I told him I needed it to switch the grip on my hunting rifle. He says I don't like guns and I don't like people that have guns. He asked me if I was planning on shooting someone. Wtf? This type of hardware store is so much better, for many things, than a Home Depot. I have shopped here a number of times. If you are looking for specific tools, parts or materials you are on your own at Home Depot. At Triangle Hardware they are experts on their inventory. I brought in an unusual screw. I needed two more that were a quarter inch longer. In three minutes, they identified the screw size, and I had my two new, longer screws! This would've been a 30 minute hunt, without assistance, at Home Depot. And I might not have even gotten the right screws. Highly recommend them. This little hardware store has a good variety of products despite it's small size. I was looking for some enamel paints in a small can and they had them but not the red color I needed. The prices are way higher than what you will pay at the big corporate stores but this place is merely for convenience. The employees are very helpful and won't avoid you while you browse. read more

I found Triangle Hardware while shopping for a dealer of Precision Screen & Security Products screen door. I made two visits: one to order the door and another to pick it up. Honestly, I really only ventured as far into the store as the front counter by the door, but even from that vantage I could tell the space was closely packed with awesome hardware. I grew up around hardware stores like this and the vibe was the same. I especially liked the display case full of pocket knives on the counter, it took me right back to the 70's. The owner, Sonny, made the special order process a breeze. They also have a nice number of parking spaces in back of the store which is a big plus as parking along PCH in Hermosa can be a challenge. Visiting Triangle Hardware was a nice alternative to the box stores. Besides which Home Depot doesn't carry Precision. Lowe's does but their millworks doesn't answer the phone and I'd much rather patronize a local business. read more

A-OK and not a bad place for the little things in life...Triangle Hardware used to be walking distance for me, so I have a decent amount of history going there. They've got pretty much everything for the nuts, bolts, screws, and minor fixes...not a lot of tools in the selection and not a lot of outdoorsy stuff or big job fixes. But it is a good little store, with helpful and friendly people. Great for getting batteries when you need them close to home, or a key made, or small fixes for bathroom and kitchen. Somehow every time I come here they have something, whether it is a temporary fix or something a little more permanent. Parking can be a real b*tch, there's a few spaces behind the store and you can try to find street parking on 5th, 4th, or PCH...good luck w/ that during traffic times. This is not a big-box home center store, so do not have the expectations of that...this is a small, neighborhood hardware store and if you've got small problems, they'll be there to help with small fixes. The staff were very efficient in processing my online order for pick-up here. Parking is fairly easy but at times I can see might or can be tough potentially if the area is busy. This is a small boutique hardware store affiliated with Ace Hardware. I'd say "support your local small business" and come here before going to Home Depot, Lowes or Orchard Supply Hardware if you are the type who like the convenience of a neighborhood retailer supporting the needs of the residents. read more

Great place for items that I needed to get quickly. While Home Depot isn't too far away, I like to visit Triangle Hardware for small items that I need. The staff are good and knowledgeable and will offer suggestions for the fix I am attempting. I have also started bringing all of my screen repairs to this location. I came to this business to find an adapter that would accommodate a Pur filter. I have a chronic cough with airway disease. I wear a mask when I'm in a public setting. Once I entered this establishment I started coughing. The sales person told me "you should have stayed home". He move away and I asked him will he continue to help me. He stated NO. I cannot recommend this place. I went in today to buy a back support belt. I grabbed a medium and went to the counter to buy it. I believe it was the owner that was at the cashier. Since I was a little between the Medium and Large I asked him what the return policy was. He instantly went from nice to very serious. He asked me why I would return it and I said possibly because of a size issue. The owner got a little rude pointing out that the package has the size listed on it so there's no reason I should return it. He then went to "No. if you open the package, you cannot return it." I then noticed the Return policy sticker on the counter that stated I can return it within 30 days with a receipt. I asked, "Oh, so this doesn't apply?". He acted a little snotty and opened the stapled package right there and had me try it on. Sure enough it was too small so I purchased a Large instead. Overall, I did not like the owners customer service and his dishonesty about his return policy. He clearly has a deeply bedded hatred for returns. Might as well just make convert to a No Returns, Refunds, Exchange store because the currently policy is false. If you read the other negative reviews, you'll notice a similar track record. I've been going to Triangle Hardware for the past 15 years. I'm a big proponent of supporting neighborhood businesses. So for most of my hardware needs, I would go to Triangle over Home Depot or Lowe's. Unfortunately, I will no longer step foot in Triangle due to the way they treat their customers. Most recently, I've went to Triangle to pick up some materials, and had some questions. There's an employee (skinny, long hair, dirty mask) who could not be more rude. He could care less about helping me (I've had similar experiences with this employee, but brushed it off). So, I left without buying anything, and called to complain. A guy with an Indian accent answered, and I told him my experience. Instead of hearing me out, he started to yell at me, and told me to take my business elsewhere. So, that's what I'm doing. I rarely if ever post on Yelp. But, I felt this was important. Triangle is NOT a neighborhood business I will be supporting moving forward. MAYBE it's just the one employee who's the problem. But the employee (maybe it was the owner) who answered the phone is the problem as well. read more

I love supporting small local businesses and it's a small shop, but had everything I needed (screws, nuts, bolts). The lady was SUPER HELPFUL, she really knows her stuff and can problem solve easily. For her, I would give 10 stars. For the very rude man named Sonny, I would give him - 10 stars. My husband came back empty handed with no solutions and the reason is because Sonny was short with him and rude. I then called to see if I they had a screw that was either 3/4" shorter or 1 1/2" longer and in the middle of my question Sonny hung up on me. The shop is very close, so I decided to go in because I needed a solution on the same day. My favorite lady was there ready to help and I asked her where she was in the morning because a rude man (Sonny) answered the phone and was most unhelpful. Sonny was there and he claimed that he answered all of my questions and that I hung up on him. He became very angry and worked up. I don't believe he deserves a place at Triangle Hardware because of his unprofessionalism and rudeness. He was ridiculous and called himself a victim as well. A small neighborhood hardware store that has just about everything the average consumer would need. The service is fantastic. If you ask where an item is located they don't tell you "Aisle 5." They walk you to the item and answer any questions you might have. I'm not a customer with high expectations but I do recognize customer service that goes above and beyond. This store exemplifies customer service and appreciation. I appreciate they very much. Parking is not great. The lot in the back is small and street parking rarely available.
