I ordered a washing machine pedestal online and had it shipped to the store in Brandon. I made the hour round trip drive to pick it up. The associate loaded the pedestal into the back of my vehicle. I drove home and went to remove it from the back of my truck and noticed it had another person's name listed as the "pick up person". I then looked further and saw it was a GE and not the LG that I ordered, and the order number did not match. They gave me someone else's order. I then called their store number and was routed to customer service in India, who was absolutely pathetic in the level of service provided. They could not confirm if my order was still in the store. They could not contact the store to ask. They could not ship the product I paid for a week ago to my house and pick up the incorrect one they gave me. I picked up two Logitech Master 3 mice that were placed together with a single price tag. There were no individual price tags on the items. However, when I got to the counter, I was charged a higher price than what was clearly posted on the shelf. The explanation I received was that the price difference was due to the color of the item, even though both were in the same slot. Set up appointment and prepaid for installation of a new aftermarket radio I purchased elsewhere and was told by rep that rung me up they could install radio and back up camera. Had to wait a week for the appointment and when I arrived at Best Buy (Brandon Location) I was told they "would not" install the radio and back up camera that I had prepaid $308.00 to have installed. I was told by female rep at Best Buy installation that they would not install due to some people complaining they had some issues that would not work after the installation. She really did not offer any solution and stated they could give me refund. After taking my money up front and informing me they could install the aftermarket stereo/radio this is unacceptable to me and I will not shop at Best Buy ever again . Very poor service to me!! Pt .2 The store was quite disappointing. There was dust everywhere, and the TVs and monitors were covered in fingerprints and dirt. Some of the displays were even broken. In the computer section, a group of young employees was being loud and unprofessional, with one of them dropping to her knees and making inappropriate noises. Despite my spending some time looking at various items, none of the employees approached me to offer assistance. It seems that the younger employees at Best Buy are more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers.The woman who was behaving inappropriately was white, with dirty blonde or brown hair and clips in her hair. I have always liked Best Buy, and have been to this location a few times, but not recently, as I also do a lot of online ordering, but this was a refreshing visit to the store. It was actually very nice to be able to talk to others about specific details on certain products and to see and touch those items in my hands. The several employees I talked with were all knowledgeable and helpful in their departments. I was there this visit with my brother getting him the galaxy S8+ phone, and their mobile phone team was able to activate it quickly while the Samsung rep transferred all his data via cable cord to his new phone. While there I was also researching the new Microsoft Surface Books, as I am not an Apple guy, haha. And Keith was very knowledgeable about Microsoft products. I was also able to tinker with other high tech gadgets such as the smart watches and 360 degree cameras and big screen TV's. This is a place where I could easily spend an exuberant amount of time and money on big boy toys, lol. read more

Yet another instance of Best Buy false advertising. Purchased a laptop online. Get to this store and it was marked cheaper on the box because the power cord was missing. When I go to pay the register increases the price over what was listed on the product. The price that would INCLUDE the power cord. The manager even expressed frustration with the price being wrong and he was unable to change it. Offered to sell me a discounted power cord but wanted me to pay full price for the laptop. Went back on another day and the laptop is still marked up in price and still missing a power cord. Worst experience I've ever had. Wewnt in to doa return that was a gift, we requested the return on a giftcard. The cashier put it back to a credit card that wasn't ours. When we explained to the manager Kat, she was rude and told us there was nothing she could do about it because the post void can only be done for 10 minutes. The guy was very nice and friendly took his time out from the rush of other customers there buying computers or accessories. I also went over to the phone section to get another Zagg Invisible Glass screen protector for my iPhone 6 plus 64 gigabyte phone. The employees who was working there helped each other out with my question when I was trying to find a screen protector for my Motorola XPR 7550 digital handheld radio that I use. In less than three minutes the lady phone sales representative had the screen protector on my iPhone 6 plus on in no time what's so ever. I am happy with my purchases here! read more

My usual reason for going to Best Buy is to get something computer related, software or hardware. Since the close of Tiger and Circuit City, there really aren't many other options in the Brandon area, so I end up ordering a lot of components (I build gaming computers for folks sometimes) from Amazon, Newegg, CDW, B&H, or Tigerdirect. (Here's a hint. If you are in the market for an expensive Nvidia G-Synch graphics card, buy it directly from Nvidia. The other outlets tack on a couple extra hundreds of dollars). The Brandon Best Buy is often very crowded, and after you navigate the traffic in the Regency Mall, then you have to deal with the Best Buy parking lot. Not too bad off hours, but weekends and early evenings can be a real pain. The store itself is laid out a bit weird. Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble finding where the section is for things that I want. If it's something I need then and can't wait for next day or two day delivery, there aren't really any other options. If you are buying some software or a peripheral (like a printer) you can sometimes get a reasonable price at Office Depot, and Best Buy will usually match prices if you can show them an ad or even just a website printout from even Amazon. I've learned to be careful in checking the return policy here, as you can get stuck with a restocking fee for some returns. Also, be careful with the extended warranty that they try to sell you at the register. If you are buying an expensive laptop, it is probably worth it, but for most other products it's not. I've rambled and gone off on tangents here, but the bottom line is that I only go to Best Buy if it is something I have to have right then and there. Probably 80% of my technology purchases are using my Amazon Prime membership, computer components being the exception as I mentioned in the first paragraph. I ordered $2,500 worth of computer and software components for in store pick up on Veterans Day, as my father served in 2 wars and wanted to get him something special. 4.5 hours into my 1 hour pick up window l, was called up to retrieve my computer and was informed that someone else had picked it up in my place. I requested a full refund, I was told an investigation had to be conducted before this could occur. This investigation could go on for a few days to a few weeks. This forced me to call my credit card company and cancel my card as I had no idea how much of my personal information had been compromised. I then called corporate who told me they could not even contact the store directy. Long story short, this is why these big box stores are going away. Lesson learned, I will never use Best Buy again as they are obviously on the verge of chapter 11 and will go away in the next couple of years and that Amazon is the replacement for this type of service. Probably worker fraud based on the pick up name has to be verified, which was obviously circumvented by a register worker. read more

I actually have good things to say about this location. It is EXTREMELY busy first of all so prepare to have to wait Alittle. Have patience, It's the only Best Buy in a very highly populated city. I feel the associates and managers do a good job of trying to handle everyone and their demands, they definitely have their hands full. I purchased a defective TV a few months ago and didn't take out the protection plan when I got it (that was a mistake), even thought I didn't do that the manager MATT still made an exception and took the TV back (Even after the return window) &gave me a store credit. On 4/15/20, I went to Best Buy Brandon Florida to pick up an order that I placed the night before. Due to COVID-19 Best Buy is serving customers by having them park in designated areas of the parking lot where the employees will come out to your car to assist you. The Best Buy aforementioned closes at 6:00pm. I arrived at 5:40pm. When I did I followed the instructions on where to park. After parking I logged into my Best Buy account. I selected the option to let the store know I was in the parking lot to pick up my order. I also let the store know of the details of what vehicle I was in and where I was parked. I then received a confirmation code with information to provide the Best Buy rep when they get to my car. After waiting in my car in the parking lot for close to 15 minutes I observed approximately 4 people who had been waiting to be assisted longer then me got out of their cars and gathered at the front door that was now locked. At this point the store should still be open due to the time being 5:52pm. These people where trying to get the attention of store employees. I then tried calling into the store and at that point the phone just kept ringing with no one answering. Right at 6:00pm, I then observed the Sheriff's Dept. arriving to first meet with someone inside Best Buy. The officer then came out and said the store decided to close early. I'm going to make mention to the fact that after checking in, Best Buy has my phone number and e-mail address. NO ONE from Best Buy ever reached out to me to let me know they were closed early or to apologize or explain any situation going on. Evidently, Best Buy employees the most moronic, non-customer service minded people known to mankind. And I'm being extremely nice with saying that. The real words I want to use will not be allowed on this site! I will also say whoever is in charge of this store should be and hopefully will be fired along with whoever made the decision to close early. From now on I will no longer do business with Best Buy. I wanted to get this as far as I could. I purchased a refrigerator from Brandon Best Buy last weekend. They confirmed it worked perfectly and I even purchased the extended warranty. They delivered it a few days later but not without damaging my walls and it was plugged in. I am aware that it takes 24-48 hours for it to reach the correct temperatures but it has been 4 days now and it's clearly defective. I called them and after the little girl said she would call me back, I had to call her back because it had been 2 hours already. She laughed and said the techs put her on hold. For 2 hours? Anyway, it is now Saturday and even though a tech was scheduled to come out today, I got a phone call saying he was sick and it will need to be rescheduled. My food has good bad now and even the store manager didn't care to do anything. I like Best Buy. I think they have a good inventory of quality products. The prices are a little high on some things, but occasionally, they have super good deals. I would recommend comparing prices online with your phone before purchasing. They do have a price match guarantee, where they match the product prices of "key online" and local competitors. What does that mean? There's a lengthy explanation on their website. The customer service seems a little unmotivated in my few trips to this location. That definitely brings them down a star. Most Best Buy stores I've been to have excellent customer service. I'm not sure what the problem is here. No matter, in six to twelve months, there will be a whole store full of bright, new faces. I came here looking for a new laptop. My old laptop had some issues with the screen and I had a few days to research what I wanted online. I found a model that had all of my needs and more and was advertised for a great price at Best Buy. I contemplated ordering online and getting it shipped to my house for free, but decided I'd just go in and get it in person so I didn't have to wait. I went in on a Friday evening around 630pm and when I got to the computer area there were probably four employees working the area conversing with each other. I was one of two customers in that section and not once did anyone ask if I needed any help or assistance. They just continued to keep talking amongst themselves. I walked around and found the model I wanted and started playing around with the laptop I was going to purchase. I waited no less than 15 minutes before I became impatient and asked another young lady who came into that department if she would mind assisting me as it seemed no one in that department was interested in helping. She gladly did and answered all of the questions I had about the model I ended up purchasing. If it had not been for her, I was ready to leave without giving this place a dime and taking my business elsewhere. It is painstakingly obvious why Best Buy is struggling against its competitors if that is the type of customer service they offer. read more

Also no matter what if I am looking for something I cannot find they will bend over backwards in attempting to help me find what I am looking for or give me an intelligent explanation why its not available. Also their price matching is top notch as well. Their customer service department is a little overwhelmed at times, but what retailer isn't? The reason I do not give this location 5 stars is the traffic in and out is problematic at times and impossible at worst.
