Another Broken Egg Cafe - Apple Fritter French Toast with a side of potatoes - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Winter Park, Florida

The interior of this establishment is super aesthetic and cozy. They have special booths for parties of two and I really liked that. I got the vanilla coffee and my girlfriend got the caramel coffee. We both enjoyed our drink and it was the perfect amount of sweetness for us. If you prefer sweeter, I'd say get the caramel like my girlfriend. The waitress also was very friendly. I got their seasonal item and my girlfriend got eggs with chorizo. I'm a big fan of potatoes for breakfast, and they were seasoned great. The egg on top really put things together, and the steak was cooked and sliced neatly as well. My girlfriend enjoyed their food as well as it came with chips and was more of a hand style breakfast. They complimented the salsa and appreciated the avocado on top. Classic breakfast stop, you should check it out at least once. read more

It had been a while since I'd eaten at this establishment. It is located at the Winter Park Village off Orlando Ave. There is a parking lot but fair warning, weekends it's CRAZY. I don't know how I found a spot so quickly (thank you random friendly person that let me have it!). Another pro-tip: they have a waitlist option you can sign up for. If it's live, definitely do it. When we walked in, I checked in with the host/hostess stand and we only waited about 10 minutes. The atmosphere here is bustling. It was busy, as brunch rush was almost over. Once we were seated, the very friendly server asked for our drink orders and gave some recommendations on some of the seasonal menu items. My sister really wanted to taste the mango cocktail but they were unfortunately out. She ordered the margarita instead and said it was pretty good. My sister ordered the champagne lobster omelette and I ordered a steak and eggs hash. Both were pretty tasty and as advertised. They have quite a few menu items. I feel like I never get around to having actual lunch here because they're breakfast menu is so good and extensive. Will have to go back for lunch and actually try a lunch item! read more

LOUD!! So loud!! The cacophony that assaulted our ears upon opening the door almost drove us away but we had reservations so we stayed. High ceilings, bare brick walls, and plain floors do absolutely nothing to dampen sound and you can quite literally barely hear yourself speak in this place. Though it bills itself as Southern fare, there was not a lot to earn that reputation. Biscuits were flat, sausage gravy was tasteless, Bloody Mary just tasted like mix, beignets were just hard cold fritters covered in powdered sugar, etc., nothing was good enough for prices charged. read more

Omg it was soooo good! Our server was Sophia (I hope I'm spelling her name right) and she was amazing! So sweet and kind. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable too. The food was great. The place looks so cute and very clean. The hot chocolate I got my daughter looked so good-she ate all the whipped cream on top so fast. I got the hash brown Benedict I think-it was amazing. Literally soooooo good. The hash browns were so nice and crispy and there were ham pieces inside which made it super flavorful. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise had mushrooms omg my mouth is watering just thinking about it again. My daughter had the chicken tenders and she also ate those very quickly. I was surprised. The seasoned potatoes were very delicious too. I am totally eggcited to come back. See what I did there? I'm probably like the 90th person to do that lol. read more

I went to Another Broken Egg Cafe, located in the Winter Park Village plaza, and overall it was a mixed experience. They have a really extended menu for both breakfast and brunch, with a lot of options to choose from. I got to try the biscuits and gravy, and honestly they were just okay nothing too special, but not bad either. The service is where things got a little rough. We went around 12 noon, and it was super busy. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed, and our order was taking forever. Unfortunately, we had to leave before trying more dishes because of the wait. One thing I did appreciate was that they gave us beignets on the house since it was our first time, which was a really nice touch. The place itself has a very rustic, country-style vibe, which I liked, it feels cozy and fits the brunch atmosphere. I would give this place another chance, but definitely at a different time when it's not as busy so I can actually enjoy more of the menu. Prices are fair for the area. read more

I had an amazing experience of trying some biscuit beignets. This was a nice morning for a sitcom breakfast with my girlie's. I couldn't eat much since it was a bit early. I did try the breakfast potatoes. They're flavor and cooked thoroughly. The staff were attentive and kind. The location was spacious. I never been to this establishment, but I will be back one day. read more

Another delectable experience in mouthwatering, delicious and well presented food! There are several locations for this restaurant; however, the Winter Park location is our favorite. The weather was absolutely perfect today for dining alfresco! Our server, Liz was as sweet as can be and very attentive. We always have a wonderful dining experience at this location. By the way, they have a great variety of delicious brunch cocktails to enhance your dining experience. read more

We ordered delivery and received the order in the time promised. The order was packaged well and all items were received. The Apple Pie Pancakes were good. They did taste like apple pie. The pancakes had apple slices, maple craisins, and chunks of graham cracker crunch. Even without using maple syrup, it was a bit too sweet for me. The three layered pancakes were more enough. I only ate half and saved the rest for the next day. The boys ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. They were good and just as filling. read more

The food is mostly good here, usually. There was no wait on a Saturday morning at 930am, so that was good, considering it's Winter Park. Service was fast and friendly. The coffee was ok, tasted a little burnt. The food tased good. They were out of biscuits... on a Saturday morning... and a handful of their menu items included biscuits. So they substituted other bread items instead. It was a little off putting how dirty things look when you are sitting there looking around. Every booth has this fabric backing and it's very dirty... The floors are a little too dirty for so early on a Saturday. You can tell that when they mop the floors, they don't move furniture... you can see the mop marks and the dirt that is left. Overall, we were a little dissatisfied with the appearance of the place. I think if they spend some money into updating their booths, and reeducating about proper cleaning techniques, the presentation of the restaurant would be a lot better. For being in Winter Park village, I was surprised with the state of the seating. read more

Great food, great menu, great drinks- but is it worth the hour wait and slow service? Debatable. They are extremely nice but due to the area and the size it gets so busy on weekends. You can join the virtual waitlist but then you still have to wait once you check in, and the servers are slammed that even the coffee takes 20 minutes to come out. All in all, solid breakfast but you'll have a better experience somewhere else. read more

No refills on my coffee. Took forever to get our food out. They forgot our order of beignets even after we asked twice. We ended up taking them to go. They were $4.69 with an entree, but it was listed as $5.49 on our check, so they had to get the manager to give us the right price. Also, the patio is in need of some serious upgrades. read more

Here's a polished version of your review that keeps your honest experience while remaining fair and credible: I would rate my experience somewhere between a 2.5 and 3 stars. The visit started off on a positive note. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, and the food itself was actually very good. The coffee was also better than what I've had at many other breakfast spots. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience went downhill. The restaurant was noticeably dirty. I overheard several people complaining about the condition of the restrooms, and although I chose not to go in after hearing that, the dining area wasn't much better. The booths in the back looked grimy, the floors needed attention, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Service also became an issue after our food arrived. Our waitress completely disappeared. We never received coffee or water refills, and I eventually had to walk around the restaurant to find her just to ask for another cup of coffee. Considering the air conditioning wasn't working, having our water refilled would have been appreciated. By the time I was finally able to get someone's attention, my food had already gone cold. When my coffee finally arrived, it came in a single cup rather than being poured from the usual coffee pot. I can't say anything was wrong with it, but after feeling like my request had been an inconvenience, it just didn't leave me with the greatest impression. Overall, the food and coffee were the highlights of the visit, but the lack of cleanliness and the poor service after the meal was delivered made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. With better attention to cleanliness and more consistent service, this place could be much better. read more

Good: Atmosphere and service. Food was mediocre. Bad: Chicken tenders were jumbo crayon size. Coffee wasn't hot. Food was warm at best. Too salty for my taste. Out of biscuits by 9:30am. Floors were gross as you could definitely tell they don't move chairs to mop. Most booth fabric very dirty and vinyl seats were torn. Definitely not what I expected for the location. read more

Another Broken Egg Cafe is not your typical cafe. It serves a variety of meals to tickle your senses. Overall, the bonesless chicken strips are some of the best I have ever had. Service was okay. First time at any location and found the online waitlist to be a game changer. It signed us up automatically for their email list and we got a free order of beignets which are similar to zeppolis. Okay, my tribe has been talking about this place for years. I went once a few years ago, but I don't remember how it went. This time was okay. I'm not mad, I'm just not blown away. The food was good, but I expected it to be a little better. I expected "mid tier brunch" and got "fast casual on a good day". Again, not a reason to complain, but not a reason to run back either. The service was again, good. For me, hitting either service or food out of the park can make a 6 and 8 any day. Just didn't get that here. 6/10, might just go to somewhere else first. read more

Hard pass. While the service was great until the end. If you know I didn't enjoy the experience why did I have to wait 20 minutes for the check. The food was another sad story. I ordered the steak and eggs Benedict. I was not prepared for the amount of cheese they added to the meal. Couldn't taste anything over the 1/2 cup of shredded cheese. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp simply tasted fake like the stuff you would get at the food court at the mall. And don't bother with the beignets. They are cold, hard and didn't bother even tasting them. Not the quality of food preparation I would expect. The place looks clean. read more

Came here a year ago and I think it used to be a lot better. I love the chicken and waffles last time I came here and it was so filling I could barely eat the whole thing. Awful experience. Got in and service took over an hour. Place was completely empty. Server came back and said she forgot to put in our order. We eventually got our food an hour and a half after originally coming in. The food was stale, eggs undercooked and too runny (scrambled). The server poured water into my Coke Zero. Other food was mushy and just a giant ball of slop. Highly do not recommend. Other people were leaving and going other places. Cheap and should stay cheap. read more

I've loved this restaurant from the first time I tried it nearly a decade ago. Though, I don't get to visit this locale often, when I do, I am NEVER disappointed. And today proved no different. The only difference was I brought my mom along. This was her first experience and she LOVED IT - like I knew she would! So, without further ado, let's dive in!! If you don't know, now you know, that Another Broken Egg was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana - my hometown (yes, I know, I am not a Florida born and raised gal). So, naturally, my love and bias for any restaurant that brings back memories of my childhood and the flavors of NOLA is usually a win in my book. Now, normally, I get one of their specialty pancakes or seasonal breakfast options, but today I had the 1/2 Bacon Lover's BLT&A (with a fried hard egg and breakfast potatoes) because I wanted a more savory breakfast. My mom had the Bourbon Street Pancakes (with a side of medium fried egg and chicken sausage). Of course, she let me have some of her pancakes too because DUH!!! As expected, everything was DELICIOUS - especially those pancakes. Portion sizes are great - it's plenty of food. They offer tons of drinks & libations if you want to get a little morning cocktail vibe going. If not, they have plenty of non-alcoholic beverage options. Prices points are very reasonable and more importantly, for the quality of food you're getting, it's all worth it! The staff is amazing. Our server today, Lila H., was absolutely fantastic!! This locale gets busy on the weekends, but it's pretty easy-going during week day - especially during the morning. The service is speedy during this timeframe as well. On the weekend when it's busier, the wait can get long, but I promise it's worth it. There's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating and the overall decor mimics that of a mom and pop eatery. Very homey but also has French / Cajun moments that pay homage to its founding city. All in all, this was a great morning breakfast with my fav gal, my mom, prior to starting my work day. I've made a new fan for the restaurant (aka my mom), so, trust and believe, we will be back!! As for you, IF you have not been, change that now! Please pay this restaurant a visit. It will be worth your while!! read more

We used to go to Another Broken Egg Cafe in Charlotte, NC, when we lived there. It started out good and then each time we visited, it got worse and worse. We finally stopped going...and the restaurant eventually closed. So I was a little bit hesitant to go years later when we moved to Orlando. We finally visited the Winter Park location, and...WOW. I was super impressed with the modernized décor, menu, quality of food, and the service. I joined the waitlist on the drive, so by the time we got there, we only had a wait a couple of minutes after checking in on a very busy Sunday morning. The menu was very different from what I remember. There seemed to be a lot more (and better) choices from years ago. I ordered the Mardi Gras omelet. It was delicious, so full of flavorful crawfish, and smothered in a tomato hollandaise. Yum! This experience has changed my impression of Another Broken Egg Café, and we plan on adding it to our weekend breakfast rotation. There are a lot of entrees I'm looking forward to trying on future visits. read more

I have been to this restaurant in Winter Park Village atleast 20 times. It was my go to place in 2021/ 2022 when taking clients to breakfast/lunch. We went today to celebrate something big and ugh! The vibe was still great. The server could not have been better. The food, not so much.I ordered the southern stack sandwich. One piece of ham,1/2 of a piece or turkey and a sliver of tomato with burnt dried out bacon served on burnt dry wheat bread. It came with a pickle and potatoes. The Manager took it back to kitchen and added another piece of turkey. Toast and bacon were still burnt. It just was not good, way too much effort to have an enjoyable lunch. Not worth the calories or the $15.00 price tag. The sweet server came and asked if the 2nd order was better...it wasn't. She asked what she could do,I asked her to remove it from our bill, which she did and she gave us complementary bieniets. Mediocre at best. They had a burnt taste. It was just not a great experience. My husbands apple fritter pancakes ($17.00 for pancakes?) were great! As nice as the Manager and server were,I will never go back. Way too many other places to choose from. read more

Solid breakfast I often dine at the Tallahassee location so was thrilled to discover that there was an Orlando location. I have only utilized the takeout service for the Orlando location so can't speak much about the ambiance. From what I can tell, the restaurant is always packed so it's clear people like the food. When I arrived to pick all the curbside takeout spots were taken. So I called to let the restaurant know. I asked if I could park in an open spot near the designated curbside up and they were able to accommodate my request. They easily spotted me and brought my food. Food is solid. I've tried the waffles, pancakes, biscuit, eggs with cheese, and chicken sausage, and potatoes. The food hits the spot. Good comfort food for breakfast. read more

Great Food, But Service and Cleanliness Need Attention Another Broken Egg Café in Winter Park definitely delivers when it comes to tasty breakfast and brunch. The food is delicious and the menu is full of flavorful options that make it a popular spot. However, the experience is a bit let down by the service and cleanliness issues. While I understand mornings can be busy, it's noticeable that the floors sometimes remain wet and there's a bit of leftover mess around. So, in summary, Another Broken Egg Café has fantastic flavors and is definitely a spot where the food itself shines. But because of the little oversights like floors left damp and tables still wet from melting ice the overall experience could use a bit more attention to detail. It's one of those places where you hope the service will catch up to the quality of the food, especially in a spot like Winter Park where you do expect a little extra polish for your money. In the end, the dishes are delicious, but just be prepared that the service and cleanliness might not always match the taste. Hopefully, they'll fine-tune those details because the potential is definitely there! And be aware of sometimes smells. read more

My husband and I were close by for an appointment and decided to pop into Another Broken Egg Cafe for a quick bite. The hostess was very friendly and greeted us as soon as we waked in! She asked us if this was our first time coming in. When I told her yes she grabbed a glass mug with a paper in it and placed it on our table. She said that was to let the waitress know we would get free beignets! That was a nice treat! They were light and fluffy inside with a nice crust outside served with a yummy orange marmalade. They were delicious with coffee. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were fluffy and light. The chicken was a little dry for my taste, but had a nice crust. My husband had the pancakes and in house made patty sausage. He said the pancakes were good and the sausage had nice spices. It's really cute inside. The service was slow. It took a long time to get our food and i had to ask 3 times just to get more coffee. In their defense our waiter said a cook, a dishwasher and a waitress called out so they were short staffed. So I'll give them another try. read more

Every time we get our car serviced, we come here because their food is always good but today, I did not like my choice. Skinny breakfast. It tasted bad to me. Maybe, the cheese and the veggie combination wasn't too good Our server today was not too efficient. My hubby ordered over easy and he got scrambled. But, it was given to him when he pointed out the mistake. The sausage was salty for my taste. It's a bit wait for the food so, if you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. I wish I could give this more stars but I cannot in good conscience. A good friend and my wife and I went there after Mass this morning. Now I have been at the Another Broken Egg by the airport and there is not comparison. The airport location is far better. I felt that the service a little slow and yet they really weren't too busy yet. The food was just ok. Now the real reason for a 1 star. Our friend fell on a wet spot walking to the restrooms. The only people to help or even to show concern were other customers. After she got back to the table, she had to ask two times for ice for her knee. No-one made any effort to clean up the spot where she fell. From the time our friend returned to the table, it took a good 10-15 minutes for the manager to come to the table then tell her she needed to fill out an incident report. Not an I'm sorry; are you ok, etc. He left and eventually returned to the table to fill out an incident report. To say the least our breakfast was ruined by this incident. She had to tell the manager that he needed to comp the meal. He wasn't about to do that. In my opinion, he should have comped the whole table but just did just her meal. Now I am not looking for free meals but our enjoyment was dashed and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Customers showed more care and passion then employees and management as customers were asking me if she was ok. Nothing like ruining breakfast. Never again will any of us will return to this Another Broken Egg. Horrible! I have photos but do not want to waste them on Another Broken Egg. read more
