This was a lovely meal in a local, cozy diner. We had breakfast, shared Southwest omelet. Hubby had juice and I had coffee. Service was speedy and it truly was a great start to a morning of shopping in Edgewater. The omelet was loaded with peppers, onions, cheese and bacon. We got a couple pancakes on the side which had a great flavor, fluffy texture and substantial size. We grabbed a community newspapers, sipped coffee and enjoyed a leisure breakfast in this cozy and comfortable diner. We back in the area, we will return. read more

I love a Diner/Cafe, the ambiance here is just that, a quaint establishment where you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. I ordered the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. We decided to come here and try this place out. You seat yourself and then a waiter will come to you. Service was very very friendly and polite. The food was delicious and very well priced. This small place was packed when my husband and I got there during brunch time. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The parking lot is small but you can also find street parking. We were greeted when we walked in to ask for a table. The server Suzanne was super nice and attentive to us. The pancakes are big so I split them with my husband. Next time we will get 2. This place was fantastic!!!! The service was a little slow but the food was worth it! The portions were really decent and half the price of most of the places around. I am a fancy pants brunch girlie but give me a solid diner with grits and wet eggs and you're going to have a happy girlie pop! I had the two eggs anyway (over easy), bacon, grits and sausage gravy. We came in for breakfast and had a great experience. Service was fantastic! We got seated quickly and our waitress checked on us and did refills regularly. For my meal, I got a chocolate chip pancake. Most people really only need to order one because the pancakes are giant. The pancake was delicious with crispy edges, a fluffy interior, and plenty of chocolate chips. It came with a light dusting of powdered sugar, butter, and syrup. Our first time at Christo's, and I was pretty excited going in based on positive reviews and seeing how busy the place was. We were able to quickly get a table despite how crowded it was. We decided on the Country Boy and biscuits and gravy. The food was bland, flavorless, and hardly even warm. Our server was sweet and took good care of us. However, when we went to pay, the lady at the front made a weird gesture at us when we handed her our receipt, instead of using her words to tell us she was asking for our card. She even mimicked the way we had said to have a great day, which was unnecessary. It was definitely off-putting and not a great end to an already bad breakfast. So glad to find this College Park institution from the same group that was located in Apopka. The food is just as good as I remembered and portions are generous. My sausage side order consisted of three well cooked patties, the English muffin crispy and buttered, my husband's Greek omelet well done. The best for us was seeing Suzanna, one of the kindest servers from Argo's. She is mindful and pleasant. We enjoyed the fact that our dog was welcomed on the patio. I was a little worried when I needed a key for an outside restroom but pleased that it was clean from top to bottom and fresh smelling with air freshener. We will definitely be back!! read more

My review is take out only. My son had a late breakfast there last week. He sent me a picture of the menu and asked if he could bring something home. I saw that they had liver and onions. I usually LOVE eating liver and onions at these little dive diners. This one was really disappointing. I opened the container to the entree and it was burned beyond repair. The liver, itself, was paper thin and charred to a chewy crisp. (See pictures) I tried to eat some of it, but it tasted worse than it looked. Basically went straight into the trash can. Simply put...a total waste of money. Luckily it came with coleslaw, so I ate that and had a little of their potato salad that accompanied the entree. Both were just ok. Not sure if they are only a breakfast spot, or if their cook had a bad day. Either way, I'm not too inclined to give this place an "in-house" visit. read more

Food not bad, not good. On a scale of 1-10 food is probably a solid 6. Ambiance is quaint classic diner feel. Host was nice and greeted us with a smile and told us to seat ourselves , but our server seemed rushed/not thorough even though the place wasn't that busy. I asked about switching my toast for tomato slices but was told it would probably be an up charge. Which is fine, but I don't think I've ever been somewhere that wasn't readily allowing that substitution. On the menu hot chocolate is listed as decorated with whipped cream and chocolate syrup but what was served was just plain and also a mess all over the mug. The check was brought out with the food and even fell on top of the food, which is unsanitary. Everything felt kind of thrown at us without any thought or care. We weren't given straws for our water and I thought maybe you have to ask, but then looked around and literally every single other person in the restaurant had straws, so I'm sure it's a standard, we just had to ask for some reason. When we left I noticed my fiancé had sticky gunk on the side and bottom of one of his shoes, we had to grab tissues and water bottle out of the car to clean before getting in the car. It might be a better experience depending on what server you get, but with Waffle House as an always solid option with consistent service/food, we won't be back here to test the theory. read more

I've visited a couple of times and have dabbled between their traditional breakfast plates; blueberry pancakes, eggs, and corn-beef hash. Lunch; sandwiches, soup, and more. All very good! Do yourself a favor and stop here. The best part is that this diner has been around for a long time so it's full of regulars, and locals. Okay his has become our Saturday tradition since we discovered it. One Saturday we were craving a cheeseburger, but were kind of fed up with the chain restaurants everywhere, and happened to be driving by Christo's which was advertising a bacon cheeseburger at the time. We pulled in, order the burgers and fries to go, & as soon as I took my first bite in the car, at the same time my bf exclaimed: "we gotta come back for breakfast! This is just too good!" 2 months later, and we haven't missed a Saturday. They regularly have specials: christos french toast, chicken fried steak, smothered pork chops. And traditional breakfast staples like scrambled eggs (with the cheese mixed in), bacon, sausage, & ham. The pancakes are absolutely perfect, and the waitresses are always so nice and attentive. They always offer a to go cup of whatever you're drinking, & the other night we opted for one of the desserts that have regularly displayed on the counter. The chocolate cake was too good to get a picture, and the baklava was perfect! Run here if you want a good, no frills, tasty breakfast! read more

We come here almost every weekend for either breakfast or lunch. Sometimes we will get a special & sometimes we get something delicious off the regular menu. Everything is delicious. And the portions are quite generous. The Greek salad is HUGE, & very filling!! And if I'm not too hungry they do have a lovely option of a perfectly cooked, small 4 oz cheeseburger with one side item that is just perfect. And they almost always have 2 soups available.... the house soup of the Greek Lemon Chicken, or another delicious housemade soup. Everyone who works here is terrific! We know many of the servers on a first name basis, they greet us with a big, friendly smile, & they take wonderful care of us.... like family. Plenty of seating inside & out. It's nice to have the area outside so you can bring furbaby & enjoy your meal outside. I have to say as a side note, there are some folks who write a glowing review & only give it 4 stars. Today we ordered an appetizer of corn Nuggets which were plentiful and crisp just right. We ordered a Cuban melt with sweet potato fries, a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and a pick two with a half tuna sandwich, cup of vegetable barley soup and a side of onion rings. Portion sizes are more than ample and we are all three taking home leftovers. The bacon cheeseburger is thick and the bacon is really really flavorful. The burger itself needed condiments for flavor. Service is friendly and as attentive as we wanted it to be. We dined around noon on a Wednesday and the restaurant is pretty busy. This diner is recommended if you are in the area. read more

Twenty years ago, my family and I ate at Christo's all the time. The food was consistently good. Nothing fancy, but it always hit the spot. At some point, we stopped going; I don't remember exactly why. This past New Year's Eve, I decided to go back for brunch and I'm happy to report that Christo's is back. Perhaps it never left. Both the food and the service were great. I sat outside and had a menu, coffee and a glass of water almost instantly. I ordered my Greek omelette with a side of grits and whole wheat toast and it was delicious. The coffee stayed topped off and I was even offered some fresh coffee in a to-go cup after paying the check. Like every place else these days, Christo's prices have gone up, but they're still in line with other restaurants serving similar food. With their great service, tasty food and convenient location in my neighborhood, I will be putting them back into my restaurant rotation. read more
