The sauteed shrimp were rather tough and the rice, dry and hard. Starter and dessert were good.Service excellent. Did not complain to employees while there that evening, would have spoiled it for my wife. Came home and wrote a letter of complaint to the manager and chef. We recently ate at Anthony's, and we loved it. We were there for an early dinner and we able to eat outside with a view overlooking the falls. Beautiful! The scenery was amazing and lucky for us the temperature outside was perfect. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. She checked on us several times. She also let us know that the outdoor area had been closed due to the heat for the past several weeks, so we were lucky to be there when we were. Due to the early hour, we were able to order the Sunset Dinner, and we chose an extra appetizer which seems like a pretty good deal. I started with the Shrimp Cocktail. This was not what I typically think of when I think shrimp cocktail but was a sundae glass filled with shredded lettuce and chopped celery with dozens of tiny shrimps on top and a spoonful of cocktail sauce. I thought it was incredibly tasty. Next I had the Smoked Salmon Dip. This was a ramekin of chunky smoked salmon pate with a half dozen crackers, capers, and chopped red onion. Again, I thought it was sensational. My entree was the sole. Thin filets, crusted and fried over pilaf and sauteed snap peas. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. Dessert was chocolate mousse. With whipped cream and shaved chocolate, I was very happy. The portions for the Sunset Dinner were not huge, but I left feeling quite full and very happy. I am a long time Anthony's fan originally from Western Washington. I have dined at several locations. Last month was my birthday so a friend of mine joined me for dinner at Anthony's in Spokane. Wow, things have changed and not so much for the better. I realize food is up in price for everyone BUT! We selected the special where you get an appetizer, an entree and a desert which I have selected many times in the past. The price was almost $15 more than previous times. my friend selected the steak entree which was about the size of a silver dollar! It was overcooked and most of her huge plate was empty! The waiter did take the entree off our ticket but it was a huge disappointment. The point is, Anthony's has even diminished from the consistent gold star quality that I had come to expect. What a great restaurant! I was so surprised and pleased! I wanted a romantic setting and this fit the bill perfectly as the restaurant is perched across from the Spokane River and Falls. We sat at a window table (recommended) and had a lovely view of the falls and the sunset. Our server, Sam, was attentive and polite and recommended several dishes. Ultimately, I selected the sirloin steak and my partner selected the shrimp tempura. We started with a coconut prawn appetizer. All dishes were great. My sirloin may have been the best sirloin I have ever had - seriously. And the shrimp tempura was excellent too - there must have been ten shrimp on my date's plate - buttery, plump and completely yummy. We booked ahead of time and put a note that we were celebrating our anniversary. They had a note saying "happy anniversary " with a romantic view of the falls. Our server took photos of us. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, cauliflower curry, surf and turf Sunday dinner with a half order of crab, dessert and cocktails. The only thing we did not like was the curry, it was more like a tomato paste with steamed cauliflower on it. But everything else was really delicious and the wait staff was very attentive. They brought out our dessert with little candles for our anniversary. As we were leaving 3 waiters, not including the gal serving us, all wished us happy anniversary so they were all very well informed. There is currently construction but their valet lot is indeed still open so don't bother paying for parking across the street, it may look like it's closed off but the entrance to their parking lot is clear. read more

We're big fans of the Anthony's restaurants with our favorite being Chinook's at Fisherman's Wharf. So it was nice to try this one in Spokane. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately. My husband had a Scuttlebutt draft beer (again I wonder why they don't offer a smaller size) and I had a Negroni. Since salads do not come with entrees, i ordered a Caesar and my husband had a cup of chowder. The Caesar was dressed properly and you could taste (as you should) anchovies in the background. The chowder is always wonderful, thick and creamy. My husband ordered the Copper River Salmon Halibut Duo topped with sundried tomato basil butter and served with champ potatoes and asparagus. Both fish were moist and delicious. He did have to ask for a little more of the butter as there wasn't quite enough. My tenderloin was perfectly cooked to medium rare, as requested. And it was charred well, tender and super good. Served with the champ potatoes and asparagus. The bread is sourdough and it was delicious. Our server was pleasant and checked back several times. You know how a server can avoid eye contact after your meal has been served? I noticed our server, Kensington, was watching how our meal was progressing every time she went by. My dad's Intown so I wanted to take him somewhere nice. This restaurant is beautiful and overlooks the river . I loved their homemade lemonade with cranberry, it's to die for . Great appetizers, accommodating employees, and delicious food. Nick are server was an absolute delight, knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. I wish I could've stayed longer, but unfortunately, my toddler was getting tired and had to cut my stay short. Nick even wrapped up my bread to go without me asking, which I really appreciated. Came here for restaurant week and discovered they actually have a Sunset menu ($29; $33 for 4 courses) that is very similar to their restaurant week menu ($33). Restaurant week only happens twice a year but the menu looks just like a modified Sunset menu which is available 5 days a week. Not enough changes have been made to create the menu for restaurant week. Honestly, the Sunset menu looks more interesting to me and it is cheaper, but I still went with the restaurant week menu since it is that time of the year. The Clam Chowder came out first with a bag of oyster crackers on the side. It tasted good but came out messy as it was dripping onto the plate. I got clam chowder in my hand when I grabbed the bag of crackers. Our waiter Stephen was very attentive and kind. We waited longer than usual for our food and the place was probably only 30% occupied. He asked if we wanted more sourdough bread (tasted good) and offered us free fried calamari for having us wait for so long. He refilled our water whenever it was half full. Out of everything we ordered, I enjoyed the complimentary fried calamari and clam chowder the most. The steak was average and I had better ones for cheaper. The crispy oysters had a taste that I personally don't like so I switched it for my friend's steak. It could just be me but my friend didn't like the oysters too. The burnt cream tasted good but the sugar crust on top was too sweet for me. Nice view if you get to sit by the window. Can't sit outside now due to the weather. This place is amazing! Came here with my parents one night and everything about this place was spectacular. We were able to make a reservation the same day and we were seated quickly after arriving. Because it's peach season, they had specialty cocktails and desserts with peaches. I ordered their peach vodka lemonade and it was delicious! Just the perfect balance of everything to the point where the vodka wasn't overwhelming. We ordered their shrimp and artichoke dip, clam chowder, seafood fetticuni, and chargrilled Alaskan fish (I believe this is what the last dish is called). The food came out quickly and it was super delicious. There was plenty of seafood in the seafood fetticuni and the fish was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, we couldn't sit outside due to the poor air quality but we were seated at a table near the window and got to eat with a view of the falls. Just a heads up! There is no dresscode here, but everyone dresses pretty classy. I didn't know that beforehand so I felt out of place wearing shorts. read more

Anthony's is as good as it gets when it comes to fine and casual dining. We came without a reservation but were quickly seated. A beautiful outside patio which looks over the Spokane Falls makes for a great dining backdrop. Add the Full Harvest Moon and it was too good for a business meal. Our server was one of the best I've seen in quite some time. Very cheery and knowledgeable of the menu making everything work. My colleague had recommended this from a previous visit and I'm glad he did. Our server--Now Cherry-- started us off with beverages. I had the Trickster Juicebox which was a nice IPA from the area. For appetizer, we had the pan fried oysters. Meaty-- nicely coated, very tasty. Served with homemade tartar and cocktail sauces. Next were the salads. I had the Blue Salad with Shrimp which was basically a romaine salad with blue cheese and salad shrimp on top. For my main course, I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine. Nice portions of shrimp, clams, mussels and scallops over fettuccine noodles. Not too heavy on the Alfredo sauce. My colleague ordered the Cioppino which he said was excellent. Dessert and now I'm too stuffed to think of all the great desserts they have during "peach season". We were advised to have the peach cheesecake. I wouldn't have been able to walk out of the restaurant had I endulged with dessert. Instead I drank my dessert with a Peach Drop which was served with a delicious slice of peach. My colleague had an assortment of peach slices with a side of vanilla ice cream. Not on the menu, but Now was able to make things happen. Everything was great. This location is gorgeous, overlooking the Spokane River and Falls. It's been here for some time but the ambience and decor are still classy. Some gorgeous woodwork and lighting with tiered seating so you can get a look of the falls.. Unfortunately, the food was lackluster and combined with the prices not something I would come back for in and of itself...I remember the chowder being better at another location I went to in Seattle. If I did come back it would be for lunch so the price was more palatable and really just to enjoy a nice drink with some apps over the falls. They have a beautiful outside space for warmer days. We would definitely recommend a dinner here. The views were beautiful from the entire dining room so there isn't much reason to wait for a table directly next to the window. The view was lovely as usual and the customer service was good but neither were enough to justify the price we spent (only food could justify imo). We chose to do an appetizer - the pan fried oysters and they were just so slimy :( I usually love all oysters but they really should have pat them down before breading them. We received five and only ate one each because we couldn't manage eating any additional. I ordered a "Strawberry basil mojito"... that was the furthest thing from a mojito and more like a margarita that was very sugary and full of seeds - usually I love seeds but there was so many that I was chewying everytime time I took a sip. When it came to dinner I chose to stick with their clam chowder. It was pretty good, just a very small portion for $13 - I thought they brought out a cup but I fact was the bowl I ordered.. My boyfriend ordered the New York steak and garlic shrimp. We were told the NY steak was their best in house... both the shrimp and steak were flavorless. The shrimp (you get 2 or 3 for $12) were over cooked and tough so that even after dousing them in butter you couldn't taste a thing. The steak, which was $32, was one of the most flavorless I've had in a hot minute... the seasoning brought no flavor whatsoever nor the steak on its own. The mashed potatoes cooled on the plate as they were firm when they got to us so the only semi-tasty thing on the plate were the chopped zucchinis and squash. All in all, I chose to give them a 1 because the view was pretty, the customer service wasn't bad, and they had some pretty good bread but their food was a real let down for the price point. I personally wouldn't recommend coming to drop a pretty penny on mediocre food :( . We left with $114 tab only for the complimentary bread and the single scoop of chowder being the only editable things :/ read more

Yes, this dinner was just $30.00, and I realize that you get what you pay for, but it was 2 oysters TWO! I thought something was wrong, I assumed the appetizer oysters would be a half dozen, I was obviously disappointed, and wished I had ordered another appetizer, they were also very small oysters, coming from Tucson, I was truly hoping for some good seafood up here in the pacific northwest. The entree was shrimp with steelhead trout. The shrimp were tiny, what looked like pre frozen popcorn shrimp???? I was so looking forward to good seafood and that just didn't happen. The trout was ok, the rice was good, but strange in the fact that there were raisins in it. I had a lovely glass of Willamette Valley wine, the creme Brulee was fine, tasted fine, even though the torching was strange. We had a lovely anniversary dinner. The drinks were on point. Loved the clam chowder and crab cakes. Scallops small plate was perfect, there were about 8 small on the plate which was more than enough. We had the chocolate lava cake for dessert, not the greatest, not much flour but the experience was fun. Had an amazing view from our table. It was our anniversary. Growing up in Seattle, many years ago, I always loved the original Anthony's home port. I had a really high expectation for this special night. We were seated by the window which was cool. The server was A+. Ordered two appetizers. The Dungeness Crab Stack - Absolutely delicious. In my mind, the word "Stack" led me to assume the portion would be larger. That's on me. Steamed Manila Clams - Good but nothing special. I was very happy I had access to sourdough bread and butter. Always great to dip in the juice. For dinner I had the Seafood Chop Chop salad with the Louie dressing. Was amazing. My gal ordered the Australian Rock Lobster Tail - Huge disappointment. I imagined it would be larger. It was overcooked. Tough and not juicy. The side was dry rice, 9 pieces of corn sold as succotash, green beans and maybe raisins. This was not a $75 dish in any way. Won't ever be back to this location when it was all about my gal who received a less-than dinner. On a side note, I have went out for many birthdays, anny's and special occasions. We received a card. Who knew Spokane had falls? Not me! A friend raved about the view of the river and falls from Anthony's dining room, so I had to investigate. He was not wrong. The Spokane river has some amazing falls and Anthony's has a world class view overlooking them. Washington State is still under mask and capacity restrictions. But we got in early and had a great table with a wonderful view. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and fun. A good selection of craft beer was to be had along with a simple, but elegant menu. Our group tried several different things including, fish and chips, fried oysters, crab cakes and more. Everything was really tasty.
