Tucked away near Regency is one Mexican restaurant that should be on your bucket list for delicious Keto cheese tacos. Usually in other places the tacos are skimpy not here. Also the service is great. They immediately ask if you wanted chips and salsa and a drink. BTW there homemade salsa made me ask for extra to take home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's restaurant is airy and has a good size bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

El Cabo was the place to be that night! They're located in Arlington near Regency. We've been here more than a few times but decided to stop in again for the first time in a while. We were coming from my company work party where we had some light bites so we went in knowing we would split something. We ordered the Choriqueso with our chips. We like their salsa but we wanted to supplement it with something else since we were going to split an entree. We split the Molcajete, which was the first time either of us have ever had this. Honestly, it tastes like the photo looks: a lot of meats, cheeses, peppers and sauces all bunched together, in a good way. We both liked that part a lot but my wife loved the sides. She always says this every time we come here, but they have her favorite refried beans in all of Jacksonville. Funny side note to the meal: at one point, I *thought* I was putting a regular ol' green pepper in my tortilla but it turns out it was a jalapeño. Anyone who's ever read my reviews knows that I was NOT prepared for that. My. Mouth. Was. On. Fire. And it was on was on fire for a WHILE. To be 100% clear, this was user error and not the fault of El Cabo. Now I know that when we order this in the future, I will sit the jalapeño that's clearly on top to the side as soon as it's delievered

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came in and noon on a Saturday and there was no crowd which was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were immediately on the table. The salsa was bland to me. We also ordered the small guacamole dip and it was also lacking flavor. My coconut margarita on the other hand, was great! For my main course I ordered chicken sopes with a side of rice and beans. The sope itself was good! The toppings were lacking flavor!! This restaurant has potential, and if you like little to no seasoning then this is the place for you!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't want to give this restaurant a bad review because it was clean and had quick and friendly service[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but I do feel the food was a bit bland for my liking. We were on a road trip home and because of the other reviews pictures of the burritos and street corn, I took an adventure out of our way to try this place. Even though my California burrito was not so flavorful, I did like the fact that they give us salsa and chips right as we sat down. I also thought the queso was pretty decent and the portions were a great size. Overall, it was an average experience, but I do not think I would go out of my way again.

Tried this Mexican spot for the first time and the food completely blew us away. We started with the perfectly seasoned table-side guacamole, followed by the taco special and a massive molcajete loaded with steak, chicken, shrimp, and cactus. Even the chips and salsa were flawless. The flavors are so authentic it feels like you're on the coast of Mexico, and the generous portions give you great value for your money. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is awesome[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the menu is huge, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We will absolutely be back!

Stopped here after doing some light shopping. I started off with the blueberry pineapple margarita...OMG it was soooo good!! I wanted to try something new when it came to the food and got the carnitas... it was ok not really my thing but the onions were very flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was nice and the service was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Gotta go back and try something else!

This was a little strong for me, I didn't finish it.

The food was amazing & the portions were on point for the price. Service was fast, chips and salsa were brought immediately after we sat down.

Wonderful dinner here tonight! First time here and everything was good. Started with an "Aloha" margarita......sweet and refreshing. I had the burritos....chicken and beef. Excellent! Not very, but I'm ok with that. I'd rather have low heat and add my own, than deal with overly spicy food. The food was fresh and prepared very well. Service was outstanding! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Looks like they have live music or karaoke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great visit. Will definitely be back.

I have been saying that I was going to go here for quite some time and finally decided to stop in for lunch after the theater. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was nice and it was a nice crowd for a rainy afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers were all friendly but I ended up getting sick from the fish for two days. Probably won't go back unfortunately.

I've been here twice now. First time was at 3pm on a Tuesday with some friends. And then, again, on Friday at 11am with some family. Both times, the service was fast and friendly. It wasn't too busy, maybe just a handful of tables each time we went. Very spacious. The first time I went, I got a California steak burrito. It was huge! So, of course, I had to take the rest home. It was delicious. And that's how we ended up going back. Haha. My Aunt had some of my leftover burrito and she liked it so much that she said she wanted to go for her birthday. Hahaha so we did. It's funny, when we went back the menu was different, it was an actual book, whereas the first time I went it was just a one page front and back menu. So that threw me off a little. I was like, "Wait, what happened here?" But, it's a good thing! The book had pictures! I like seeing the food, helps me choose better. Hahaha This time, I got the Birria Tacos. Oh my goodness! SO flavorful! And I liked that the shells weren't greasy, like some other places I've tried it. It also didn't just fall apart. SO good. And because a friend suggested I try the margaritas next time I go back, I went with the Aloha Margarita. Delicious! You could taste the juice and feel the tequila - haha. So, I think it was a perfect pairing with my tacos. Thanks! For birthday dessert, we went with the sweet plantains and churros. Yessssss. Oh and the chips and salsa! You'll keep wanting to eat them. You've been warned. Hehe Let me know what y'all think when you go!

    Michael S.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She ensured that we never needed anything at our table and didn't come too often and prevent us from having a good conversation. The chips and salsa was spot on. Some places have salsa that is too chunky or too spicy, El Cabo's was delicious with just the right touch of spice. I ordered the Birria tacos and was happy did. Served with onion, cilantro, a wedge of lime , and a small bowl of consumme they really hit the spot.

Food was very good, we had the fajita lunch special. The flavors were amazing and the meat was tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great and the restaurant was nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very recommended!!

Service at the bar was great. Food arrived faster than expected, but I had also got there as their night was winding down. My friends and I were originally going to eat here for Cinco de Mayo, but when I got there at 6:45, I was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. They had a DJ outside pumping out fast and upbeat music for the party and an outside margarita stand for grab and go drinks. When I arrived back just after 9, I had told them to take us off the list. She informed me that they tried calling me. Nothing came through on my phone, but she did show her call log and sure enough, it showed they called me around 8:20. My friends and I probably would have stayed to eat here originally had we been given a more realistic wait time guesstimate. An hour and a half wait vs 3.5 hours is much more feasible. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. I've always enjoyed Anejo.

Greeted and sat right away- 5 of us. Hostess nice, server nice. Right away had two large bowls of chips and two types of salsa brought to us. Chips were good, just added salt. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. And we were patient, super patient. It was a Friday, but it was not overly crowded, like I said - seated immediately around 7:40. Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. And waited some more. Asked about the food, then waited some more. Finally, we cut our losses and asked for the check minus the food that never came. The band was starting next door and we wanted to celebrate the bday girl. Pic 1, text just after 8pm- shows me joking that I was going to eat my friends food since she was headed over from next door and taking a bit and we had ordered 10 minutes prior. Pic 2, text shows us giving up- 9pm. So over an hour wait on food that never arrived - even if busy that would be a deal breaker. We were excited to try it too- disappointed.

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back.
