So, I'm sometimes a bit of a last minute person ( I've learnt to accept myself and I don't wish to be judged!) and last week I decided to have some friends over for my Husband's birthday. My Husband loves cheesecake but he doesn't like toppings on it. So I started looking around and I found Anthony's. I called and spoke to a very nice and helpful gentleman who helped me place an order for same day delivery and helped me select the New York cheesecake (please note they don't have all the varieties available for delivery same day) with strawberry topping sent on the side in case anyone wanted! This place is great, came here on Sunday around 1, they ran out of the croissant French toast which was the only downside, but ordered the Belgian waffle which was amazing. I wish I could do 4.5 stars because this place is that close to being perfect. I was surprised to find this spot in this part of downtown Bloomfield, which is lacking in restaurant options. We came here on Thursday night (they only have one dinner night according to their hours) and we were blown away by the menu selection. Everything sounded delicious and we had a hard time making up our minds. The food was very creative and inventive, though I think it could have had a tad more flavor. Kept feeling like it was missing something, though no doubt the ingredients were as fresh as could be. I'm just going to try other dishes next time. The dessert however, was through the roof good. Oh my god. We had the doughnut with ice cream and caramel sauce and I was in heaven. So fresh and delicious. The coffee was outstanding as well. The atmosphere was cozy but cool. This place is horrible. I ordered lunch from here once they took almost and hour and also messed up my order. They gave me a Chicken Potato and Eggplant wrap when i ordered a Chicken cheesesteak wrap. I also ordered a shrimp fajita wrap which was not even cut in half, shrimps were not cooked and still had all the tails on them. The chicken cobb salad was disgusting as well. This food was so horrible i couldn't eat it and had to leave my job to go get my money back. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. NEVER! read more

If I could rate a half star I would. We didn't have to wait long for our table which was nice but it took forever for someone to come take our order. He came back and told us that what we wanted wasn't available so we ordered something simple off of the brunch menu. LITERALLY EVERY TABLE THAT SAT AFTER US was served their food. We sat there for 40 LOOONGGG minutes. No one came to apologize or give us any reason as to why it was taking so long. It wasn't a full house and the staff didn't seem to even notice or care. I love cheesecake and being from NYC, we have some really great places to get cheesecake here but Anthony's was not only fresh but so yummy. It took 15 minutes to get a seat, and after 20 minutes, I was informed that they were out of soup, and I watched two other parties that came after me get served. I waited 45 mins and not even an apology. We got so frustrated, we left without eating and still no sign of our food. HORRIBLE experience, and will NEVERRRRRR go back. This is small hidden restaurant/cafe in the center of Bloomfield. The ambience was a little lackluster, but it is a great spot for lunch or takeout. I enjoyed a great breakfast of french toast croissants, they came with delicious breakfast potatoes seasoned well and crispy just how I enjoy them. I had breakfast with an orange juice (it had ice cubes in it, not sure why). I took a slice of cheesecake home since it was my first visit, and it was yummy, delicious crust and creamy cheesecake, it didn't even need a topping. I never imagined trying that anywhere, and now after having it there, I don't think I could have it anywhere else. This place is gourmet with reasonable pricing. Their cheesecakes are out of this world, and this is from a guy who hates cheesecake. Always a different option, their daily specials continue to surprise. There is lots of construction right now outside which makes for it to be difficult to get to, but it is worth the circles you have to drive around to arrive. Highly recommend! I've never been a huge cheesecake fan but Anthony has singlehandedly managed to change that. I ordered a salted caramel cheesecake to take to a family get-together & everyone was raving. I asked Anthony to recommend whatever his favorite was & I couldn't be happier with it. I've also eaten lunch here several times when Washington St was still a bit run-down. This was a little hidden gem which is right in the middle of the redevelopment area now. The food was really good! I usually get the quiche if it's available & it's great. I went to Anthony's for the first time on Saturday with a large group of ladies as a celebration breakfast. We arrived around 9am and they were fully ready for our large group. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I decided to try the Skillet sweet potato bacon hash with fried egg topped with chicken apple sausage (so delicious, I forgot to take a picture). OMG!! What a burst of delicious flavors and perfect combination of tastes. It was hearty, healthy and so filling all in one. The service was excellent despite the large crowd. Everyone raved about their meal from breakfast sliders to waffles to empanadas to the skillet hash...each meal is obviously made fresh and with care. I will be returning with my family. Me and my family were in town to see the Giants play the Arizona cardinals (we live in AZ by the way but are Giants fans.. go figure). Well we wanted some real cheese cake from the east coast as my wife has never been to this side of the country, so after a quick Google search Anthony's came up at the top of the list. We jumped in the car and headed there. Once we got there we were greeted by one of the owners and thier staff and to our surprise was very pleasant and really made us feel like we were at one of our local eateries. After we ordered several different kinds of desserts we could smell the aroma coming from the kitchen which made us just plain hungry. We both ordered some fantastic delights, I had the lasagna bolognese (fabulous by the way) and my with got a chicken dish and both were fantastic. My wife has always been a big fan of Tiramisu, well this was the best she has ever had.. it's also the first time she has had it east of the Mississippi... we will definitely return to Anthony's the next time we are here... read more

I work a few blocks from this place and finally got the chance to try it. I got their Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was one of the best I've ever had. It tasted so fresh and the chicken was FLAVORED SO WELL! The owner is very friendly and even after there was a slight price discrepancy he went out of his way to make it right. I decided to order lunch one day while rushing around and it was awesome! I got a chicken Caesar wrap. Didn't take long at all and the gentleman was super nice.
