I don't have a car, and he worked with me to make the process simple instead of turning it into a hassle -- that alone was a huge plus. He replaced the drive and even charged less than what I found at Best Buy, which honestly surprised me. The end result? My computer is running like it should -- fast, smooth, and no more frustration. On May 14th of 2026 my sister and I took my computer over to Jason's Computer Repair, on May 25th Jason sent me a text saying my hard drive was failing, that I needed a new one and the cost would be $499.00, he said someone else would charge me thousands (I am repeating what is on the text from Jason) I said okay to the $499.00 plus tax and I waited and I waited, he said he had to order the new hard drive, so I waited and waited. On June 2nd Jason said he had the new hard drive and needed another day or 2, On June 9th Jason said I could pick up my computer and I did. The next day my computer crashed again. So I decided to purchase a new computer and when the tech came to my home to set up my new computer, he asked where is your old hard drive, I said Jason Computer Repair didn't give it back to me. I text Jason I would like my old hard drive back, he lied and said he gave it to me the day I picked up my computer that I must have lost it. I said no you did not give it back to me. I was getting nowhere with Jason so I took my original old computer that Jason said he put in a new hard drive in to A computer Engineer in Austin, What they found inside was an old hard drive, older than my old computer (there was no new hard drive and he did not download my old info onto the old drive he installed. The computer Engineer gave me the proof of the older hard drive and they could not recover any of my data, there was nothing. So I gave Jason another chance and asked him if he would look around to see if he could find my old hard drive and he lied and still insisted he gave it to me. I have no idea what he did with my original hard drive or who has all my old info. Now I am experiencing stolen identity. My Amazon Prime account stolen, I have had to report all my credit cards stolen...it is a nightmare. All my info with user names and passwords were on that original old hard drive, My social security info, my medicare info, etc. etc.....I do not know for sure if Jason sold my info but it is sure crazy that he will not return my original hard drive....Did he put in someone else's computer ? Did he sell my info ? I don't know for sure what has happened to my original old hard drive, all I know is that Jason was the last person to have it and is lying about giving it back to me. I ask how someone can do this and I just don't know unless he is selling info for money? All I know for sure are is that we trusted Jason and took my computer to him on May 14th, I picked up only my computer on June 9th, Jason refuses to return my original hard drive, he did not replace with a new hard drive and charged me for it. It is the worse computer experience I have ever had. As a student at UT, I am truly unimpressed with their level of service. Do not go to this business…read morewith your laptop or any device that needs to be fixed.  I wanted to get an estimate of what needed to be fixed and how much it would cost to fix my laptop. I submitted an online ticket and dropped off my laptop. I heard no update all weekend or on Monday, so I called on Tuesday morning when they opened at 10 a.m., stating I would be picking up my laptop and looking at other places to get an estimate. SURE ENOUGH someone had picked up my laptop right after I left a voicemail stating I was unsatisfied with the timeframe, received no updates on my laptop, and was taking my business elsewhere. I was charged $50 for someone to "look at it" when I didn't want the service anymore. I had to pay the $50 to get the laptop, and I called THREE different numbers multiple times to stop the process, but that was clearly ignored.  This business is no good for UT students who need their laptops fixed quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. They were going to charge me $300 for service and replacement. In comparison, I went down the street to 1Up Repairs and was quoted $170.  Overall, I am frustrated with receiving no updates, finally getting in contact with someone after the service I did not want was completed, and the service charge of $50 that was not known unless you scroll to the very bottom of the website and then it states it in very small letters. They scam people out of $50 and try to say, "It says it on the website and every time we call." Well, I never received a call back from the 15 calls and voicemails I left until the inspection was completed, so I never got to hear that they would charge me $50 for an inspection.

Twice they have recovered most of my data, and only once was the drive too far beyond repair (tbh, I knew that as soon as it happened). I've noted the AustinPCTech office in its current location for years, but had never had the occasion to use their services. I went there blindly, as I knew of their longevity from personal observation, and doubted any business would survive in NW Hills without being reputable. I was greeted by Robert and explained my quandary. He advised a reasonable course of action and took the hardware into their work stream. Luck reigned when findings were rendered the next day: the keyboard was toasted but the motherboard, etc were unscathed. A replacement keypad was ordered; Robert worked with me to schedule shipping in accordance with my priority so we could manage cost as much as possible. The part arriveda few days later: I was advised of it's arrival and told to expect a call on completion the next day. Robert called first thing on the day promised -- he must've cranked the work overnight. Back in business, albeit, now using a USB-connected external keyboard to allay risk of another catastrophe while I quaff another cup of joe.

Was sold a 'replacement' computer that did NOT have the proper cable output for my network…read more Was told problem was the cable, so bought one, didn't work, but bought another, which didn't work either. paid hourly rate to tech to route cables thru walls, only to learn that the computer itself was the root problem. Tony, who seems to manage all finances, not only refused any request for offsets, but refused to discuss the issue, forcing me to pay his total balance of $3000, then banning me from further service. The management style is heavily passive aggressive, and the result is thousands spent with no end in sight to a functioning network. Tony REFUSES to speak w me now, much less come see the problem that his company has created, and now I must pick through all the parts left scattered around my office by the tech, who ALSO is avoiding calls. $135 Per hour to route cables that were never going to work, but NOW its all my fault for not specifying an exact computer replacement, when they ALONE decided which computer I needed. They made one HUGE mistake since I last used them (in my opinion), and that was changing their MEMORABLE name from Computer Nerdz to Limitless Tech, which is one of the most forgettable names I can imagine.
