Today, I walked into the shop looking for help with computer adapter. My son, 11 yrs old, was trying to help explain what we needed but was cut off by representative. When I stepped in to clarify, I was told " that's not how cables work". Rather than taking time to listen, explain or offer guidance, the interaction became dismissive. Even though I desperately needed the help - I walked into Alafia Computer store with someone that didn't care to assist. My computer was running well than less impulse speed. It would take over 20 minutes to boot up, webpages were at a stand still, and it was loud. Eric fixed ALL of that. He put a solid state drive, more memory and a fan in my computer. Cleaned everything up and now it's working like a new computer again...better, faster than before. We have been taking our computers to Eric for years and will continue to do so for as long as he's in business! He is honest and fair and gives great customer service. I recently spilled milk on my laptop and he could've told me any number of things were wrong(and I've no doubt other places would have and would've tried to sell me a new one too). All it needed was some corrosion cleaned from the ssd drive and a replacement keyboard(that's where most of the milk landed). The owner was very pleasant and personable from the time I walked in. He was very helpful and informative during my visit. He patiently walked me through on fixing my computer problems. Had an odd error and was at a loss of why my CPU would not post. After a long process of checking everything I gave up. Chances are it was power related or a mother board issue, maybe firmware. Dropped off the PC well before closing. The next day got a text saying to pick up the PC, refusal of service do to cat pee. After picking up the PC seen a small area that was splashed two minutes to clean it up. Ordered a delivered same day mother board from Amazon and fixed the PC myself about 20 minutes after the part arrived. I probably saved $100 to $200 bucks easy. The guy is blunt, pretty much low on social skills. Clearly a small issue to overcome to make a easy fix profit but I guess he was too upset. read more

I used Yelp to find this business, and that turned out to be an excellent idea. Eric is smart, competent, quick and honest. When my PC's audio died, I did several tests and decided it was a sound card issue. I took it to Eric Friday afternoon and explained all my tests. He could have sold me a sound card, and I would have been completely happy. Instead, he tried some tests I would not have thought of, found the problem to be in a new Windows 10 setting, fixed the setting so it would not bite me again, and had the PC back to me Saturday morning with a small charge for half an hour's work. He got my dead laptop up and working in a 3 day return. I told my friend about him and he fixed his dc jack very fast and cheaper than Alfia computers. Our computer was aging and had been updated to Windows 10. It literally slowed to a crawl and was locking up in buffering mode. We were new to the area and after a search found Eric at Alafia Computers. After he worked on it, the performance returned to the impressive speed it once had when it was new. Although some of the hard drive sectors had gone bad, he was able to recover all of our data and copy it to the new drive while providing us with the old one as a back up. He removed all the crapware that had infected the machine and installed a free anti-virus system. This was done in a very timely manner ( two day turn around) and he communicated every step of the process along the way. We are extremely pleased with the whole experience and thought his invoice was very reasonable considering the alternative of having to buy a new computer.
