I recently tried this place on my short trip to Jacksonville and was very glad it was on the way to my hotel in Jax beach. They offer a variety of different biscuits with chicken and other proteins and also have a pretty robust menu with other options. I was impressed immediately with the service as I explained it was my first time visiting and they staff went out of their way to make recommendations! The acoustics make conversation difficult. Vicious Biscuit - jalapeno biscuit - Thick, pasty. Chicken - good crisp and not dry. Gravy - lacked seasoning and didnt have any maple drizzle:-( Fried Green 'Mater - thick cut and just the right amount of fry on them so they aren't squishy. Breading was light and well-balanced. The shredded pimento cheese spread was top-notch. It was creamy, rich, and flavorful. It sets this side apart from the others. They also have full-size pickled okra that rocks. Chai latte - thin, light, refreshing with an cinnamon accent, borders on a horchata, then the chai pops up. My son has been a regular here while stationed at Naval Station Mayport. When he received orders across the country, you can imagine how he felt when he came home on leave and was allowed to return here for the food. I haven't been here, so it was quite the experience. Walking in, I see a giant banner with an appealing combination. I found myself in competition with myself after reviewing the menu. I opted for the advertised combo. My son and I had a seat and awaited our orders. I indulged in the compound butter bar. The Bloody Mary was on point. Our meals came out and looked quite pleasant. You order at the counter and grab a number. They bring your food to you. It seems like the day it before you're even seated. Seriously, I got coffee, sat down and our food came out. The biscuits here, on their own, rival any biscuits you'll have. Warm, soft, perfect texture, immaculate flavor. Everything else matches in quality as well. The coffee was bold and fresh, the gravy, the sausage, the chicken all impeccable. They nailed the beignets as well. Just delicious, perfectly accompanied by the strawberries and cream. Glad this place is so far from our home, otherwise we would eat here way too often. Easy ordering at the counter using the boards above or individual menus. Love their regular coffee, just really good. Also love that you self serve both water and drip coffee, makes refills easy. My Animal Farm breakfast sandwich was yummy, I ate it open faced and enjoyed the biscuit too with some flavored butter and jam from the Jam bar.the viscous candied bacon is thick and delicious, complimenting the scrambled eggs, white cheddar, and biscuit perfectly. We need to fuel up this weekend before heading off for errands, so we decided to give the Vicious Biscuit a try. It is an order at the counter place, so you may want to check out the menu before arriving. (Wish I had.) They have a nice variety of options, but I felt a bit pressured at the register. The food came out to our table with little delay and was hot. I played it safe with the Animal Farm while my adventurous Babe selected the (pictured) Sea Biscuit. She raved about the great flavors in hers and while mine was a bit minimalistic it definitely got the job done. Feeling "brunchy" we ordered the Mimosa carafe. They say their orange juice is fresh squeezed so we're not sure what happened, but it had an off-putting taste. When it comes to day-drinking no one dares to call us quitters, but we left behind a half full carafe. The overall vibe inside is very casual and comfortable. Our first time here while visiting Jax and this is a promise... we will come back here every time we are in the area! Of course it's a biscuit place so the biscuits are phenomenal! I would like to start off by saying 3 stars is average. I would honestly give it 3.5 stars if I could. The best thing out of the three good items we ordered was the shrimp and grits. I've tried Vicious Biscuit once before when they first opened and had a "meh" experience. But today, all of my family's dishes were firing on all cylinders. The biscuits were better than I remembered - fluffy in the middle with a salty butter crust. The thick cut bacon rivals every breakfast place in a 1/2 mile radius, no contest. In fact, I mixed the Melinda's garlic hot sauce from the jam bar area into my perfectly creamy stone ground grits and created my new favorite brunch side dish. While the line to order moved quickly, it took about 45 minutes for our food to come out, which is significantly longer than expected for counter service. I had fresh squeezed orange juice which was tasty but I had finished by the time my food came out. My husband and I frequently come here for breakfast. We get the Milehigh omelette and egg white omelette and we learned today about the rewards and the gentleman helping me at the counter had told me about your new reward system so I did it after I had ordered well then later I was trying to put my rewards in when I downloaded the app and a young lady named Ray was so helpful and I just feel that she is an outstanding employee. We drove over to Vicious Biscuit after reviewing the recent Yelp reviews and responses by the business only to discover the recent review and response by the Business Manager, Amanda, was false. The woman helping us at the counter let us know she's worked for the location for 5 years and they have never had vegan biscuits or many vegan options besides oatmeal. I rely on Yelp reviews to help make decisions when out to ensure a positive experience and less stressful situation. The location has ample parking, friendly staff, and appears very clean. While they do attempt to cater to "normal" breakfast foods (Waffles, Eggs with bacon, Huevos Ranceros, etc.) the specialty is a killer menu of biscuit central items. We opted for the Crab Benny (buiscuit, crabcake, fried green tomato, egg with hollandaise), Nashville Hot Chicken (Cheddar jalapeno biscuit, Fried Chicken with hot sauce, honey mustard and thick cut chips and my choice, the Flame Thrower (Cheddar jalapeno biscuit, Fried Chicken tossed in Frank's Red Hot, white cheddar, skully sauce and candied bacon). We got in line and within minutes were placing our orders. I ordered a bloody Mary and the Gravy Train. My meal included one buttermilk biscuit topped with maple sausage gravy plus chives. They did not skimp on the gravy, which was deliscious! My bloody mary came with an olive, a piece of okra and a huge slice of bacon. I also ordered a side of fruit which was fresh and sweet. We all enjoyed our meals, and we were stuffed for hours! I typically eat a smaller breakfast and bigger dinner. But on this day it was quite the opposite. The service was great and our food came out pretty quickly. I loved the butter and jam bar. So many yummy options to go with the biscuit. Large portions of really tasty food. The shrimp and grits biscuit was a large portion of shrimp and grits with some biscuits and country gravy underneath. I didn't have to work today so I decided to order breakfast off of Door Dash, and I''m glad I picked Vicious Biscuit. My food arrived hot and ready to eat and was packaged up nicely.  The farmhouse blew me away it was so good. It was seasoned very well and even when I started getting full I couldn't help but take another bite. I got my egg sunny side up and it was cooked perfectly. The biscuit on its own was seasoned well and was not dry at all. I got the belgian waffle and bacon. For being a kids' menu item it was still a good size. The bacon was good although I like mine to be thinner and crispier. Wasn't the lightest and fluffiest waffle I had but it still tasted very good. It really does taste like sweet potato pie and the spices really shine through in the batter.  The Vicious was also very good. chicken was a little dry and could have done with some more seasoning in the batter. This wasn't too much of a drawback as the gravy and cowboy candy more than made up in flavor. Overall I loved the food and I can't wait to actually eat in the restaurant next time! read more

I was feeling in the mood for a midday breakfast and found this place. I was planning to just get a regular breakfast place, but once I got there I knew I HAD to try one of the biscuits. It tasted amazing and the spicy honey drizzle was crazy. There's the perfect hint of hot sauce in it that makes the tastes so good. I wish I could put my finger on which hot sauce is in it so I could recreate at home. I tried it with a little honey butter and some peach habanero jam and you can't go wrong with pairing with either one or both. But this biscuit is perfect as is. I still got an order of the Old School breakfast as that's what I was in the mood for. But the biscuit was definitely the star of the show. The potatoes were fried crispy which I didn't expect, but they ended up still being good. Bacon and eggs were solid. And the extra biscuit that came with this breakfast was good to try all the other butters and jams they have. All the butters were good. The peach habanero and blueberry ghost pepper jams were my favorites. The apple pie somehow tastes exactly like apple pie. Don't know what I'd want to use it for but that kind of surprised me. To out surprise, Vicious Biscuit popped up in our most frequently used delivery app so we took advantage of the opportunity. He got the Shrimp & Grits (buttermilk biscuit, blackened shrimp, country gravy, white cheddar stone-ground grits, thick-cut bacon crumbles, chives) while I got the Silence of the Hams (buttermilk biscuit, smoked ham, white cheddar cheese, egg). We received it in a little over an hour and dug in. I wasn't expecting my ham, egg, and cheese sando to be so thick! The biscuit was moist and crumbly and whoever did my over hard egg, kudos to you. It was perfect. I did wish that there was a little more cheese on it but that's just me being greedy. I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit and I of course added the Low Country Gravy and Ashley got their namesake, The Vicious. Once I walked it I grabbed my food and OMG they have a jelly and butter bar. This is a game changer people so make sure to load up on all the good stuff they got. The Vicious comes loaded with cheddar & jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken breast, signature maple sausage gravy, house cowboy candy, and a maple syrup drizzle. Bascially everything a loaded biscuit needs. Great juicy chicken too. The Nashville Hot ChickenBiscuit comes with Cheddar & jalapeño biscuit, crispy chicken breast tossed in Nashville hot sauce, and topped with honey mustard and thick-cut pickle chips. The Nashville Hot had kick to it but wasn't overly spicy just good flavor. Now the Low Country Gravy was a flavor bomb for sure. You gotta go this one over their other gravy. We will for sure be coming back but I want to eat in next time. Togo loaded biscuits still taste very good but you can't get a good picture and what you do get doesn't do it justice.
