I was in the middle of building a new PC when I realized I was missing an ARGB splitter--one of those small but essential parts that can completely stall your progress. I called Alafia Computers and was immediately impressed by how friendly and helpful they were. They even took my cell number and texted me photos of the different options they had in stock so I could choose the right one before coming in. I was in and out of the store in just a couple of minutes. Quick, easy, and super convenient. Shops like this are exactly why we need to support local businesses. This part wasn't available for pickup at Best Buy, Staples, or anywhere else nearby. Without Alafia, I would've been stuck waiting at least a day for Amazon. Instead, I was back to building within the hour. Highly recommend! read more

Alafia Computers - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Riverview, Florida

Today, I walked into the shop looking for help with computer adapter. My son, 11 yrs old, was trying to help explain what we needed but was cut off by representative. When I stepped in to clarify, I was told " that's not how cables work". Rather than taking time to listen, explain or offer guidance, the interaction became dismissive. Even though I desperately needed the help - I walked into Alafia Computer store with someone that didn't care to assist. As a customer, I understand I may not have the technical knowledge, and my son was simply trying to assist. There is no need to make us feel uncomfortable/ awkward. I won't be returning to this store. read more

I have a new laptop and needed help getting some initial setup done with my profile. I asked Eric if he could help me right away because I was here from out of town. He graciously agreed to get it done before the end of the day. Very pleased! read more

My computer was running well than less impulse speed. It would take over 20 minutes to boot up, webpages were at a stand still, and it was loud. Eric fixed ALL of that. He put a solid state drive, more memory and a fan in my computer. Cleaned everything up and now it's working like a new computer again...better, faster than before. I have to seriously endorse him for his knowledge and expediency....got a 1 day turn around and as a photographer, that's vital to not be without a computer for very long! Eric knows his stuff and is very accommodating. Thanks again for bringing my older computer back to life. read more

If I could give ten stars I would. My new PC wasn't working out of the box. I looked up every computer repair place near me and Eric'a shop had some great reviews. I can't say enough about how awesome of an experience this was. Eric resolved my issue in just two days, repaired it with fair pricing, and my PC was back in my hands and up and running. I recommend this place highly! read more

Very knowledgeable and courteous. A+ service and cost was more than fair. Highly recommended.

They are very friendly and easy to work with and helped me with an issue three other repair shops couldn't. I would highly recommend coming here as your first option! read more

We have been taking our computers to Eric for years and will continue to do so for as long as he's in business! He is honest and fair and gives great customer service. I recently spilled milk on my laptop and he could've told me any number of things were wrong(and I've no doubt other places would have and would've tried to sell me a new one too). All it needed was some corrosion cleaned from the ssd drive and a replacement keyboard(that's where most of the milk landed). He does excellent work and keeps you up to date on the progress of the work. A+++ Highly, highly recommend! read more

Took my computer equipment here today to have it checked out for the first time. This place was recommended by a friend, who has had his computer infor service. The owner was very pleasant and personable from the time I walked in. He was very helpful and informative during my visit. He patiently walked me through on fixing my computer problems. But I was really impressed when I asked how much was by Bill for his help and he said that there was no charge. I felt that he was honest and upfront with me. I do appreciate that aspect in people. I highly recommend this business for your computer needs. AWESOME! read more

Had an odd error and was at a loss of why my CPU would not post. After a long process of checking everything I gave up. Chances are it was power related or a mother board issue, maybe firmware. Dropped off the PC well before closing. The next day got a text saying to pick up the PC, refusal of service do to cat pee. After picking up the PC seen a small area that was splashed two minutes to clean it up. Ordered a delivered same day mother board from Amazon and fixed the PC myself about 20 minutes after the part arrived. I probably saved $100 to $200 bucks easy. The guy is blunt, pretty much low on social skills. Clearly a small issue to overcome to make a easy fix profit but I guess he was too upset. read more

I used Yelp to find this business, and that turned out to be an excellent idea. Eric is smart, competent, quick and honest. When my PC's audio died, I did several tests and decided it was a sound card issue. I took it to Eric Friday afternoon and explained all my tests. He could have sold me a sound card, and I would have been completely happy. Instead, he tried some tests I would not have thought of, found the problem to be in a new Windows 10 setting, fixed the setting so it would not bite me again, and had the PC back to me Saturday morning with a small charge for half an hour's work. Guess where I'll go the next time I have a PC problem. read more

This place is a gem tucked away in a nondescript shopping plaza in Riverview. Eric runs a very clean, neat shop that sends a message as soon as you walk in that they know what they are doing. Communication is great and he is always spot on with waiting time and cost. Wish more businesses were as professional as Alafia Computers! read more

Worst service I have ever experienced. I left a review on google as well, but somehow he can manage to delete it. I was charged $80 for doing nothing. He refunded me the money only when another customer came in. He couldn't find the problem and I fixed it on my own. read more

My business server with all my customers data crashed on a Friday. I was dead in the water and with the weekend coming up I did not think I could get it repaired. So I made a few calls decided to bring my server to Alafia Computers. I met Eric the owner and he explained my options. Knowing it was a 50/50 chance of getting my data back I left it in his hands. The next day I got the call I was waiting for.... YES! He saved my business!!! He also recommend a back up dive & utility to prevent any future losses. Cost was very reasonable almost half as much compared to the larger places like Best Buy. Thank you Eric for getting my computer back on a Saturday ready for Monday! Your expertise and your quick turnaround time made me a life long customer, I will bring all my PC needs to you in the future. read more

Called for help about getting our computers and server hooked up right, told them we had wires everywhere and didn't know what went where, was then told by the Tech that the wires '"go where they are shaped" in a sarcastic tone, didn't seem like the guy wanted to help at all, soooo we went with East Bay IT, needless to say they are much better to deal with and seem to know a lot more. read more

Slow expensive service. shopping center is dirty and run down. They overcharge for parts as well. I found a local mobile company call Computer Rescue Tech. His service is very good. He got my dead laptop up and working in a 3 day return. I told my friend about him and he fixed his dc jack very fast and cheaper than Alfia computers. I recommend to contact the small mobile guys. read more

Our computer was aging and had been updated to Windows 10. It literally slowed to a crawl and was locking up in buffering mode. We were new to the area and after a search found Eric at Alafia Computers. After he worked on it, the performance returned to the impressive speed it once had when it was new. Although some of the hard drive sectors had gone bad, he was able to recover all of our data and copy it to the new drive while providing us with the old one as a back up. He removed all the crapware that had infected the machine and installed a free anti-virus system. This was done in a very timely manner ( two day turn around) and he communicated every step of the process along the way. We are extremely pleased with the whole experience and thought his invoice was very reasonable considering the alternative of having to buy a new computer. We have no reservations in returning to him in the future should our computers need servicing. read more
