Came for a late evening bite with a few friends after enjoying some time on the beach. This spot is conveniently located on 3rd St and is great for a late night meal. However, if you're searching for the city's best Mexican restaurant, you can skip it. We started out with a round of margaritas, which turned out to be your basic house marg - fine but nothing to write home about. The chips, salsa, and queso were alright as well with the queso being a bit watery for my liking. I ordered the rice bowl with grilled chicken, which while not a generic order (like tacos or enchiladas), I find this is a great way to try the restaurant's ingredients. Everything was just okay, relatively basic and a little under-seasoned. The portion was large however, and could easily be two meals. My boyfriend ordered the carnitas plate and was decently happy with it, the meat was on the dry side and the rice and beans were also average. The waitress was kind and I can't fault the service. I'm not sure if we were there too late or if this is the food standard, I'd only visit again out of convenience. read more

Absolutely the worst experience EVER. Just over to Jax beach. First Tuesday looking for some decent tacos. Ordered Birria tacos that I have had 1000 times at some of the best taco places in town. Not even close to being Birria tacos. Bartender, waitress and manager blamed ME for ordering the "wrong item". All I said was Birria tacos. Additionally, manage would not remove them from my bill....so $37 and NO TIP later, for 2 house margaritas, and chips and salsa, I escaped. Service was horrible, food was horrible (to include the tasteless salsa).....and I didn't even attempt the "tacos". No wonder their bar and tables were empty. Lesson learned. read more

Decided to stop it. I am so glad we did. The service was quick, the food was fresh and yummy. Everyone on the staff was friendly, and look like they like being where they were. The restaurant was clean, and the bathrooms looked like you could eat off the floor. I'm serious, it was that clean! The small peek that I got of the kitchen looked well organized and neat. Came here on a Thursday night and it was packed! The restaurant is colorfully decorated and the staff are very quick and efficient. My boyfriend had the Mexican Mole and I had the shredded chicken chimichanga dinner plate. We also had a side order of a small queso. The serving sizes were incredibly generous and on huge plates. Everything was hot and fresh and came out quick despite how busy the restaurant was. They also had a lot of daily deals for drinks and have an outside seating area. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for Mexican food at the beach. read more

A New Mexican spot in Neptune Beach. Located in the same plaza as Monkeys Uncle yet on the opposite corner. Huge parking lot so never short on parking. I'd say the seating inside is a bit limited compared other Mexican restaurants. Luckily there is a huge patio with tons of seating. We got here on a Friday night around 7 and the place was packed. We prob waited 20 mins before being sat. Service was ehhh. Our waiter was friendly as can be but forgot both our guacamole and sour cream!!!!!! Thankfully he took them off our checks. Luckily we also ordered queso which was the bomb. Everyday before 7pm margaritas are 2-4-1s. They are strong yet delicious. I will def be back for these. Overall our food was amazing. Delicious Mexican food, very attentive service and a great atmosphere make this a great place to dine. We always start with the queso and guacamole, the white cheese is buttery and delicious and the guacamole has the perfect amount of citrus to brighten the salt from the chips. Our daughter ordered the macaroni and cheese for the first time, usually she orders the tacos, and it was creamy and delicious. I ordered shrimp and scallops over rice and I absolutely loved that it was topped with the queso and served with guacamole salad. Pretty typical Mexican restaurant located on 3rd street in jax beach. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with typical mexican food- I'm game for mexican every day of the week. Just even though this place is "hot and new" there's nothing different compared to the other options in town. Margaritas were average (tasted pre mixed), the guac & queso were great, and the veggie quesadilla was unremarkable. Restaurant was clean, somewhat rowdy (soccer finals were on tv), bathroom was small, and waiter was adorable & attentive. Tried Que Pasa Mex today for a late lunch, and liked some things and was a little disappointed by others. The decor is lively and it seemed very clean. I arrived close to 4:00, so there were not many people there, but that was fine by me. I was quickly greeted and seated, which is a great start. My server came over pretty quickly and took my drink order. I started with a sangria and water and really liked the sangria. I had googled the menu before coming and anytime I can get huevos rancheros without meat, I am in. So I had pretty much made up my mind, but did look at the menu and will say they have a good variety of options for all taste and diets. The chips and salsa were good, though the chips needed some salt and the salsa was not very spicy. I ordered a small queso and it was more orange than I am used too. It was not my favorite queso, as it tasted like an artificial cheese product. The huevos rancheros came out along with beans and rice and while it looked delicious, it was simply just OK. The menu said fried eggs, but the eggs that I was served were basically over easy and I cannot eat that. Runny yolk ruined my meal and that was it. I was done. I did take the food to go, as I knew my son would eat it, but they should be more specific about the egg preparation. The other surprise was the meal had an upcharge of $2.00 and it said for dinner, though the menu did not mention that, or at least not that I noticed. Not such a big deal, but felt a little cheap to do that. Server was very nice, but I wondered why she did not question why I literally ate only a few bites of the food. The enchilada special was excellent, with 1 each of beef, chicken, cheese, and bean for $13. Their chips are good & light, and both the regular and habanero salsa were tasty. The shrimp el Diablo came with many large shrimp in a spicy sauce, plus Mexican rice and guacamole salad. They have tamales every day (which I plan to try next time). This was our first time at Que Pasa and it certainly will not be our last. Before I get to the food let me first thank the entire staff fo respecting their customers' health and safety. Every employee was masked and wore gloves. Whether you believe in the danger of COVID-19 or not, as a business serving the public you are setting an excellent standard of how we can get back to normalcy and continue on with our lives and I thank you. Also, a nicely spaced out outdoor seating area is ver much appreciated. The beers were cold and the chips and salsa were served and refilled before we even knew it! Our waitress was courteous, patient and highly efficient. We were very pleased with our time there. The portions we're actually a little bigger than some of the other authentic places around town. They were cooked well and nothing was over-spiced so the true flavor of the meal was able to shine through. I find it hard to believe this doesn't have better ratings! I live down the street, so it's really a nice and convenient. There's never been a wait and pitchers of margaritas are fun and affordable. That alone makes me a big fan! The atmosphere is nice and well decorated. The service has always been incredible, too. I highly recommend the fajitas, too. Perfect for sharing(especially if you get some queso before hand). I'll keep coming back as long as I live nearby. Was looking forward to this place opening after seeing all the work they had been doing and remodeling! They have a covered outside patio with several table tops and regular tables to seat about 60 people. I ordered the Pina Loco fajita with corn tortillas and it was really good! There was chicken, shrimp, scallops, cheese and small bits of pineapple with onions and peppers in it. I also ordered a House Sangria which was good. Not overpowering. It comes in a large margarita-style glass. One of my friends ordered the Chicken Tenga combination which he rated as "fair". Another friend ordered the beef chimichanga which he said was excellent. My boyfriend ordered the gringo tacos (he meant to order the Mexican). He said the gringo ones were ok...normal. Which is what a gringo taco is so... The beer comes in regular and tall sizes. The tall is 32 ounces The queso was really good (similar to most Mexican restaurants). The guacamole was decent. It was super creamy and seemed more like store bought guac. Our server, Jennifer, was awesome! She was super attentive and our food came out as we ordered and quickly. There are TVs outside which are perfect for the beach. Walked in to this restaurant for a quick bite to eat and a drink. I got the mexican style chorizo tacos and they were amazing. I've had my fair share of tacos and these were above expectations.
