I couldn't be happier with my decision to upgrade to solid brass metal "architectural grade" fixtures. They are nice & heavy and even come with a lifetime guarantee. I'll be honest and admit I looked to cut corners and save $$. The LED bulbs they use save electricity and cast a softer glow, almost like natural candlelight. The easiest and most obvious 5-Star review that I could imagine giving. My wife and were interested in landscape lighting for the front and back yards of our house. We recently completed a full remodel, including landscaping, and the lighting was going to be the icing on the cake. I was origianally intending to try and take on the job myself but the more research I did, the more I realized we needed an experienced professional to do the job we wanted done. We wanted creativity, detail and to make a statement. I contacted South Bay Lights via their website. Steve got back to me shortly thereafter. I told him what we were looking for and he gave a thorough explanation of his thoughts and approach to lighting. We then scheduled an appointment for him to come out to our house. During the appointment, he went through everything, including the whys, hows, etc., plus answered every question we had. His price worked for us and we scheduled him to install the lighting. He was extremely creative in how he used the lights. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his work, and without me trying to sound too hyperbolic, it felt like there was an artistry to this for him. We are completely thrilled with the end result and we made an excellent decision in selecting South Bay Lights. Other important notes: Steve is extremely professional, articulate, always delivered on time and on what he said (quotes, designs, appointments, etc.), and returned phone calls and texts. Steve Waller, owner of South Bay Lights, provided outstanding service & responded immediately to trouble shoot & easily solve my outdoor lighting issue in a very timely & cost efficient manner. In my opinion, he deserves 100 stars! My outdoor lights were not working intermittently and he was able to find the wiring issue without major disruption to my front yard garden and rewired the trouble spots. I had him come out to my home on two separate occasions for 2 separate but similar issues. In both instances, he was extremely professional, responding to me immediately, setting up an appointment very quickly, showing up on time, digging up the trouble spots to figure out how the lights were connected & resolving both problems quickly where other electricians had failed. The wiring done by my original landscape electrician resulted in poor underground connections which over time were affected by ground water interrupting the signal. Steve had to dig up my decomposed granite & weed cover to figure out where the wires were running. Then he repaired all the bad connections with some new wiring & cleaned up all debris & then put everything back exactly as it was before. During our meeting, Steve looked over the existing lighting! Took pictures and made suggestions as to replacing and upgrading the lights. I expressed an interest in timers being installed as well.
