As consumers, we're at the mercy at times of the repair company when it comes to charges. But, South Bay Appliance came to the rescue! I set up the appointment with them and Tom came out to analyze the problem. Within an hour, he found the issue and communicated with me the cost to repair. The cost was so reasonable and had Tom do the job. The overall experience with South Bay Appliance was excellent and I've found my new appliance repair company. After a condescending speech about how to use a microwave, I said I've been using one for fifty years. He said verbatim, "they don't make them like they used to". It was less than a week after purchasing. I found a better one at Costco for about the same price. I recommend anywhere but here.

It's very hot out and suddenly the fridge door is not sealing. Extended warranty is closed until Monday and the store simply gave me a phone number for kitchen aide (who simply has a voicemail that they are closed until Monday). Now, we are going to lose a few hundred dollars in food that is going to spoil and have leaking water all around our very expensive fridge. My recommendation would be for Universal to send a repair person (to show they back their products and their warranties) and then bill the warranty company on behalf of the customer. That would be 5 star worthy service (I remember Fedco doing this for my mom way back when ... those were the days!)

They refused to give us any discount or really do anything to rectify the situation (or at least give us back the price difference between the marble and cheaper limestone that we received). We weren't willing to pay for labor twice (and they wouldn't cover any of the cost) so we had to live with a sink that we honestly don't like and doesn't go with our house.
