My friends and I had a very disappointing experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville. When we first arrived, we were seated at an outside table that had ants all over it, which was especially concerning because my friend is allergic to ants. We asked if we could be moved inside, but instead of trying to accommodate us or prioritize us for an inside table since we had booked in advance, we were told we would have to wait another 25-30 minutes. Rather than waiting all over again, we stayed outside. We even had to ask for hot water to try to kill the ants ourselves, and no one offered to help resolve the issue. Things became even worse when my friend tried to scoot her chair back to go to the bathroom. The bottom of the chair leg/heel broke because it was rusted, causing her to nearly fall backward and hit the table behind her. We asked to speak with the manager, Ashley. When my friend attempted to complete an incident report, she was asked for her Social Security information and driver's license. Because she did not have the requested Social Security information available, she was unable to complete the report. I found that extremely concerning and confusing, especially considering she was simply trying to document an incident involving a chair at the restaurant breaking underneath her. Ashley later came back outside for my friend's information, and I was concerned when I learned she had been documented as not filing a report, even though my friend had attempted to do so. After I asked Ashley for her name and mentioned leaving a Yelp review, the situation seemed to receive more attention. Ashley eventually offered to compensate my friend's meal and provided us with gift cards, which we appreciated. However, this is not about receiving a free meal or gift cards. It's about how the situation was handled from the beginning. A customer should not have to repeatedly advocate for themselves after being seated around a potential allergen and then nearly being injured because of a rusted chair. The biggest issue was the lack of concern and urgency until after we continued pushing the matter. I hope management takes this seriously, inspects the outdoor furniture for safety, addresses the ant problem, and reviews how incidents involving customers are handled in the future. Don't get me wrong the food here was really good but I always judge a breakfast place by their coffee and the coffee here failed completely. You want your coffee to be able to grab you and give you a big kiss on the lips and say "Good Morning!!!"...not here, it was more like a peak on the cheek. I have been to this location twice now and I have sat at the bar where Jared has been quick to either take my order or at least acknowledge me and others promptly. This guy is a do everything guy and great at it. I had these delicious Blueberry lime curd pancakes. Their pancakes are just the best. While visiting my friend a few weeks ago, we treated ourselves to a nice little breakfast one morning at Another Broken Egg and it was wonderful! Our server was super friendly and the food was incredible. I was so happy with the lemon blueberry & goat cheese pancake. Seriously, it is incredible to know how well those flavors go together. Sweet and savory at the same time. The scrambled egg was fluffy and with the added cheese, it was a perfect way to start the day. My friend's meal was also incredible, it was a croissant Benedict and had so many wonderful flavors to enjoy and the side of potatoes was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Some friends that were staying with us with wanted to meet up with another friend that lives in Jax so we chose Another Broken Egg to meet up at, on Sunday at 10am. Geez. We didn't get enough sleep the night before so we were dragging ourselves to get over there in time. Luckily the one friend got there first and reserved a table for us near the bar for 6. They were so busy this morning and we had several servers over the course of a few hours as we were told that they weren't busy enough and sent some home. Been there, done that. As soon as they get sent home it gets busy...EVERY.TIME. I got coffee which was always good and for my entree I got the Monterey Power Bowl (Egg white omelets with chicken, onions, green chilies and tomatoes. Topped with guajillo sauce, Jack cheese and avocado. Side of sour cream. Served with an English muffin and fresh seasonal fruit). It was good but I struggled to finish it, probably because I was still tired and my meds. It's probably better to go closer to closing time when there isn't as many people. read more

We had a great breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe on Atlantic Blvd while waiting on our car service. I ordered the chorizo and bacon omelette with a side of bourbon street pancakes. The omelette was meaty and cheesy from the first bite to the last and the cream cheese inside really took it to another level. My wife had the southwest scrambler. It was good but not quite as memorable. She ended up using the tortillas to make breakfast tacos and said next time she would absolutely order my omelette instead. What really made the visit stand out was our server Bailey. She was friendly knowledgeable and genuinely attentive. Every recommendation she made was spot on and our coffee cups were never empty. She had the perfect sense of timing and presence always there when we needed something without interrupting our conversation or the relaxed vibe. I was especially impressed watching her handle a more challenging guest with real patience and care. The manager was also making rounds welcoming guests and checking in which added to the overall positive experience. This is my second time eating at this location. It was worse than the first time which was bad. My friend wanted to go there so I went along with her. She had the scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and grits. She liked hers. I had the chicken salad sandwich with fruit. The sandwich had been put in a pan with a lot of butter on the outside and grilled like a grilled cheese sandwich with the chicken salad inside. It was horrible and greasy. Ashley the host girl is amazing and have had the same waitress both times a brunette chick she's amazing to as well. I've actually frequented this place and can't believe I've never given it a review?!?! The service is always awesome. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The management comes out to make sure everything is fine. They've been helpful in food/drink suggestions, they have served big parties and small and they make every visit enjoyable. Even when we had children in the mix, they were always so sweet to the kids and never made anyone feel like it was a burden (crazy kids and workout warriors alike). I love trying the seasonal stuff, but the regular items on the menu are just as delectable. City grits - yum! Mimosas - yum! Lemon blueberry pancakes - yum! Bennies, bowls, and omelets - yum! I think I've tried half the menu, if not all, already. Haha (told you I've frequented it.) But, seriously. Food is delicious. Employees are great. Service is speedy and efficient. I think I'd only been to Another Broken Egg Cafe once or twice in other states before trying this location. My parents like this place and they love the biscuit beignets. So when mom was in town, I made my way over here to grab breakfast. We ordered an early meal for pickup . We got the chicken and waffles, Mardi Gras omelette, big easy scrambler, and a single bourbon street pancake. The food was solid. So much so that we ordered again a short time later. This time we got the southwest scrambler, more bourbon street pancakes, and a few sides. The pancakes and egg dishes here are pretty good and definitely better than the fried chicken strips that came with the waffle. The customer service is good as well but as everywhere, things can get missed. The last time I went they forgot the salsa and guacamole for the southwest scrambler, which was a little disappointing. I did appreciate that they put everything on the side for to-go orders so the pancakes and waffles didn't get soggy. I'm sure I'll find myself back at Another Broken Egg Cafe at some point in the near future. read more

This place is great the couple times I've went there for some quick brunch ! My only bad experience was when my partner was sitting outside that it took quite a while for us to be attended even though the waitress was walking outside attended other tables and it was our table and another that didn't get attended to for 20-30 mins. As well the waitress messed up my partner's coffee as it did have alcohol when she request no alcohol since she had to go to work that same day. read more
