPhone was working fine when I gave it to these Geniuses. What happend! The manager hearing my moans quickly agreed to give me the new iPhone free plus still pay the $90. I paid the $90! But now the new iPhone was set to factory defaults. However "no worry" because I back up my IPhone every night to the Apple iCloud. So their genius technician will just download my tons of data from the iCloud to the new iPhone. But No, the genius screws up the download losing significant amounts of my data lost forever. The worst part is losing all my saved passwords. I have reset about 50 passwords from banking to social media. Then retype them in the password settings. A real PiA! The Domain just turned their backs on me and sent me away. No I couldn't talk to Katy the Store Leader to file a complaint. So, I went up the line speaking to two Senior Apple advisors by phone one at Apple HQ and one online technician. Bottom like much sympathy but there is nothing they can do. I was told if I wanted to talk to Katy or get my $90 back then I have to do it myself at the Domain store. One advisor called this Katy 4x but no one answered and no voice mail. The iPhone future looks dim to me. Taking warning! read more

The store is fine but what I hate is getting there. Crossing the intersection in front of the store is scary. Why isn't there a crossing pedestrian light or a traffic cop there on busy days? Relocated from the original Domain side to the new Domain Northside location. So while walking down Rock Rose I see a massive futuristic store with the whole front facade as a sheet of glass. I see the Apple logo and wow this was one cool looking store. This new store is much larger than the previous one with plenty of natural lighting. Like any other Apple store it was packed with people inside. There was a huge video display on the back wall which looked super sharp. I needed a phone case for an iPhone 6s and walked over to the area with phone cases. It was a wall with different colors and choices for cases to try out. Each had drawers with the product inside it. I selected a color and had an employee help me. She had to call in to someone in the back to fetch to case. In the meantime I chatted with her and observed customers playing with products and learning how to use them. Soon my case showed up and paid by using Apple Pay. read more

I was looking to buy an Apple Watch (mainly to track my sleeping because I used to average 3-5 hours of sleep a night) but wasn't sure which size or material to go with so I made plans to visit the Apple Store near me. Unfortunately, because I'm an idiot, I didn't schedule an appointment and just showed up all willy-nilly on my day off. Well that was a poor decision. Thankfully they were able to schedule an appointment for me in the next several hours so I went on over to Culinary Dropout for lunch and a drink - so tasty! I made sure to arrive a little earlier to the store than my appointment so I would not be late....and proceeded to wait.....and wait........and wait. It was over an hour past my appointment time before I was actually seen by someone. The problem was that I also had someone coming to my home to repair my oven at 2:00 and I ended up having to reschedule that appointment because of how long it took to actually meet with someone. The appointment itself was wonderful and I was able to narrow down my options with the help of an Apple Team Member, but I was rushing through the entire appointment to try and get home to meet the technician. Not the most ideal scenario. In the end, I ordered my watch online and I am enjoying it immensely, but my in-store wait time when I DID have an appointment left something to be desired. If you need to come to an Apple store, be prepared to wait for quite some time and make sure you have an appointment as it seems to be appointment only at this time, which is absolutely understandable. read more

You know, if you like the Apple ecosystem (and I do) you would think going to the store would be enjoyable. Its not. I've been to other Apple stores but there is something singular about this location where they smuggly deign to deal with you and yet make you feel like you're bothering them just the same. I've been to the store - normally to pick up something I've already bought - but I made the mistake of showing up without - gasp! - an appointment! I just wanted to show my partner some watches to see which one she might like. I swear to God, I just wanted to look at them. Somehow we managed to get a snotty helper who seemed like she hadn't gotten enough sleep. She actually cut my partner off a couple of times until I said "whoa - just listen." Not sure what her problem was and don't care. Here's the deal you rotten little core, if you don't like people asking about your products you probably shouldn't be in retail. Of course, I still like Apple products but I really like online shopping now. Between Covid, attitude and crappy parking there is no reason I can think of to go to this store (never had this problem at Barton Creek). If you do go, however, for God's sake make an appointment lest you be shunned like you had the plague. read more

Let me be clear, I am not a subscriber to 'conspiracy theories', and I tend to trust people and organizations until they show me I shouldn't. This week, after more than two decades I am breaking up with Apple and its products because of my experience. This is not a review of a particular individual/customer service person, it is my refusal to accept bad abusive policies adopted by a huge conglomerate whose treatment of its customers is appalling. Those policies and practices affect our money, disrespect us as consumers, and rob us of what is rightly ours; they are insidious and intentional. They give you the run around so you give up. So here it is. On July 17th I ordered an IPad from Apple.com - on-line because I dropped the one I had and cracked the screen. The cost to repair the screen was $699.00, so it was cheaper to order a new one. I used the Apple Card utilizing an offer where you pay a monthly amount until you pay it off with no finance charges. Finally, July 23, the IPad is delivered to Luxor box system my building uses and I get the email notification-you have a delivery. 6:23 PM same day I go pick up my package, open it and the IPad is damaged. There is glue all over one side of the screen, and it isn't sealed properly, screen is slightly popping out. I take a picture, and I call customer service, probably in India, or who knows where. I get Kevin-his accent made it a bit difficult to understand-maybe Ken...definitely with a K though. I describe my situation, provide tracking and order number. He begins to interrogate me, when did you order it? When did you get it? Send me a picture? no empathy, no apology here (until end of conversation after I ripped into him). I was incensed. Needless to say, that conversation Didn't go well for either one of us. I provided the order and tracking numbers, he knew all of this information-I knew he was looking at all this on his screen, so why was he so disrespectful and wasting my time? Here is an Apple policy according to this guy, to return a damaged product-their bad quality control, in the store, I had to make an appointment with the Genius Bar-the store. We finally made the appointment, after a half an hour of unpleasant exchange: the next day I marched in there. I was greeted by a pleasant enough young man, and informed he can't check me in because I am early-I was ten minutes early. I had to wait then come back and get checked in. They check you in then you wait some more until someone comes to help you...wait wait and wait. I sit and wait. I look around and it appears six or seven of the Apple store representatives are just hanging around shooting the breath while the store is full of waiting people??? Finally, Mike comes over. Mike is professional, he listens politely as I complain about the treatment, and the process. I say I want a simple even exchange...fine, he passes me on to two other people, who admit they have never seen an iPad with damage like that, wow...blah blah blah. I want an even exchange, they bring another one out...half an hour plus has passed at this point. Can I just do an even exchange? NO, I have to pay for the new one while it takes them five (5) days to process the refund for the damaged one? REALLY!!! YES, because I used the offer of paying installment. At this point I am so angry and disgusted, I want a refund, and never want to hear or see APPLE or its horrible overpriced products again. I get my refund-made sure I have the email receipt before I leave the store and march out. I look at the card balance to verify refund of the installment I paid, you guessed, refunded the wrong amount. So now I have to call the card, argue with them and hopefully get my money. PREDATORY and abusive business policies and practices; arrogant customer service and disrespect for the consumer. We are being treated badly, but for some reason we accept it...it isn't ok. For a fraction of the cost of an IPad Pro, you can get something else, trust me, I already found it. Apple doesn't care because they get away with it like so many other BIG companies. They take us for granted...they figured it out, we are sheep and will just follow. read more

This place is always so crowded. But there is logic in all of the madness. I've never had to wait to long to pick up my item, make a purchase, repair or return something. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It always looks nuts from the outside but it's not too bad when you get in there. But it is for sure crowded. There are plenty of tables to look at any item that you are interested in. The order online and pick up in store is my favorite thing. I was able to order my iPhone 11 Pro and AirPods Pro for pick up in store next day or same day rather than having to wait weeks to a month for it to be delivered. This store seems to get better inventory. read more

had appt for 12pm vision pro demo. 1230 not one person came by to give me an update on wait time so i left. i'm sure vision pro demos is the least important over sales. this is the second time they've done this. other time was in nyc occulus. employee said when u check in the manager gets notified and the manger has to pick someone from the sales floor to do it. which i doubly is gonna happen if u go during busy time. if u don't have the man power to support ur reservation times then reduce your avail appts. read more

The MacBook Pro I bought 15 months ago is having a hardware issue the display stopped working. Out of warranty and they quotes $757 to fix it, when I just paid 2k for it last year. They blamed me for not getting Apple Care. I understand it is my responsibility when I drop something or there's an accident. The "manager" Chad told me "well, with technology, we just never know how long it will last" I GUESS THOSE ARE THE APPLE STANDARDS NOW. Additionally, I was there with my 2 kids who witnessed the conversation. After he told me there was nothing he could do and go to the Apple website, I walked away and I could hear him and a coworker who witnessed the conversation just laugh out loud. My 9 year old pointed out: "Mom, why would they laugh at you? Why would they be so rude to you?", Great example for the little ones, Chad. read more

My boyfriend woke up to a hacked phone this morning. His recovery email and phone number were changed making it impossible to gain access. After spending an hour on the phone we were ushered over to the Apple store. The person who helped us first let us know there was not much they could do. All that was attempted was them doing exactly what we did, go to reset the password and once again be prompted to an entirely different number and email. They seemed oblivious to the fact that the phone was hacked into, kept insisting we had to have access to the phone number. Anyways, even after speaking to a manager we were essentially pawned off to AT&T. After several hours of speaking to chat agents at Apple and researching online I was able to get a case started with Apple, and get better guidance on what to do and expect. I can't believe a trained professional at Apple who does this everyday was so quick to give up and send us away yet someone how I was able to do what they were not. If you get hacked just go through Apple support chat or Reddit, they seem to do more than this place. read more

Tip: make an appointment online to come in otherwise you will wait. It is a nice place but a little too packed for my taste during a pandemic, but they do require face masks. They provide them if you need one. Street parking is available up/down the street. This place was packed! I had an appointment. The employees are very nice and checked me in. I arrived about 20 minutes early which shocked them. 3 employees were staring at me when I was directed to be checked-in to the left on entry. I cracked a joke before a nice tall young man offered to check me in. I got to explore while I waited and diagnosed a different problem I had. There are a ton of Apple employees standing around to assist. A little too many in my opinion, some idol chit chat among younger employees. Older employees were more apt to ask if I needed help, chatted with them and asked my questions about products. My appointment was 1:45 and my technician arrived at 1:46. Excellent service! Lydia was so sweet and helped me with my device. She diagnosed it, made recommendations, and I was thankful and out in less than 15 minutes. I enjoyed working with Lydia. This apple store saved me a replacement iPhone when the Barton creek location ran out. I was happy since it was their last iPhone X replacement in the area. If not, I would have had to go outside the Austin area to get a phone on a Friday afternoon. Which wouldn't have been fun as I had already been without a phone for almost 2 whole days. I give them a minus star as their WiFi access sucked. It took extra time getting my new phone set up enough so I could leave and head back to south Austin. read more

I usually don't go into the Apple Store, but I am in the market for a new laptop and was seriously considering a MacBook. I stopped by to see one in-person. The Good: I liked that there was someone at the door giving masks and sanitizer. I liked the spaciousness of the store. It was busy, but it felt like I could still look and move around. I liked that it was low pressure and I could explore options without people hitting me up for a sale. There was just about every apple product available to test drive and it was nice to explore on my own time without anyone bugging me. NEEDED IMPROVEMENT: While the hygiene bouncer at the door was cool, he also talked a bit and there was a line out the door. It took awhile to get in. Despite people being given masks, many weren't wearing them inside and no one was sanitizing the floor models so yuck. Most importantly, when I had questions about the laptops I was there to ponder, there were no geniuses to help me. Not even any moderately intelligent help. I waited for awhile to try to find some assistance and left after 10 minutes of needing help and not getting it. Overall, it's a great place to go test drive Apple products but not the best at customer service. read more

The employee was condescending about why my phone was draining and then told me to come back at a certain time to get my phone fixed same day to then find out she lied and shouldn't have promised it. I've returned multiple times to get my battery replaced and try to call each time to save myself the hassle but can never get to a live person that works in the store. Two stars because you solved our phone issue and the Tech who assisted us was competent. Full disclosure I'm an Android guy and my partner is an Apple fan but I believe she is now moving away from the dark side. The issue: her iPhone locked up. I followed their online directions to no avail. We arrived the Domain location with an appointment and were greeted promptly and told to have a seat and a Tech will be with us shortly. Apparently in the Apple universe shortly means 40 minutes later. When we hit the 40 minute mark we flagged down a Rep and were informed it would be another hour before being helped. Please note shortly means 100 minutes in the Apple world. Oh, the Rep also said when we text you that your Tech is available it could be another 10- 20 minutes before being assisted. What an effing joke. Let's compare when I had an issue with my Samsung phone (which costs two thirds less than an iPhone with the same features). I made a service Appt, was engaged with a Tech shortly after arriving, and was out the door in 30 minutes or less. Lastly, It was big fun trying to interact with the Tech while a loud presentation was happening. It was also wonderful that our Tech had to stop and applaud the presenter when prompted. As were finally escaping the AppleMadness I could only think that we were escaping a cult. read more
