So far I've tried the hot chocolate, the iced matcha with coconut milk and the pistachio iced matcha, all solid. The pistachio is the standout though, especially with the pistachio butter around the rim. There is a pool table in the back, a small stage, community tables, cozy couches, and outlets if you need to get some work done. It's coffee shop by day, kava bar by night, and they stay open late on weekends. I heard that they also host karaoke. Amazing what they've done with the place. This used to be my boxing studio so i had to stop by and see what they've done with the space and it is gorgeous. That being said that is one of the reasons why the prices are what they are. They are pricey but their coffee is delicious, location and space is great as well. I went to check out this coffee shop right after it opened and I'm so glad I did. Dr.Drips has such a cool vibe/ look too it. The entire place is fillled with vintage furniture that comes from the antique shop down the street. A big pool table is in the back so you can even play a round. There's really unique art on the walls and lava lamps everywhere which are so cute! The menu has a lot of different drinks from smoothies, kava and specialty coffees. They have a lot of flavors I haven't really seen before at coffee shops like ube lattes and blue matcha. They also have do events like game and open mic nights, so I'll definitely check that out at some point. My daughter and I were out running errands and went on Yelp to find a coffee shop that we hadn't been to. The first one that came up was Dr Drip so we decided to check it out. Now to be honest I just got the drip coffee which was very good. I believe it was a Mexican bean. The flavor was on point and it wasn't burnt or acidic. My daughter got the Matcha latte which she said was one of the best ones that she had ever had and she has had a bunch. The best part was the Cinnamon Roll. OMG this thing was soooooo good. I'm always on the hunt for a good coffee shop or café, and I have to say this is a pretty cool spot to hang out and grab a cup of coffee. The ambiance is really unique. Very cool and nostalgic, which gives the place a lot of character. One thing to keep in mind though: if you're looking for a quiet place to study or read on a Friday night, this probably isn't it. The place is lively and they even do karaoke, which definitely adds to the fun atmosphere. As for the coffee, it was a little underwhelming for me. I love the decor and all the mid-century little touches like the chairs, coffee tables, and beaded curtains. We ordered a couple of their signature drinks -- the cinnamon crunch latte and the caramel mocha latte which were both tasty. The drinks did take awhile since they were pretty busy on a Saturday morning. They literally just opened so I'm sure they're still working on timing, but the staff were all super friendly. The menu features pastries, matcha, smoothies, specialty coffee, and a variety of cold foams that can be added to any beverage. The pistachio & egg cream cold foams sound amazing, and I definitely want to try them next time. They also have an entire kava menu which I admittedly don't know much about, but would love to learn more. Great communication by the staff. The espresso machine wasn't quite ready this morning so they brought us water while we waited then took our orders. At one point, they brought us cookies with sprinkles. The decor is what you might expect from the sixties or seventies. Cool, comfortable feel. The music was good as well. It didn't seem very caring to make people wait like that. Unfortunately, my drink came incorrect and my food was cold twice (happened to other people too). The manager said they'd comp me but they never came back around. I waited ten minutes in line again to get a refill and refund and eventually just gave up and left paying full price after a pretty bad experience. Not sure what was off so bad today. It has such a unique, eclectic ambiance and feel to it, I just couldn't resist getting something off their menu. I ended up ordering one of their matchas and YUM! It was soooo tasty! I almost went back for a SECOND - but self-control won me over that day. Service was moderate, as it was a little busy when I popped in that day. It was also mid-day on a Saturday, so I was not too hung up on wait times. Plus, my eyes had so much to feast upon while I waited. They also have a little shopping nook where you could buy these really cool, funky, and unique pieces. Needless to say, I was blown away. Price points are GREAT by the way. It gave off the impression of a healthier, cleaner ingredient cinnamon roll, but still very sweet and flavorful. Normally cinnamon rolls hurt my stomach, but this one was very easy on my stomach and my friends agreed. I believe this cost $8. I ordered a plain house matcha with almond milk, and the almond milk was a $1 up charge. I wanted to add a flavor, but that was also a $1 up charge, so I kept it plain with the almond milk. This ran me $8. The menu says the house matcha comes pre-sweetened, but I did not think it was very sweet. I'd give it a 7/10. My other friend ordered the iced pistachio matcha with oat milk, and I liked hers more than mine. It was very nutty and creamy and the perfect mix of matcha and oat milk and pistachio. The cup was rimmed with pistachio butter and was overall a 10/10 and cost close to $10. There was a small parking lot dedicated for Dr. Drips and I believe the nearby businesses, and it was easy to navigate. I tried the americano-- decaf which I was so happy to have offered)-- and added peppermint cold foam for a seasonal touch. The cold foam tasted nice and refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness, but the americano itself wasn't my favorite as it tasted slightly sour to me. It's encourages conversations, hang outs, and even has a pool table for a fun night! They're expecting to be open late, which is perfect given the proximity to Lake Ivanhoe night life. I ordered an iced oat milk Matcha with macadamia cold foam and it was absolutely outstanding. The Customer Service really is what drew me in and I will be back for it. Really fun place! The whole branding and aesthetic of this place makes it worth it. Gives us very mismatched dive bar mcm meets retro futurism space age. Almost on the line of fallout vibes. Super cute little spot in the back where they have jazz bands every other Saturday apparently and also karaoke every Friday. The barista told us they also play movies some nights moving forward. Really excited to come and visit during the night. So cool that they are open until midnight. All the drinks coming out looked so good! I'm not a huge caffeine drinker but would see next time if they could make anything decaf for me to try. My friends got a plain matcha and the pistachio matcha. The plain one was around $8 for the small size and she said it was kind of plain, boring, and not very sweet. Nothing really special to make it that much. My other friend loved her pistachio flavored matcha and said it was very nutty and that the taste compliments the matcha flavor profile really well. She also said it was just sweet enough but not overpowering. I got the cinnamon roll which we all tried and loved. The mouth feel of the gritty cinnamon sauce was actually really tasty and fun. I personally wish there was a little more icing and cinnamon on them but that's just me. They were really fluffy and the dough was so soft and bouncy not dense at all. Definitely a treat to share with others. With tax came almost to $10 though which I think is a little much for this. It really tasted like an organic and better ingredient cinnabon. Staff was all super nice and informative. Vibe was great during the day and I'm sure better even at night. Even have us some free matchbooks.
