I have a complicated relationship with First Watch. It's kind of like that actor who's been incredible in some movies and absolutely unbearable in others. I've had experiences at certain First Watch franchise locations that left me questioning not only the meal, but several of my life choices leading up to it. So when I walked into this location in the Fern Park/Casselberry (Altamonte Springs) area, I'll admit it... I came in cautiously optimistic at best. Thankfully, this visit reminded me why the chain became popular in the first place. Right away, the staff stood out for being personable and genuinely pleasant. Not the robotic "corporate friendly" where someone smiles while dead behind the eyes. Actual warm, attentive service that made the place feel welcoming. And here's something restaurant owners should probably frame on the wall because it's becoming weirdly rare these days: the food was cooked correctly and served hot. Hot. As in actually warm when it hit the table and not sitting under a heat lamp long enough to qualify for Social Security. I ordered the omelette, and it absolutely hit the spot. Comfort food done properly. Fluffy, flavorful, filling, and exactly what I wanted breakfast to be. My daughter ordered the steak and egg hash, and visually... let's just say this isn't a dish entering any beauty pageants. It kind of arrives looking like breakfast got into a small argument with itself. But one bite in and none of that mattered. It was rich, hearty, luscious, and cooked just right. The kind of dish where every bite feels indulgent enough that you briefly stop caring about cholesterol or responsibility. This location honestly felt dialed in. The kitchen was on point, the service was strong, and the overall experience reminded me that consistency is what separates a good restaurant visit from a forgettable one. Because of my mixed history with First Watch overall, I can't quite bring myself to throw five stars into the air like confetti... but this particular location absolutely earned four stars and deserves credit for getting it right. read more

4.5 Stars Overall. 5 Service, 4.25 Food, 4.5 Ambiance, 3.0 Entering from and Exiting to SR 436 First Watch and their refresh has pleasantly surprised me, and as a result, stays on the "where can we go" options list when I meet others for breakfast. At this location when we recently met friends here, the best part of our visit was Vivian, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and open to food options not on the menu. Specifically, one in our party asked for a side of quinoa, if possible, since this gluten-free food was not under the Sides menu. Vivian checked in back and happily delivered a small bowl of fresh quinoa. Secret menu item? I don't think so, but Vivian asked and made it happen! My wife and I ordered the Salmon with sautéed vegetables Frittata and the salad, and I chose the artisan bread. The frittatas were cooked just right and the sautéed veggies enhanced the Sockeye salmon, flavor-wise. The artisan bread was fresh and the slightly melted butter was just right. I also ordered the "Sunrise Project" coffee which comes in a carafe - I'm a big fan. Our table's orders arrived in a reasonable amount of time, accurately, and at the right temperature. Vivian kept us taken care of during our meal and with a genuine cheery attitude. The interior is bright, modern, and open up to the roof. The plentiful seating is a combination of tables and booths. Located separately was a juice and coffee bar. MISC East Altamonte Drive (SR 436) can be a challenge at times to enter into the parking lot and exit back on it. But don't let it stop you from enjoying this place. read more

I'm not a fan of many chain restaurants, but First Watch is definitely on the short list. This was my second time at the Altamonte location and I decided to treat myself to brunch, so I sat at the bar. Lately, I've been a fan of the chimichurri steak and eggs hash on the seasonal menu, so I was ready for round 3! I love their juices, and the Pineapple Express (also on the seasonal menu) is quite refreshing. The service is always on point and gotta love a good casual dining experience. What a treat!!! This was my first time at this location and it was the best experience I've ever had at any First Watch. The staff was so friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. So, I had the oatmeal, fruits and a watermelon wake-up. I didn't eat the muffin pictured. I took that home for my son. Nothing overwhelmingly exciting about oatmeal and fruits but it was good. The watermelon wake-up was refreshing. Two people in our party had lunch instead and they both enjoyed the soup and sandwich they ordered. My other companion had plain french toast and potatoes. I saw a funny gift card near the register as I was on the way out (see photo). It definitely made me smile. Thankfully, I had no food in my mouth. I would definitely visit this location again for good vibes, good food and good company. read more

came here after Sunday Morning church service. We had a decent size group of 8. We did have a reservation so there was not a long wait at all. Our waitress was quick to get our drinks and orders. EVRYTHING was amazing many of us had a simple breakfast combo with eggs , meat and bread. We enjoyed those seasonal pumpkin and chicken combos. Staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was sercved quick for as busy as they were. parking was kind of hard on a busy Sunday morning but they have a shared lot with plenty of spaces. As a fan of First Watch, I was excited to check out this location and try their Farmer's Hash--and while they didn't have the seasonal menu yet (since they're newer), the experience was still solid! Food: I went with the Farmer's Hash, which was a hearty and flavorful breakfast choice. The combination of potatoes, breakfast meats, and perfectly cooked eggs made for a great start to the day. The portion was just right--filling but not too heavy. The server did say another hash will be released soon. We were seated immediately and it wasn't long before our food was brought to the table. We ordered two 2 For You's ($12.29). One with half a sandwich and soup and the other with half a sandwich and salad. Portion sizes were appropriately priced and we finished our plates! Taking some family friends to a farewell breakfast and thought to check out the new First Watch around the corner from our home - turns out, it was their grand opening! This location meets all expectations and goes above and beyond, in my opinion. Their familiar airy and sunshiney patio greeted us with a beautiful high-ceilinged interior. The menu is the same as any other location, (breakfast, brunch, lunch & all Florida-inspired) but I can't complain about what I had today - portions are very generous! They have everything ranging from savory (my biscuits and gravy were so comforting) to sweet (the Floridian French Toast being a group favorite). The mint mocha iced coffee was also delightful and a highlight of the meal. Excited to come back and try a bunch more! With this new location being in my backyard, I know we'll be back. read more

I love the new First Watch location! It's so cute inside. We had the best late breakfast at their soft opening. I can't wait to visit again. The fresh juices are pretty to look at and taste even better. The service was ok. It seemed like our waitress didn't care much but the manager helped her pick up where it seemed careless or unknown and we were thankful (Maybe she was nervous or new to the industry) You should definitely check it out if you're in the area. Nothing beats starting the morning with a hearty breakfast, and the Farmhouse Hash at First Watch definitely delivered on flavor. The crispy seasoned potatoes, smoky bacon, and perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs made for a dish that was both comforting and satisfying. A side of fresh toast and fruit rounded it out beautifully--definitely one of those "eyes bigger than your stomach" breakfasts in the best way possible. Where the experience lost points, though, was the service. We were the very first guests seated that morning, yet three tables who arrived after us received their meals before we did. The wait took away from what otherwise could have been a flawless start to the day. For me, this visit lands at 3 out of 5 stars: food that hits the spot, but service that left me wishing for a smoother experience. This new location is so convenient! My first time dining and I was impressed with how nice the restaurant looked and felt. Lots of great patio space and a nice open interior! We always have great meals at first watch no matter what location we visit. Service is always attentive and dishes come out fresh. Came in for a Monday morning breakfast when I had some free time and wanted to check out the new neighborhood FW. Ordered a traditional egg, toast, and bacon dish was great. Really loved the potatoes which is harder to find most places now. Coffee was brought to the table and left which was a plus. Total bill for 2 came out to $50 which feels a bit pricey but portions were good and quality was better so not terrible for the prices. The service was good, as waitress was friendly, and it wasn't crowded. There's no WOW factor for me though so don't know if I would go back. I do like how you can pay at the table and it automatically will calculate the tip for you, easier than the old ways of giving your card or cash. read more

Over Easy Eggs do not mean runny white eggs. I ordered over easy eggs at your restaurant on June 2. When the dish came to the table, the egg yolk was runny as is customary but the egg whites were also runny. The waitress explained that "at our restaurant over easy means runny egg yolks and runny egg whites. Further, you had wanted only runny egg yolks, you should have ordered them over medium". This explanation is preposterous. I have never ordered eggs over easy expecting runny egg whites. Further your staff should have explained that your restaurant does not conform to what the rest of America thinks is over easy both on the menu and at the time I ordered them. If you seriously disagree, I suggest that you download this new software called "GOOGLE" and ask Google what over easy means. By the way, I did exactly that and Google agrees with me and not with you! read more

The new location in Altimonte is convenient and maintains open atmosphere. I'm here prior to lunch crowd a there was confusion as to which server would take my order. Then, although trying, the server seemed rushed. The food was good (salmon Benedict). The lemon for my water never came. read more

I have been going to First Watch for over 20 years. The food is consistently good, but I go less often because the prices have gone up. I took my grandsons to the Altamonte store on Monday. One of them asked if he could replace the potatoes with a waffle. The waitress said there would be an up charge. I expected that, but he was charged for the full meal and then was charged $11.94 for the waffle. That's the full charge for a waffle. When I mentioned it to the manager, he made no adjustment, but said he would speak to the server about her wording. If he had taken a few dollars off, that would have been fair. He didn't and I won't be going back to that store. read more

Being a new restaurant on the block, you'd expect the experience to be top shelf, in this case we were just trying to test out the new First Watch for the first time, I won't be returning. Here's why! Sanitation and proper food handling, all servers wearing no gloves, but have their hands touching food and the on male server had his hands on the egg as he delivered the plate to the table and on top of that a big , I mean huge piece of hair that was not ours was under the egg! So they noticed a hair on the plate and still served us a hairy egg lol . We spoke with management after getting a new egg, and I asked him did they offer military discount , he said "it's not much" as a veteran who served my country I don't care if it was 1 cent off my meal i want it without the sass ! Thank me for my service and keep it moving , all that extra Im good without especially if you didn't serve just show respect and keep it moving. You can tell attention to detail isn't their strong suit here, as we had to return the silverware originally set with the table for food residue on it . The server we had was cool and informative I forgot her name . It did look nice for a new setup (the restaurant ),but I'm sure they aren't practicing cleanliness and aren't double checking the food before it's served which is vital. Germs do exist. read more
