I highly recommend Apple & Mac Solutions. I wish I'd come to them sooner and saved myself years of suffering through the frustration and low-productivity of my mystery iMac problems! About My Computer Problem: My 2013 iMac started slowing down and getting buggy within a few short years. So I bought a new 2017 iMac in hopes of a fresh start. But the new iMac pretty much immediately showed the same issues. Apple's Genius bar claimed the computer was fine--it must be a corrupt file or app causing the problem. After wiping my drive and one-by-one painstakingly porting over files and reinstalling fresh apps over the course of weeks, I was unable to locate any buggy software. I then hired an independent computer tech. He also couldn't find the problem and suspected a buggy file. I felt pretty hopeless and just tolerated my horrible computer for another year until deciding to try another computer tech. Apple & Mac Solutions Saves the Day! When Manu quickly pegged my problem as a failing hard drive, I was skeptical (the problem seemed to transfer from my 2013 to 2017 iMac, and 2 techs has said the HD was fine). Manu took the time to explain and show me why he came to this conclusion, and proposed a simple solution of replacing Apple's cheap spinning HD with a solid-state HD. A few days later, I brought my new baby home and the change is night and day. My iMac is now lightening fast and totally reliable. My productivity has increased tremendously, as has the overall quality of my life! Manu and his assistant are both warm, professional, and seem to really know their stuff. The track pad was so messed up and sensitive before I bought my computer in, now it's working as normal again and a battery that now holds a charge. Great turn around and very fair prices. My MacBook Pro wouldn't open. The opening bar would freeze at a certain point. The Apple rep at the "Genius Bar" ran diagnostics. After a half-hour, he couldn't determine if it was an issue with the logic board or hard-drive. They gave me no answers. So, I took my laptop to Apple & Mac Solutions. They are the best. What makes them better is consistent listening, learning, and understanding -- both about computers generally and about your specific situation. I make a living using a computer, and these are the people i go to for upgrades, diagnosis and tricky problems. One of them was my technician for years when he worked across town at another shop. After he left that shop, a newer technician made a serious error with a computer of mine, completely erasing all data on my main hard drive. It was a rookie mistake that I don't believe Rory would have made, and i was glad to finally find him working here. I do a lot of my own repairs, but when i'm out of my league, this is where I go. I was greeted politely and helped promptly. After I finished my grocery shopping I went to pick my phone up (approximately 45mins later) and it was ready. I stopped by 2 weeks ago after my dad's 2011 MacBook Pro screen stopped working and displayed a blank gray screen after many failed attempts of restarting the laptop. After seeing all the positive reviews of Manu, Rory, and this business on Yelp, I figured I'd stop by to see if they could diagnose the computer. Sure enough, Rory figured out exactly what was wrong with the laptop 2 minutes after I entered the shop and told me exactly how they would fix it! I was told how much the cost of labor would be and how it'd take at least 1 week for the GPU to be replaced. But 4 days later, Manu called me and told me it was ready for pickup. Not only did he fix the GPU, he also upgraded the laptop's RAM as well since he noticed the laptop was running extremely slow. And WOW, what a HUGE difference now!! Not only does the screen work again, but a somewhat ancient 2011 MacBook runs as if it were completely new! Thank you, Manu and Rory, for your awesome service and doing what you do!! I called them today to ask about replacing the display screen on my MacAir Laptop. The gave me the prices plus labor. MANU asked some details about the age of the Laptop and how the "problem" may have started. I bought the refurbished 2015 Mac Air from GroupOn last December. It was working great till I accidentally closed the lid on the charger cord. This created a white vertical strip across the left part of the screen with a blue blob wave like shape.. I had purchased a warranty with it. For the last two weeks I've been trying to redeem the warranty but without success. MANU kindly offered to look up the serial number for me. Then he suggested buying an external monitor to enable me to view the entire screen. Wow!! Ding! Ding! $100 or so for an external monitor (he suggested buying it from Best Buy) instead of hundreds more to replace the screen! Thank you so much MANU for your kind advice! I had an issue with logging into my Mac Book pro 2013 late model. I installed Big Sur. I ended up trying to troubleshoot myself which has worked majority of the time, but this time I couldn't do it myself. Something may have corrupted the install process. I checked Yelp to see where there is a reputable Apple repair shop and came across Apple & Mac Solutions. Luckily, I was off work on a Tuesday and went to make my visit when they opened. First off, I found parking right away in front of the business. They also offer parking in the lot next to the building. There were two people ahead of me with one person assisting. I didn't wait long and the person assisting who is Michael, was very patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. Once he attended to me, I explained my situation and he tried to reset my password, but since my hard drive was encrypted, he said I should wipe the HD, reinstall the OS, and start all over. Some people would cry over those words, but luckily I do not keep alot of important files on my laptop and use an external HD majority of the time. I DJ on the side so I own two laptops and use the other as a backup. I was dreading that my HD was shot and I needed to purchase a new one, but that wasn't the case. I left my laptop and they contacted me the same day. When I went to pick up my laptop, I was helped by the owner Manu. He was also helpful and patient. My laptop was back to running again. My MAC is absolute for apple to repair it and its battery was dead, I call different places and they told me it wasn't a chance for me to get it fix, that I should buy a new one, but my mac is amazing, so I decided to bring it to apple & mac solutions, they fixed for half the price other places were going to charge me and I love it. My phone started acting weird the other day, and then lost the ability to register my touch on the screen. Everything else seemed to be working--calls and texts coming in, etc. but I couldn't access them because I couldn't even type in my pass code. When I called a different repair shop (which will go unnamed,) to ask if I could get help with this problem, the guy who answered said that I had destroyed my phone and it couldn't be fixed. It was too old anyway and I should get a new phone - period. Thankfully, a friend suggested I try Apple MAC solutions. I've had good experiences with them for my laptop, but I didn't know they worked on iphones as well. I called and they were encouraging and friendly. I immediately took my phone to them and within less than a minute they had fixed it. All it needed was a hard reset, which I had forgotten how to do. It was simply a software problem, and it's working fine now. They didn't even charge me for the help. I'm glad to know that I can trust Apple Mac Solutions for both computer and phone repair. This is the place to go for data retrieval!!!! OMG. I can't say enough. I FRIED my Macbook laptop by spilling a gigantic thermos of scalding hot tea all over it (and on the port area while plugged in) and it died a sudden death, and nothing could revive it. And, wise person that I am, I hadn't backed up my data for about THREE YEARS ( I know, I know....). It couldn't be powered on, because the inside of the computer was "severely damaged," and it was the type of computer where the data was melded onto the hard drive. I work at a college (hard to believe, I know), and they took it apart and told me that it was "virtually impossible" to get my data off the very much beyond dead hardrive. We sent it to Apple and they said they could not fix it. I had two very large data retrieval companies look at it, and they quoted me 2.6k and 1.9k. Both said it would take 4-6 weeks to get my data, because it was such a complicated case, and that I was lucky they could do it at all. And so, defeated and demoralized, but giving it one last shot, I called this place. They were so friendly, professional, and reassuring. They were confident they'd get my data back pronto, and well below my max price (I could not pay more than 1k). I couldn't believe it. But it was true! I brought it in, and the wonderfully professional and intelligent and awesome Michael helped me, asking me questions to know what happened and being very reassuring. THREE DAYS LATER (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the wonderful Manu called me and told me that everything was saved, every single solitary thing, including my zillions of bookmarks (I'm a teacher, hard to believe I know, and I've spent countless hours finding the perfect videos to go with my classes) and the whole thing cost........ $650!!!!! For an extra few hundred, the entire computer could have been repaired (I had gotten a new one through my college). $650!!!???? So, the moral of the story is that this is the place to go.
