My cousin and I came for a walk-in in early July. They were the only place in the area who could fit us in their schedule. I was getting a regular mani/pedi and my cousin was getting a pedicure only. I asked for no nail polish for the mani so I assumed we'd be there an hour at the most. Nini was my nail tech. The pedicure was decent. The manicure was terrible. She didn't remove all of my previous gel polish. Instead of using the nail drill, she filed off the polish manually (after soaking it with remover). I had to keep telling her there's leftover orange color. I asked for an oval/almond shape cut. She cut once in the middle, and not 3+ times like people usually do. It's hard to *only* file down the sides. Also, I had splits in both thumb nails. I've gotten these fixed with nail glue in other places, but here they did dip powder. I didn't think anything of it at first. And while I had told her no nail polish, she applied something on my nails. I assumed it was a strengthener but it made my nails textured. This girl had to be new because that bad mani job took ONE HOUR. The pedicure was only 30 min and that included a polish color. My cousin was waiting for me and wondering what was taking so long. The cashier looked young, probably in high school. He said my total had an extra $10 for added massage time. I said "They didn't ask me if I wanted a longer massage. Why would they charge me?" He wasn't sure, so one of the male employees (maybe the owner or manager) clarified with my tech and they were charging me the extra $10 for the dip powder they used on my thumbs to fix the nail split. I told him "She didn't ask if I wanted it fixed for an extra fee." I would've said yes if asked, but they need to be more up front about their prices. They ended up not charging me for fixing my nails because I stood my ground. Also, because my nails looked terrible. I didn't want any color on my nails so I can prep them for fake nails I'd be applying myself. I should've just asked them to remove the gel because I could do a better job cutting and shaping my own nails. I had to trim them down more when I got home. Here's the end result: Square-ish nails, leftover orange polish, and a weird bumpy texture on my nails. I've been to a lot of nail salons and this is not it. I'm never going back. read more

It's illegal in California to not honor gift certificates, no matter how old they are. They don't even have an expiration date on them (again- it would be invalid anyways because that's illegal) They refuse to honor gift certificates if they deem them "too old" Nice nails but don't waste your money on something someone can't redeem. read more

Ive been coming here for almost 6 years, it used to be really awesome and my manicure would last 3-4 weeks at least. They switched brands of their gels and when you open them up to see the color they are getting dried up fast and the quality is not the same. It used to be OPI and now it's some off brand. I have been coming to Bella for many years and there are some great things about it! It's very clean, many staff members are lovely and good at what they do, and as always I love that colorful bubble wall. But I have had a few really frustrating experiences there lately. I have a medical condition and my provider told me that it would be best to not have my cuticles cut. For some reason, this is always a major problem at Bella. Today, the manicurist told me that if I didn't want my cuticles cut I should just have cut my own nails at home first (I guess so she wouldn't have to open a packet of clippers??). But I had stopped by on a whim--who prepares ahead of time for a manicure? Then even though I asked to not have my cuticles cut, and she definitely understood this, she started cutting them anyway, saying she was just "cleaning up." While I appreciate the attention to detail, this was clearly the opposite of what I asked for. Pretty much every time I go in, they insist on cutting my cuticles and I have to beg them not to. It really stresses me out!! I love to get my nails done and can never get them looking as good on my own. But I think I need to find a place that is able to respect my wishes and frankly, bodily autonomy!! read more

Three of my nails broke within two days of getting my SNS service. The first nail broke an hour after the service, which they fixed. The next day I noticed a portion of the dip had chipped off leaving my nail exposed (similar to the first time it broke). To test the durability of the dip powder I pushed on another nail and *snap* the dip powder portion broke off where my actual nail begins. Well, the picture shows my main complaint about my experience here: The technician who did my fill tore up the skin around my nails by constantly hitting my skin with the tool. She also stuck the pointed tool they so far under my pinky nail that I actually screamed. I jumped and gasped so often that someone who looked like a supervisor came over and watched for a minute but didn't say anything. I've gotten a fill every two weeks for years and have never experienced anything like this before. I gave a 2 because I do like the spa environment very much, they weee able to get me in right away, and everyone was friendly. However, my fingers hurt too much for me to consider going back. I requested a full set with gel and polish what a nightmare. The nail lady named Suzanne ripped the acrylic off with a nail tip did not even soak. The Suzanne was offended when I asked a question to the manager name Nikki.Suzanne got off and left. Nikki was also very rude to me as well. Charged me $48 for unacceptable service is. At the end of the day, I walked away with my horrible nails had to go home and fix them myself. Seattle is full of overpriced places who don't really take care of their clients. Trust and believe, I've fallen in the trap. This however, really was special. I've had a very stressful month and really just needed some quality ME time. I called, booked an appointment and when I arrived was seen almost immediately. The staff is so friendly and kind, they are eager to make you feel pampered and the atmosphere is so fun and relaxing at the same time. I'd recommend the Herbal Spa pedi and Shellac mani, it includes a massage that's definitely worth it. The woman who completed my mani, targeted the exact points I needed relief in and It didn't feel rushed at all. It's a bit expensive (total was $114) so I do recommend speaking up and letting them know exactly what you want and how you want it to look. Check this place out. It's a gem. I went to Bella Nails late morning on a Wednesday. They had 6 employees there and they were putting acrylic nails on each other's fingers. That's fine with me. I'm just a customer. I'm paying for a service. There was only one other customer. Who was leaving. So I was wearing a tight sweater and a too small stretchy sports bra that was highlighting my "back fat" as I call it.
