A friend and I attended a music festival in the area, and we stumbled upon this diner when looking for a place to eat afterwards. We stopped here since it was one of the closest options, and seated ourselves at a table to order. The atmosphere was cozy & inviting (lovin' that patriotic vibe!), and there was only one server when we arrived. Three other customers were also seated at two other tables. The server was very pleasant and brought our menu and drinks, after which we learned that they were to close at 2. Realizing that left only 15 minutes to order and not wanting to be "that customer" that lingers after closing time, I asked for whatever could be prepared the fastest. Our server graciously encouraged us to take our time and order what we liked since she had plenty to do to clean up regardless, and wasn't leaving until the work was done anyway. After a quick browse of the menu, my friend and I decided to order one meal to share-the double breakfast items that included two french toasts, 2 bacon slices, and eggs (we chose scrambled) for $11.49. Our order arrived promptly, and the French toast and bacon were on par with freshness and taste. While I can't really speak on the eggs (I am super picky with eggs), my friend seemed to enjoy them and had no complaints. As a bonus, it was just enough food for two! Although they were closing soon, I noticed the server was laughing and engaging in fun conversation with another customer. Everyone was enjoying themselves, and it was clear that none of the remaining customers felt rushed. My friend and I were also able to relax and enjoy our meal without interruptions or feeling pressured to eat fast (or better yet, box everything up to-go?) and leave. It was a surprisingly positive experience for having unknowingly wandered in as the final customers near the end of the day. If I ever revisit the area, I would love to dine here again and try that country fried steak bowl (before closing next time!). read more

My family & I used to be regulars here, service was great never had anything to complain about but the past 3 times we've been here the staff has been EXTREMELY rude & hushed us when we were trying to modify our order. & not to mention that we had to go get our own menus & wipe our own table. Would not recommend. The scrambled eggs were wet and seemed under cooked while the sausage was burnt. Omelet had burnt bacon. The biscuit was supposed to be grilled but looked and tasted like it was deep fried in oil. The music somehow was playing two different stations. The interior need's to be gutted and redone. Ceiling fans with no blades are hanging precariously. Rusting lighting fixtures with no bulbs. You can see into the kitchen area with the janitors mop cart and ladder. The waitresses were nice but would look better if they were wearing a uniform or something more professional. Won't be going back. Too many good places to go. read more

I have really liked this diner in the past but the last couple of visits have been pretty awful. Today I went for lunch and sat for a couple of minutes before a server came up to get my drink order. She brought it back right away and said that my server would be right over to take my order. Almost 10 minutes later the original server came back and said "Hi, I'll just take your order". Ok. I asked for a chef salad and a cup of soup. almost 15 minutes passed before i got her attention and asked where my food was. She then brought the soup, which was extremely peppery, and said my salad would be ready in a minute. A little while later another server brought a salad that was definitely NOT a chef salad. It was lettuce, a couple of tomato slices and a big pile of bacon bits. I told her that that wasn't a chef salad and she took it back to the kitchen where someone, the cook I presume, told her "that is a chef salad" and proceeded to argue with her. The last words I heard before I finished my soup and left was someone in the kitchen say "This is a restaurant being run by teenagers". I felt bad for them. Never did get the salad. I hope that they get it turned around and these past couple of visits aren't now the norm. read more

Nice diner. Reminds me of places we'd go in North Carolina. It has a very country feel to it. Food is simple and tasty. Prices are good. Service is always friendly. Breakfast is really yumm with many things to choose from. One of the few diners in town that serves country ham. This is an adorable little breakfast spot near College Park. It's not in the best part of town, but don't let that steer you away! I came here for breakfast and ordered a huge spread for 2, all for less than $20! Everything is priced reasonably and they don't skimp on portions. I visited on a Saturday morning and it was packed, but the service was still prompt and everyone was very friendly. Being the potato aficionado that I am, I had to order both their hash browns AND their home fries (each were only $1.99 for a side, how could I not?). They were both perfection. I suppose the home fries may have been my favorite, though. Their eggs, bacon, and biscuits all hit the spot for my diner breakfast craving. This place is the epitome of a classic diner and their food is exactly what you would expect. I left satisfied and with a full belly. It has great food, good prices and pretty good service. We tried a Gyro and it was better than most places in Central Florida. The grilled cheese and bacon was good, too. The large portion of french fries was a nice surprise with each sandwich and they substituted my slaw for applesauce without an up charge. I agree with keith below, this is a dump, dive, bad food, but service was quick. I think people must rank this higher because the food is cheap, less than five bucks for breakfast but the potatoes are pre cooked, stored in grease and slightly reheated. Heart attack waiting to happen. The cooks stand at the counter reading newspaper and when the waitress gave him our order he threw the paper on counter and rubbed his hand across his mustache and then went in back, I hope he washed his hands. The place is dirty, the front appearance looks like an abandoned building, the inside is not much better. I am not looking for remodeled, just clean. The place could have charm with a little thought and elbow grease. Even just paint the front a happy pink or Miami beach blue or another fun color instead of depressing brown. But the color and look of the outside of the building is a great representation of what awaits you inside. read more

Friendly server. Exactly what you'd expect from seeing the outside. Things are worn, yet sanitary. I asked what the vegetable of the day is and they didn't have one today. The burger was decent and the bacon is nice and thick. The fry oil was old and ruined what otherwise was a nice large pile of well cooked fries. They have a tiny window A/C unit units that did not stand a chance in a room full of large glass windows. Even the waitress was wiping sweat from her forehead with a napkin. I went with a Groupon that they run from time to time ($15 for $8) I will give them another try with breakfast before the A/C is a problem. read more
