Long review because I am so irritated! Bottom line - DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!! They took my money and never fixed my watch and they still have it. my Apple Watch in on a Tuesday for a screen repair and was told that they would need to order a part, but that it would be ready by Thursday. I was made to pay for the repair upfront, I was told that was because people do t come back for their items sometimes. I thought it was weird, but I needed my watch fixed because I was going out of town the next week. Thursday, comes and goes...I call on Friday and am told that it is almost done and that someone will be calling me back. No call back. I call on Saturday and the guy who answered the phone says "we're so busy, you're watch should be getting done today (WTF they told me yesterday it was almost done!) and I just got back from lunch, I'll call you back in a coupes minutes" I told him I needed the watch because I was going out of town... It is now Sunday and they are closed and I don't have my watch and they never called me back! read more

My son needed his iPad fixed due to have messed up his charging port. They were very profesional answering their call and explaining the process. As well as in the store how the process of fixing would go. The only reason I gave them a 3 out of 5 is due to the fact that they did ask if we decided to upgrade to a newer iPad version vs. paying to fix my son's. We decided to see the new version iPads. The issue was, those iPads looked "beat up" and we preferred to stay with an old version which was in good condition completely opposing to the new ones. Also, while fixing our tablet our perfectly good screen was broken. They did fix it but I had to call and ask why in our QR code of receipt we were being charged when we check the iPad before handing it. This had no scratch or was shattered. They should explain while fixing the iPad if it is dropped, broken or shattered from on their end and they will/should take care of it. read more

Just picked up my sons 2016 MacBook Pro that needed a battery replacement and the work done was well within a reasonable time frame and price. We dropped it off right when they opened (10:00am) and we had an appointment that we made back in October so perhaps that helped with the turn around. It took approx 1 hour and that included a diagnostics of the device post the battery replacement. Considering the tedious nature of the work, very reasonable as to time frame. The staff was professional, and had a straight forward, get to work mindset, so if you are expecting a lot of chit chat, go to Best Buy, as this is the place to get service done, and I like that, it shows focus. As first time customers they gave us a 10% discount which was nice to get right before Christmas. The location is easy to find, easy to get to and within easy driving distance from so many areas along the Hwy 19 and East Lake Road area. Parking is a bit odd for the shopping plaza but not a problem. Why did we choose this place? Simple, they have integrity and honor which is rare to find. Let me explain. We used Yelp to request repair prices back in October and immediately received numerous estimates from this and similar area businesses. This was the ONLY place that advised us that Apple had this battery problem as a known issue and that we should contact Apple first to see if they would repair it as part of the factory defect issue as opposed to spending money with a third party repair shop. Needless to say, Apple did not show our device as qualifying for free repair ( not surprised ) but did offer to fix it for a fee. So, rather then have it repaired by Apple (I do not trust them) or by one of the other shops that estimated at lower cost we came here because of how they treated us at the start. They were interested in our well being first and that says volumes. read more

This is the second trip to Experimax Clearwater for an Apple iMac that is less than 10 years old. The first trip was to have the screen replaced. Excellent service. [January 21, 2020] The second was to upgrade the hard drive to a 1TB SSD. The procedure was a success. [November 15, 2021] Now I have two computers that are running like new. Thank you Experimax. I have been to this shop many times in the past without a problem. But this last time I had a pretty bad experience. There were two workers just sitting in the back (because it wasn't it was 5 minutes before their shift technically started). Meanwhile there were 4 customers in the store that needed help. when they did come out, one of them completely and intentionally walked right by me to help another lady instead when i was there first. He did that intentionally because he didnt want to help me because I got frustrated the day before with some big problems I was having with my devices. So he didnt want anything to do with me was how I felt. Very unprofessional and VERY IMMATURE. He cared more about how I made him feel instead of helping me with my legitimate frustrations. So the third employee who was there then started talking to me about my problems and again brushed me aside, told me to call or go to an Apple store for help that he can't help me. But there again I could just tell that it wasnt that he couldnt help me, it was that he just didn't want to deal with it or with me. And I was nothing but nice, polite, and professional. Maybe just a little frustrated, but taking into consideration the nature of technology and how difficult it can be for customers, they need to understand that and where the customer is coming from. So, I did what he suggested...when I left there I drove all the way to the Apple store a fairly far distance away. And let me tell you they helped me enormously. They were available quickly, they listened, they understood how I was feeling, and they fixed my issues pronto. And I want those employees at Experimac that day to know that while I was at Apple I told them the experience that I just had at experimac. I also spoke to a manager about it. Not only did they tell me that the way I was treated was completely unacceptable, but they told me that yes you should have known and do know how to help with what I needed. So they agreed that it wasn't that you didnt know how, but you just didnt want to deal with it or with me, whatever the truth may be. So management knows. And you know what, even if it was a case that you truly couldnt help me with..fine. But it was the way I was treated by you that will now make me think long and hard about coming back there and to go elsewhere. I was nothing but nice, you guys treated me horribly. discovered Experimax Clearwater when my former laptop needed some minor repairs. the repairs were done well, quickly and mostly without charge. then i spilled a cup of coffee on that laptop and there was no fix. was able to purchase a used (but looked new) laptop from them (Jan. 22). have been back for clean-up help caused by my electronic ignorance two times. ...no charge. am taking some ongoing basic computer lessons taught by Darrin. today was my first lesson. he is patient, able to explain electronics well and in layman's terms to me and i am looking forward to the next lesson. Sadly there is no Genius Bar in CW. You gotta drive all the way to Tampa for that. But once I found Experimax I actually stopped missing the Genius Bar. These can fix anything that CAN be fixed. They also are a reseller so you can get good deals on refurbished Apple products. They can fix your phones and apply those thin glass protectors that I find really hard to apply. Went in for a replacement of the back glass on my iPhone pro when I received the phone back new problems emerged, battery capacity (in battery setting) went from 92 to 80% then my phone volume became to bug out and not play as loud. When returning the phone to check on the problems they claim it was not their fault even though these problems were not present before I went in for repair read more

Brought phone in for screen replacement , had it back with "finger ID can't be activated" aka the sensor is broken My phone got in water like almost 1 and half ago, went through 2 different screen placements , the home button sensor had been working perfectly through each repair until After they did the screen replacement . they had indicated on the receipt that water test failed , the button sensor worked to begin with. First time I came picked it up, turned it on and saw message "Finger ID can't be activated" , brought it back , they fixed it right away , it worked then stopped like 5 mins later , brought it back ; the owner after "examining " the phone , came out with pics showed inside the phone , he fixed it and took off metal panel that hold the plug inside . After 1 day, the screen turned dark . Brought it back , he said b/c he left out the metal part , this cause the screen went dark. But if he put the metal back on , the home button sensor wont work . He finally did a favor by sending my phone to their lab for "water cleaning up " and repaired and it will be ready to be picked up in 2 days . Came back after 2 days , found out they did nothing but took more microscopic pics to show how they had nothing to do with the sensor not working . Basically , the damage is already there ( but couldn't explain how it worked perfectly ) , it was not their fault even though they physically removed it and put it back on . Oh, and he said they will not service my phone any more , since they did replace the screen couple times while trying to fix the problem but I can tell they used the same one by unattached spot on the top right corner b/t the protected glass and the screen. After 4 times driving back and forth , couple arguments , I gave up , took my phone back and left . read more

I saw a Groupon for SE screen replacement for $45. I called and double checked that is was valid for the SE 2020 model. They said yes. I went ahead and purchased the Groupon. I called back an made an appt. I went to drop it off today and told the lady that I had a Groupon. She said the Groupon that I purchased was for the iPhone 5,5s and older SE. that is exactly why I called to double check because I know their is more than one SE model. They offered to do it for $80.
