Where do I even start with this salon!? First, it's so clean, modern, and pretty inside. The salon is big but it's almost always full but you never feels crowded or rushed (definitely recommend making an appointment, although walk-ins are welcome), because they have excellent customer service. I have been going here for awhile now and I will remain a loyal customer. They are polite, welcoming, helpful and do such an amazing job! Two friends and I just returned from Apollo Nails, and we are all extremely satisfied with the results. I will return. We found everyone who worked at the salon to be friendly and welcoming, and Ivy who worked on my toes, was excellent at massaging my feet--it was wonderful! This was a horrible experience for a bridal party (including me, who up to this point have been a loyal customer). Took a HUGE deposit then didn't honor the appts. when bride and some of her party (including mom and aunt) arrived late after calling to apprise that they would be late. We booked two hours and they cut off appts. after one hour and would NOT refund deposit. Lost one customer and many other potentials. Shame on them!! read more

Great attention to detail and quick service. You can usually get in with a moments notice unless it's Saturday morning. The best part and key factor for me is that they keep the chemical smells to a minimum unlike the Pro Nails chain that is all over this city. PATRONIZE AT YOUR OWN RISK. The State of Washington has very strict rules about sanitation and sterilization in salons. (See WAC 308-20-110.) In 2018, I complained to the manager about nail technicians using their thumbnails as pedicure tools. Thumbnails are obviously not sterile and do not even remotely come into compliance with the legal regulations. (Note: even if the technician used Purell on her thumbnail in between clients, that would not eliminate MRSA, staph, C. difficile, e.coli, or salmonella, to name a few.) After I contacted the manager, she said she would address it. I went back today because I needed a last minute appointment, and they had availability. To be on the safe side, I specifically asked the person at the desk to tell the nail technician assigned to me that she should not use her thumbnail. Then, sure enough, as soon as the technician started applying polish on me, she used her thumbnail. I told her to stop, and she managed to get through the rest of the service using what appeared to be sterilized implements. What was most disturbing is that I proceeded to watch the three other nail technicians within my line of sight and saw all three of them use their thumbnails. So that's four out of four, which tells me this is STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE, which is completely disgusting. I am in the process of making a complaint to the State. read more

Lovely salon in Queen Anne! 4 stars for awesome atmosphere, accommodating appointment booking and great service. My toes and nails look good and everything was really clean and relaxing. Went with a friend and they fit us both in for shellac manis/pedis. My manicurist patiently answered all questions and put up with my asking "is this going to turn opaque?" like 3 times. The ambiance seemed nice and almost elegant, with furniture chosen to look pretty rather than comfortable (i.e., the tall manicure chairs). Scheduling/front desk interaction was relatively smooth though somewhat disorganized when I arrived. However, my experience with the manicure was not as swell. The prepping of my hands was hurried and sloppy, the surrounding skin around my index finger was cut, and the paint job was uneven (coats only partially applied, with rugged edges). The woman doing my manicure clearly did not want to be working there, and did not bother to introduce herself by name or engage in common courtesy. On my way out, I turned to the owner for a brief conversation about the new place and my impressions, but was met with the same lack of interest. Update: I am still a client, as the owners took steps to improve the quality of service and actually fired the technician in question. Encouraging and worth a second chance! read more

I love that this place is both in Seattle and asks reasonable prices. I don't need to drop $100 or more to feel like I went to a spa. Here I can get great nails for about $50. The cool part is that they will do you nails both mani and pedi, at the same time! So it's fast too. I usually schedule an appointment to make sure they can fit me in, but they do take walk-ins too. They can get quite busy so try to limit walk-ins to outside of peak hours. The salon is well appointed and the staff is friendly. read more

I came here with 6 friends to start off my bachelor party. Apollo Nails allowed us to schedule a group party and even had mimosas and treats waiting for us when we arrive! (You have to bring a banquet permit for this.) We were able to all sit next to each other and visit and the quality of my pedicure and shellac manicure were great. First of all, this is the first negative review I have ever written. While I think the quality of the pedicures are good here, the customer service leaves a great deal lacking. My husband scheduled an appointment as a surprise for me and a friend, but when we arrived they informed us the pedicure appointments were actually the day before. In addition, they had someone else's phone number attached to our appointment, so they couldn't call when we didn't show. When I explained my husband booked the appointments for us, they blamed him and said he must have told us the wrong day, so too bad, they didn't have time for us today. No, sorry. He doesn't make mistakes like that. They couldn't get us in for pedis but offered to fit us in for quick mani, but acted like it was a HUGE inconvenience. Rather than do that, we left to get pedis elsewhere. Come to find out later, my husband had booked manis AND pedis for us, and all Apollo ever had on file was pedicures. I really wanted to like this place, but was so disappointed with the level of effort they have made to take care of their customers. read more

Have been at least 12 times to the Queen Anne Apollo Spa and until three visits ago I was convinced that I had found the perfect spot for manicure-pedicure: excellent location, very clean salon and good, competent mani-pedi ladies. The last three visits I have seen an appalling decline in service. Mixed-up appointments, the regular mani-pedi massage I so enjoyed reduced to a few cursory, hurried superficial strokes, the three different ladies I got could not communicate with or understand directions and the last lady that did my nails two days ago, instead of using the brush or q-tip with the acetone to clean around the residue of nail polish around the nails, she used her own nails to scrape it off. I objected but she could not understand a word of what I was saying. Guess I have to look for another place :-( read more

Took my wife to Apollo Nails and Spa over the weekend. Her technician did a great job and my wife was very pleased. Only negative, as others have pointed out, is the girls at the front desk lacked customer service skills. This is a big pet peeve of mine. Let's face it, the nail industry is very competitive. When we checked in, it would have been nice to receive a friendly greeting. Nope, it was "ok, go over and pick out your nail color and the tech will be with you soon." Hers got started while I just sat there then she went over for mani, we were each alone. I had to go back an hour later because she missed part of my nails. She did nothing for my rough heels. Went in for an impromptu mani-pedi after a long week's work. Friendly staff were very welcoming and prompt about getting me into a chair to get my nails done. The lady who did my nails was very professional and fun to converse with. The location was great, and the place in general was very clean, which is super important to me! One can contract hepatitis C or any other viruses/bacteria from shared nail tools! I had a great overall experience here and I would highly recommend both men and women to try out Apollo. Originally my appointment was for a facial. That was actually fine. Holly was very nice, gentle and thorough. She frequently checked in to see if I was comfortable, warm enough, etc. I'd go see her again if she worked somewhere else. However, I'll never go back to Apollo & am giving the one star rating is based on the pedicure and customer service follow-up experience I had there. It was the single worst pedicure I've ever had, and they charge more than any other place in the neighborhood because it is supposedly a "spa" pedicure. My toe nails are uneven, some the corners are cut way below the cuticle which is a great way to get ingrown toenails, and others are still rough. I wasn't getting polish just a buffing, but the buff consisted of two swipes, tops, so they aren't shiny. The whole process lasted 30 minutes, and did not included the advertised mask. I didn't take a good look at my toes until later that night, when I got home. (They were closed by then.) I called the next day, explained why I wasn't happy with the service and asked to have the pedicure fixed. The response was "they can't give away services for free" but if I wanted come in to get the pedicure fixed , they'd take 30% off. No thanks, if I'm going to have to pay to get them fixed, I will going for a far better job at Pro Nails on QA or Mayano Nails downtown. PS I wouldn't say it is *super* clean as some other reviewers stated. The floor in the bathroom was sticky, and two of the light bulbs were out, so it was pretty dim and hard to see. read more

I went to this salon for the first time last week because it's close to where I live and I wanted a good gel mani/pedi that I didn't have to do myself. I will likely not return. Pros: nice decor, wide variety of services, CND colors Cons: service itself My gel mani is worse than the pedi. I had two women work on me and they definitely had different strengths and weaknesses. The woman who did my pedi was friendlier and did a decent paint job. The woman who did my mani was much less friendly and did a poor job on my nails. I've had several gel mani/pedis and have done my own many times. I know the fundamentals of the process and how to get an excellent result. My main complaints with the woman who did my mani are as follows: -Poor nail shaping. I came in with my nails already shaped--I prefer rounded square to squoval with a rounded cuticle. She severely rounded them and clipped a lot of the edges. Hello, that can cause ingrown nails! And one of my nails ended up in this funky slanted shape that I immediately went home and clipped. -She also did a poor job with painting my nails. She allowed the product to pool at the base of my cuticles, and anyone with the smallest knowledge of gels knows you CANNOT allow it to cure touching your cuticles. The result is invariably peeling, reducing the life from weeks to days. It also looks really sloppy. All but one of my nails has this result. -Subpar cuticle care. The water my hands were "soaked" in was lukewarm to start and rapidly cooled. The whole point is to use warm water to soften the cuticles. Mine now look pretty butchered, no doubt in part to her cutting of them. -Her one high point was the hand massage. It was better than the foot/leg massage, but not by much. I think all of these women (manicurists as a whole) should take classes in how to give a proper massage. It's only a few minutes but it can mean a world of difference to the client. The girl who did my pedi was very nice and her painting and clipping were much more competent. I say her massage was subpar because I don't care for having my shin bones banged on, nor do I want someone /digging/ into the very core of my arch. I was also a little frustrated that she wasn't more careful with my jeans and being sure not to get oil or whatever other product on them while they were rolled up. I gave some of this feedback to the receptionist. She explained that if I experienced any peeling I should return to have them fix it. While this place is close to where I live, my feeling is that it's not worth it when I've already had a bad job. Another mark against this place is the customer service. I overheard a woman who came in late to her appointment speak with the receptionist. She was informed that because she was over 15 minutes late they gave the slot away. The woman said she called--even pulled out her phone to show the number dialed and the time--and left a message. The receptionist's demeanor was a tiny bit of a "Tough cookies" attitude and that's off putting. Say you're sorry for the miscommunication and try to find a solution! Do you care about your customers or are you really telling them it's just too damn bad they missed it and see ya later? She called and left a message but your phone didn't ring? You have /got/ to fix this, even if it's just to say your policy is to speak with someone regarding the appointment instead of leaving a message. Instead of visiting this place, you might as well go buy the Red Carpet Manicure and learn to do gels yourself. It's a painstaking process but they're your nails and no one will care more about them than you do. I'm removing the gel on my nails tonight and painting them myself because they already look horribly torn up from peeling. read more

Incredibly pretentious. Tried to do a walk in for a basic manicure there was nothings available but they had an appointment available a half hour later. Totally fine, I'll just get a coffee or something. Come back 5 minutes early and had to wait an additional 20 minutes before I finally went up and asked what was taking so long, seeing as though clearly other people who had came in after me were seated right away. Finally about 5 minutes after I checked with the front desk I was guided to a pedicure chair to sit and have my manicure there. Not the worst thing in the world I suppose but after having to wait that long I was going to be late for a meeting and I just couldn't put up with the service there anymore so I walked out. I never walk out, I work in the service industry and I'm usually very tolerant but after wasting nearly an hour of my day waiting to get am over priced manicure I'd had it. The location is great and the spa is beautiful. I thought i had found my perfect nail space. The pedicure was nice, nothing special.There was a good selection of nail polish. Their selection of Shellac is very poor, not a lot of options or variety in colors. I struggled to communicate with the woman doing my nails. She ended up turning my fingers into a mess. I've been in for pedicures 5 times since I moved to Queen Anne in April. I've settled on Tami, and she is super sweet and does a wonderful job! The problem I have it with the woman at the front desk. I make my next appt as I leave. Twice my appt time has been messed up. When I arrived at the scheduled time, there is no apology, absolutely no acknowledgement that they've made a mistake (the times they had me scheduled made no sense to MY schedule, so theres no way i would have made an appt at that time). I like the job Tami does well enough to stick it out, but from now on I will call on the day want an appt (and triple check before hanging up) rather than schedule it beforehand (which for me works better). read more

Finally - someone carries European wax so that I can get a Brazilian without crying. Not to mention a real facial. I had two different experiences with Apollo Nails and Spa both were horrific. Since I live in the area I decided to check them out based on reviews. The atmosphere was great, and I was super excited. However, when it came time to do my nails the manicurist cut my finger while cutting my cuticles (which should never happen.) It bled for the duration of the appointment. The manicurist was apologetic and tried to stop the blood with glue. For my second experience I needed to get nails done ASAP. I called the same day and asked the receptionist if they took off fake nails she replied with a yes and I made an appointment. When I got there a guy at the front said that they however DID NOT do fake nails. He pointed me down the road and I walked through pouring rain to another salon that was farther than expected. Luckily they were accommodating and took my appointment. I have been very disappointed with Apollo Nails thus far. read more
