Came in early on a Friday for happy hour & was easily able to find a parking spot (they also have free valet). We opted to sit by the bar since there were a couple of open spots. The place is EXTREMELY loud, we couldn't hear anything the bartender was saying when she was trying to tell us the happy hour items (and they do not have a happy hour menu you can just read off of) so we ended up ordering full price drinks and food. The couple next to us said the same thing about not able to hear anything as well. Drinks were okay and honestly not worth the full price. We got mojito (tasted mostly just alcohol and not the refreshing flavor that mojitos usually are) and margarita (extremely average and nothing special about it). We also ordered soke tacos - they have a whole vegan section which was amazing. Banging tempeh taco was flavorful and really good. Blacken shrimp tacos were also delicious with lots of flavor. Overall we would come back for a quick bite but would not recommend coming if you want to have any type of conversation while eating or if you want to get a good cocktail.
This place is amazing. From the moment you walk in, you're warmly greeted and we had the option to sit outside. The decor was cool and well maintained. Our server was awesome, friendly and accommodating. Had a stacked enchilada, which was sooo good, I did not get a chance to take a pic. Highly recommend this place if you love authentic Mexican food!!
Came here for the first time on Cinco de Mayo and it was packed of course! I like that you can see your spot in the wait line on Yelp and it updates in real time. Very nice! My boyfriend and I came for dinner that day and sat inside. Our waiter was super high energy and upbeat for the holiday. I got the carne asada and chorizo and both were yummy!! The guac is also delicious here. We also ordered margs and those were good too. They have their own tequila brand here. I came a second time with friends and ordered the same thing and both times was great service and food. Love this spot!
Everything, everywhere.. TacoLu! I don't think you could ever go wrong with the chips and salsa on the table and an ice cold drink there. I ordered the $10 and it was great. The fish mango one was so yummy as well. I've had before in the past the Mexican corn nachos and added chicken and that's my all-time favorite thing there! Oh yeah.. the sangria there is my absolute favorite! I love eating on the patio because the vibe is just so chill and decorated so cute! My only regret is not buying two of the snapback hats they had! They were really cute and fit perfectly!
First of all, greeted well upon entrance. We all had a nice corner dine-in spot. The place feels Like you are in Mexico somewhere. Very authentic decor and atmosphere. My first time here and it's not gonna be my last. I ordered the bangin shrimp and carne asada tacos. Plus my sides of Mexican street corn and cheese dip with chips. All are delicious. Try it and you'll like it alot. I will be back for more deliciousness!
In on a Tuesday- no Taco Tuesday specials but wonderful spot. Place was hopping - nice crowd and friendly staff. Cool lobby entrance with the tshirts and stuff. Parking can be tough but they offer free Valet. Went on wait list but you can check status using YELP which was good. Wait wasn't bad. Seated and promptly had waiter over to take drink orders and answer questions. Fun atmosphere, yummy chips and salsa plus we ordered some Guacamole - tacos were great had cheeseburger, Jimbo, and pork Verde. All Yummy and good portion
My family and I have been coming to Tacolu for years. It is a favorite to take our out of town guests and to celebrate people. The atmosphere is always so welcoming. There is free valet parking and a dinner self parking spots. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We usually choose to eat indoors but when the weather is good the outdoor seating is wonderful! I find the bar area too loud compared to the rest of the indoor seat, but would never pass a table up if it was offered. They are closed on Mondays and some days wait times can be extra long. We try to time it out so we are going in-between the typical meal times - that is usually when we have had the best experiences. Our last visit was Sunday and we arrived around 4:30. We like to call this time Linner. We were sat in less than 10 mins while they arranged tables for us. We had 11 people and separate checks. We were celebrating my niece's sweet 16. We did not announce it as she would hate the attention so we did not take advantage of the dessert they usually offer. Our waiter, Michael W, was AMAZING! He was attentive but did not hover. He was observent and kept our drinks and chips filled. We ordered a several different items from the menu but the favorites was the queso and the $10 tacos. They offer several gluten free options. Everything was tasty and made to our preference or allergy needs. We even placed a take away order so we could enjoy it all again later.
We love Taco Lu, the food is reliably good and the atmosphere is fun. If you really want to have fun, download the ghost finding app . We went in today for a quick lunch on a busy holiday weekend and were seated fairly quickly and our server Grace took great care of us. I let her know early on that I can't handle spice and she let me know of anything I asked about that could potentially be spicy. She didn't mention the street corn but took the initiative to have all the toppings on the side to ensure I didn't encounter spice there. Grace is awesome, I recommend asking for her if you go there

I love Mexican food and could eat it every day! My daughter and son/in-law suggested we try this place on our recent visit to Jacksonville. We went on a Friday night and it was quite busy. We lucked out finding a good parking spot; but had a 20 minute wait. We had anticipated this and went to the bar; only to find it was equally busy! We had to put in some effort to get a spot at the bar and order drinks. The prices seemed very reasonable: a Corona Light was just $3.75, a TacoLu Margarita was only $9, and an Aperol Skinny was $10. After about 15 minutes our table was ready and we were seated on the patio. It was cute and festive as well. Our server, Avery, came over immediately and brought us some fresh chips and salsa.....yum! We all decided on tacos à la carte which were all around $4 or $5. There were a few more pricier options and there were so many different choices made with chicken, beef, pork, seafoods and there were even vegan options. My daughter and I both had one carne asada and one Deb's Verde, (chicken with a light verde sauce.). Both were small flour tacos but both varieties were piled high with meat. I liked both of them very much. My husband had one carnitas taco, one Baja Fish taco, and one Taco Rosa. He said the carnitas one was good, the Taco Rosa, which was ahi tuna, was unique, and the Baja Fish, which was fried fish, was awesome. Overall our service was really good and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The prices were very favorable so we'll probably visit again the next time we're in Jacksonville Beach.
It was our first time at TacoLu and we enjoyed our overall visit! Our server, Captain Queso, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and even made some recommendations. The place is huge with plenty of tables indoor and outdoor. We started with Margarita and Bloody Mary, my husband and I both like our drinks. The tacos were amazing! I got the $10 taco, bangin' shrimp and black & Bleu. Highly recommend the black & blue! I also got to taste my husband's order (we always share!) which were carnitas, brisket and carne asada. All were delicious! We will come back and try their brunch menu next time!
I miss this place so much. Why is Jacksonville so far away from me? A four hour drive for dinner is just not feasible monthly. Ugh. Our server was fun and such a beach bum. Please take that as a compliment. As a beach lover, his demeanor and banter with us was appreciated and welcomed. Food and drinks were great. My son and friend even went out of their comfort zones and were glad they did. We all enjoyed our dinner after a day of travel to Duuuval. 11.04.2026
The BEST place for tacos in Jax. Tacolu consistently serves exceptional food in a unique, festive environment. Service tends to be quick, and it's impossible to order wrong when everything is exceptional. The menu even has a designated vegan section full of amazing options. Ask for the house habanero salsa if you like a kick - it's nice and hot with a citrus flavor profile.

This place was amazing! After years of driving by and wondering why are all those people waiting outside the restaurant, I finally understand! We came for a quick impromptu Taco Tuesday date night, as we were trying to eat at another restaurant near that had a long wait time. We were quoted 20 minutes to be seated when we arrived but were pleasantly surprised when we got the text that our table was ready only after 5 minutes of waiting. The waitress was friendly, and helpful with the menu with us as first timers. Chips, salsa and queso all came out super quick! Better than that, our food came out quick as well! And the food was amazing!!!! I had three tacos ( Blackened Mahi, Blackened Shrimp, & Filet Mignon) that blew my mind. I have been thinking about these tacos ever since I had them, trying to plan my next visit. The margaritas are great as well, not watered down like a lot of these other Mexican spots! Been a long time since I've been in tacolu Saw a segment on TV and thought I should try it again. Good selection on the menu. Lots to choose from. Cole the waiter was very helpful. Drink menu was very helpful also Decided on the house margarita and the Rojas which are the brisket stacked enchiladas. Had it with a side of Mexican street corn. Candyce had the build your own quesodilla. Both were very stuffed. And very tasty. Very noisy inside and very lively We'll probably be back. read more

Loved everything I had here!! So pretty to come with friends definitely want to come for the brunch happy hour. Got the carne royale, carnitas, and cheeseburger taco and they were all great. Also got the blackberry margarita which was great!! read more
Delicious tacos that veer just enough off the traditional path to be interesting without getting crazy. Built on flavor, not trends. The rest of the menu is stellar, too, including a fun variety of tequila based cocktails. The young, friendly service staff know the menu and make sure you've always got what you need. Decor is colorful, rustic and makes every meal feel like an event. Look for the milagro charms embedded in the tabletops. Valet parking only, but it's fast and efficient - and free. read more
TacoLu is definitely a must try spot, even just to say you've been. My nachos were HUGE and absolutely bursting with flavor. The tacos were à la carte but decent in size. The chips, salsa and guacamole were pretty tasty as well. Of course, the drinks are always what get me in a review. They were nice and tasty with a big punch. Our server was fantastic. Very sweet and very knowledgeable. I thought it was hilarious they brought my 9 month old a kids menu and crayons lol. I enjoyed that they offer indoor and outdoor seating options. Indoor was nice and cool and the outdoor seating was shaded. The overall ambiance was nice. read more

One of my favorite places ever in jax! The food is always amazing and it's so crave able. I love the vibes with all the tequila bottles as decoration. We highly recommend this place. Stopped in for the first time because we were visiting Jacksonville Beach area. Had amazing Tacos! The chips and salsa were really good and the queso!! We sat in the bar area and our waiter was Henry...he was THE BEST!!! If you are in the area this is the place to go! read more

Probably the best tacos in jax Consistency very very good and reasonable process. $2.50 draft Dos Equis happy hour was nice. This place rivals any spot in jax and the bar area has great energy and every cool bartender in jax seems to have rolled through this place at some point. read more

This is my go to Mexican/seafood/cocktails and Keylime pie! I always start with the Mexican corn nachos which are out of this world! The place is always hopping and it's obvious why. The large menu with so many selections makes it so hard to pick. The $10 taco is made with tenderloin beef but I always opt for that with scallops, mahi-mahi and shrimp tacos. The cocktails are crafted with care and the right amount of alcohol. I only need one! Staff is super helpful and friendly and they always leave wanting more read more
It's been a while since I have dined here, but was out to dinner here with my daughter, one of her favorite places since college. I never understood why they had valet service, and we always just opt to park ourselves in the connected strip mall lot and walk over. We were able to be seated immediately which was great for dinner on a Saturday. The inside tables for two are really close together and a bit cramped, making it feel a bit awkward with the people on either side of you. I was not a fan of their salsa that came with chips, it had a strong floral flavor, I'm guessing from too much cilantro, but I couldn't eat it. Luckily, we had ordered nachos and used some chips with that. My tacos were delicious, the wilted spinach on the perfectly cooked salmon taco was yummy and I loved the pineapple salsa on my pork taco. Overall, enjoyed our meal. read more
Lunch today - was up in JAX Beach area found TacoLu. Yep free valet parking was easy. Walked in and seated right away. Waiter (Tristan) was very helpful reviewing the menu and made suggestions. I had the Debs Verde a chicken taco the chicken was excellent. Also had Cheeseburger taco yep think of a cheeseburger on a flour tortilla. For a side rice. Wife had a Carnitas taco and a Carne Asada taco with a side salad. Everything was delicious and service was great. read more

The Bangin' Shrimp Taco, Bangin' Dilla quesadilla, and Mexican Street Corn all hit the spot with crave-worthy flavor. Service is always friendly and reliable. The dining area is compact but fits the theme. Final take: A reliable favorite for creative tacos and big flavor. Definitely worth repeat visits. read more

We always love Tacolu! Hadn't been for brunch in a while so we had to go for my husband's birthday! We had an assortment of their breakfast tacos- the Don patrol taco, the magic juan taco, BECheeseburger taco, and egg & tots tacos for the kids. The brunch tacos are full of flavor and very creative. They are great size and have plenty of filling. We also enjoyed mimosas and bloody Maria's (with tequila instead of vodka). Service was pretty good- our server was busy with most of the bar area seating but mostly on top of it read more
You can't beat the outdoor seating, quick and friendly service and the delicious tacos, queso and tequila! For $35 we got a large queso and chips, waters & a soda and 4 tacos! It was so delicious; so fast, and so filling! I was on lunch break so I couldn't have a margarita this visit! Definitely a lunch and dinner favorite spot! read more
Friendly service, from the valets to the waitress. The food was delicious, especially the Mexican street corn. (I ate more than I intended!) I wish the restaurant installed some sound damping panels so conversation is easier. Screened outdoor seating might be another good option to allow conversation. This is definitely a popular place--with ace branding. read more

We sat at the bar and had a drink. The jalapeño margarita was excellent!! Very well made and you couldn't even taste the liquor! We also had a mojito which was made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The restaurant is huge, full of vibrant decor, lots of happy gratuitous staff. We had already had dinner otherwise we would have been debating on which meal to get! read more
Great dinner as always! We come for the Sopapilla but the nachos were amazing with the Henry's queso and guacamole. Salmon taco was delicious but the fish taco was just okay. Service was excellent! Sydney was all over refills and making recommendations for our meal. We love the vibe but it's not the best place if you're looking for a quiet meal. Taco Lu is officially one of my new go-to spots as a new Jax Beach resident! I stopped by for happy hour and dinner, and everything was fantastic. The Juan Collins cocktail was super refreshing--not too sweet, just perfect. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled with all the options--they can swap tempeh for meat in most items, which is such a win. I had the cheese quesadilla with tempeh, and it was packed with flavor and incredibly satisfying. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and delicious, and the service was fast and friendly. Taco Lu is definitely staying in my regular dining rotation! read more
