This is the first apple store that do not treat customer well. The staff is very rude. Unfortunately there are only two apple stores in Tampa area. Paid over $200 for a laptop battery replacement in the Apple Store in Brandon Mall. My MacBook Pro was sent out to be repaired, three days later I received the MacBook Pro with a letter stating that it is not under warranty so the repair was not complete. I already knew it wasn't under warranty and that's why I paid for the battery. Waited for the charge to clear on my credit card, went back to the Apple Store and asked for a refund. The employees were completely dumbfounded, stating, I see your repair was never completed, but I don't know why you were charged. Ok! Glad we were on the same page at this point. Next they give me a phone number to call for a refund. When I called the number the Apple operator said, I don't know why they gave you this number. Long story short, the Apple Store knew my repair was not completed and that I was charged for no reason, but instead of refunding me they gave me a customer service number (that couldn't help me) and sent me on my way. Another almost dead IPad battery. I made an appointment for 12:25 on a Saturday figuring I may regret going on a weekend. But I needed my iPad!! When I got to the store I was greeted by a very nice young man. He confirmed my appointment then walked me back to the Genius Bar area and seated at a table. I don't think I waited 5 minutes before Kit came over to see what my issue was. I told her about my battery issue so she tested my IPad and sure enough it was only charging to 33%. She then said they could exchange my IPad for another (refurbished of course) for $99 plus tax. I expected that which was fine with me. She then gave me the bad news...they were out of them. Horrors!! But she checked with the Tampa store and they had one left so she called them and reserved that IPad for me. Bad thing was I had to go to International Plaza in Tampa! Ahhhh, a shopping mall....Horrors!! Anyhow I was in and out of the store within half an hour. No muss no fuss even though the place was screaming! So why only 4 stars? They sent me to Tampa!! I decided to bite the bullet and buy and iMac. I had been researching what I thought was best for my needs for quite a while and it came down to two different iMac's. Being that I have and iPhone and iPad already this was pretty painless. I walked into the store on a Thursday night around 6:30pm (fish) I was immediately greeted the moment I set foot in the store and I was escorted towards the selection of computers I was interested in and within about 3 minutes I was greeted by Lauren. She was an absolute pleasure to talk geek with. Her personality and knowledge was a delight! She answered my questions and seriously I was on my way within 15 minutes. Absolutely painless transaction. The overall experience is why I love Apple. I know there will be accessories in the near future that I will purchase I hope to have Lauren again. This specific store location exemplifies the epitome of stupidity and incompetence. Yesterday, my wife, sister-in-law, and I stopped into this store to buy a new iPhone XR (a process that typically takes five minutes especially if you're buying the phone outright). We were informed that there would be a 30-minute wait due to associates handling other customers. 30 minutes just to buy something? I've never walked into Nordstrom and had to wait 30 minutes just so I could buy underwear. Forty minutes had elapsed and the only attention we received were three different associates approaching us, only to inform us that we were second in line to receive assistance. Upon each occasion where an associate would notify us of our place in line, they would return back to the center of the store and stand there aimlessly, not assisting anyone. Eventually, my wife had to approach an associate (named Gio, who believes his name only has one syllable) and inform him that we were only there to buy an iPhone and it was then that he reluctantly assisted us with a simple transaction process. One-syllable-Gio finally sold us an iPhone XR, but failed to open the box and test the product's ability to power on and function properly. Long story short, we found out the product was defective. After being charged for 30 minutes straight it never turned on. I performed all sorts of reboot attempts and they all failed. Now, my sister-in-law is without a phone (because she traded her old phone in), and we will have the pleasure of being inconvenienced by returning to this store of morons where they can give us a fully operational phone. My recommendation - save yourself the hassle and just drive out further to the Apple store in international mall. Or....ORRRRRR....ready??? Go on frickin google and just do a simple search and you will get your resolution to your issue immediately. I had a great experience today! I went in to get my phone repaired. A bit hesitant at because I was told the cost to fix could vary between $29-$99. As soon as I was assigned to Juan he was extremely helpful. He ran a diagnostic on my phone and told me he unfortunately would not be able to fix my phone that there was a lot more damage to my phone, but it was covered and I could get my replacement right there and then. He helped me back up on the spot and then helped me get everything set up on the new phone. I inquired on some other stuff since my Apple care was expiring next month and he was extremely helpful and explained how it all worked. I was out of there within an hour. I did have a prior appointment set up for 1140. However, I walked in before my appointment time at 1012 and was able to be scheduled for 1015 and was gone an hour after. I would give this place a zero star if I could. I advise people not to come here if you want to repair something. I went here to change out my battery for my iPhone 6s plus. I handed my phone over, and they started to change out the battery for my phone. When the technician guy came out, he came out not with my phone, but a shattered screen! This place shattered my phone screen which was almost in perfect condition. What was supposed to be a 49 dollar fix turned into a 218 one, plus tax, and the total came out to be 236.54. I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment and am writing this review as it is 15 minutes PAST my appointment time and not a single Apple employee has updated me on how much longer I will have to wait. What I am here to do should take no longer than 5 minutes but it has taken over 30 minutes for an employee to check in with me. I purchased my Macbook here a year ago and recently came by for some service on it. EXCELLENT store. If you make an appointment, they are sure to keep with the time and help you. While sometimes the appointments are not the same day, they do a damn good job of helping you out. My most recent visit was for what seemed to be a battery issue in my laptop. The staff was extremely friendly upon greeting me when I arrived and took my information to expedite my visit. The staff seems to have a certain schedule where they convene behind closed doors and then 'floods' the store at certain time slots to help as many as possible at one time. I didn't catch the name of the girl who helped me, but she went above and beyond to check my laptop doing multiple tests and explained everything she was doing. She didn't have to spend so much time with me, but she did to ensure I went home and didn't have the same issue. The service is free of charge and it is of very high value in my opinion. The store itself is very clean, although a bit crowded during heavy business hours. The staff is readily available to help and not pushy in any way whatsoever. I remember when I purchased my Macbook, they simply asked what I wanted. Not trying to up sell me at all which is really important in my opinion. While this is not a cheap place to shop, the quality is through the roof when it comes to the product as well as the staff. Well trained and always a good experience. Nice job Apple. read more

This apple store is more concerned about making a dollar than they are with customer service. We went in to see about getting a phone that was only 5 months old and purchased at their location repaired or replaced, they acknowledged that the phone was not damaged by any fault of our own, but refused to help since we didn't pay for applecare. I called apple, they issued an out of warranty replacement and the Brandon location REFUSED to honor the replacement, so we instead went to International Mall, where they were more than happy to replace the phone at no cost to us. Made an appointment to replace an air tag that was defective. Got to my appointment a little early and was greeted by a pleasant young man(I believe his name was Ronnie) and told him I wanted to also make another appointment for a different problem on a different device. He offered to take a look at it while I waited for my scheduled appointment. He walked me right through it and solved my problem in just a few minutes. Lisa then came up for my scheduled appointment, replaced my airtag for me. She also was so pleasant and courteous. We were out of that store in 30 minutes. I've come to realize that every Apple Store has a different vibe, from the 5th Avenue monster glass cube to the modest stainless steel enclave that is the Apple Store in Brandon, FL. A tad less expansive than its cousin at International Plaza, this Apple Store makes up for space with the most well-tuned customer experience I've ever had. I took a trip to the Brandon store because my iPhone's main button (only button) wasn't working. The greeter, equipped with a clipboard and an iPod touch running some sort of custom software, not only welcomed me with a smile and some congenial banter, she also had me scheduled for a "Genius Bar" appointment in a matter of seconds. I was encouraged to look around. Each of the employees ran that perfect line between ultra-helpful and downright annoying, which is much better than running the line between unhelpful and comatose. Each interaction while I was waiting showed that the staff was knowledgeable on the product, but also just kinda happy to be there, which is a nice contrast to the cold fish feel I get from International Plaza. The only reason I can't give five stars is Apple's appointment system. Every time I've used it, I end up waiting for an extra half hour to a hour. Despite the wait, the Genius Bar service is also stellar. They solved my problem within minutes and sent me on my way without any red tape to break through. I hope they keep up the great service and friendly attitude at the Apple Store Brandon...don't become elitists, kids! read more

Worst Apple Store I've ever been in. The "screening grunt" who stands at the front of the store gets to decide whether and to whom you can be referred at the Geek Counter. His bedside manner is terrible, haughty. Wanted us to explain the entire issue to him and he was not smart enough to "get it" but wanted to "teach" (talk down to) ten year users how to put in an Apple ID and password, grabbed an IPAD out of an elder person's hand to connect it to in-store wifi (without announcing what he was doing, just grabbed), walked away to help others, so it was not a continuous conversation and then said our problem was not fixable and we didn't need the referral to anyone else (and he had not even seen the second person/Ipad issue we brought in). In the midst of this, there were 3 Apple employees and 4 "Apple campers-elementary youth" off to the side having a lesson. The leader YELLS at the top of his lungs with a paper megaphone to assist, freezing everyone in the store waiting for emergency instructions or something. A few minutes later he does it a second time. Besides being frightening and causing anxiety to shoppers (none of the youth campers enjoyed it either), Mr. Moronsky, our screener, dared say it was an instructional technique to keep the kids interested and attentive? This was not a football field and with 3 adults and 4 kids, if bellering were required to "teach", this store needs to look at the competence of its camp leader. With 40 years of teaching experience, I can assure this store that yelling is not a "teaching technique" and they should be ashamed of themselves for behaving like this. We left with neither of our IPAD issues resolved--and decided against the (two) thousand dollar Apple products we could've walked out with purchasing. This store needs a review of its practices and to terminate the jerk they put in the front of the store to represent them and the guy they have as a camp leader. I drove about half an hour during my lunch break to get here and have my phone replaced and was told there was over a two hour wait (on a Tuesday afternoon). They say that I am forced to meet the tech who will fix it. I don't care one bit about meeting this guy. I don't want to meet the guy who installed my tires. I don't want to look in the mirror at myself half the time. I pay for all the insurance and don't want the inconvenience of waiting around. Having an Apple Store at the Brandon Mall is pretty awesome. I'll go in to check out the latest gadgets, look for some iPod accessories, and sometimes check my e-mail or websites. Workers are really friendly, but will leave you alone if you request, they don't force their way. I recently went back to the Apple Store at the International Mall and found that it's much too crowded and Brandon's location is much better for the claustrophobic. I can't complain with their customer service. As always I haven't had a bad experience with this particular store. Today I was helped by Marcelo and the whole experience of leaving my laptop to get repaired to having an iPhone cable exchanged for a brand new one was flawless. You have to make an appointment first before going in if not your chances of getting any help besides purchases are slim. Most of the times they are very good with taking care of you within 15 minutes of your appointment time, sometimes if there are a lot of people they run over by 30mins. For a Saturday I was surprised that the store was not packed at all. Usually you can't even walk inside the store during the weekends. But overall today was a good experience as always in this particular Brandon store. read more

Each time I visit this location - I find the workers to be helpful and knowledgeable. I like going into techie-type places in which the workers are passionate about their products and know A LOT about it. I also like knowing that they may have a slight edge on me knowledge wise on the products...but not too much. I am a techie-junky just like many of them so I like to test them or see if I can give them a run for their money before they take my money -- because I am generally trying to buy something if I step foot in that store. Ordered, paid for and scheduled a time to pick up a watch. It is one hour since my pick up time. I was told when I got here at pick up time that their system crashed and they were having difficulty filling pick up orders. I was told 3 times to cancel my on line order and purchase in the store. I read the reviews on his location before coming, but thought I should see for myself- plus this was the location that had the watch color combo I wanted. Bad move- would have been easier to order online. Two and a half hours later I'm sitting waiting another three hours to see a tech. Customer service needs to be pro-active. Knowing we had already gone onto the second watch and it still wasn't working they should have booked tech an hour and half earlier than they did- like they said they were going to do. I had to ask more than 6 times to be added to the docket before they actually added me to the schedule for a tech. They are clearly not empowered here to take care of the customer and are not confident in being able to fix problems. Walked in five minutes after opening. Told what I was looking for was on counter three tables in. Four sales people in gaggle at door talking to each other. After a few minutes asked if anybody could help me. Rudely told by Apple guy near me someone would show up when it was my turn. As I never pulled a number or anything how was I expected to know the Apple system or where to sign in. Sales lady shows up. She could not answer half of my questions without going off and finding another sales person. The questions were Apple compatibility of MS Office. I figured they would have that info at their fingertips as I would expect it comes up a lot. Finally got the data from a long term worker. My decision: I'm not buying about three thousand dollars worth of Apple due to the shopping experience and what I would expect to go through if I ever needed to have it worked on. read more
