La Napolera is walking distance from my sister's house, so it has become her usual when she's not in the mood to cook and after eating here I totally get it. It's a very low-key Mexican joint with good drink specials, a ton of food options, and a friendly staff. My partner and I met up with sis and her guy for a relaxed evening. We came in from out of town and they wanted to share one of their fave spots. The menu is huge, though not terribly specific, but they have all the classics. When it comes to drinks, margaritas are available in regular, top shelf, and Patron which is all the description you get. We went with tacos (shrimp and al pastor) while sis and her guy chose steak and chicken fajitas. Ordering a margarita was a whole conversation with the waiter as we figured out the options. Thankfully, they had Herradura Reposado which made for a smooth margarita. I just can't do tequila blanco anymore. Don't judge me tequila purists. The food was tasty and about what I expected. There was enough for leftovers, but who's going to leave tacos for tomorrow? Not me. Those bad boys were going in my belly. All in all, I dig this kind of relaxed joint with decent food and affordable prices. If I lived within walking distance I could easily see this place being my regular as well.

Ambiance was odd, food was overpriced and not good. Not sure about this place. $50 for 2 nachos and 2 sodas

They give u a lot for ur $$ but pretty plain. As u can see by pic, this is supposed to be a chicken taco....... is it missing a few basic ingredients? YES. I had been burrito and it was pure ground meat in a tortilla. Topped with cream and good sauce. Just need some onion, peppers etc

Great staff friendly and patient. Excellent bar. Salsa is good; better than most. Sports on tv. Perfect spot to chill on a Tuesday after work. Also very close to my hotel,

We've been here a couple of times and the food easily makes this my favorite La Nop in Jax. Quesabirria tacos, chilaquiles, and the right cheese on top of their food (it's supposed to be white and melty, not yellow and never ever queso dip...) are what differentiate it to me. Service is friendly but can be a touch slow when they're really busy, so we'll try to avoid peak hours.

Hands down my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in Jacksonville. I have been eating at La Nop since college and I love it! They offer classic Mexican dishes and their prices are super reasonable. Their hot salsa is homemade and its a must try. I love their chicken quesadilla appetizer and their chicken enchiladas. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. So happy they opened a location in Bartram Park.

Fairly new La Nopelara Mexican restaurant location that just opened up in the Bartram area. The restaurant boast an optional outside seating area that not most La Nopelara restaurants have. The fam and I were greeted and seated right away by the hostess.     Inside the restaurant, they have 3 TVs tailored for any channel you want. Thankfully for me, they had the Jacksonville Jaguars game on all 3 TVs, enough for me to enjoy food with my family and to watch and cheer my Jags at same time.   In the middle of the restaurant, they have a Bar, surrounded by counter seats, so you too, can watch whatever is on TV. Nice, big wall art on the restaurant's side wall. The place is nice and open.   We were greeted by our waitress, Samantha. She was fast, attentive and friendly.   We ordered the following: Bistec Ranchero Enchilada & Chicken Burrito combo plate Two Taco combo plate Junior Taco Margarita   TIP for the ladies: Margaritas runs 2 for 1 until 5pm, so check with your server if this is available.   Food came out at a reasonable time. It was cooked perfectly. Food tasted like any La Nopelara joints that I have eaten from.   I would love to note and to commend Samantha for her A++ service. Despite her being our waitress, she also serve the other tables as well. She was all over the place. And she worked with a smile on her face. So we thank you Samantha.   All in all, we will definitely keep this place in mind next time we crave Mexican food and to watch Sports.   Signing out... Go JAGS!!!

Man, it was one of the best decisions I've made on the road lately! The food came out hot and fresh with that real homemade taste. The tacos were packed with flavor, the rice and beans were on point, and the portions were generous enough to fill up a hungry driver without breaking the bank. I went with the carne asada and it hit the spot perfectly - seasoned just right, not too greasy, and cooked tender. Service was quick and friendly, even when they were busy. The place has that classic hole-in-the-wall vibe (in the best way), nothing fancy but clean and welcoming. It felt like the kind of authentic spot locals would keep coming back to. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the parking can be a little tight for a big rig if you're not careful, and they don't have a ton of truck-friendly seating space. But the food more than makes up for it. If you're rolling through the area and craving real Mexican food, definitely stop in. I'll be back next time I'm in the neighborhood. ¡Muy bueno! -- Carlos, SemiTruckDriver

Like I don't know if it wasn't mixed well, or they heavy handed it, but I wasn't mad about it at all. The steak tacos were delicious and very flavorful. I'd get these again and again in heartbeat. Service at the bar was great. Food arrived faster than expected, but I had also got there as their night was winding down. My friends and I were originally going to eat here for Cinco de Mayo, but when I got there at 6:45, I was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. They had a DJ outside pumping out fast and upbeat music for the party and an outside margarita stand for grab and go drinks. When I arrived back just after 9, I had told them to take us off the list. She informed me that they tried calling me. Nothing came through on my phone, but she did show her call log and sure enough, it showed they called me around 8:20. My friends and I probably would have stayed to eat here originally had we been given a more realistic wait time guesstimate. An hour and a half wait vs 3.5 hours is much more feasible. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. I've always enjoyed Anejo.

Add to that, one of the greatest Happy Hours, and places to watch a game or play pinball, foosball, or shuffle board. It's just a blast. The crew is always great and the interior is casual and fun. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious here. Most recently, I tried the Gringo Quesadilla and got it to the highest level of spicy that I could. It hit hard. It was delicious, but when they tell here that something is very spicy, believe them. I can't wait to go back and if you haven't tried this gem, I highly suggest you do.

First off we ordered steak burritos- paid extra... the meat was literally STEW meat- not steak! It was so disgusting. Secondly, the ground beef tacos tasted good until you realized how crusty the meat was- as if it had been sitting ALL DAY in a bin! And lastly the nachos were exactly the same crusty old chicken meat!! We ordered pretty much every meat there and all was DISGUSTING and we had to throw out because meat sitting around all day can't be healthy! My recommendation is to NOT come here for the food!

The 30% off code - LOVETACOS - is good on the entire menu on Taco Tuesdays. The deal & code are advertised on a window poster you'll notice as you walk up in addition to another poster advertising a great lunch deal available. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th).

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.
