Nope. It was my first time there today. I got in more than an hour before closing and I was the only one but the woman seemed to be in a rush. I wanted a gel tip, showed a photo of what I want (2-color tip) and she confidently said she could do it. She was nice and all but my nails were done quickly and the lines are not straight and not even. My nails are sticking to my fingers all around the edges and I had to file them at home because they were catching on my clothing. I'm not happy with the money I paid. It would have been better if she said she couldn't do it or that she didn't have time. read more

These guys just jumped to #1 in my book. I came here bc it's so close to home, but also bc the last salon I went to hasn't been quality work. The last time I went in for a fill, they didn't file down my other hand. I'm not one for confrontation, so I figured it'd be fine for a couple weeks to give me time to find a new place. I dealt with both owners, and they were amazing! They're good at managing their time. Filing my nails took a loooong time, since the other salon made them REALLY thick (I work with animals, so I like them a little on the thicker side, but not THAT thick). Pricing - higher than what I'm used to, but you get what you pay for. $40 for a whole new set. I'll be back in a couple weeks! read more

OMG! I think I'm in love with this place. Here is an enumerated list of why I love it so much: 1) Prices - this is a ridiculously reasonably priced place. I got a pedicure with french tip style polish. Total cost (before tip)? $23! 2) Service - nothing short of fabulous. My "wait" for a foot bath to get turned on while everybody in the shop was helping other customers was a mere 2 minutes. I got a nice, long foot soak and then a wonderful pedicure. The lady next to me was getting a mani/pedi and they were doing some of the boring mani nail prep on her while she was getting pedi. I love the multitasking. The pedi itself for me was great. I have no complaints about it. 3) Miscellaneous bonus points - They made *sure* my toes were dry before I left. After being there for about an hour I was getting a little restless and wanted to get on with running my errands. I went to put back on my socks (I wasn't planning on getting a pedi but couldn't resist since it was my birthday weekend), but the man stopped me and a nice lady gave me some of those cheap flip flops. Yup, for $23 my pedi included the neon, paper thin flip flops. I was impressed. Also, bonus points for nice conversation, great attention to detail, and general friendliness. 4) The BEST part yet - quality. It is nearly two weeks later....what do my toes look like? Perfect! Okay, there is a piece of one toenail that I stepped on while in heels and chipped off, but the other stuff is great. No cracking, no peeling, nothing. I am convinced I could leave this on my toes until my nails grow out. I think this is the only place I will be getting my nails done in the future, even if it is on the other side of town! Part of me doesn't want to share my secret, but at the same time, I think I might have found one of the best nail places in Seattle! read more

I've gone here a few times out of convenience and last minute pedis I needed. They are nice, make sure your massage chair is always on while you're in the chair. If you have a go-to nail salon that does it right, but you couldn't get an appt... This would be plan b I suppose. I've just never been really impressed. The last time I left with a shoddy manicure and cuticles haphazardly scraped down. Not to mention a piece of lint hair that was embedded on my polish. You don't want to leave feeling like you could have done a better job.. Is all I'm sayin. If you're getting stuff done for a wedding or something serious I'd skip this place. read more

I came in mid-day Saturday and I was one of two customers - with room for 5. Price-wise it's reasonable. The salon employees were attentive and kind. At first I was put off by the guy's insistence that I explore all of the options my massage chair had to offer. He was picking the controller off my lap to fiddle with the buttons. Not that it was a super thrilling chair. The only settings were Knead and Pummel. After my toenails were done I felt more generous. He even checked in with me to ask if it was my first time, and if I was enjoying my visit. I'd definitely stop in again for a quick walk-in pedi. read more

My one and only go to nail salon. Tina is amazing at her craft , so is her husband Dat whenever he is helping his wife. The salon has top of the line spa chairs that massage you while getting your pedi. They always use a new plastic liner with each pedicure so you know you're getting a clean one. They are quick and do am outstanding job. So happy I found them. read more

My favorite nail place in Seattle -- totally unpretentious, always friendly, and super-efficient without ever feeling rushed. I've been going here for about six years now (love the recent redecoration!) and I am always pleased with my pedicure and with the cleanliness of the shop. (And the massage chairs. One does love a nice massage chair.) Best of all, they LISTEN. Don't want your cuticles cut this time? Not sure you chose correctly from the polish wall? Prefer your nails trimmed in the shape *you* like rather than whatever's fashionable just now? No problem at all. I wanted to try out Elite Nails since it is so close to where I live. I came to get a mani and pedi. When I arrived after work during a weekday, there was a middle-aged man and woman working, and 2 other customers in the salon. There was also boy who looked about 7 years old sitting at one of the nail tables doing his homework, who I assume was the owner's son. The man proceeded to set up my foot spa. The water was really hot, so they had to add more cold water to cool it down. Then when he looked at my feet, he commented that my nails were already painted. I was a little confused, since I already told them I was there for mani pedi. I asked him what he meant, and he replied that I have nice feet and legs. At that point I felt like the situation became awkward, so I decided to just try to avoid conversation with him so I could enjoy my mani pedi in peace. He did fine with the foot massage and pedi. Then he had me walk over to the nail table to do my nails. The salon was carpeted and my feet were still wet from the foot spa, so I thought it was gross to walk across their carpeted floor with my bare wet feet. Then for my mani, he got out the shellac UV lamp and told me to put my hands in to dry my nails in between polish layers, which I did not understand at all because I did not ask for shellac. I only wanted a regular mani and had picked out a regular polish. But I didn't want to argue so I just followed his instructions. He did a good job shaping and filing my nails and I liked the way my nails looked when he finished. He also gave me disposable sandals before I paid and left, which I wish he gave me earlier so I didn't have to walk across the carpet with wet feet. My mani lasted about 4 days before chipping, which is alright since it is just regular mani. It is unlikely I will ever come back here. I will stick with Night Light Nails in Wallingford. read more

Were able to make appointments quickly with absolutely no hassle! Anna did a fabulous job on my pedicure! A generous massage was part of the relaxing experience! They even let me and my sister-in-law lounge in the massage chairs for 25 minutes after they were done and finish our magazines! The gentleman and lady were very friendly and worked as a team. I came in for a pedicure and design on my big toe. The final product was very cute, but overall I was underwhelmed by the experience. The techs worked back and forth between myself and other customers which became annoying after a while. I didn't feel rushed perse, but it did feel a bit like being pushed through a conveyor belt. They took no time at all on the massage which was also a major bummer. Certainly not a disaster, but I won't be going back. read more

So now I've been there 3-4 times--I always enjoy the pedicure (although I've never gotten the man again, his leg massage is the best), but I notice the polish just doesn't last like other places I've gone. Once it started chipping after one week, and it's always chipping by 2 weeks. Every other place I've been, the polish hangs in there for 3-4 weeks. It looks like they thin their polish to stretch it; maybe that's why? read more

I did a walk-in and they were so nice. They helped me right away. They were already working on two people, so they just rotated between the three of us - they work really well together. I had them remove my old gel manicure and put on a new one. My old one started chipping after a week, and the color was blotchy, but the one I got here is still perfect after two weeks and the color is beautiful. They use high quality polishes, not the cheap junky stuff some other places use. The prices were super reasonable - it was $25 before tip for my first visit, to remove the old gels, but from now on he said it will be $20 since it's their own work now. Next time I'm going to get a pedicure, too. Four stars because she had to balance the nail dryer on the too-small table, and the nail dryer fell down once. They should get bigger tables. And there was a little cluttery junk behind the tables. But the quality of the manicure itself is five stars. read more

Love their new shop across the street from Greenwood Freddys! Very classy. I do agree with the one lady who isn't happy when they switch back and forth while helping you. I do not like that either. Nor if I have to wait my turn when I have an appointment time setup bc they took a walk in customer. :( But they are in the business to make $. Last week I was in dire need of a mani/pedi and couldn't score a last minute appt to Ballard Nail Salon. I looked to Yelp for some advice, read Allison's review and made an appt. As I was driving to the salon, I started to doubt myself. You see....I have outgrown the sketchy nail studios with plastic plants, neon signs, weird posters from the 80's and duct tape on their chairs.....I prefer the nicer salons, but I do love a good price (yes, you CAN get both.....if you look) So I got to Elite, parked my car, looked in and was freaked out. I did not go in, I did not call to cancel my appointment (my fault, my bad, I know!!!) All I know is that I didn't like what I saw, and I wasn't going to chance it. I called Ballard Nail Studio again just in case I could get something done, and they were able to squeeze me in.... After I was freshly polished I checked my voicemails and this is what I got from a 206 number: "Pick the f*** up. Don't ever come back here, please." I listened to it numerous times as the accent was so strong, and I thought for sure he wasn't swearing on my voicemail. But, alas......I believe he was. At LEAST he said please....but he shouldn't worry....I definitely will not be back as I prefer a salon that is clean.....and Elite Nails is not clean. read more

I've been coming here for over 10 years, and have never been disappointed. The owners, Dat and Tuan, are so sweet and attentive. And efficient! Dat can put on a set of acrylics in no-time flat, and he does them amazingly well. One thing I like about these folks over other places is that you can be "picky" and they accomodate no problem. Anyone who has had acrylics knows that everyone has their own preference for how they are done, and every tech has their own way of doing it--often without compromising to the customer's request. I like mine short, thin and with thin whites, and that is never a problem. THe full service pedicure is amazing--for a few bucks extra you can get hot stones, parafin, etc. Totally worth the splurge. The staff are always friendly, and even if there is a long wait it is always worth it. I just moved 20 minutes away, and will likely still call this place my go-to, even though it isn't convenient anymore. read more

Came in on a Saturday to get a full set and there were two people working and two customers so I didn't mind waiting. I was greeted and offered a seat at the nail station a few minutes in. At first the gentlemen, the owner I'm assuming, started on my nails and I told him what I wanted and he started the process by putting on the tips and then the women came over and added the acrylic, then he came back and added some, then she came back and shaped and painted them. This is a big pet peeve of mine, the rotating nail techs. It makes me feel rushed and not given the attention a paying customer deserves. The over all color and shape I give a 3, they pulled off the almond shape well which I know is hard for some salons. But they get 3 stars from me bc jump to a week out and almost all my nails are lifting, and the acrylic is now showing how sloppily it was put on and not shaped to match the natural shape of my nail bed. For paying $30, I'd hope and expect my nails to last longer than a week before lifting. I added a picture and won't be returning. read more
