In this economy you are looking for the breaks. Not that pricing isn't worth it but some of us just…read moreneed a little space to get things done. We knew my wife's A/C needed some fixing. We were able to get through the summer (surprisingly). We thought we were close to affording the repairs so we began our search. Everyone wanted to charge anywhere between $75 - $200 just to look at it. Some wrapped that fee into the service and others didn't (won't point any fingers). Rustic Wrench said no strings attached, let us look at it and give you a quote. Sometimes it's a trick to get you in the door, but I got there, they looked, gave me a quote, gave me super reasonable payment options for paying, and let me decide. I left with a quote and a full breakdown of the work that needed to be done. They did not ask for a dime, they didn't shoot ninety-nine sales people at me, they didn't ask me why i didn't do it then and there. They just let me go about my day. I went home and talked it over with the wife. We had our baseline and now how to pay for this. So we put it out there. Everyone was charging about the same price, but also wanted to charge me to look it over again. I am not super confident in what these mechanics should be charging but if this one is looking at for free and giving an honest competitive fee for the work... you get it. We decided on sticking with Rustic Wrench. The price they quoted was the price we paid. The work was done to satisfaction. Here is what truly stands out for Rustic Wrench. Everyone at there front desk area is not just super polite and sociable as you would expect for someone in a "customer service" role, but they knew the work as if they did it themselves. Brittany (she helped me end to end) was especially awesome. With this experience we have made the decision that's Rustic Wrench is our go to moving forward. No shopping around. No thinking it over. They have earned our loyalty. Good Job Guys!!!! And Brittany!

I was able to book time 1 day in advanced. Jake had great communication and let me know when he was on his way and 30 minutes out. I provided the part to replace. Jake performed the labor. Charged a very fair agreed upon rate. I'd say he was probably in and out in 35 minutes max. Allowed me to carry on with my day instead of the back & forth and waiting at a traditional mechanic. Super convenient and I appreciate it. Will be calling Jake again in the future

I strongly advise against using Scott's Auto for pre-purchase inspections. My daughter brought a…read morecar here for an inspection and was given the all-clear, with the mechanic diagnosing a front-end noise as bad CV axles. Less than a week after buying the car, the transmission completely failed. When we brought it back, they re-examined the car and acknowledged that the noise was actually coming from the failing transmission all along. However, they refused to take responsibility, hiding behind the excuse that their inspection is "visual only" and only ensures the transmission is bolted to the car. When we tried to speak with the owner, he shouted at us and hung up the phone. It is gut-wrenching to watch a college student lose thousands of dollars because a mechanic missed an obvious issue during an inspection they were paid to do. Zero accountability, terrible work, and unprofessional management.

Yesterday my mother called this location to ask about parts because she prefers OEM on her car and…read moreSteve's daughter Shyra answered the phone and was completely rude and unhinged. This is why I always make my mother put her calls on speaker because Steve's wife(Rochelle) and daughter, for whatever reason, have a habit of lying about things and have pretty consistently bullied my elderly mother for years. So apparently the daughter lied and said that my mother cussed her out, which she would never do, so when we got here this morning Steve told my mother you can't come here anymore instead of calling her and canceling it and having the guts to do that knowing she would be driving all the way in from Flagstaff. The behavior from his family is something documented on Reddit in several threads about mechanics around Phoenix, yelp, and other parts of the Internet so it's incredibly easy to verify this information and since his wife and daughter are now answering all of the complaints posts on yelp, I'm very curious to see how they respond to my very honest review. I also have that phone call recorded so I might post it on YouTube and link to it here to expose the obvious lying by Steve's daughter and i'm taking it to another mechanic to have them look at the work that was just done on it with the water pump and timing belt to make sure it was done correctly. In the short time that I posted this review, several people reached out expressing how many problems they had at A1 auto and recommended two mechanics in Apache Junction and Mesa and I've already spoken to both on the phone and not only are their mechanics knowledgeable, but their office staff is spectacular!! I consider this a good thing because now we have better places to get car repairs done! This community on Yelp really comes together to help people when it's needed.

Not only did he just erase the check engine light and not replace the purge valve, still had issues getting gas, he refused to come out and "warranty" a part which is odd since it's free for him and everyone involved , but knowing now he never replaced it makes complete sense. He also ripped off the driver side door panel, lost screws and a trim panel but ruined a whole panel cause he did not know what he was going by pulling on it. Also charged her to rewire the taillights, said it was all work, not only did the headlights go out during a storm at night taking her kid to work, but then was pulled over the same night for a taillight out.
