My phone was completely locked down. I called AT&T for help they were extremely rude. I raced on my lunch hour to the Apple store at the Burlington Mall. I wondered in with no appointment just frustration that I could even do a reset. There was a lovely lady that quickly asked if I needed any help. Her name was Deb and had just started at the store 3 days ago. In a minute she had my iPhone up and running. She took all the stress I was experiencing and relieved it in no time. I would highly recommend Deb as she was extremely attentive, understanding, kind and such an unexpected pleasant experience. The store should be grateful to have such a beautiful, special lady. I want to be clear that this review has nothing to do with the Apple Store or the team there. They were very courteous and professional and if this review was on their team, I would provide 5 stars and encourage consumers to continue to shop at this location if they want to work with Apple. This review is about Apple as a company. I've been a loyal Apple customer for over 15 years, across multiple devices and services. Recently, my 7-year-old child made several subscription purchases on my account in excess of $500. Apple denied a refund, strictly citing terms and conditions. While I understand that I am responsible for managing my child's access, and I have since addressed that, I find Apple's refusal to show any flexibility in this situation unacceptable, especially given the age of the child and my long-standing loyalty as a customer. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Apple. As a result, I will be pursuing alternative companies and services and significantly reducing, if not completely ending my use of Apple products moving forward. I was at the Apple Store in Burlington yesterday. Upon arrival, I was informed by the greeter that I would need to wait approximately 30 minutes. My name was not taken. During that time, the greeter, who was wearing a hijab and black eyeglasses, did not assist any customers. After the wait, I asked again if someone could help me. She responded "no" in an angry tone. When I reminded her that she had said the wait would be 30 minutes, she told me that if I couldn't wait, I should leave. Her behavior was very rude and unprofessional. This is maybe the tenth time I've gone into this particular location, and have left again without buying anything. This last time, it was a busy Saturday afternoon when my daughter and I entered the store and a greeter asked what he could do for us. I explained that I'm interested in moving from my huge Android phone to a smaller, recent model iPhone for various reasons. I had brought along an iPhone SE, which I had gotten cheap refurbished from Amazon, and explained I wanted something this size only newer. The greeter then turned to a sorry looking guy with a grim face who looked like he had just come from a funeral, and asked him to help me. So I had to explain all over again, and the guy had no suggestions. He never smiled. He acted in fact like a man who was facing death. I have not ever met a sales clerk who was as depressing and unenthusiastic as this fellow. I had to do all the heavy lifting. I asked to see the iPhone 16, the 16e, and the other sizes. I asked whether there were any current discounts or deals, and he said "no". He did suggest I check with my carrier, and whipped out his phone and started bringing up my account on my carrier. He asked me for my phone number and other information. He asked for my pin, which I couldn't remember, so I told him I can just bring up the web page at home. At first I thought he was helpfully searching for deals for me, but it turns out he was actually trying to sell me a phone. He almost pulled it off, too, until I realized what he was up to, and said, "I'm not buying the phone!" My daughter was embarrassed because apparently I said it too loudly. But you know, I was surprised at what this lout was doing. I NEVER said "okay, let's do it, I'm going to buy the 16 now". In summary, this character has zero sales skills, zero social skills, overall a terrible representative of the Apple Store. We'll go to a different store when it comes time to buy. He helped us find the best specs to run our work programs and analyzed how a computer could meet our personalized needs. I would like to give this store a higher rating, but the sales person who "helped" me purchase was incredibly condescending and hurried. She had an air of knowing all, while knowing little. She was "so proud of me" that I knew my passwords, seriously? I asked her how to power off the iPad A 16, and she said, just close the cover of the case, just like that, as she ran away quickly. The iPad will NEVER power off that way. Please educate your sales personnel. Tricia was more helpful than the initial sales person when my email wasn't transferring yet we needed to consult with the manager. Of course, reboot, which I likely would have figured out independently at home. Tricia did check several times since the person who rang up my purchase was on to several more people. I'll also give a positive review to Sameer, a greeter the previous night when I first browsed the iPads. I was leaning towards another iPad Air and he was helpful explaining the capabilities of the A16, which I ultimately purchased. Nonetheless, I LOVE the new iPad and will learn what else I can do by exploring online. Apple really doesn't need a store, the products sell themselves and I would have saves a few dollars purchasing with Prime. still, a store is nice for those of us who like to see what we purchase before it arrives in a box on the doorstep. Came here to trade in and get credit for a MacBook Air and an old iPhone. When I arrived, they had 2 staff checking people in at the front entrance. I didn't have an appointment, so the staff at the front entrance asked me what I needed and I explained. She put in my information on her iPad, pointed at the table where I should wait for another staffer to meet me and help. What's Hot - Wait time/system. The staff at the front entrance didn't take very long to ask me what I needed done and tell me where to wait. I also didn't wait long for the staff who found me at the desk to help me. I waited only a couple of minutes. During this time of the pandemic, their staff explained that the public can make appointments online for in-store service. Good to know, because I've always walked-in for service. Even so, I was still able to get service without having made an appointment. More importantly, I didn't have to wait long and I came on an early Saturday afternoon when the mall was busy. - Service. Polite and efficient. Their staff who helped me didn't waste time. He was efficient. He knew what information he needed to look for on my old MacBook and iPhone to determine the trade-in value. I received max trade-in value for my items. To be fair, the trade-in value is going to depend per item, but it just goes to show how well I take care of my tech! Haha... I know it was the max trade-in value, because I used Apple's website beforehand to enter the general parameters to determine what a max trade-in value could be at the store. When the staffer, who was helping me, needed help, he was able to get that from another staffer who stayed with him until he was finished. Because I brought in 2 items, they gave me 1 gift card with the requisite value for each item. They then combined both values and put it on one gift card, which I appreciated. I definitely didn't want to keep track of 2 cards. They also gave me the choice of trading in my items for something new that day or putting it on a gift card for future use. They were helpful and informative. They answered all my questions. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, I saw all their staffers wear a mask. No exceptions. I did see a few customers not wear masks, but we're also in the time where federal and state governments are beginning mask and/or vaccine requirements for businesses, as well. What made me more comfortable is that ALL staff were wearing masks. - Layout. Clean and open. The inside of the store looked clean and well-organized. Bright, spacious, and accommodating. I had a Genius Bar appointment at 4:35 and it took a full 50 minutes for anyone to get started helping me fix my computer, as apple employees walked by informing me that my tech would be with my soon, when in reality they must've had no idea and just wanted to do whatever is easiest. I watched a bunch of them walk around aimlessly like I'm not sitting in the middle of the store waiting, and none of them have the management or will to help me out or figure out that I've been waiting for an hour. It's just a very poorly ran business, so i recommend you go anywhere else if you want to get your time and money worth. read more

I went in 2 days ago to warentee 2 simple cables that stopped working. I showed them to the manager on duty, Jeremy. It would take 6 minutes tops to to swap them out. Instead he says I have to come back tomorrow for an appointment. I come back yesterday for my appointment. I show the greeter my screen captured confirmation for my appointment. I have to wait 45 min. Told they can't warrantee the cables.... I correct the manager Tricia and show my receipt. She gave the employee the wrong information and the employee also did not know what he was doing. I finally get one cable. We wait for the second cable. I'm informed that Burlington doesn't have any more replacement lightening cables. I see a full stock of them on the shelves and the pickup table. Oh....those aren't replacement cables. Note: there is a a full on New England blizzard going on outside. The mall is clearing out (empty now), the Apple Store is emptying out. We're told that there is a cable in Cambridge to be picked up. I inform the manager the 25 min Uber is now 55 min because all the accidents, snow/sleet and dangerous conditions on the road. So a 2 hr round trip and a $150 Uber. I also inform the staff and Tricia ( "manager") that I am disabled (an American with disability). I also noted that this happened last year with a different cable at Providence Place Mall Apple. They just overroad the system and took a cable off the shelve. I had to call literally 17 times to the Providence Place Mall Apple Store number. I asked for the store repeatedly as per federal law and Massachusetts law. I was hung up on or put on indefinite hold 16 times. Vile. The 17th time I got the store. The team member said...."Oh the manager can take a cable off the shelf, especially with the storm that's what we would do." Adam the manager on duty confirmed this. I called Burlington store to set this up as I sat at the mall. That way Tricia could save face. The Burlington store number gets you an operator in Guam that Apple is paying 1¢ on the dollar...she try's for 25 mins to get Burlington to pick up, remember the store is empty with all its employees. Vile again. I go into the store again. No help from Tricia, she doesn't care about ADA, or the storm or the accidents, the slush or doing what Jeremy promised to do the day before. She is everything wrong with Apple and their greed with their 3rd world workers and sweat shop factories in China. Vile. My appointment was for 5:00 pm. The Greeter logged me in on this tablet and this action generated a interaction with the on-call Manager. The Greeter informed the Manager I was ONE MINUTE late. I was instructed to take a seat. After waiting more than 40 minutes, I approached the Manager directly and informed him I needed to be served. I then informed the Manager that it was not appropriate for him to be so brash in his approach to me and his Greeter and his unprofessionalism was unacceptable. I have heard many stories about Steve Jobs being a perfectionist with his Dream Team of creating better and better products. Inexperienced staff that tell customers inaccurate information at Burlington Apple. Took my son's phone in on a Wednesday they told me it had a faulty board and needed to be swapped for a total replacement. However they didn't have it in stock. They let me know lynnfield marketplace had it in stock I said great I can drive there and pick it up. They called lynnfield Apple then told me the manager there "would not approve holding it" for me. That was odd to me, but they said they could have another phone overnight shipped to the store for me to pick up Thursday morning. Ok, inconvenient but things happen. I go there Thursday morning and they tell me that the phone that was shipped from lynnfield -- (WHAT?? I said I would drive there!! Why did you ship it? They wouldn't answer this) wasn't there yet and overnight shipping can actually take 3 days and that I shouldn't expect my phone until Saturday. I explained this is my teenage sons phone and he can't go three days without being able to contact me if needed and the tech literally said "oh he will be fine" not that I should have to explain but my son could be going out of state, driving, etc. I asked for a loaner phone and was told "we only give those out in certain circumstances" and wouldn't elaborate further. I ended up driving to Nashua where the iPhone 15 was in stock. I told them the whole story and they said "it's not an Apple issue that store is a mess" I asked why I would have been told the lynnfield store wouldn't hold it for me and Nashua stated that would only be said if Burlington filled out the notes incorrectly. Which is believable since they can't even manage the difference between overnight and 3 day shipping. Remember when Apple was cool, kind and customer service focused? Now - As bad as can be. Went in to get a keyboard. Nicest guy but clueless. I brought my IPad to ensure it fit. They didn't have one on display. Told me instead of them opening one I had to purchase it and take it home see if it fit! and then if not return it. Of course it didn't fit (which was great bc I bought it on EBay for less than half the price). I sch an appt to return it. They tell me there is a wait but not long maybe 20 mins? Had an appointment with a glib and surprisingly rude Mac bar genius who was totally insensitive to the fact my computer with years of research had stopped working out of nowhere. Beyond telling me there was nothing he could do and that I was lucky to get what I did out of my computer (truly perplexing why this individual was so defensive of this massive corporation), he was not at all helpful. Sales representative, by contrast, was very kind and helpful as I tried to find a replacement device. Still the store did not have what I needed in store, and I was looking at 2 week delivery times. Generally, Apple stores are more and more opaque to users--there is no signage or written info about any of the products available, only on the products themselves. The system they have in place for arranging appointments is convoluted and does a disservice to the employees and to the customers. I ended up going to Micro Center in Cambridge--they were incredibly helpful, tried their best to salvage my laptop and then helped me purchase a new Mac for a lower price than I found in Mac stores. I walked out of Micro Center with a new laptop, and great warrantee coverage. Highly recommend skipping the Mac Store altogether and just going to Micro Center! read more

I was helped quickly, and the employee I worked with was very patient while I took my time deciding which phone I wanted to go with. Once I selected, he went through the iPhone Upgrade Program process which meant trading in my old phone to get my new phone. All was great, left the store with my new phone. Fast forward to yesterday. I received a call from a ?manager telling me that the whole upgrade was done incorrectly. My options? Go back to the mall for a ~30 minute visit to re-do the entire transaction. Or I could just pay more for the phone that I already traded in that I no longer have in my possession - no thanks. When I asked the employee if I would be compensated for my time due to the fact that it was their error that is making me have to come back to the store she said "we'll see when you get here". I scheduled an appointment to have my son's iPhone battery replaced, because it was always dying. Looking over his phone, I noticed the charging cord wasn't going in all the way. I didn't want to replace the battery if there was a physical problem with the phone, so we went in to try to get help. It was more than an hour before our appointment, and we checked in with Scott. He listened to the problem, and told me there were no earlier appointments, but took the phone over to a charging station at the wall. He said there seemed to be something obstructing the charging cable and found someone who could perform some kind of cleaning/maintenance in the back. It took about 5 minutes or so, and he comes back and tells me it's fixed! It wasn't broken and we didn't need a new battery. Any best yet, there was no charge! I really appreciate Scott. He could have told me to wait for a technician at my scheduled appointment time, but he saw my son was hyper and has autism, and the wait would have been difficult. If I could give a ZERO I would. It's a Saturday morning and I need a Genius Bar appt to resolve issues I am having with my AirPods and iCloud. Go online try to make Genius Bar appt through apple website - not possible because the website talks about Genius Bar spots but never lets you make one, instead insisting on resolving your issue via chat with someone in Mumbai or Cupertino. So call Burlington Store phone number instead since online option does not exist. But the "local" answering interface punts me to international customer service regardless of what I ask for ("sales clerk", "human", push 0 over and over - does not matter). Hey Apple I want to call my local store and make a Genius Bar appt or go online and do it in ten seconds the way I could six months ago.....Not possible. So I show up at the store and (total shock).... they tell me 90 minutes until the next appt. Their explanation: the system is trying to resolve issues that don't need a Genius Bar appt. Yes, I get it, you know better than the customer about what is needed.....AND you so devalue human interaction between sales force and customer that you are trying to minimize it. Background: Apple family (2 MACs, 3 ipads, 4 phones, etc....) Daughter #1's phone had problems + cracked screen and was left for service. Issues still under warrantee, $$ for new screen. Made appointment to pick up which happen to coincide another phone screen crack needing replacement (daughter #2's phone dropped earlier same day). When we picked up D#1's phone, tried to leave D#2's phone for service. The response: absolutely NO. Why? We had no appointment. Actually, we did but they would, under no circumstances, allow. Needed to make another appt for another day to drop off. REALLY?? Where is the customer service? Apple makes such a fuss *not* to have screen fixed elsewhere - places that will simply fix the screen in less than 1 hour at the same $$ yet does nothing to make simple fixes easier for the consumer. read more

My MacBook Air suddenly locked my out during a time when I absolutely couldn't go without it. I walked into the Apple Store at the Burlington Mall this morning without an appointment and was able to see one of their geniuses within 10 minutes. Jenna was able to get my system out of the password re-set loop it was stuck in very quickly, helped me to re-set my password, and rescued me from what would have otherwise been a very chaotic week. Ooph, people are rough on this place after only one bad experience. Mine have been about 80% positive after frequent visits over the years, hence the perfectly aligned 4/5 stars. It all depends on when you go. Weekends are killer, I was there this past Sunday a few days after the iPhone 7 launch and they actually still had a rope up outside to let people in the store, when I only wanted to buy a gift card. I snuck around them with no issue. But a few times I've taken in my iPhone for general maintenance (I always seem to get lint in my charging port, causing a lack of power getting to it), it's either a five minute wait or 45 minutes. And I'm fine with 45, I like how they text you. However, the last time I was checked in, they didn't get to me for another 20 minutes beyond being told to have a seat at a table, so that was over an hour to be seen for an issue that took five minutes to resolve. Only once though have I been charged for assistance and I don't even have Apple Care. That was because of water damage on a phone a few years ago and knew I would have to pay out of pocket for a replacement. But all around, you'll get decent service here most of the time. It can be tough to find someone to pay for an item since they don't really have cash registers, another minor complaint of mine. When you're in the Apple Universe, you're just supposed to know these things, I guess. One negative visit shouldn't warrant one star just like one satisfactory visit shouldn't warrant a full on 5-star experience. But hey, they get the job done when needed from what I've seen and am still happy to return here when I have product problems or just want to play with a new gadget. read more

Not a well run store. I always have problems here. The genius ends at name tag. Doesn't make it to the brains. So, I only come here occasionally out of convenience to pick up a standard packaged item. Unfortunately, that's what I tried to do on Independence Day. It was a rather quiet day and we only had to wait 15 minutes. But then their computer system was down and they couldn't activate iPhones. Oh well. Return next day. We were told by "security" that we could not buy accessories for an iPhone 12 unless we knew what we wanted. Are you serious? One phone case at Apple is almost over 50$ I should be able to pick what I want. She continued to argue with me and my husband telling us we couldn't go in then said okay get in that line over there. Words cannot describe how bad the Genius Bar is at this location. I have been "boomeranged" 3 times now for the same issue on my Mac mini. Original problem was brought to this Genius Bar on November 7th. Today is January 6th and the problem still exists. In this time I have left the computer for diagnostic testing where they found fault with my 3rd party ram. I sent the ram in for an rma and when it returned the same problem persisted... Again. I have been without a computer for almost 2 months and they are not able to diagnose or repair the problem even though I have purchased an apple care policy. I am in the store now awaiting service. I had a fabulous experience at this Apple Store getting my computer looked at at the Genius Bar. I had bought new RAM and in order to get it into the laptop there were screws that needed to be removed on this metal piece. Very tiny screws .Obviously I messed this up and completely stripped one of the screws. I came here without much hope and 2GB of RAM wasted and unused. I should not have given up hope! While I had to wait a bit (even though I made an appointment) once they got to me, they were SO nice and courteous. The guy (wish I remembered his name) told me that everything would be fine and it was! He got the screw out and replaced the whole metal part! FOR FREE! While he couldn't install my RAM (it was not Apple's) he definitely fixed what I had screwed up. If you ever have a problem with your Mac come here! You will not be sorry. EDIT (08/18/08): Hard drive was busted on my 1.5 year old Macbook. The Apple Store "Geniuses" (we're using that term LOOSELY for these people) at the Boston store told me nothing could be done and it would cost $300 to fix. I took it to this one and what happened?
