The Anza True Value website page with the spline item I was swindled for $10 more than advertised.

I rarely rate a store down but this one rates only one star. As a neighborhood source, I have shopped at Anza Hardware for years, but this AM I went there to buy some screendoor spline--that's the binding that is a plastic rope that firmly holds the screen in its frame. Low priced but essential for screen replacement. I went online and found 'Truevalue Anza' and searched for spline. I knew what I needed and found it....for $3.99, so I called to see if it was in stock and they said 'yes' we have it. So I went there at opening time, the following AM to purchase the $3.99 for 25 ft as shown online (see photo). When I got there, nobody was at the register so I waited and waited. Finally, a guy with initials "HA" shows up and tells me that the item is 'in the warehouse' and that we need to walk out there. So, we walk thru the back door, across the alley and into a separate building, where there's a workspace with a big table and along the edge of the table, rolled on spools, are the spline and rope materials. He points to the choices and I find the .165 spline as shown in the photo. He asks me how much and I tell him and he cuts it from the spool, no measuring but holding it across his chest. He and I proceed to walk back to the store and he "rings it up"....BANG! $13 NOT the $3.99 as shown in the photo of the online listing of Anza's stock. I complain and pay cash and leave...It was dishonest of him. I went back after telling a friend, who said it also happened to him at 'that place' as well. The cut spline turned out to be less than 25 ft. but didn't delay my work, so I accepted it. I looked at the cash register receipt and it said '20 ft of building materials' = total $14.27'. So, I took the receipt and the photo of the web photo on my cell phone back to the store. "HA" was there and concocted a story, in a hurry, about the store not actually being a 'Truevalue' store and therefore the website didn't reflect their stock. He wouldn't credit me the $10 overcharge. He said 'bring back the spline' and every other option under the sun, but no refund, no store credit, not even an apology. Don't patronize these liars and cheats. They are snakes who will smile at you while they pick your pocket! Don't say you weren't warned about "Anza True Value Hardware" on 190th st. Torrance, CA. Call them at 310-376-0852 and ask them why they lie and swindle people?

I just want to give a huge shout out to Ba at Anza True Value! I had 2 faucets to change out including waterlines and valves. First time for me, so every step, I had questions! 3 trips to this store and he helped me every time. They were super busy, but he made time for my beginner questions and advised me! In contrast, went to Home Depot, waited 15 minutes for zero help in plumbing, just a lot of useless employees standing around, and not one would help me! So, moral of the story, shop small, shop local!

This place has really become my neighborhood hardware store. In this case, I was looking to repair my red rider. I thought it needed new wheels. They have wheels right outside, and my dad was sure that they could hook me up. When I went there however, the guys decided that all I needed was to lubricate the wheels, so they did it... and they were right! Well they wouldn't take my money, So I bought a nice set of gardening gloves. This is not the first time that their advice has been valuable! They have just about everything that you possibly need in here, and they are still wearing masks, for customers like me who are at risk. I really appreciate this place! Highly recommend, for attitude, knowledge, and stock!

They confirmed that they do offer the service, and said that for automotive keys, it's $5.99 for a two-sided keyblade cutting service. I came in to the store and asked them to go ahead and cut the keys. The employee seemed fine, and was ready to cut the keys, but some guy who identified himself as the store owner came up to me and started asking me an unending series of questions about the keys I was having cut, and he warned me that if I brought blank keys from outside, that his shop might mess up the key cutting and that it was not going to be his fault. I told him that this was fine with me, because I had paid very little money for these blank keys, so I would shoulder the risk. Then he told me that because my keys have a transponder inside them, that they would never work with my car. This is not true. He doesn't know what kind of vehicle I have, and he doesn't know how the keys are paired to work with my car after I have them cut (it takes about 30 seconds to pair them, and requires the original key, which is already paired with the car via a chip transponder). After I politely asked him to quit with the ceaseless questions about my keys, the man who identified himself as the owner of the hardware store asked me to leave, and told me that he would not cut my keys. This was the strangest interaction I have ever had with a hardware store in my life! It was stranger still because I had agreed to shoulder the risk if there were any issues cutting my keys. I was polite in my interaction with these guys, and I politely asked the owner guy to stop with his ceaseless questions and just let me get my keys cut, but he had a terrible attitude and was clearly angry/irritated by something, even before I showed up at the store. It's absurd that this business refuses to cut keys for people, especially when the customer calls in to verify that this business offers that service, including for automotive keys like the ones that I wanted to have cut! I would recommend going elsewhere. This shop (and it's owner, apparently) are pure trash. I must say though, that the employee who was going to cut my keys, he seemed totally fine. It was the guy who identified himself as the owner who had a really bad attitude and couldn't stop trying to sabotage the sale.

I booked the truck online with the Home Depot app that morning for a noon pickup, and everything was ready when I arrived at the rental area on the north side of the building. The truck ran great, was clean, reliable, and had no mechanical issues at all. Everything fit in a single trip, which made the move quick and easy. I topped it off with $15 worth of gas before returning it and even cleaned the windows. Overall, the rental process was simple, convenient, and hassle-free. I'd definitely use Home Depot truck rental again.

There was a gentleman at the register that was helping her round numbers off so I assumed they got it correct. I received the call and my screens were ready about a week later. I go to pick up my screens from Long Beach California, bring them home to my surprise. They do not fit. I immediately called the store and let them know that the screens were not fitting properly. When I get to the store I got the opportunity to speak with the manager, Miss Sabrina. She was very pleasant very apologetic and sincere. I also noticed on the rescreened that because of the way the screens go back into the window that the tabs were on the wrong side, Miss Sabrina wrote a note for the screens to have the tabs placed on the correct side. She also noticed my small window screen, which was a a new screen was thicker and taller compared to the original one. She lets me know that we'll make it a priority and will give you a call when they're ready. I believe I dropped them off on maybe Wednesday or Tuesday and I hadn't heard from anyone over the weekend. Here comes Monday. I just called to check on the screens to see what the progress was. I didn't get the associates name on the other end of the phone, but they did mention that the screens were ready. I had my mother pick up the screens because I was not feeling well. She brought the screens back to me I immediately knew that they were the same screens simply because the tabs were not placed on the correct side. The small screen did not fit back in the window again I get on the phone and complained again. Miss Sabrina says she's so sorry we're gonna go ahead and give you your money back. I had a question I wanted my screens re-screened and I wanted to know based off the originals. Would they be able to do it . the manager Lila stated we've done your screens two different times and we're gonna go ahead and give you back your money, no one looked at the size of the screens, the height of the screens to make sure they were the same. No one looked at the tabs to make sure the tabs were on the correct side of the screen. I am simply writing to let you know the service was poorly done. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the staff even respect the on-site management. I was genuinely shocked and said, "Holy fuck, just for one key?! That's a lot!" I understand that some people may not like that language, but I was expressing surprise--not threatening anyone, insulting anyone, or causing a scene. I still said I wanted the key and went to pay with my card. Then I was told there was a $10 minimum to use a card. Again, I expressed my disbelief at the situation. Instead of simply completing the transaction, the cashier decided to tell me to go somewhere else and took the already-made key back. So apparently, this store would rather waste a perfectly good key and lose a sale over a customer reacting to the price. The entire interaction was completely unnecessary and could have been handled professionally. I walked in to make a simple key and walked out because the cashier decided to escalate the situation over a customer expressing shock at the price. If you're looking for a place where a basic transaction can turn into an unnecessary confrontation, this is apparently the place.
