The hollandaise sauce was great, and the potatoes are very crispy with a hint of chard. My partner keeps raving his coffee drink throughout the trip, and I ordered a regular tea. Wow! What a cool and interesting place. I took my teenage daughter for a mother/daughter outing. The food was so good. My daughter got the Boston cream pancakes and they were massive. I have been craving eggs Benedict but decided to try the Al Pastor Benedict. It was so interesting and delicious. I also had an Irish coffee...bit that thing was strong! Tasty but effective! I'm not sure I could handle more than one. We will definitely be back many many times! Can't wait to explore this menu. Definitely recommend this spot. read more

Wow. You talk about Southern hospitality! I went for brunch on a weekday. I was greeted at the door and at my table immediately. My sever brought my water and I asked what was good. Since it was my first time, he said he had something special to offer me. Shortly after, the manager introduced herself and brought me beignets. She explained how long they've been around and that their's are more biscuit like. I had one and it was delicious. She also gave me a mason jar as a token of appreciation and said she'd return with something else for me! I ordered the salmon bagel and it was, sadly to say, just ok. The bagel was thick for the amount of salmon and the poached egg was way over done. They apologized and brought my above mentioned surprise which was a sealed envelope with a gift card not to be opened until my next visit! The waiter asked if I wanted an iced coffee to go and I accepted thinking it was comped for the poached egg. It wasn't and my bill was $24 with tax and tip. Tad pricey for me but the coffee and hospitality were about the best I ever experienced. read more

Still Love this place and it's my favorite breakfast spot in Lafayette. Either the owner took a long time to decide on how to decorate or got sick of me complaining about the bare white walls (it used to have a New Orleans theme), but the new decor is up! The place now has a new vibe with lots more character and pictures of scenes around the Lafayette area, sweet! The rest of my old reviews still hold and the only complaints I could muster up on this place is that it does get really busy so use the Yelp waitlist and that I wish they would bring back the Steak and eggs! It would take me traveling to Lafayette, La to finally have the opportunity to eat at Another Broken Egg Cafe. It has been on my breakfast list for some time now. Unfortunately, with so many breakfast and brunch options in Dallas. I never made it the restaurant until now. We arrived at a really good time with no wait and was immediately seated. Our sever was very attentive and the overall staff was nice. We took some time to review the menu and placed our order. The biscuit beignets were very warm and slightly dense. The honey marmalade adds an extra touch of sweetness that makes it perfect. The Strawberry Pound Cake French toast was okay. I wasn't very found of the texture and found it difficult for me to eat. I'm sure others will enjoy it. The city grits were creamy and could have been a meal on its own. The toppings mixed in gives it a savory taste that's needed after sweet items. The spiked cold brews were very good. I initially had the vanilla cold brew, but switched for pumpkin. It was so much better. My boyfriend ate his Mardi Gras before I could sample it. :( He doesn't like to share. LOL! Overall, I had wonderful experience and my food was great. Full disclosure-I stopped here mostly for a Bloody Mary. Or three. Maybe five, even. The menu looked tempting so I decided to order breakfast to go alongside my "heavy on the vodka Bloody Mary" (which is how I order every Bloody Mary..heh heh). Anyway, the food. We ordered an appetizer called the Baked Brie Delight that consisted of apples, raisins and pecans drowned in butter and Brie cheese served with French bread. It was very, very good. No, really. You need it. Heavenly crab cakes topped with poached eggs, hollandaise, bell pepper and green onions on an English muffin. Yes, yes, yes. My sister ordered the Southern Crabstack which I tried and was great as well. There are several vegetarian items on the menu as well as a few gluten free items. The Bloody Mary was pretty good. I must say, this is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in my 26 food-obsessed years. I had the Southern Crab Stack which truly is good enough to make you slap ya mama. To begin with, this dish is HUGE. The crab cake is mouthwatering (and I consider myself a crab cake connoisseur). It is piled atop an equaling enormous grit cake and then doused in amazingly rich and buttery shrimp and andouille cream sauce. And I can't forget the 4 buttery slices of French bread surrounding this tower of heavenly goodness. W-O-W! The restaurant itself is also very nice. After 25 minutes, I went inside and checked in on the reservation, they said they had put us down for inside even though they saw we had a dog. When I explained we were driving cross country because someone had just died, they continued to be rude and did not apologize for their mistake. We are big fans of another broken egg. The quality and service is always wonderful, worth the price, and wait. However, todays experience was not the case. We ordered with Uber Eats. Our food was exceptionally cold, colder than normally delivered food. The hash brown Benedict was burnt, had 2 pieces of ham in one of the croquettes and none in the other, and the egg white was not completely poached in the other. I have been to this establishment twice. Will never go again. The first time four of us went for breakfast. I was told that it was a 45 minute wait. After 60 minutes, and seeing other seated that before us I inquired as to when we would be seated. Another 20 minutes later, we were seated. The second time I went, my daughter and I were on the waitlist. Upon arriving, I was told that we were number six. After waiting for the 45 minutes that we were told, and noticing other parties being seated before us, I inquired again. I was again told we were number six. It wasn't until I said it was absolutely unacceptable, that we were finally seated. It seems that certain people receive preferential treatment. I can honestly say the food and the wait staff were outstanding. But the front of the house needs to learn how to manage seating and how to be more customer centric. read more

During spring break after a brief meeting with immigration in New Orleans my friends and I tried this place and were not disappointed nor was I with the Lafayette location. Huge variety on the menu and the coffee is great. You will not leave here hungry. There are seasonal Specials as well. I opted for the chicken biscuit and went a little out of my comfort zone with a hard fried egg. I normally eat scrambled. The white gravy was delicious as was the chicken. Interesting shopping center location. These guys cater to groups of 6 with alacrity. Many tables for 4 and up. There is an outdoor patio for people wary of covid or who have canine dining companions. I've visited a couple of their locations. The one in New Orleans, on Harrison (top notch), and the one in Lafayette. The one in Lafayette, I think falls short due to staffing woes. As a result, the kitchen struggles to keep up with the demand. This leads to over cooked food. My sausage was cooked within seconds of outright burnt status and the eggs I requested be lightly scrambled, were rubbery and just barely warm; which tells me they were pre-cooked and kept in warmers. The city grits was superb, however. Our waitress, Faith was great. She kept a smile on, even though she was managing quite a few tables; some with large parties. Kudos to Faith! read more
